The Malone Hotel

Disappointing breakfast. Arrived at 9AM (breakfast was supposed to be til 11AM) - there was no bacon left, bread for toaster was stale. On our first night room was cold. Room had no thermostat. We reported twice to reception. We were told firstly that heating was due to come on at 8pm - it didn’t. They then said boiler would be reset…. It eventually came on at 11.30pm that night as we were going to bed. The safe in the room was out of order. Reception said they had no maintenance personnel to fix either problem until after our departure (we stayed 2 nights Friday and Saturday). They offered to keep our valuables in reception but we didn’t want the inconvenience of returning to reception every time we wanted something (our room was over the road from the main hotel. Reported problems on check out but no compensation offered. Disappointing when we paid over £400 for 2 nights B&B

Förutom bemötandet vid incheckningen är vi mycket nöjda! Vi påpekade vår upplevelse av incheckningen i en survey och fick ett handskrivet kort från GM + ett fat med cookies på rummet dagen efter! Utöver detta var bemötandet och service perfekt!

Staff were really friendly and helpful even when they brought me a meal I didn’t order. There were signs saying they had a major refurbish. Not in the room I was given they hadn’t. Room 708 carpet was filthy the surfaces were peeling off the furniture. The shower door is broken. I had two tv’s but no remote control. There is a kitchen area but I couldn’t use anything and wash it up cos there were no tea towels. I admit I didn’t complain but that’s cos I was there for one night. If it had been more I would have said something. Definitely NOT worth the money they charge for the room.
