I wanted to share feedback regarding my recent stay at your property, as it was unfortunately very disappointing. There was no indication prior to booking that the main pool would be under construction and unusable, which was one of the main amenities I was looking forward to. Additionally, my room was located directly next to an active construction site. Large areas of the property were blocked off with caution tape, creating an unpleasant and disruptive environment throughout my stay. To make matters worse, the hot tub was far from hot, and despite multiple attempts to speak with staff about the issue, it was never addressed. I also received a notice about the ongoing construction on the last day of my stay — had I been informed beforehand, I would have chosen to book elsewhere. I do want to note that the front desk staff were the only positive part of my experience. They were courteous, helpful, and professional throughout my stay. Unfortunately, their efforts were overshadowed by the overall conditions and lack of transparency regarding the property’s construction. We spent a significant amount of money on this trip, and it is only fair that guests are made aware of any major construction plans or closures at the time of booking. When guests make reservations, we rely on the photos and reviews provided to make informed decisions, and the conditions I experienced did not align with those expectations.

Our stay was wonderful! The staff was wonderful! The food was wonderful! The only thing that was an issue is that we were not notified that the main pool with the pool bar was closed for construction. Had that been open 10/10!

We were 4 ladies so we asked for 2 rooms with double beds and connecting rooms but we got 1 with double beds and one with king they said they would change us the next day but we decided to just stay that way because we like the location. The first reason we have been coming back now 9 years for a week is the adults section for the calm and quiet but this year after 3 days there were families with kids diving and screaming that we along with other guests did not like even going in the jacuzzi. When we mentioned this to the personal working there they said they had allowed it since the big pool was closed but the lower pool was open and it was not full at all there were over at the adult area . A lot of the adults just left the area could not even swim across the pool with all the kids diving and jumping into the pool. Like I said the lower pool had just a few people there. I just think they should apply the rules of adults only area . All the other amenities were great as always just this major concern and the reason we come back.

The resort was under major construction when we arrived and there was no notice or ad advisory that this resort was under construction during my booking. Upon arrival, the pools were closed due to construction. The sound of construction pierced my ears from the time I woke up until mid evening with them working I couldn’t even enjoy my balcony with the ocean. Sounds because all you heard was drilling the food options were limited, and the best food came from room service, which had a fee and was not included in the all-inclusive package. The staff was not accommodating even with the construction going on. They wanted to charge me an extra $300 for a room upgrade after they messed up my reservation and gave me double beds instead of a king bed. The spa services are horrible. The drinks were not good and the lobby had such a strong perfume smell that gave me a headache every single time I walk through the lobby. This was probably the worst resort I’ve ever stayed at in Cancun.

The resort was nice and staff were super friendly and attentive. The issue was the pool shuts down at 7 pm every night as well as the outside bar.

I had a great holiday, great staffs and facilities but second pool was under repair and limited pool use facility

Only thing I didn’t like was the the pool bar opening so late.

There was so much construction going on, we didn’t even get a notice that there would be. One pool was closed so there was only two pools to swim in.. but worse of all, they had a wall put up (to block the construction area) so you couldn’t even see the ocean from the outside area! The hot tub was murky. They close the pool at 7pm!!! Who doesn’t want to swim after 7pm??? There was so much sargassum on the beach, you had to walk over a giant pile of it to get into the ocean water. The toilet in our room didn’t flush right. And to top it off, the smoke alarm went off at 2am. I will not be staying here again and will not recommend to any of my friends or family. We drive around and there were soooo many better hotels to stay at! Do not choose GR Solaris!

Room was clean and the view was fantastic. The staff were friendly and the pools and grounds were extremely clean and well maintained.

Everything was clean and I feel so good

Loved the place but I big issue that I had was that I called the day I got there to have my sheets changed because when I open the covers, there was blood stains on it. Never had it done until I left. Was there for 4 days. Other than that I loved the place. I’m not sure why they didn’t come clean the place, I had other friends stay there too while we were there as well and they had theirs cleaned.

The room was not completely clean. The Tv did not work and they never came to look at it after I told them about it 2 times. The snack bar was not good and the buffet was ok. They never refilled the drinks in the room. Over all the staff were very nice.

