very nice, checkin desk staff was very nice. Room wasn't ready until after 430PM. Nice Room, great view, nice hotel. Due to an event at the hotel, there were a of guests. Bar service was terrible and the staff apparently was not happy either. Got a table, but no service. Paid too much for that to happen.

It's a great hotel. Brand new. With beautiful facilities. I didn't get to try the pool as it was not opened yet, but it's going to be great, with gorgeous view.

Do not spend your time at this “luxurious refuge/luxury oasis” as there are MUCH better options. Please give your time and money to the Houstonian, Four Seasons, or St. Regis. Pretty interiors don’t equate to paying more to stay at the listed hotels if you can’t provide service. From beginning to end The Thompson missed the mark. 2 parking options overnight - $55 for self right across from the hotel 5 ft away or $60 for valet (which meant parking my car right next to self park). Upon arrival at 2pm we went to the restaurant on-site for lunch. We left at 4:10pm. Between the 2 hours we ordered 2 salads with chicken and salmon. Took almost an hour for our first round of salads to come out - they completely messed up the order and it had to be sent back. They brought the same salads when we ordered different ones a second time. Forgot salmon and then brought it out completely raw. Left avocado off a salad that comes with avocado. Forgot fries. Entire thing was a mess. We utilized the on site car service to go to dinner. After drop off the driver tells us they don’t do pickup. Never mentioned their prior. It was no problem as I can operate ride share services - for someone older who couldn’t, they would have been stranded. Next morning AM yoga from 7:30-8:30 on the roof. Great experience, until 8:05 when they turned on the super loud techno music for the pool. You couldn’t even hear the instructor and this obviously took away the zen.

From beginning to end, our stay was nothing short of amazing. The hotel had everything we needed—and even things we didn’t realize we’d want. Every corner of the property delivered top-notch service, and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. Room service was quick, friendly, and the food was delicious. The rooftop pool? Hands down the best one we’ve seen out of all the Thompson hotels. It was the perfect spot to relax, take in the views, and feel like we were truly on vacation. We also dined at Sol 7, the hotel’s restaurant, and it was just as impressive. Eating poolside on the 7th floor somehow felt breezy and comfortable, even in the humidity. This place has officially become our go-to hotel—already looking forward to our next trip back!

Buyer be aware that they place a 175.00 a day hold on your cc.I stayed for 4 days so do the math. They charge 60.00/ night for parking. They have a self parking at 5.00 per hour but the parking lot is shared with EOS gym which makes it difficult to find parking. It's very very frustrating. I took in a spa day on my birthday! The massage therapist was great! The spa was small and underwhelming. I was greeted with a rose and a glass of champs along with a gift and thoughtful written note from the spa concierge. Interesting thing the pool opens until 10! The Thompson offers a hotel car and driver who can take you anywhere within a 3 to 4 mile radius. Too bad I learned about it on my last day. Maven the coffee and bar spot was a great addition. Just a word of advice to Thompson Let folks know you are charging 42.00/a day fee and placing a hold on cc for each day then deducting 100.00 a day for fees and parking. In my 58 years a hoteling, I must say this is the first time I checked out owing. I live in Vegas with lots of staycations so you can imagine my gag. One more thing, you staff don't wear name tags and I recall names when I see it in writing so I can shout out your staff.

This is a party hotel, lots of traffic on the weekend. Great restaurants in the hotel and next door. Wish the lobby bar open later than 11pm on the weekend.

This hotel was amazing. The staff were amazing and so helpful. The smell when you walked in was so clean. Was absolute beautiful. The view was breathtaking. Just wish the pool was open, the only thing I didn’t get to experience. Other than that I have not one complaint. Fell in love with the shower. Give this place 15 out of 10 hands down. Would definitely love to stay here again hopefully one day in the panaromic suite.

This is my first time treating myself to a realllly nice hotel and when I say they didn’t disappoint.. this was a great experience. Extra clean, smelled great, lots of amenities, friendly staff, easy check in & out process. The bathrooms were so luxurious I spent most of my time in there. Obsessed is an understatement.

It’s new and clean, but pretty much a faux luxury hotel if you’ve experienced luxury hospitality. Located in a generic tower surrounded by parking lots. Awkward entrance sequence caused by elevators that do not connect directly from ground floor level to room level. Finishes in rooms are cheap. Elevator was audible from room. And to top it all off—and this is the biggest red flag that a property is not luxury—the guy at the reception desk asked if I was here for business or pleasure and after I said pleasure he asked only for one night? Well, actually we just change hotels every night to experience different hotels. But he kept prying for information. Not a good first impression.

