Zedwell Hotel Greenwich

I really like the concept and design of the room, however... £10 for a hair dryer PER DAY is ridiculous along with £15 for luggage storage (we aren't in central London) I also noted some dust in the bathroom, stains on the carpet and my shower drain was blocked so had to turn off the shower every 2 minutes to allow it to drain. I stayed by myself, I think 2 people in the room would be very cramped.

If you like the concept this is a really good stay if you are visiting London and just looking for a good nights sleep. Very clean, fresh and modern, but the rooms called Cocoons, are very stripped down and simple. No window. No mini-bar. No closet. No TV. No safe. No kettle. No table, desk or chairs. Simply just a bed on the floor. And a good clean bathroom. I slept very good. The bed was nice. Very quiet. And very dark when the lights went out. Very good free Wifi (150Mbs). The check-in is something you do yourself on an iPad, but you need your booking reference (and I don't think it's the same as the one you get here at hotels.com). No restaurant, breakfast or dinner, but there is a vending machine located in the lounge. And there is a pub across the street. There are also some nearby supermarkets that are open late. The location is a bit off, but OK if you have the time and are here to explore the town. Walk to Cutty Sark and the DLR: 10 min. Bus to Canada Waters for the underground: 20 min Walk to Deptford station for train to London Bridge: 10 min (Are you going to Gatwick Airport you can get there from Deptford via London Bridge in around 40 min) As mentioned, if you like the concept and just looking for a nice place to sleep and don't mind staying a little bit outside of the most central parts of London, this is a hotel I can recommend.

If you are looking for a quiet, calming and convenient stay then THIS is the hotel for you! It smells wonderful, is extremely clean and comfortable-I slept like a log the night before London marathon and I never sleep straight through. Honestly, it is designed so simply, yet has everything you need for a stay in London. No TV, kettle etc so if you need those in your room, this ain’t the place for you. The same for if you want breakfast/dinner. Bring a hair dryer/travel iron if you need one as they don’t provide them. If you want to store your luggage it’s a £25 charge before 12:00 and £15 thereafter-wish I’d read the small print! The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. If you need anything they will be sure to help you. A five minute walk from Greenwich station and close to the town and tourist spots and selection of restaurants. Highly recommended for a peaceful stay :)

Self check-in, and programming room key yourself. Very small room with no window, with extremely low down bed. The A/C worked really well. But not much space to put any clothes and no where to sit down, except on the almost floor level bed. But the room was suitable for sleeping. Just don't expect a chair/workspace.

There is no restaurant on this property, but some vending machines. Minimalist concept. But the price reflects it. The rooms are very quiet.

It is the most affordable property for its grade in the heart of London. Being a non-UK resident, how small the rooms are was and remains a shocker. It is a small island, afterall. Self-check-in is open 24 hours, which is convenient, and the staff is exceptionally polite and professional. Good facilities gives you value for your money.

We turned up and realised the closest place to park was Waitrose which was £30 all day. The next safe place was about a 20 minute walk away. I wished the hotel stayed some places for us to park instead of just stating that they don’t offer any. The room still had rubbish in it from the previous guests. The duvet was dirty. There wasn’t even a glass in the bathroom like most hotels and I had a tablet to take so when I asked the staff for a cup they said they don’t give out anything so I had to go to Tesco and buy a pack of cups. We asked for a 1 hour later check out and they said it would cost us £50!

A reasonable priced hotel, basic and simple. Newly opened so some issues like lift not working properly. When reported to staff member, didn’t seem to be particularly concerned. Cocoon room was simple and basic. No windows, air con fan a little noisy. No glasses/cups or tea making facilities in room so make sure you bring water/bottle for refreshments in room. Bed comfortable.

Lovely stay. Although i had issues with my heating, the staff were quick to resolve these for me. Only challenge i have is being charged a tenner EACH time i want to use an iron. Not cool.

Unfortunately, I didn't pay close attention when I made the reservation. I didn't see that the hotel doesn't have a wardrobe, a minibar, or even a dresser. There is no bed, just a mattress on a raised bed on the floor. There are also no windows in the rooms. And they didn't clean the room. I stayed at the hotel for 6 days and they didn't even clean the bathroom.

