Dated hotel, needs some tlc to decor through out. Nice staff though, stayed as it had an ev car charger.. car charger price was nearly x3 more than a tesla charger!

Booked a short notice night 2 days before thinking dinner and Spa in the day. Disappointed on arrival to find the spa fully booked for both days and not even able to use the pool for an hour. Not clear when booking this would be the case so left disappointed on the whole.

We selected this hotel as lovely sauna with jacuzzi was advertised on the website. Please note that Spa is not included in the price and you would have to pay extraordinary £78 for two people to use these facilities!!! Of course treatments would be additional extras, so very expensive sauna indeed! Very disappointing indeed. If we were not mislead by the website, we would stay in another 4* hotel which was £20 cheaper.

£39 to use a swimming pool, what a joke, room smelt fousty and damp, carpets in main corridors dirty! Room was freezing cold, went to reception and told them I can’t stay here and got a full refund. The outside looks lovely Themis soon changes when inside!

We were upgraded to a suite from an executive double room on arrival and I honestly can't see what the difference was, except maybe that we had a corner bath in our sleeping area but it had no screen around it. I found the hotel disappointing in many ways. On arrival, no lift. One of us suffers with a hip problem so this was an immediate difficulty. There was a fan in the room to keep us cool, and it was very hot in the room, but the windows couldn't be opened as they were painted shut! I'm sure this is actually illegal. We wanted to order room service on the second night and using the laminated menu in the room, planned to do so. There were no instructions on the card however, and no phone in the room. So we called the front desk from our mobiles, FOUR times. Nobody answered. In the end one of us went downstairs to order the food, a nice man around the desk asked if we needed help and we explained we wanted food. He said you should have called, we said we did and nobody answered. A girl appeared from the back, eating, and said, I was on my break. So nobody mans the desk on a break early in the evening! Was then sent down to the restaurant ourselves to order, to be told that we can't order off that menu until the restaurant is closed! Again, no info on the menu in the room to say this. So we needed to order off the restaurant menu. Soap was taken from the room that was opened the day before and not replaced, so no soap to wash hands. These were the memories of my trip.

Came here for a change as we visit chesterfield a lot to see family. A nice welcome from reception quick and easy check in. Nice large corner room with garden views, clean room, abit worn round the edges but pleasant. Dinner was tasty in the restaurant also breakfast was plentiful and the staff were really helpful and friendly Plenty of parking and a couple of EV chargers There were a couple of issues with the room however once reception was told all was good when we returned so thumbs up from me We both enjoyed the hotel and I bet in spring/summer the garden will be glorious. It might become our goto place when visiting

Spa is great, but bear in mind that it's not included into ones stay at the hotel. You'll need to call the spa reception and book it separately, and tell your bank details by phone. Also the range of rooms at the hotel don't match with the one at hotels.com. I paid for a suit and hotel's reception got it from the site as "executive". Next time I'll just book it directly with the Ringwood

I booked the hotel for two nights. After the first night my room was not cleaned and someone had clearly entered the room as they placed the do not disturb sign on the door deceiving me and hotel management, but no manager had a checking process. All very poor.

This beautiful building has great potential but is clearly in need of some repairs and updates. Parts of the interior feel dated and worn, with peeling paint visible on the bedroom walls and radiator. The carpet in the room was noticeably dirty, although the bed linen itself was clean. My room was located near a fire exit, and the area around it had spider webs and leaves, which gave an unkempt impression. I would have rated this stay 2 stars based on condition alone, but the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly, which brings it up to 3 stars. As an overnight stop for business users, it’s perfectly adequate. However, if you’re expecting a luxury or spa-like experience, that ship sailed about 25 years ago. Overall, it feels tired and I wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

The first room we were allocated, the bath side was hanging off and dirty, carpet threadbare in places. We were offered an alternative, theoretically better room, however the TV in this room didn't work due to the cable/aerial socket being broken, the sink tap was loose and corroded to the point of being sharp and the cleanliness of the room left much to be desired. Hair from the previous occupant was stuck to the shower wall, a clump of it was on the bedroom floor and the previous occupants glasses were down the side of the bed. The restaurant food (lunch & evening meal) was excellent. This hotel should be stunning but seems to be in great need of a refurb and and significantly better regular maintenance and cleaning.