I had the pleasure of staying at Thompson Houston on their very first night that they were open. WOW what a treat. The rooms have a unique and modern design and the entire hotel has beautiful masonry and stonework throughout. Pull deck has epic views of downtown!

The property is modern with a really attractive aesthetic and the rooms are comfortable. I had a corner king suite with an incredible view of Buffalo Bayou park across the street- which makes it very convenient to walk the park trails. It has a huge shower room. Literally a room. It also has a very comfortable soaking tub. The food is good and creative. The red snapper ceviche is absolutely delicious and light and full of fresh flavor. The 'star' of the stay is definitely the staff. Every single person at the front desk, restaurant, bar, including the cleaning staff was super friendly and thoughtful. AND they remembered me from when I stayed a couple of months ago. They made me feel very much at home. I will definitely be back!

The property was very nice. Staff were very friendly and helpful! Room had a beautiful view. The only issue was the a/c in the room. Overnight it got really hot in the room even though the thermostat was set to 65 degrees. It didn’t cool down until next morning

It was mainly the beds that were unsatisfactory.. They were firm and not soft at all. Also I will re-rate after all the amenities are fully open.

The hotel room, pool, and ambiance as a whole were nice. When booking the room, I was misled. Various sites have the king room with a private stand-alone tub. The bathroom is nice and spacious but with a stand-up shower only. The Thompson website is misleading as well. The only restaurant located within the hotel is Sol 7. The website says Sol 7 is upscale and business casual attire, not the case. I felt very overdressed. Entry and exit to the pool is in the middle of the Sol 7 restaurant. Sol 7 food was ok, staff and service were excellent. Toca Madera is a great restaurant but is located across from the hotel valet. So pay attention to the weather. Last but not least, my bill....lol.. I was charged a miscellaneous sale tax $4.95, Destination fee $35, Destination fee state tax $2.10, Destination fee city tax $2.45, Destination fee county tax $1.40..

They offered me and my partner a complimentary couples massage but that didn’t happen as there were very few booking spots and options We ordered breakfast room service the next morning and there were items missing off the tray. We didn’t say anything as we just wanted to move past it. Dinner came and the restaurant was very busy. Waited about 10-15 mins to find a host and was told the restaurant closed at 10pm. That’s a huge downer especially on a Friday night to not have restaurant or bar. We ordered food to go. Waited about 30 mins for it to come out and it was cold also with missing items. We called and complained about both meals. They did take the breakfast meal off our tab and offer a complimentary meal on Sunday to mediate the dinner. Inside the room it was pretty nice (just not $800 a night nice). The blinds didn’t even close all the way. For the extra night added I had to check out on Saturday morning to recheck in to have to give another security deposit. Everything was just super inconvenient for the price we paid to stay. I don’t think we will book again.

My stay was overall good. I had to catch my flight at 7am and requested for a baggage antten and was told that the staff come around 7 am so I have to carry my baggage myself. I therefore had to go down for a trolley and struggle to take my baggage to my car. My first experience ever after over 40 years of travel.

The service from every staff was amazing!

From the minute i checked in, i felt like a priority to them. Every single staff member i encountered for one reason or another, he or she provided us spectacular service. Its a plus that they are let fiendly.

By far, the best hotel I’ve been to. Friendly staff, hospitality, designer toiletries, ETC! Applauds to the night manager, he made my stay memorable! Definitely will be back!! BEST BIRTHDAY GIFT TO MYSELF :)

Had an awful experience at the Thompson Hotel in Houston. From the moment I checked in to the moment I left, the staff—valet, front desk, everyone—were rude and unwelcoming. If you’re looking for a true luxury experience, this isn’t it. Save yourself the disappointment and book The Post Oak Hotel instead. That’s real five-star service.

I lost my wallet and they assured they would do anything they could to troubleshoot Any problems. Had including helping get a mobile ID for travel and new keys for the room. Also followed up the next day to assure everything worked out.

I am very satisfied with the service. From Mark the concierge to the people at the pool , everyone was amazing. Shout-out to everyone. I will be back.

Great location near downtown but not in downtown. Bell desk was helpful and prompt. Check in was great and i was helped out by Samuel and Victor who were very courteous and got or rooms close as possible for us. It was my bday weekend so they were nice enough to give us a late check out. The rooftop pool was one of the nicest pools I've been to.

Awesome new luxury hotel just minutes from Downtown Houston! The numerous amenities and just the cleanliness of the hotel were excellent! This is the perfect hotel for business travelers or just a weekend getaway in the City…