Like: Jacuzzi Dislikes: bed hard/uncomfortable; linen hard/scratchy; bath soap undesirable; had to make dinner reservations for on site restaurants; mold growing on grout in swimming pool; food bland

Rooms were clean, we traveled with a group. Some complained that their neighbors were very loud. Our room smelled like sewage each and every day, likely from the shower drain. Lots of seaweed during September month, they tried their best cleaning it up. No champagne (for club members only, but they did serve red label. The food was mostly the same each day, we are not picky eaters but more variety was preferred. Maid service was great for us, some company complained that their sheets weren’t changed as frequently as they were supposed to be (every other day expectation). The fridge was not restocked regularly. Water bottles provided in the room but not restocked, mist use water dispenser in the hallway to refill. Many were too cold in the room, our temps were fine. Shows were great, restaurant food was great for the most part. Staff was great.

The Air Conditioner Leaked water all over the floor daily

Property had high reviews & i had high expectations. Staff wasnt informative at time of check in and some weren’t friendly. One lady at the “buffet” had such a terrible attitude. The food was terrible. Buffet was extremely limited and didnt have many options. Had limited amounts of food during dinner time. During lunch only had pool bar buffet with pool bar food options only. Not ideal for vegan/ vegetarians. This property/service doesnt level up to other properties ive stayed in previous trips to Cancun. Other than that rooms were clean, comfortable beds and pillows.

-The WiFi provided by the hotel is unstable, especially in the higher-floor rooms where it’s even harder to connect. - I stayed in a room on the 7th floor, and the shower drainage was terrible — after taking a shower, it felt like I was standing in a pool of water. - I tried to book restaurants through the hotel app but never succeeded. Before check-in, I couldn’t make a reservation without a room number. On the first day of my stay, I couldn’t book any restaurant for that day, so I had no choice but to walk in to the buffet restaurant for dinner.

The food was subpar and the drinks were terrible. Even if they offered a free visit I would not return. I had higher expectations. They definitely were not met. The water in the shower didn’t drain properly and the water was intermittently hot. There is a lot of construction activity going on

If you’re looking for peace and quiet in your room after spending the day by the pool or beach, do NOT expect that. The walls are very thin and you can hear absolutely everything from the hall to the rooms next door. It’s unfortunate cause the hotel is actually very pretty and very clean, but you will be woken up very often at night hearing people walking and yelling down the hall and hearing your neighbors talking and laughing. You literally hear it all as if they were IN your room with you. Other than that, the staff is friendly and the hotel is beautiful. The Buffet is DELICIOUS and the staff there are also very friendly and kind.

Air conditioning inconsistent.

The resort was pretty and clean but the restaurants on property were not included. The buffet was basically the same thing each day with minimal themed rotation of foods but the Omelet Lady (Beliva?) was absolutely amazing. The entertainment was lacking with the best night being the Iconic night and the show was 30 minutes long. Irving at the pool was amazing and the beach was beautiful but they reuse their plastic cups so theres always something floating in your cup so bring your own cup if you plan on coming.The rooms were hardly big enough for my family of 3. You're no longer able to go to the sister properties and if you aren't a member... good luck. They dont pester you into memberships but they dont make you feel special to want to get one either. The stay was overall relaxing but not a resort I would return to

The oceanfront room was spectacular. The views were amazing. The food was decent as well - a variety of restaurants to choose from. The resort is beautifully designed, lots of photo ops! the pool with the swim up bar is always fun! The staff is super friendly and always helpful. Loved the service! The highlight is definitely the beach… it’s situated perfectly and is absolutely stunning all day!

The only problem I had was that the door never closed, and it was never fixed

Overall, GR Solaris was an average all inclusive resort. We met some great friendly people from other countries and had a good time. However, I found the resort not being transparent about their choice of room. For example, they are charging extra for beach view room, which is a scam because you can barely see a beach out of the beach view room you booked by paying extra money. If someone wants an actual beach view they have to pay even more, which in my case I had to pay another $75 on the extra I had paid before for a beach few. Buffet food was average. It was extremely difficult to get a reservation at the restaurants they have. Further, some bar tenders look hostile and do not even smile. Amenities needs a serious upgrade. Most of the equipments at the gym were all rusted and looked so old.