The hotel’s location was truly beautiful and the highlight of our stay. Unfortunately, the rest didn’t live up to expectations. We booked an executive double room but were given two single beds pushed together. The room felt dated, not particularly clean, and lacked basic conveniences like bedside sockets. For a 4-star hotel, being told to fill water bottles from the bathroom was disappointing, and the amenities were low quality. Overall, not worth the price we paid. The setting was lovely, but the experience fell far short of a true 4-star standard.

The grounds were beautiful...the building looked very nice..the staff lovely..the dining great....the twin room we had was most certainly not 4 star. Very stained carpet...grubby chairs..black mould round bath...one hand towel was disgustingly dirty, still damp, so presumably used by previous occupant.

Gardens were amazing and so we're the common dining areas. Breakfast was continental spread with full English available so good value for the money. Cleanliness has left a lot to be desired.. our bath/shower room had mould growing on the ceiling and the carpets have never been washed. How i know? I accidentally spilled a bit of coffee on the floor and quickly tried to clean it using a bit of TP. What came out was black grime and you could see the original carpet colour.. grim. I don't think the place has been updated for a while. This and we had to return a crusty towel to reception as it wasn't clean... And I only noticed it when actually using it so I had to have another shower Needless to say we won't be staying here again. A shame really as the staff is great and very attentive.

Honestly, the staff prevented this from being a 1-2 star review. While I don’t often leave reviews, this felt necessary. The room was incredibly outdated, the water pressure would have been more effective if people stood over you and spat at you, there was at least a 2-3 inch gap at the bottom of the door allowing all of the noise and light in from the corridor and the windows are so ineffective at keeping noise out that you were basically in the back of the ambulance going past. I certainly wouldn’t stay again and can only think that the 4* rating is provided due to the immaculate grounds, building and spa. Well done on employing fantastic staff members though I guess!

Old and tired. Damp stains. Windows couldn't be opened. No window in WC. Bath IN THE ROOM - not in the en-suite, which was just WC and basin. No shower. We did not use the bath because we did not want our bedding/ rest of the room to get damp! Very odd decor. Not romantic.

We only stayed one night as we were up to visit our pup for the first time. We had no serious negatives about the hotel with the only exception to a bit more character in the room. Our room was a spacious double, which was clean with a very large, comfortable kingsize. We did book a table in the restaurant and the food was extremely good. It is a shame it wasn’t as busy as we expected, specially as it was 5 days to Xmas. If you stay, I would recommend the restaurant. The food and service was very good. Breakfast did the trick for us! Overall, we will be staying again in mid January and if it was not that good, we would have stayed elsewhere. Worth noting, if you are at the far end of the hotel, it will be worth checking out the stairs downstairs before the main staircase as they are shortcuts to the bar and restaurant.

Very good overall. Friendly staff, spacious rooms, good night sleep. Best steak I've had for a long time in the restaurant, although their prices have gone up quite a lot since I was last there 6 months ago. Some parts of room looking a little tired (furniture, shower, heater all looking quite battered and old) and due a refresh, but doesn't take away from overall value and good stay. I will stay again no question

The big let down of this hotel is the WiFi. In our room 135 we had 1.5 Mbs. Previous reviews rang warning bells I should have taken notice! Evening a signal in the dining room was very poor.