The concept is great for sleeping however there were a few things not to my liking: Room 114 The paint on the walls had clearly been touched up in a very poor way marks throughout. The bed is on the floor as described, however the dust on the floor was significant and when the bedding is touching the floor just made the room/bed not very clean. The dimmer to alter the mood lighting meant that the lights kept flickering and buzzing - not good. Checking in... Self service, however noone checking in were able to do it without the staff giving a code as none of our codes worked for the booking which added to frustrations. £15 to store your bag for a couple of hours as running the London marathon - this was an excessive charge.

Great base for visitng O2 arena. Hotel spotlessly clean and staff very friendly and eager to help. Rooms basic but comfortable bed and spacious bathroom with good shower

Found a dirty sock in my bed. Reported it with the managers and all they could offer me was a change of rooms in the middle of the night when we were asleep. Horrible

Room was fine, if overpriced for what you get. No hand towels for the bathroom, only bath towel and bath mat, plus poor water pressure in shower. Carpet had stains and marks on it and bed was over soft with flat pillows. Also weirdly the sheets didn’t seem to fully fit the length of the bed. It’s absolutely great as a budget option, but the price I paid for the dates I visited (booking well in advance) was way too high for the standard of the hotel. Unlikely to stay again, unless the room rate was much cheaper. Staff were friendly and went out of their way to help make check in easier as their systems were down at the time of arrival.

During my two-day stay, the maid did not clean the room but only left extra towels on the bed. The carpet did not seem clean and definitely needs washing. The hotel's website claims that booking directly with them is cheaper, but this is not true; even with a 10% discount, it's still more economical to book through Hotels.com

Mixed experience. We had a problem with our room but Hussain provided excellent service. We greatly appreciated it! However we were very disappointed in the hotel overall. There are no windows in any of the rooms, the door to the bathroom is frosted glass, so forget anything about privacy, you can see AND hear everything! The room is not sound proof as advertised, we could hear everything from the hallway. The daily clean is just changing the towels. The worse thing was how ill fitting the sheet were. The didn’t even cover the bottom of the bed. The pictures of the room sizes are very misleading. The only good thing was the service provided by the staff. They made the stay better.

The hotel was modern, clean, well located and easy to check in to. The big problem for me was the lack of any windows in the room, I’ve looked at the booking details and the info hotels.com and as far as I can see, there isn’t anything info about this. The hotel website suggests that the hotel is designed to be calming and well sound proofed, it seemed quite noisy to me and I was woken up in the night by a noisy heating/aircon system.

Peace and quiet ensured a good night’s sleep

A minimalist hotel in the bad sense of the word. Small rooms with no windows, no seats, no shelves, no proper beds, just mediocre mattresses. The air conditioning system cannot be adjusted, but at least there is one. It stank from the drain. Be prepared to run after every roll of toilet paper or towel, but at least the staff is friendly. A good point: fast and stable WiFi.

Lovely little zen pod room in a great location. Stayed in a few Zedwell and I love the paired back spa inspire decor. It’s still light and airy despite having no windows and has the added benefit of being pitch black with no chance of being woken early when the sun rises.

Big fan of the Zedwell brand - and their central London locations. This location is a little out of the way. 10 min walk to the nearest train, which is Deptford. The neighborhood feels dilapidated and a little depressing - even in the summer time. The trains stop relatively early so you have to take an Uber back from central London which soon adds up. We chose this as thought it was close to the 02 Arena - but in all honesty would have been better staying @ Zedwell in Piccadilly and taking the tube in and out - which is 15 mins. Due to the global outage which grounded flights for hours, we arrived a day late. The hotel were not at all accommodating to this and even though they had plenty of room would not move the check in and check out dates a day, so we ended up having to overpay for an additional nights accommodation. The rooms are very clean and beds comfortable. So if this is an area you need to be in, it is good value.

Worst hotel ever! They resold my room! and left me out with no place to sleep

I was asked to use a WhatsApp chat to ask for things. Turns out it doesn’t work. I asked for a new towel and first aid as I was bleeding and nobody brought one. They claimed there was a problem with the system however I was told the situation was resolved via text at 11:42pm and still there was no one to come and help. I’m very disappointed and as I was unable to come to reception to help I had to ask someone electro come to assist me. I am very upset and very hurt and I sent a direct email to complain but nothing has come of it yet. I’ve never had a bad thing to say about any of the hotels before that I’ve booked through Hotels however this hotel was horrible. For a hotel to be big on comfort I was extremely disappointed and uncomfortable.

