Tired grounds and building. Redeeming pool facilities and general location and proximity to main attractions. Service was average but not terrible.

Great location and views. Staff friendly and helpful. Clean Pool was out of action. Breakfast was good.

Great place for few days. Location is brilliant. Hotel staff very friendly. Hotel decent and pool not in use due to pool area works/renovation. and that made us go to the beach, which is good and walkable by steps and took cable car back. We had cheapest room. But due to the water spillage of gardener on balcony we've got upgraded to the larger room and that was brilliant. Spectacular views, spacious and classic quality furniture. Hotel needs some upgrades, but still decent. they seem to be renovating and may have suffered from Covid challenges. It takes time and of course paying customers. Many feedbacks I read are bit harch and unfair. Give them a chance! If in the larger room you will get spectacular views. Thanks

Booked property months in advance for a July stay. At the time of booking, the website stated that the pool was going to be unavailable in May and June. Unfortunately when we checked in we were informed that the pool was still being renovated (and by the looks of it it is still very far from being ready...). Property offers beautiful ocean views and staff is very kind, but it's in dire need of a remodeling.

We had a delux room which was large and clean The pool is lovely but there are 183 steps down and up so bare that in mind.There was never a problem getting sun beds My only negative would be the quality of the pool bar food -. Breakfast was nice lots of choice and a lovely little bar at night to have a nightcap The nicest thing about this hotel was the staff From the front of house staff to the girls in the breakfast room to the pool staff Everyone was so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The staff at the Miramare are a credit to your hotel.

Slitt Hotel med basseng ute av drift. En helt middels frokost, ikke vær seint ute for da er det tomt.. Baren var åpen når det passet de. Ellers hyggelig personale og knall beliggenhet.

Vi kunne se på hjemmesiden en uge inden ankomst at poolen var midlertidigt lukket. Vi kontaktede hotellet for at høre om poolen ville være åben under vores opholdsperiode, hvilket de bekræftede at den ville. Men poolen var desværre lukket under hele vores ophold. Morgenmadsbuffeten var skuffende. Vi havde super flot udsigt og værelserne blev rengjort fint.

This is an old hotel in need of serious updating. The view is 4 stars. Note that access to the pool is many many flights of stairs down.

Perfect location in Taormina. Staff was helpful. Knew we were leaving last day at 7:00am and suggested checking out night before. Breakfast very good, with a great view. Pool grounds meticulously maintained. On site parking a huge bonus. Already planning a return trip.

Abbiamo soggiornato in questo hotel per una notte, siamo stati ricevuti con molta gentilezza da tutto lo staff dell'albergo, la camera era molto grande e confortevole pulita e con una vista mozzafiato, abbiamo gradito moltissimo la colazione e l'utilizzo della piscina

Our stay was very nice, hotel convenient but it needs to be kept cleaner. Hallways were not so clean, shower was in the bathtub so very inconvenient for older people. We were beneath the dining room, so chairs were being pulled out from tables making the room noisy. The breakfast was very satisfying. The staff were friendly and helpful. Just the hotel cannot be considered a “Grand” hotel. That era has passed

Our stay at this 4 star hotel was toward the end of our six week vacation through Europe. We booked 4 star hotels at every location with the exception of an apartment in Dubrovnik. This was by far the worst of all hotels we stayed at. We checked in after dark, we found garbage in the bathroom waste basket and an empty bottle on the patio via moonlight as there are no lights for the balcony. On our way to dinner we complained to the front desk, we returned to find trash had been emptied. The following morning we found the room filthy, I took pictures and once again complained to the front desk as well as delivering them an opened bottle of water we found in the mini fridge. Again when we returned the room was cleaned. We understand the age of the building and the history of the area that does not constitute uncleanliness and feeling like it’s unsanitary. I’m not sure if this is something that needs to be addressed or not but I found it odd that we didn’t turn on the TV but there was a red light on on the bottom left it made me feel uncomfortable so I threw a shirt over it, after our complaints and room cleaned the following two nights the light was no longer lit. The breakfast and staff was good, on site parking and the location of the hotel are the best parts of this hotel.

I absolutely loved my stay at this hotel, it was sad to leave. The view from the sea view rooms is stunning. The hotel itself has old school Italian charm so expect the rooms to be dated but very clean. The only flaw I had was my shower head fixture was broken. The recently refurbished pool is modern and spacious, I never had an issue getting a sunbed. The staff were so helpful and friendly, I hope to be back someday soon!

We stayed one night - the hotel is very clean, comfortable; staff is very helpful and recommended a great restaurant for our family to enjoy a beautiful evening with delicious food in a garden-setting place. Thank you so much! Breakfast is great with lots of choices and stunning view.

Hotel Miramare provides beautiful views of the coast of Taormina. Very close to sights, shopping and restaurants. The room was somewhat old-fashioned, but nice. However, there was a funny smell on the floor where we were staying.

This hotel is situated very well and the views are excellent. However, the reception/lobby and staff are so cold and grouchy. You do not feel welcome. Breakfast was so-so, the staff serving breakfast were friendly. The cleaners did the bathroom only and skipped cleaning the bedroom, including coffee cups etc. Room amenities are stuck in the 1980s: faucets, shower, electrical outlets, AC control are very outdated. Wi-Fi worked well, which was saving grace.