I really enjoyed my stay at GR Solaris Cancun. The staff were very friendly, attentive, and welcoming, which made a great impression from the start. The resort itself is beautiful and has a relaxing atmosphere. The only drawbacks were related to the room. My friend and I had to wait until 3:30 p.m. to check in, and although we booked an ocean view, the room provided was more of a partial view — mostly overlooking the building with just a small glimpse of the ocean. We had also requested two beds, but were given one Queen bed instead, which was not ideal since we were traveling together as friends. Overall, the service and hospitality were excellent, but the room did not fully meet our expectations based on the booking.

I booked the room with jetted tub on the balcony and was supposed to have king size bed but originally they had me 2 beds also was supposed to have ocean view and only had partial view when I asked about the room we were told it was an Expedia problem but in 3 years of using Expedia never have I had a booking issue and wasn’t even offered the upgrade after requesting the room after arriving for check in

I didn’t care for the one pool bartender. Any drink I would ask for he acted like they didn’t have it, Even though it was on the hotel drink menu. Then a person had a Superman drink and I asked for that and he told me they didn’t make that. Even though I just watched one of the waiters deliver it to someone else. He was rude to me and I hated ordering from him. Everything else was wonderful.

Excellent service, family friendly.

Resort was clean and rooms were comfortable. Food was good with many choices. We have stayed at many all inclusive resorts and this one I felt like a second class citizen for not being “a member” It was very obvious when you don’t receive pool service ,even when tipping, and we were often told “that is only for members.” Eg Mimosas, sparkling wine , special dinners, certain sitting areas, early dinner reservations etc. I also requested adjoining rooms, months,and then days before we arrived, again at check in and on day two! I was just told “subject to availablity “ and they were never able to accommodate my request! And really did not care. I would not return to this resort.

I don’t recommend it if you are not a member, you get poor services. For example, no hotel transport from the airport. They only offer to the members. We paid $100 round trip for transportation. For dining, I thought you just need to make reservation for the restaurants (as they stated on the website)but we found out we could only do 1 night restaurant because we booked 3 nights. And, we could only reserve our dinning time at 8pm or later even though we have a kid with us because they save 6-8pm to members. We came early to ask if the could let us in early since we have a child. They did and we were excited. But later we found out our menu is different from the menus for members. What a joke! All in all, you should stay away if you are not a member. Walls are very thin, you can hear the TV and people talking from next room.

Good resort, limited restaurants options to nothing me and my family stayed 7 nights and we had only 2 restaurants options beside the buffet where they used the same food everyday, for the 2 restaurants that i saw open you had to set reservations 1-2 days ahead in the Solaris App which wasn’t the easiest. Staff was friendly, when we checked in one of the hotel employee set us up what we thought a pleasant day but instead it was a set up to sell you timeshare, horrible experience they pushed and pushed for you to buy and be a Solaris member. Resort was clean, staff was very fast at their job and serving drinks, drinks very weak.

We traveled during the major snowstorm and called the hotel to ask if we could push our reservation back one day so we could still stay the full week as planned. The hotel told us we had to contact Hotels.com and said there was nothing they could do. Hotels.com then told us to call the hotel. I went back and forth between both several times with no resolution. Because of this, we were charged for a night we never stayed and then had to pay for an additional night to keep the original length of our stay. This was frustrating because the airline we flew with changed our flight just two hours before departure due to weather. Even without travel insurance, they still accommodated us. It made the lack of flexibility from both the hotel and Hotels.com even more disappointing. The food was ok, but not something I’d recommend the hotel for. I’m pregnant and wasn’t drinking, so maybe alcohol would’ve made it better. Checkout was the worst part. My husband was loading our 2 small children into a taxi when I was told we’d be charged $70 per missing wristband. Our 4year old didn’t keep hers on, so we cut it off and saved it, but it had been thrown away in the room trash on the last day. Thankfully, my husband ran back to retrieve it. The staff was unhelpful and rude, and this policy was not clearly explained at checkin. It felt like a hidden fee. If I were rating solely based on checkout, it would be very poor. The overall experience was ok but not one I’d rush to repeat or recommend

It was our first time in Mexico and we couldn’t have stayed at a better place! We absolutely loved it. All the staff were so kind and remembered us whenever we entered a room. They had our go to drinks down and what table we liked and went the extra mile to make our stay amazing! The food was great and many different options, as well as the Mexican restaurant was our favourite at the hotel. The shows every night are a must as the dancers put on such a great performance and create a fun atmosphere. Our rooms were always spotless when we came back from a day at the beautiful pool and the beach was absolutely gorgeous. Highly recommend!!!

