This was one of the best properties I have been to. Great food, great staff, great rooms, great gym, great spa, great activities. I will definitely go back. They need a bit of work on the check in but minimal compared to the experience.

We had an excellent stay. Pleased with the beachfront, pools, gym fully equipped and service. We took advantage of the hydro circuit at the spa - if u like steam/sauna we recommend a day pass.

The staff was superb, friendly and accommodating. The property was clean and food was tasty. Unfortunately, we arrived at the time of year when the seaweed was at its worst but it was nice to have 4 pool options.

Everything was first class lux. All employees were super helpful and friendly. Spa was a dream. Castle pool was peaceful and if you wanted more interactions, the main pool was lively. Highly recommend!!!

Professional service with a genuine friendliness throughout the resort. Food was delicious and even though the beach was unavailable due to extenuating circumstance with the seaweed, the clean luxurious pools more than made up for it.

Property is immaculate! Rooms are impeccable. They are clean, quiet, and very comfortable. The staff is over the top welcoming and always helpful. The pool areas are clean and accessible. Only negative is not enough umbrellas for those hot Caribbean days. Alcoholic drinks are readily available and service staff checks on you regularly. The beach area is small and was not accessible during our stay. I believe they are working on it to prevent further erosion. The restaurants are very good overall. The Italian restaurant is by far the best! The Steakhouse and Wok are excellent, I feel the Blue Marlin was below average. Although we didn’t always have a reservation at the Wok, we were always seated. Overall, a very positive experience and highly recommend it.

The resort is fantastic! The restaurants offer great food variety, drinks are great at all bars and restaurants, the pools are all very nice, the gym and spa are awesome too. Rooms and bathrooms are all very nice, luxurious with lots of space. This is the perfect place to relax. With all that said, what stood out to me the most are the employees. They are focused 100% on the guests, making sure you have a great experience all around the resort. Highly recommend it!!!

The staff was the best part of my stay at Sanctuary Cap Cana. All of them were helpful, amiable, efficient. Don’t think I have enough adjectives. But the rooms were tired and in need of a refresh. I was in room 6102 and the bathroom was a mess. Even worse was the shower where the shower head needed a cleaning so water would come out of all the holes. That rain shower head was more of a sprinkle than rain. Also, the water temperature could not be controlled. Sometimes it would initially come out at 50*C/112*F. That’s a second degree burn. I was able to lower the temperature to 25* but it still felt much higher than that. Not only is it a health hazard but imagine spending a day in the sun and not being able to lower the water temperature below mid 80s F. Limited restaurants availability. The restaurant staff was limited and some of the restaurants would not open when they were scheduled to be open. The reason for this was that staff would be moved from one restaurant to another and there was not enough staff to operate all advertised restaurants.

Our stay at this resort exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcomed. Every interaction was warm, attentive, and professional—whether it was the front desk, housekeeping, or the restaurant team, everyone went out of their way to ensure we had an amazing experience. The entire resort was spotless. You can tell the staff takes great pride in keeping everything beautifully maintained. Our room was immaculate, the common areas were pristine, and even the outdoor spaces were kept in perfect condition throughout our stay. Beyond the cleanliness, the service stood out the most. The team was always quick to assist, offered helpful recommendations, and constantly checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. It made the stay feel personal and truly special. Overall, the combination of outstanding service, friendly staff, and an exceptionally clean and well-kept resort made this trip unforgettable. We wouldn’t hesitate to return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, worry-free getaway.

This is my 3rd time going to Sanctuary and won\'t be my last. This resort is literally perfect. Everyone is extremely kind and helpful, food and drinks are outstanding, and the pools and views are to die for. This a very laid back/chill hotel, but don\'t be fooled by that, there is tons to do and you won\'t get bored. There are multiple activities every day at the pools, common spaces and disco. Shout out to Nathanael from the entertainment team for giving such a fun pool aerobics class. In addition, there\'s the "Sanctuary Town" which has a beer bar with games and a pool table, but also several themed restaurants for sushi, burgers, Spanish food, sweets and pizza. We stayed in the "Castle" side of the resort, which is the best in my opinion. Shout out to Camacho, who has to be one of the friendliest, nicest and most helpful butler of any hotel i\'ve ever been too. Lastly, the spa is unbelievable. Do yourself a favor and book a session of Hydrotherapy and 15-min reflexology. It was just perfection. 10/10 It\'s just my favorite hotel in the Dominican Republic.