We wanted to order room service on the second night and using the laminated menu in the room, planned to do so. There were no instructions on the card however, and no phone in the room. So we called the front desk from our mobiles, FOUR times. Nobody answered. In the end one of us went downstairs to order the food, a nice man around the desk asked if we needed help and we explained we wanted food. He said you should have called, we said we did and nobody answered. A girl appeared from the back, eating, and said, I was on my break. So nobody mans the desk on a break early in the evening! Was then sent down to the restaurant ourselves to order, to be told that we can't order off that menu until the restaurant is closed! Again, no info on the menu in the room to say this. So we needed to order off the restaurant menu. Soap was taken from the room that was opened the day before and not replaced, so no soap to wash hands. These were the memories of my trip.
We were upgraded to a suite from an executive double room on arrival and I honestly can't see what the difference was, except maybe that we had a corner bath in our sleeping area but it had no screen around it. I found the hotel disappointing in many ways. On arrival, no lift. One of us suffers with a hip problem so this was an immediate difficulty. There was a fan in the room to keep us cool, and it was very hot in the room, but the windows couldn't be opened as they were painted shut! I'm sure this is actually illegal. Payed for upgraded room with the bigger Dubble bath tub however the plug didn’t work so bath would not fill and to top it of was on a busy main road all you could hear was traffic zooming past the windows all night had a quieter night at premiere inn !

Room was spacious and clean but the mattress was way too soft for us. The WiFi was poor as it kept disconnecting. The room had an overall smell of cleaning fluid. The breakfast was average however the staff were very friendly and helpful. Car parking was good.

We booked a standard double room. This turned out to be in an old staff cottage alongside and lower than, a busy road. It was noisy and dark. The bathroom radiator did not work. Staff were pleasant and breakfast fine, but the room was very disappointing. Would not stay here again.

Arrived at the hotel to a warm welcome by reception staff. Allocated Standard Double room no. 134 Very spacious room with large comfortable bed. There was an iron/hairdryer/fan available in the room. The wardrobe had very few hangers so bring some of you need more than about 5. The walls are paper thin as I could hear conversations next door. Drunk women in room next to us that wouldn't shut up till past 12:30am that even ear plugs wouldn't completely drown out, and then was woken at 6:10am by them chattering again! I asked reception if they were moving out that next day which thankfully they did! I did hear someone arrive that next day however, in the early hours and was woken briefly at 1:30am but they seemed to quickly settle. There are a few concerns with this room which I never got a chance to raised on checkout due to cancelled trains and having to rush to get easier one. I choose not to raise these during my visit as I want to relax and have peace and not be bothered by maintenance. The hotel has seen much better days and is certainly not 4 star but probably was in its day. There was bad case of black mould in various parts

Stayed one night on a business trip. Found the ‘Executive’ room bathroom not cleaned thoroughly. Spa was expensive with ome parts not working. Booked dinner for 7.30pm, kept waiting for 20 minutes for a table even though plenty of free tables, shambolic running of restaurant with average food. Breakfast better but pricey. Wouldn’t bother staying here again.

The trip we had was great, the hotel had beautiful grounds and magnificent rooms. What an idyllic location to sit with your loved one and I could not complement the food or the restaurant any more. Staff were helpful and could not do enough to help. Would absolutely visit again.

They tried to charge me £63 for something.. I didn't spend a penny there. When asked what are the charges were for.. they couldn't tell me!! I think the staff added it as I complained twice about the drum and bass music blasting out from the kitchen!!

The staff and service were awesome! I was having a terrible day and the guy at the front desk gave me a free upgrade... that totally turned my day around!!! The breakfast staff was super friendly and attentive too!!! Thanks for a great stay!! Next time will book spa atay as well!!

Restaurant service poor. No toilet paper for two days, towels not replaced on one day, duvet taken one day and not replaced. Night shift staff left a lot to be desired.

Arrived for breakfast half hour before finish to find all fruit and pastries gone. Smoothie jug empty and buffet looking very sad. Asked staff who said it was eaten earlier. Staff brought out enough fruit for two people ( 4 of us ) and said the pastries would take too long to bake. To be fair to the receptionist we were given a refund when complaining. On arrival also ordered two flat whites. Coffees arrived with no froth. Staff explained the frother wasn’t working ?? . Coffee taken back but still had to ask for them to be taken off bill. Nice place, the gardens are lovely, spoilt by staff not providing a quality service to reflect the establishment.

TV never worked but was replaced. Staff memeber at the Spa was rude. Room comfortable, breakfast average. Breakfast and reception staff very helpful. Location great for the Peak District and great pubs with amazing food just a short drive away.