All of the workers were kind and attentive. Always staying on top my needs.

The good. The bell captain greeted us and directed us to the front desk and was very polite and welcoming. We received a room upgrade due to our Expedia Gold status. The property was very clean and the pool area was kept well and staff was courteous and helpful and activities were fun. We only ate at the Cafe(buffet) which had excellent food. The bad: Upon arrival we learned no alcohol can be served to non-members before 11am. The specialty restaurants were unavailable to us. The first night we received a call 20 minutes before our 6pm dinner reservation made for us for being an Expedia Gold VIP, informing us that we could not be seated until 920pm which was way too late for dinner. Night number 2, only one of three restaurants was open. We tried to make a reservation at 10am with no reservations available and our last night only two of three restaurants were open with the only availibility being 920pm at Marco Polo. Our mini fridge started with 3 7oz bottles of beer and after drinking 2, they only gave one more. The pool area shutdown by 530pm and jacuzzi by 7pm. With limited entertainment. We were uncertain of activities as the resort app would not load on phones and when we found the screen in tbe elevator lobby on our own, the schedule was not accurate. The gym was ok but small. We will certainly be exploring other options for our next Cancun trip.

To begin we didn’t feel welcome at the check in process and for the most part except for a few staff members we didn’t feel that they care to provide genuine service. We had come at least 4 times to the GR Solaris and this time the food and service was awful, there is no drinks nor food service at the beach area like it use to be before and at the pool area we always had to look for servers if we needed something, as for the restaurants we noticed almost the same type of food every day, there is almos not sea food except for a few times we saw fish but for a place near the sea it is really awful that they do not offer real seafood choices. Our room was always clean and very well taken care of, it is ridiculous that in order to make a reservation on any of the “upscale” restaurants you have to download the GR Solaris App which I think is intrusive and unnecessary. In a few activities we felt left out due to been activities for Associates “Time share holders” only. I have to recognize a few people only that unfortunately I didn’t get their names but they were very helpful and kind and showed genuine respect and help. The lady manager at the buffet, the host from the Oriental restaurant, the host from the Mexican restaurant and the ladys on the guest services right next to where the make coffees with burning alcohol as well as the lady that makes the omelets at the buffet! Thank you for your great service.

Property is beautiful, my ocean view room was the best view to see the entire pool area & ocean beyond. The property is on the beach so the beach is just a few minutes walk from your room. Food was okay, each day there were Hispanic dishes served in the buffet. For break There was usually a chef making fresh omelettes & tacos for how you like. you can make reservations at 4 of the on site . restaurants including oriental and Mediterranean cuisine. Most of the service staff were very friendly during meal service. Some of the staff girls checking guests in for buffet service need some additional training g on being more professional. They shouldn’t be openly flirting with their manager while guests are waiting to be checked in to the buffet. I would book again since the location is gorgeous, but probably during cooler season (if there is one for Cancun)

Overall nice place to visit and relax. Staff are definitely friendly and accommodating. Great entertainment. Food options limited. Drinks and swim up were great. Seaweed galore, so no swimming on the beach but great beach water near by that are beautiful. The best part, no one beating u over the head with time shares..........The view of the beach water was awesome. The clean facility was a plus.

The buffet offered limited food variety, which was disappointing, and the construction of a hotel next door really took away from the overall ambiance of the area.

The property and stay were beautiful. Staff was so nice and friendly. Good was amazing and fresh. However, there was some construction going on next door I would have loved to be made aware of ahead of time.

We couldn't access the beach at all. It was covered with seaweed. The hotel needs to clean it and have it ready for guests.

