The portion of the motel we stayed at was atop of a mountain with a view of the ocean! The rooms were clean and comfortable.

The Ceilidh Lodge was just what we needed for our 2 day getaway to see the Autumn colours on the Cabot Trail Conveniently located close to dining and shops in Baddeck- owners very welcoming and accommodating as we had a small dog. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise, good food and very well set up to serve yourself. Staff very professional and nice calming music played at breakfast

Spent 2 nights here. The room, King bed, was clean but quite dated. Breakfast was not special. It was tough to get the toast toasted. In one corner of the dinning room there was quite a draft. The property was convenient, and a easy walk into the town. The view from the prperty is good and the grounds were well maintained.

We booked our stay at Ceilidh Country Lodge because of its close proximity to the Cabot Trail. We were a party of 4 booking 2 rooms. The rooms were terrible, bathrooms in particular. The toilets were round basin, lowest possible height that can be obtained. Sink in our room were in terrible need of replacement, enamel was scrtched like someone used steel wool on it, our other guests said the same of theirs, along with hair stuck in the radiator. The toilets were way overdue for replacement. The toilet seat looked like it was never cleaned but it was because the material was deteriorating to a point it should have been replaced years ago. We didn't dare to use the shower as that sghould have been replaced a long time ago. The 2nd floor railing around our building's deck was far beyond a paint job. I only have to wonder how long before someone goes through the railing with wood rot around window frames, balcony posts and doors. A lot of it is esthetics but a good majority is also a safety concern. Property is also in great need of a paint and wood replacement as we seen lots of rotting wood all around in traffic areas. We were in the front building so not aware of the condition of the back building. We were all disgusted in the condition of the property and disappointed the description didn't tell us what to expect. Personally I gave it 2 stars, but probably deserved only 1 star but the continental breakfast was actually quite good. Cleaning was mediocre.

The rooms were very old, never renovated, and smelled like mildew. And when I turned the shower on the water ran slightly yellow at first.

The view was beautiful but the room itself could have been cleaner. We have stayed at this property quite a bit in the last few years and have noticed a difference in the cleanliness of the property.

G4eat for pets. Very clean rooms.

We found 8 spiders in the first 15 minutes. Cobwebs everywhere. The sheets were filthy. We called the front desk and they sent 2 staff to look for more spiders (no more were found) and they did change the sheets with clean sheets. The following morning told manager and response was “previous guest had no complaints” without any acknowledgement of our experience. The photos are of the main building and not reflective of the rest of the property. Wouldn’t stay again. The property has potential, but the lack of cleanliness and lack of apology or really any attempt at customer service was concerning. The colleagues who came to the room to search for additional spiders, and change the sheets, were friendly enough, but the manager who checked us in and out lacked warmth or concern.

No plug-ins avaliable to use without unplugging lamps, after doing so the plugins are worn so whatever is plugged in is half in the socket. Towels were stained even after cleaned and paper thin and small child sized. Room was musky had to open windows and door to air it out. Reception not there after 930pm but leave a number to call. During breakfast the "staff" was wearing pjs while filling food station. If another guest flushed the toilet while showering... becareful you dont get burnt with a rush of hot water! After getting room cleaned other peoples hair was all over the bathroom.... King bed was caved in the middle and the room was so small not much room for luggage and the entertainment stand was literally 1 foot away from the bottom of the bed.

Room was very clean and well appointed. Room was nice and warm on our arrival and the pathways were heavily salted to prevent ice. We saw staff out salting the deck and paths over our stay.

A king size bed was too big for the room. The shower curtain was full of pink mould at the bottom and the bathroom needs to be cleaned better. Breakfast was good and no issue with parking.

Property is not updated - but is good value to us (based on what is important to us). Positives: Bed/comforter/pillows/bedding all clean & comfy, Fridge/AC/Shower-Water-pressure all good, new shower curtain, clean towels, good wifi & free breakfast, free convenient parking. Negatives: pink & black mold on shower wall tiles (needs deep clean, but tub looked clean).