The property is quite small and also older construction. The building I stayed in (believe it was Building 2 or 3) had a mildew smell in the hallways. The elevator was also very small and also looked older/weathered. When I got to my room, I noticed the AC was not cold enough for the outside temperature. It did not go past 22C/72F. The bathroom vanity light also did not work on one side. Finally, the bed was dirty when I arrived; I found a black pair of underwear tucked behind the mattress into the space between the headboard. The throw blanket was also visibly filthy. I called twice to complain about this but nothing was done. The restaurants are decent although I found the buffet food decent at best; everything lacked flavor. The restaurant over the beach had great Dominican food however. Drinks were also either veryyyy sweet or the rum tasted watered down. Staff was very kind and accommodating, so complaints with them.

This property is not a 5-star with an above 9 rate- I have been at a lower rate, and my experience was way better! Dont fool with the review even Expedia didnt refund us we reached out! One of the worst things is the cleanliness, it's even worse than 4 starts; we changed our room and the bathroom was smelly for days, can you believe it?! The food was not good- I was Hungary during the day for 2 first days and after that I could just find some ham edible which was not in my diet, the reservation and occupancy were bad; we just abled once to entered the steakhouse with so many tires, and they made the resort full more than its capacity; it is cheap for such a rating and the amount you pay. We have been to similar resorts, which are more affordable and way better! If you want to enjoy and chill definitely you cant we were always worry about something, pool area beds was always full or bad food or reservation or bedroom dirts so many things!! I will just attach some photos that i got for Expedia to convince them we need a refund to go to another resort and they didnt accept, if you see in the toilet there is an stain, we tried to clean it with alcohol, didnt work, then the ground was some leaking that had an awful smell, the room was not clean it was dusty and drawers was not usable there were food residue. I tried to not focus on it to completely ruin my experience otherwise i would took a lot more photos to attach.
This property is not a 5-star with an above 9 rate- I have been at a lower rate, and my experience was way better! Dont fool with the review even Expedia didnt refund us we reached out! One of the worst things is the cleanliness, it's even worse than 4 starts; we changed our room and the bathroom was smelly for days, can you believe it?! The food was not good- I was Hungary during the day for 2 first days and after that I could just find some ham edible which was not in my diet, the reservation and occupancy were bad; we just abled once to entered the steakhouse with so many tires, and they made the resort full more than its capacity; it is cheap for such a rating and the amount you pay. We have been to similar resorts, which are more affordable and way better! If you want to enjoy and chill definitely you cant we were always worry about something, pool area beds was always full or bad food or reservation or bedroom dirts so many things!! My husband and I stayed for 5 days. This is a very clean and well maintained place. It is definitely a great place to unwind and enjoy rest and relaxation. It is not a party type of environment. The entire staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food was good overall. The beach is small but nice. There is a good amount of seaweed but the staff constantly made sure to keep the sand as clean as possible. Our room was very nice as well. I possibly did not read the fine print well enough, because upon Arrival, we had to put a $300.00 hold on our credit card for incidentals. The only other thing is that even though it is an all-inclusive, there are a variety of food and wines that are offered for an additional fee. So you just have to be aware of this when ordering. Otherwise, we had a lovely vacation.

Property is immaculate! Rooms are impeccable. They are clean, quiet, and very comfortable. The staff is over the top welcoming and always helpful. The pool areas are clean and accessible. Only negative is not enough umbrellas for those hot Caribbean days. Alcoholic drinks are readily available and service staff checks on you regularly. The beach area is small and was not accessible during our stay. I believe they are working on it to prevent further erosion. The restaurants are very good overall. The Italian restaurant is by far the best! The Steakhouse and Wok are excellent, I feel the Blue Marlin was below average. Although we didn’t always have a reservation at the Wok, we were always seated. Overall, a very positive experience and highly recommend it.

Highly recommend staying at the castle. The water is amazing! Our butler Mr. Lugo was awesome! Make sure to download WhatsApp before you arrive. That’s how they communicate with you. Only issue we had was that the ac broke and we had two cute crabs in our room! But that made the trip eventful! Five stars!

Our ocean view suite was beautiful. The housekeeping and concierge staff was amazing. The star of our pool side service was Omar. His service was over the top. He made us feel like we were the only people at the pool. Other servers were not as attentive on service and cleanliness around the pool. On the days that Omar was not working, pool staff walked by pool trash such as cups, leaves and a lime. The lime sat by the edge of the pool for two days. The best restaurant on site was Capriccio the service and food were excellent. The Wok also was very good. Service at the Blue Marlin was lacking and the staff tried to pass swordfish off as the red snapper. All in all we had a wonderful time.

The property is beautiful and our swim up room was perfect. The staff were all wonderful, especially Emilio, our butler. The food choices were good but I was not happy with the taste. The beach was unusable due to the seaweed. The smell is bad but it’s the time of year it comes in and it’s all over. Overall, we had a relaxing stay but nightlife could be better.