If you’re looking to lose weight on vacation then this is the place to go food was terrible! Staff is so unfriendly and if you need help with a problem well that falls on you they don’t care to help. I should have known at check in how the stay was going to be but we gave it the benefit of doubt because we are so easy to please!! Couldn’t eat at any of the restaurants because if the app did work everything was full. Emailed corporate while we were there because our stay was so horrible and never heard back. You cant convince me that people aren’t getting paid for good reviews of this place. Stay far away!!!!! I never leave reviews but I can’t let others waste their money! Also they don’t start serving alcohol until 11!!! But you can enjoy the two 8 oz beers they give you in your fridge before then if you want. Place is a joke! Oh and our welcome to the resort party was scheduled for the day that we left. So welcoming

The Expedia VIP rooms in previos years for this place it was a partial ocean view it was fine for as but not this time, no more partial ocean view it was depressing and also they're cutting down so many amenities like the coffee shop hrs. they close soo early, no more free room service yuo have to pay for that, they just to open the second restaurant for breakfast in the morning not anymore, the Food Quality is not the same and they removed a few good dishes and fruit as well and if you like to spend the nights by the beach not anymore they put gates and they closed the gates at some point at night. The CEO. For this place it's looking out for he's own interest only not for the tourist best interest. No I do not recommend this place anymore.

The food at the buffet is the same everyday and there isn’t a huge variety. Somethings served at dinner were at breakfast. The restaurant situation needs to be addressed you can’t even get reservations for some of them. There also needs to be more activities for people to do. The entertainment at night was nice but once that was done early there was nothing else to do. Drinks are also bad. I don’t know if it is the alcohol they are using but something didn’t taste right. I believe this is due to the levels of bands that you get. A guest told me a yellow band allowed you to get top-shelf alcohol. I give it 3 stars because despite being outdated staff was friendly and the place was kept clean.

The resort was very nice, the staff were helpful and eager to please. We had a relaxing 4-day weekend away from reality. We ate well and felt safe. Our two biggest concerns were that they do NOT serve any alcohol beverages before 11 a.m. Yes, you read that correctly. We could not get a clear answer as to why this was; resort rules. We are adults and didn't necessarily appreciate having our alcohol consumption policed. As a VIP member, we created our own mimosas for breakfast using the bottle of champagne that was in our room and we were not able to secure dinner reservations in any of the fine dining restaurants. As a VIP member, they gave us a reservation for 6:00 p.m. on the night we arrived and then called shortly before to let us know that that time was not available and we couldn't get another seating until 9:20 that evening. On the other nights, most of the other ones were closed. We were able to eat in the main dining area and I have to say the food there was probably the most tastiest I'd had ever had at an all-inclusive. It was not all bad -- just those 2 previously mentioned items. We had a great stay. Every resort is not for everyone, and this one was not for us.

aving stayed at resorts like Riu and Paradisus Cancun, I'm accustomed to being greeted with welcome drinks at the door. GR Solaris doesn't provide this. The resort falls short in terms of aesthetics and has limited dining options. The buffet is only open for certain hours and has limited choices. Reservations are necessary for the specialty restaurants. I would suggest GR Solaris for families with small children who don't have high expectations. One positive aspect is that the rooms are cluean. However, you can only get mimosas at breakfast if you have a special wristband.

The facility / grounds were very clean. The process of making a reservation for the restaurants was confusing. The portions and quality of food at restaurants was not worth the time. The buffet was excellent. I would recommend giving a schedule of events/ open times of restaurants upon check in.

It is a really nice, family friendly and convenient resort. The staffs are so nice, supportive and friendly. The pools and amenities are perfect. I loved the pool bar and snack bar around the pool that are making your time in the pool enjoyable. Tequila is so good. Also, they have activities beside the pool such as dance, Zumba in the water, bingo and so on are so interesting. Every night there is different show in the hotel theatre. Buffet restaurant is good, different kind of foods, however it could be better, and add more varieties. The only drawback is about other restaurants. They are fully booked most of the time that we couldn’t book many of them even if we tried soon. We just tried Italian restaurant and the menu was so limited with only a few foods. Also the salad bar in the Italian restaurant was almost empty and wasn’t refilled. Overall we really enjoyed staying in this resort and had a relaxing time.
