Candlewood Suites Fort Payne by IHG

I was given a five star up until a horrible experience. Breakfast is supposed to be served until 930. I was told I had five minutes that was at 8:20 ended rushing to get my grandson a plate because he didn’t get one the day before because they closed it down early the day before and ended up rushing spilling my coffee onto his egg plate, dropping the eggs trying to get into the door and in the end after complaining to corporate my keys stopped working to my room. It would only let me in to the outside door while I load it up, but would not let me in the room nor did my Grandson‘s key work and this happened right after I complained. It was nice to have the washing machine and dryer on premises however they were nasty on the inside so I cleaned them. I tried fixing the dryer vent, which they had already tried to fix, but what it needs is a dryer band around it or even some zip ties would work and I was going to do this before I left however, after getting into an argument with the employee who was putting out the breakfast, and I told her to stop arguing with me and she continued then I turned to the staff at the front desk to ask them to have her stop and they joined in with her I could not believe it! And like I said, my two room keys mine and my Grandson‘s keys were canceled out before we even checked out. They no longer worked for our room.

This hotel is the best! Excellent front desk service, clean, comfortable beds. Our tv wasn’t working properly. We left to go to dinner and the front desk called my phone to let me know we were getting moved and upgraded when we got back from dinner. They went above and beyond to accommodate us. We will continue to stay here when we are in town.

My only suggestion would be for handicap parking being nearer front entrance than the very end to the side! Just housekeeping issue, I dropped a piece of jewelry by bed and moved night stand, which the floor was dirty…