We stayed in the Castle section but the overall property is very nice and high-end compared to other all-inclusive resorts we’ve stayed at. Dining options were very good - highly recommend the Italian, Steakhouse and Pizza place. Staff were very helpful and friendly. They treat you like family. In the Castle section you get a butler. A nice to have but in my opinion not worth the extra money you pay for the Castle section. Attention varies based on the butler you get was our observation. Rooms were very nice but housekeeping was inconsistent and air conditioning was not optimal in all of our rooms. Overall though I would recommend the property/resort.

Just got back from my 6 day trip here at Sanctuary Cap Cana. It was my first time in Punta Cana so things were new and exciting. The staff were for the most part very kind and helpful. There were only a few in concierge who made it seem like you were bothering them. We got a room with ocean views and a jacuzzi. The room was nice and housekeeping never disappointed. Now apart of what attracted us to this property was the castle however you have to pick those particular rooms to stay there. Which may I also add the castle is on a hill along with the gym. Knowing how much I like working out in the morning, I truly wished I would have gotten a room in the castle with a swim up. I say that because, even with all the great pools on this beautiful property, I want to make this very clear THERE IS BARELY A BEACH! Traveling to an all-inclusive Caribbean location, I really was disappointed in the lack of beach and decent water. It was more like swamp lake water. Being that it was my first time in DR that did push me to do some incredible excursions in search of a nice beach. But that defeats the point of all-inclusive; I shouldn’t have to leave the property. This is the reason I’m only rating 4 stars. The food was great, sanctuary town was really cute and the property was beautiful.

This resort is absolutely stunning! Every single room, restaurant, walk way, nook and crany was thoughtfully done. There are so mamy pools to choose from and there is no lack of seating throughout the whole resort. Our room was an ocean view jr suite in the castle, it was large and well done, ac was cold and we were very happy with it. The room came with a butler...Camacho did anything and everything to make our stay personalized and special, he was wonderful! The food was great, we were not disappointed with any restaurant or food we ate. The service was very hospitable. We were very happy with our stay!! The one downfall of this resort is the beach/ocean. It was brown, not blue, it just wasnt usable. If you are going for the beach, this resort is not for you. We did a few carribean ocean excursions so it didnt bother us that much.

First off, kudos to the pool attendants, restaurant servers, the room cleaning staff, pretty much every one that made our stay worth it, except the concierge and front desk personnel, including the supervisor who did not greeted us. My wife and I were celebrating our 30th anniversary. We chose this hotel after watching a lot of videos in YouTube and social media. We were expected to be greeted with a welcome drink, explain all the activities available, a map of the hotel, wifi access, etc. Just basic info upon checking in. Well, NOTHING of the sort. Just a guy telling us that they have a room with two beds, with partial ocean view (even though the website says a junior suite, with balcony and ocean view) and there is nothing they can do, other than upselling us a suite with true ocean view for almost $400 a night. Not a great anniversary experience so far. Honestly, two big things stand out during our stay: The food is mediocre at best (except for the Japanese Fusion Restaurant). And the rooms are outdated and smelled humid. The beach was closed (we were not told) and will remained closed until further notice. As I mentioned initially, we had to mentioned it was our anniversary at the restaurants, bars and the pools that we started being noticed and congratulated by all the wonderful service staff. The hotel itself did not move a finger for us. It should not be advertised as a 5 star hotel, specially under the name Marriott. No difference with a Holliday Inn.

We just returned home from an absolutely fabulous vacation! The grounds were beautiful, but the staff truly made the vacation amazing. From Nicole at the check in, Felix, Miguel, Omar, Abel, Elvi, and Omar by the pool, to Galen and Daniel at the spa, everyone was incredible! Big shout out to Roberto, at the Blue Marlin and the Italian restaurant, your VIP treatment and wonderful smile helped make our 20th wedding anniversary trip spectacular! We can’t wait to return! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Staff: not attentive. At 5:30pm someone was walking around the back offering sun screen. I asked for a menu- no one knows where it is. We asked simple questions like where is the restroom, no one knows. Restaurant: no Ceasar salad, no empanadas (both on the menu). Drinks were too sweet. Steak over cooked. Overall, the property was gorgeous. The architecture was breathtaking, including the castle. Overall, the staff was nice and accommodating. The seaweed was piled up on the beach so you did not have access to the water. But would definitely recommend if that is not something that is important to you for your vacation.