The room was spacious and very clean. Beautiful view of water, from the balcony. The included breakfast was great. Friendly, helpful staff.

The hotel was clean. The TV is ver small. There was no microwave which was disappointing . The price was good .

The unit needed to be updated. There was a bug in our unit. No microwave and i could only figure out how to get one channel on the tv.

The view from the top floor room was the best part of the stay. The air conditioning unit was not efficient and was noisy. The room stayed quite hot, and felt like the air was stagnant. The breakfast provided was adequate but nothing exciting.

This was a decent stay. Good bed and shower, and the room was quiet But, the layout of the room is just odd. The TV is in a large cabinet with doors, but the doors don’t open very far, so you have to be on the bed to see the TV. And, you can’t pull the TV out on the tray because the cables aren’t long enough. Also, the small table doesn’t function well as a desk, and you can’t work and watch TV (see previous item). The heat uses an old fashion knob type thermostat that was unpredictable and way off the markings. I wound up turning it off and dealing with a chilly room. The interior seems to have been updated recently, but the exterior is in need of some major TLC. Would I stay here again? I’m not sure. It got the job done, but there were to many odd things.

What a perfect base for our three night stay in Baddeck. Our second floor king room was spacious, clean and comfortable with the added bonus of a great view of the bay from the deck. Breakfast in the dining hall of the historic lodge was a treat.

We had the loft. It was located on the rear of the main building with only having one small window, so it was dark. No view from the room. Headroom was also an issue ( I am 6’2””talk) due to low vaulted ceilings. Closet space and table and chair was difficult to use due to low vaulted ceiling.

Room furniture dated. King room cramped.

The room was very comfortable and I was offered a choice of rooms. Manager and other staff tried to help when I broke my glasses and were consistently helpful and friendly. Breakfast was simple but perfectly fine.

Staff was excellent. Food at the pub attached was great and very helpful with food allergies. Very accomodating with pet with easy access to outside.

Outside property was nice, rooms were very dated and very fragrant. At check-in, we asked the property manager if we could cancel our 3rd night and he said no problem but we would have to contact Expedia for approval since we had booked through them. When Expedia finally reached the property manager, he denied that he had told us that it wouldn't be a problem. Had he told us "No" when we initially asked, we would have been ok with that. We were not ok with his lying. Honesty in this industry is very important! We were very dissatisfied and disappointed in his customer service and would not recommend this lodge under the current management. Baddeck is a very lovely place!

The staff was amazing! They work so hard to make sure that your vacation is perfect! It is an older property but they keeo it clean and hospitable!

check in procedure was very poor. Made to feel like we were inconvenience. We were party of 4 and advised a bus load was checkin in later and took priority. At checkin he said dont come for breakfast early as he needed to tend to bus load who were eating at 7-8am. When we went for breakfast it was cold and clearly a leftover situation. Manager1owner has only been in hospitality a short time and it showed. Far for the warm loving friendly Cape Breton welcome

Nice Lodge, but certainly could use a refresh and paint job. Rooms in the motel part look and feel old and worn out. Staff was kind and courteous. Easy to check in and out Breakfast could use some fruit for guests

Very disappointed with lack of value received for my money. The two rooms I booked were both greatly in need of decor updates, bathrooms lacked normal hotel toiletries, and both rooms smelled dirty/musty. Carpets were stained/dirty, walls were marked and had holes in places. The included breakfast lacked options stated on their website (yogurt, fruit, fresh baked goods).

The rooms are very old and need urgently refurbishment. For breakfast they use only plastic plates, plastic cups and plastic cutlery. Terrible for the environment!!! The quality of the food is very poor. Can’t recommend this place :(((

Likes: The view from the property was excellent. The room was a good size. Dislikes: breakfast was terrible - lack of options, disposable cutlery, paper plates! Noisy AC, noisy fridge, dated decor.

Rooms and balconies need a lot of tlc. Breakfast was disappointing. No fruit or yogurt. Eggs bacon and bread or cereal. For thr price it was dissapointing.

The breakfast was not good. The only thing I did not like at the hotel. If there were fruits & a waffle maker, it would have been very good.