Worst service level from hotels.com and the hotel. Booked by mistake over a month ago due to the hotels.com app forward dating as you load it up. Thought a month would be enough time to cancel it especially as I am such a decent customer. NOPE. Messaged and messaged the service and response was terrible. I was assured it was being sorted a month agao kept message and no replies on APP help section on hotels.com. Hotel itself never answered the phone with a month of trying myself. DISGUSTING £100 wasted. Used hotels.com for over 20 years spend 00’s of thousands. This was the last time will ever use them again.

This hotel is the worst hotel i ever booked in my life! Imagine paying for it and get there at 11pm and they tell you they had cancelled your reservation and re sold it to another person? Yes this is what they did! They re sold my room and left me at the street without having a room to sleep! Never book this hotel! Is the worst ever

Exactly what was needed for an overnight business trip - a clean, safe, well presented bedroom and bathroom. I was only there to sleep. The staff were very friendly and really helpful. I also enjoyed the short walk to the DLR in the morning and the trip in to central London was super easy.

Extremely well priced. Clean room and absolutely loved the “cocoon” style. Amazing choice for a few nights, but may be a little small for more than that. Didn’t hear any noise and less than 10 minute walk from Greenwich Market. 10/10 would recommend

The property is really nice and was a very comfortable sleep. However the location is awful your right on a main road, the front entrance is outside and industrial state with spray paint and graphity everywhere and no lighting and the back exit is onto the main road - the closest train station is a 15 min walk away so if you got the train there would would potentially have to walk though and industrial state in the dark to get to the hotel it felt quite dangerous around the area

Good location and excellent value.

The Night manager Jose was a very helpful and friendly guy. The building is clean modern and the area is very easy to get to and from via bus service. Take the 188 to the center of London and start exploring.

Great hotel at a great location

It’s a different type of hotel. I loved that it was clean and the bed was comfortable. I did not like that the room had no windows and was thankful that I was only there for one night. It was also difficult to find because of it’s subtle and almost hidden location plus the fact that it has two addresses which was extremely confusing.I took an Uber there at 11:30 at night and it was a lot of back and forth between the driver and the front desk manager trying to direct the Uber driver. If I did not have a telephone number to call we would have never found the place. I ended up being dropped off down the street and had to walk the rest of the way with a lot of luggage but the manager was kind enough to come and meet me and help me with my luggage as the Uber driver could not spend anymore time trying to find this place. Room was extremely bare, just a bed and toilet and shower. No microwave, refrigerator, tea kettle or coffee maker, no iron and no tv. But I was grateful for a clean room and clean bed. They also charge to hold your luggage 15 pounds per item per day. For what I paid there are other hotels that charged the same price but had all the other basic amenities that this place lacked. Staff was very nice and friendly. If you’re just looking for a bed to sleep in for a few hours overnight it will do. Area seemed secure

Simple and cost effective. Towels, shampoo and body wash provided but everything else needs to be brought with you. Read the reviews and you won’t be disappointed. Had a room with air con and it was a really quiet night. Supermarkets and a chemist close by and a lovely pub called the Duke. Easy walking distance to the station and Thames. Highly recommended.

I like the area and the staff were very helpful. However the rooms felt a bit bare…no desk or chair, which made it hard to work and no drinking facilities (reception had a vending machine) but not a cup of any kind in the room. These things would be helpful.

The room grew on me, liking the minimalism and styling. Cocoon 2. However, the only bin was tiny and would rapidly fill with coffee cups and plastic bottles from the vending machine (the only way to have a hot drink.) The toilet roll stored directly under the sink rapidly became accidentally wet when using said sink to shave. Didn’t miss a television and WiFi was adequate, but overall did miss a kettle, even if to make a cup-a-soup or pot pasta. Was directed to pub over the road to eat but weren’t serving food on a Thursday evening; I was of limited mobility this trip and it was a long walk to the JD’s. Made do with a sandwich for evening meal from Sainsbury’s Local. Have been stung recently ordering food in from Deliveroo, etc but if I had have done so, it would have been eaten off my lap, as no table of any kind. I did sleep well; a very comfortable mattress on floor. Bus stop almost directly outside to Central and Docklands. I really wanted to like this hotel and would stay again, just will be a little better prepared.