15 minutes from the airport was such a nice way to start our trip. The resort is stunning. So many little thoughtful details throughout that are hard to describe. If you are looking for a place that is clean, safe, high quality & laid back, this is the spot for you. The food was fantastic. Entertainment was incredible. Plenty of options of things to do. Private Beach to was really awesome, just steps away from bars/pool/food. Highly recommend this resort 10 times out of 10. We will be back!

If you are looking for a place that is clean, safe, high quality & laid back, this is the spot for you. The food was fantastic. Entertainment was incredible. Plenty of options of things to do. Private Beach to was really awesome, just steps away from bars/pool/food. Highly recommend this resort 10 times out of 10. We will be back!

Hotel, pools and accommodations were lovely. Pool area shuts down very early, may be the norm here. Knew seaweed was an issue but for this specific property we were not advised in advance the beach was completely covered and not accessible. Spa was enjoyable and we spent a morning in the Hidrotherapry area. Restaurant hours were limited some days but our meals were enjoyable, definitely loved the pizza! Overall, I would recommend the Sanctuary but not if you are prefer to spend most of your time at the beach/ocean.

I stayed from 7/2 thru 7/05. The hotel is beautiful; is very peaceful and quite. The staff is very attentive. Downside long wait to eat at the specialty restaurant; there’s no buffet for dinner on a daily only basis; I was very disappointed when i got to the beach and found out it was close due to seaweed season. I think it should be communicate to the customer in Advance so you’re not surprise and can make your decision before heading out.

Excellent stay! Staff especially professional and congenial. Food was varied and delicious. Music at main pool gets a little loud, but only during exercise hour. Beach off limits due to seaweed but otherwise a fabulous and relaxing week.

Property is immaculate! Rooms are impeccable. They are clean, quiet, and very comfortable. The staff is over the top welcoming and always helpful. The pool areas are clean and accessible. Only negative is not enough umbrellas for those hot Caribbean days. Alcoholic drinks are readily available and service staff checks on you regularly. The beach area is small and was not accessible during our stay. I believe they are working on it to prevent further erosion. The restaurants are very good overall. The Italian restaurant is by far the best! The Steakhouse and Wok are excellent, I feel the Blue Marlin was below average. Although we didn’t always have a reservation at the Wok, we were always seated. Overall, a very positive experience and highly recommend it.

My wife and I celebrated our 25th anniversary at sanctuary cap Cana. We had a wonderful time with beautiful views. The ocean water had a lot of algae during this time of the year, which is August. I was told there’s less algae during the cooler months. Don’t expect to get into the ocean water. But there are so many amenities, including several pools that were satisfying. The food options are great, but the communication is a little sketchy between staff. Overall, we had a great time.

The staff, the food, the amenities, the suites were top notch. It's just so relaxing there while you take in the sound of the water and hear the air go through the palm trees. The only downside was the sargassum (aka...seaweed). This prevented us from going into the water but the pools and the atmosphere made up for that. My wife and I will definitely be back when the seaweed conditions are more favorable.

Loved the entire property. Beautiful pools and amenities. Staff is unmatched. Only qualm is with the size of the beach - but we knew that going in. Couldn’t recommend this place more as a way to get away and relax.

Wonderful suites, excellent service and superb buffet breakfast and lunch. However dinner is limited to restaurants, and one of them is often closed, the Wok, the Italian restaurant is very small and limited to 4 people tables and always booked ahead so unusable. This results in the entire number of guests fighting for tables at the remaining 2 restaurants: blue Merlin and the Steak Restaurant. The Buffet is closed for dinner every day except Friday. This issue soured our view of the property.

This is my third solo trip, my second to The Dominican Republic, and unfortunately, I was wildly disappointed with my experience at Sanctuary. For an all-inclusive, I expected most things to be “all-included,” but there was a price of $10 to be paid every single time when ordering room service, something I haven’t encountered before. Although I was told that it wasn’t for the food, but for the transportation, it was disappointing considering the quality of the food. The breakfast potatoes were incredibly salty, overcooked, whereas the eggs and French toast were not appetizing. The restaurants such as the Blue Marlin and The Steakhouse had good food and I was pleased with it! However, the Sanctuary Town which consists of multiple restaurants were not included at all, which was another disappointment due to the price that was paid for the trip overall. Additionally, the jacuzzi on my balcony did not work and I did not bother asking for it to be fixed, because after viewing the state of the actual tub, which was dirty, I did not want to use it anyways. The staff were kind, particularly the lovely ladies at the cafe in the lobby, but apart from that, there is not much memorable about this resort. Personally, I would not return.