An enjoyable short break at Ringwood Hall Hotel. It's in a beautiful location with plenty of parking spaces. The local bus service is a very short distance away so we can leave the car behind. Going into Chesterfield is easy. We have not yet used many of the hotel's facilities, but this break away serves our purpose for relaxing and finding time to stop the pace of life and enjoy just being "us"!

Really lovely location, convenient for Chesterfield and Chatsworth (25 min drive) which was the purpose of our visit. The room was spacious and comfortable in the Coach House part of the building. My only niggle - and this is very much first world problems - was that it would be handy to have bedside plugs. The only accessible plug in the room was near the kettle. Otherwise we had excellent service, a good meal in the evening and the spa facilities were lovely!

Came here for a change as we visit chesterfield a lot to see family. A nice welcome from reception quick and easy check in. Nice large corner room with garden views, clean room, abit worn round the edges but pleasant. Dinner was tasty in the restaurant also breakfast was plentiful and the staff were really helpful and friendly Plenty of parking and a couple of EV chargers There were a couple of issues with the room however once reception was told all was good when we returned so thumbs up from me We both enjoyed the hotel and I bet in spring/summer the garden will be glorious. It might become our goto place when visiting

Not as posh as it could and showing some signs of distress, but it served its purpose for a room for the night. The Coachhouse restaurant is nice though with really nicely presented food served. Not a huge selection on the menu to choose from but what there is tastes as good as it looks. Waiting staff are knowledgeable and friendly and make you feel right at home. Breakfast is okay I suppose nothing as special as the evening meals and I’d like to have a coffee pot on the table rather just a cup full.

A beautiful, elegant hotel in a quiet location. The room was spacious, clean with tv, tea facilities, hairdryer & bath/ shower. Although dinner lacked any real choice as a vegan ( the only option was winter salad minus the honey & mustard vinaigrette) and chunky chips) breakfast was out of this world and the staff were far more accommodating. We accessed the spa facilities with a separate booking, which were amazing. A lovely little relaxing break.

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights but I won’t be returning. Casa hotel is not too far away with much better facilities and the food selection is much superior not to mention the great quality.

Very good overall. Friendly staff, spacious rooms, good night sleep. Best steak I've had for a long time in the restaurant, although their prices have gone up quite a lot since I was last there 6 months ago. Some parts of room looking a little tired (furniture, shower, heater all looking quite battered and old) and due a refresh, but doesn't take away from overall value and good stay. I will stay again no question

Great hotel with beautiful gardens. Evening meal had limited menu but quality of food was great. Breakfast also very good. Ample parking. Very friendly staff. Our room was well decorated with huge 6ft bed, but the ensuite was a bit tired with one of the towel radiator brackets broken and the bath/shower had a little bit of mould on the grout, probably due to the room having so window or extractor fan though this didn't affect our stay.

Pretty hotel and handy for visiting the Peak District.Dinner was excellent, good choices and faultless..breakfast a little chaotic with less emphasis on quality but staff always had a smile.I was staying with my elderly parents and there a lot of staircases to negotiate and sadly there was no hot water one evening meaning we had to use the kettle to continue a bath.Other than that, the hotel was ideally placed for what we wanted to do.

Booked a suite and never received a dirty, smelly room in my life. A suite is supposed to be a premium room & experience….i wouldn’t let my dog board in it. Mind you, with the smell coming from it there clearly had been dogs staying in it. Window blinds, surface tops and linen all filthy. It should be an embarrassment to the hotel. I received a full refund so that tells you how bad they perceived their own room to be.

What be came apparent really quickly was that what I paid for was not what I got. We booked a superior room and got a 4ft 6 inch bed now dont get me wrong the room was nice but as we are not built for such a small bed hence why booking with a kingsize bed. May be I should have complained but when you have been at work all day all you want to do is rest. Will not visit again as sleeping in a tub chair was not fun!

We booked a superior room and got a 4ft 6 inch bed now dont get me wrong the room was nice but as we are not built for such a small bed hence why booking with a kingsize bed. May be I should have complained but when you have been at work all day all you want to do is rest. Will not visit again as sleeping in a tub chair was not fun!