Jag och min man bodde på hotellet i 5 nätter som ett första stopp på vår bröllopsresa. Hotellet får 10 av 10 för läge samt utsikten, det ligger 100 m från busstationen i Taormina och man går in till centrala Taormina på 5 min. Även väldigt nära till linbanestationen som tar en ner till Isola Bella. Hotellet har en magisk utsikt mot havet. Även en fin pool som känns fräsch som vi badade i dagligen. Dock ganska många trappor att gå ned till poolen från själva hotellet. Allt som vi upplevde var mindre bra har med rummet att göra. Vi bodde i ett standard dubbelrum med havsutsikt. Först och främst var det en konstig lukt på rummet och det upplevdes som väldigt fuktigt. Dock var det ändå rent och de städade varje dag. Om man ville duscha med varmvatten var det i princip ingen stråle, det bara droppade, så vi fick duscha kallt. Om man skulle spola i toaletten fick man spola flera minuter i sträck för att allt skulle försvinna så att säga. Sängen var inte den skönaste. Men totalt sett ger vi ändå vår vistelse 7 av 10, det som väger upp är som sagt läget, utsikten och även poolen. Vi anser att rummen är i stort behov av renovering.

Great location, stunning views but v steep climb up and down to pool. Noise from neighbouring rooms (you can hear bathroom plumbing!) Hotel decor rather “tired” - would have liked tea/coffee making facilities in room. Staff v pleasant and helpful. Plentiful varied breakfast with beautiful vista. Town is lovely - loads of great bars and restaurants. We’d love to go back to Sicily.

The Grand Hotel Miramare is a very nice hotel and is well located, we have stayed at the hotel twice. The first time was six years ago and it was excellent in so many ways, however, six years on and it’s become average. The rooms have not been updated at all, they have become dated and very tired, particularly the en-suite condition and facilities. Black mould and a black drain hole in the bath / shower isn’t very appealing, plus I our room the shower head height adjustment was broken so was at the lower part of the travel bar so was too low to use as a shower at above head height. It was fixed by putting the head at the highest setting using electrical insulation tape to stop it slipping down, but then no ability to move the shower head down. Breakfast was good, but average rather than excellent. Overall disappointing this time around and not to the standard expected of a four star hotel. A four star hotel should be excellent in such areas.

Great location, across the street from the bus station and a block from the furnaculor that takes you down to the beach. Hotel was very quiet, large rooms and wonderful view from the balcony in the room.

The outdated interior of the hotel was not the problem at all. We were really sad and surprised about the rude, non- attentive attitudes and service of the staff. When we arrived, I noticed our room had a big tree in front of our sea view that we paid for. When I asked to change the room (for second time) they told me that I should probably just change the hotel if it’s not pleasing us. The third time I asked we got a new room for the next morning. When entering and leaving the hotel, nobody says hello, good night etc. The staff att the breakfast seemed so tired and grumpy, we felt like they hated to be there. The lounge and reception had no music, the bar outside was closed the whole stay, no lounge music, the vibe was just so off and stiff. The most tireing thing was that the hotel room walls were like thin paper. Even if your neighbours where talking quietly, you could hear every word. This was a big problem for getting the rest you need during days or nights. Single bed were just too narrow, maybe 70 cm wide. Air conditioning is so old that it’s either freezing or sweaty. Both of us got a flu from it. The balconies have absolutley no privacy. There is no wall between the balconies, so you akwardly had to be in the same space with your neigbours all the time. The only good thing was the stunning view, but it’s not worth it. Don’t ruin your holiday by booking this hotel!

This is a beautiful property, yes it's dated in areas but we were fine with that. Our room was spacious, we had a huge patio and the AC worked well. The views from this hotel are stunning, it's located 5 minute walk from the centre of Taormina, so close enough to everything but away from the crowds. Breakfast was good and the staff at breakfast were very nice. The pool area is lovely but as mentioned by others, not for anyone with mobility issues. The downsides included the smell of cigarette smoke in the hallway every afternoon where our room was. We weren't sure if it was staff members smoking or other guests, but it was very strong. Thankfully it didn't come into our room. None of the front desk staff were helpful with anything or even remotely pleasant, which was very surprising.

Pros: great views, regal hotel, nice pool restaurant and breakfast. Cons: room descriptions deceiving not as listed on Expedia 2 twin beds instead of 3, gotta be said…front desk borderline rude, air conditioner not functioning mind you it was 100F.

Great location

Great location, across the street from the bus station and a block from the furnaculor that takes you down to the beach. Hotel was very quiet, large rooms and wonderful view from the balcony in the room.

Fint og stort hotell. Nydelig område for frokost med utsikt utover sjøen, fint område med basseng med god plass og solsenger. Kort vei til sentrum, 5 min gange til hovedgaten. Anbefales!

A lovely hotel with great staff set in a brilliant position overlooking the sea and a short walk into town

The airco was not working to my needs because it was warm outside and restaurant was closed so that was a bit dissapointed but the rest was fine and location was great. Beautiful view outside my hotelroom and nearby the busstop to go to all the places on the island was very helpful

Hotel review, this hotel has great bones and you can tell it has gloomier history. The pool is run down, the tennis courts are also in a need of a major renovation the hotel is desperate fir it needs a total makeover/ renovation. The location is amazing and the view is breathtaking very closed to town. I really hope someone will fix this hotel. That been said stuff are very nice, breakfast was also very good.

The best location ever. The view is spectacular. Make sure you get a sea view, it’s worth the upgrade. Breakfasts are great and the terrace a true joy.

Beautiful hotel grounds and gardens with a large swimming pool, many terraces and places to relax and enjoy the magnificent view. Nice staff and accommodating. Such a lovely spacious property built on the hillside that would be very hard to find in a new hotel. Wonderful breakfast buffet and fab setting. Highly recommend.
