Cairns City Sheridan Motel

No parking, combined with 20-30 walk to local sights, limited transportation. Good pools, however unlikely to be maintained or cleaned (like rest of property. Staff consists of one person running front desk. Emily was very nice, but had NO housekeeping staff to assist. Housekeeping is terrible

This hotel is old and dated, badly in need of renovation. In my bathroom, a patch in the wall had fallen off to reveal a dusty hole with old plumbing. The is no lift, so I had to carry my bags up to the second floor. Car parks are very tight. There is no dining facility.

Appears unkeep in the yard and pool areas. Parking spaces are very scarce and some almost inaccessible for bigger vehicles. Outside rooms not clean and rooms not probably maintained.

It's not the Sheridan but it's the next best thing I would recommend staying here it's just a short walk to the city centre, 2 pools to swim in friendly staff

This property is a little tired, and seen better days but provided value for money. Great pool. Pretty clean. Great staff

Equipment not working like hot tub remote on tv bath plug ruined Staff member on desk was nice

3 1/2 stars is abour 3 too many. 1. I had to hold up the shower spout with 1 hand while showering. 2. The only cutlery in the unit was a solo knife. 3. While locating our grotty unit we were greeted by drunken guests yahooing in the algae infested pool. 4. The drunken yahoos decided that around 2am would be a great time for a loud party outside our room. 5. Reception was unattended so no chance to purchase laundry powder. 6. As I walked through this unit the tiles made sticking sounds onto the bottom of my shoes. 7. Rubbish under beds and behind doors.

Dirty & water leaking stairwells. Room very old & tired, bad choice of air freshner = nausea.

2 pools, easy to find, close to the city

Not enough parking, Too many people wandering around the motel at night that weren't staying there. Motel very dirty in hallways, piles of dirt and fluff just left there. No service to rooms over the three days.

It was filthy, i was told the room had just been cleaned , clean sheets but thats all , in bathroom shower screens and wall tiles where not washed , floor had dirt in corners where it hadn't even been tried to clean . Lock on sliding door was broken so a make shift lock was on door stopping outsiders coming in , curtains where so old the backing was coming off which allowed the light straight out side the door come in . The picture did not match the room i was given. It would help if they put a big sign on door askinf guess to not let the door to go in or out after hrs the doir slam as you can hear it all night , i rang said after hrs number to complain about noise as the paper work said to and was told to call the police.

No hand soap or shower gel. 1 coffee mug but no tea or coffee. Fan sounded like it was going to crash down from the ceiling. Whole place was dirty and loud. No flyscreen and what looked like blood on the curtains. Photos online clearly from 10 plus years ago. It made me feel dirty.

The room was very very dirty floors in. Bed room had trash Under the bed from previous guests. Baht room had mould all over the floor the shower curtain had mould And dirt all over it The room was very unsafe as the door to the balcony was broken and could not be locked at all The fridge had leftover food from a previous guest There were cockroaches running around the room I have never seen a property so dirty I my life before The ceiling fans blades were black with build up dust. I understand some motels are aging but this was just Disgraceful filthy dirty As a result I will never book another hotel or motel accommodation with wotif ever again In my opinion you have a responsibility to make sure the accommodation you are hiring out is safe and clean I did not sleep at all last night as I felt very unsafe and Wasn’t going to sleep in the bed as the bed sheets possibly had not been changed as well. I photographed all of the dirt and mould an cockroach how can I send you the pictures I am Not looking for a refund at all I just want to forget the whole experience

The cleanliness need to be improved. Found long hair in the shower on the floor. Vent was full of dust. Curtain right next to the bed had food on it that wasn't cleaned off. A towel left from previous guest left outside on the chair that was used to sit on.

I would say this property is the dirtiest room I have ever stay in. I was worried that the bed would have bed bugs. For the $200 per night rate I expected much more

Cleanliness was a big problem at this accommodation the curtains were so badly stained and even the outer curtain in yhe room wall lined with mould and the bottoom of the cutain had dirt stained all along it at least 30cm running up the curtains. There were cocktoaches and ant running all over the condiments bench coffee cups cutlery bowls and plates everytime i made a tea i was killing either ants or trying to kill the returning cockroaches. The fridge was all rusty and i took the pillow cases off and i was nearly ill they had huge stains all over them one had blood stains and one of the pillows was so old that inside the pillow the filling had all started the ball up together in big bundles. Even my dogs bed at home has better condition pillows than what i discovered at City Sheridan. Even on my balcony there were old cigarette butts that had obviously been there a while. Ever so disappointed and disgusted.