Weathered paint, broken and/or very much worn equipment, signage, etc that have gone way too long with apparent little to no upkeep or pride in appearance. 2. We were in the “upgraded” section of the property, the “Castle”, in a swim out suite of a private pool. The pool was disgusting, dirty and had copies amounts of algae and visible debris and slime all over the bottom and sides. I have seen better pools in apartment complexes. 3. Although the resort is “All Inclusive”, with a huge selling point about “24 hour room service”, it wasn’t until we arrived that the much bragged about room service came with a $10 delivery charge. 4. We were turned away from the restaurant we were most interested in because it was closed for a private party. 5. Sanctuary Town, advertised as a really chic row of restaurants included in the all inclusive package was closed 3 of the 4 nights we were there. Avoid this resort… not worth it. Save your money and go elsewhere.

First off, kudos to the pool attendants, restaurant servers, the room cleaning staff, pretty much every one that made our stay worth it, except the concierge and front desk personnel, including the supervisor who did not greeted us. My wife and I were celebrating our 30th anniversary. We chose this hotel after watching a lot of videos in YouTube and social media. We were expected to be greeted with a welcome drink, explain all the activities available, a map of the hotel, wifi access, etc. Just basic info upon checking in. Well, NOTHING of the sort. Just a guy telling us that they have a room with two beds, with partial ocean view (even though the website says a junior suite, with balcony and ocean view) and there is nothing they can do, other than upselling us a suite with true ocean view for almost $400 a night. Not a great anniversary experience so far. Honestly, two big things stand out during our stay: The food is mediocre at best (except for the Japanese Fusion Restaurant). And the rooms are outdated and smelled humid. The beach was closed (we were not told) and will remained closed until further notice. As I mentioned initially, we had to mentioned it was our anniversary at the restaurants, bars and the pools that we started being noticed and congratulated by all the wonderful service staff. The hotel itself did not move a finger for us. It should not be advertised as a 5 star hotel, specially under the name Marriott. No difference with a Holliday Inn.

The property is beautiful, the room was great and the food was outstanding. Ginette and Alix in food service went out of their way to make each meal special. They deserve a big bonus! There needs to be more food options though. There were only 5 restaurants to start with and they are not all open every night so options were somewhat limited.

We just returned home from an absolutely fabulous vacation! The grounds were beautiful, but the staff truly made the vacation amazing. From Nicole at the check in, Felix, Miguel, Omar, Abel, Elvi, and Omar by the pool, to Galen and Daniel at the spa, everyone was incredible! Big shout out to Roberto, at the Blue Marlin and the Italian restaurant, your VIP treatment and wonderful smile helped make our 20th wedding anniversary trip spectacular! We can’t wait to return! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

All the property was inmaculate. The staff informs you always when a no included item you are interested, so no hidden charges. The food was amazing and the kitchen staff were very aware of any special food item you liked more, to please you next day...one of the chefs Julio, even share some goat curry he has made for the staff with me because I let him note i just like. It was some of these small details that want me come back again to the property. The only bad experience was that the beautiful beach I was dreamed for was covered in sargassum and was not able for use, so the full experience was not met. The are a nice asian fussion restaurant the "Wok " that serves sushi rolls, my experience is was the rolls were extremelly cold, and was not a pleasant one...other than this the place was very good. In the room fridge there were some bottles of water, soda and son beers, not bad, but compared with other resorts of the area ( like Secrets) that includes some whyskies and runs, or other spirits i was a difference that others could weight, they have Bars open almost all night and in many places, but there are moments when you prefer not to go outside the room for a drink. But in general the place and location are premium, and very well care. Thank you Sanctuary staff!!!

We really wanted to love the property. This was our 2nd time at Sanctuary, the first was during Covid but that’s another story The pros: It is a beautiful property with 6 pools. Our favorite is the pool in the castle- it’s quiet and on a hot day it is much cooler due to the breezes. If you are into a good time- you need to be in the main pool The staff are truly welcoming and professional. From the moment you exit your transport to the resort to you exit for your flight home. Our housekeeper Nancy and Daniel, our beverage person went out of their way to make sure they were accommodating our needs The wait staff are very hard working and friendly remembering what you like as they got to know you better We had 2 issues with our room and not only was it rectified promptly, the front desk followed up to make sure we were satisfied. The cons: food & beverage only 2 restaurants were open for dinner per day. ( it appeared the hotel was 1/2 occupied) Thus limiting your choices. the restaurants alternated being open, but if you were in a mood for a good steak and the steakhouse was not an option that night- you’d be disappointed The steakhouse was the best restaurant for us. The steaks were wonderful, tender and tasty. I would have liked to have a Bearnaise sauce, but I settled for the mushroom. The other restaurants just missed the mark with flavor. Not sure what was the issue, but just meh- the house wines could improved Unfortunately we won’t be back