Then they changed my room as they couldn’t get the remote to work. The next room they gave me the bathroom smelled like sewage and the family of cockroaches were a bit put out with having to share the room. I would never recommend staying there. There is no restaurant or bar !!! As says on the information. Because it was soo dirty I didn’t want to swim in the pool 💩

It was dirt and had mould on 90% of the roof and had just been painted over. Crusty old milk spills still in the fridge. Toilet and shower needed cleaning and you could feel the springs when laying or sitting on the bed. Pillows had mould stains and were discussing.

Room wasn’t clearly marked, had trouble finding our room. Walls paper thin, could hear everything next door was doing. Booked a room with balcony and was on ground floor.

The motel is on the main highway so its very noisy with traffic and the place needs an upgrade. Very old inside and not like the pictures on the internet.

The room was clean and comfortable and the hotel only a short walk from Cairns CBD, so very convenient. The TV in my room was not working. I reported this but no action was taken to remedy. It was noisy at night with doors slamming and rowdy young guys in the early hours of the morning.

The staff were amazing after coming off night shift and not well and got me early check-in , was able to have an awesome sleep before driving home the following morning. Excellent customer service and really appreciated the staff going above n beyond.

Arrived at the hotel ready to check in at 2pm only to find that reception was closed. Had to use a phone to call an after hours number even though the sign on the front door said reception was meant to be open until 3pm, only to be charged an extra $128.75 after hours check in fee. Apparently this is meant to be refunded into our account but nearly 4 days later it still hasn’t. Very poor. Hotel is more like a hostel or a in between house then a hotel, would definitely not recommend. We didn’t even end up staying it was that bad, checked into another near by hotel.

Very confusing trying to check in when reception is hardly ever open. Also makes it hard to restock towels , tea and coffee etc. We had to buy our own. Double bed was ok but single bed had a sagging mattress you could feel the springs. Furniture has chipped paint. Blown lightbulbs are not replaced. A free continental breakfast was advertised but on arrival found out they no longer do this. If you just want a cheap place to sleep then I guess it's ok. But it is definitely not a place I would go back to.

After confirming booking mid morning, we arrived for checkin at 8pm. After hours checkin advised our group of 6 weren’t on the guest list and didn’t have a room. Had to buy three rooms at last minute pricing….after numerous attempts at contact still haven’t been able to make contact with the hotel…can you get any poorer service?

This is a low-budget hotel, so the rooms are simple but well-aired and bright. The staff are fantastic! So kind and welcoming. And the hotel is well-positioned - 10 minute walk to everything.

came back to room after at work - my toiletries, including expensive after shave x 2 bottles, electric toothbrush, clipper and expensive bluetooth mouse has been stolen. no night time management to assist - have filed a police report. Absolute disgrace in security and loss of non recoverable valuables.

The hotel is conveniently located for accessing Cairns Airport for those early morning or late evening flights.

Would like to start off by saying all the staff were lovely, nice and friendly! All international travellers working hard to experience Australia, good for them, and they definitely had their work cut out for them. The place is a mess. It’s dilapidated, needs a lot of work on the room we stayed in which was old, tired and lacking any personality. Our room was infested with ants, even if the MASSIVE gap between the door and the floor was filled these ants would still find almost any way into the kettle, coffee mugs, sometimes even in the beds. The bathroom absolutely stunk, the smell of sewage coming out of all the drains was horrendous, nothing the staff could do about it, needs completely re-plumbing. A couple of our pillows were yellow and battered (not the pillowcase) and could definitely need replacing. Restaurant and bar were closed. Didn’t have WiFi in the room for 4 nights out of 7 however the staff were really helpful to get this fixed for us. There are some highlights, the aircon in the room was amazing! The pools were also great and saw the staff maintaining the cleanliness regularly, however it was often swarming with unsupervised children. Thankfully we got a good deal through Wotif for much less than the standard rate, however for only a few dollars more a night, we decided to move and stayed at Trinity beach in a much nicer self catering apartment.

The cleaning staff were super friendly and helpful! Great pools our kids had a ball, convenient location and a reasonable price. In our 4 days never once did we see reception or restaurant open.
