Best location on the Strand, close to Covent Garden, Traflagar Sq etc...best G&T at the Gin Palace

Public areas are really nice and friendly staff, but difficult to find the room as hotel is like a labyrinth. If you have your room in the higher floors be prepared that it takes time to get there. World slowest elevators and the labyrinth is challenging combination.

Single rooms are small but nicely contains everything you need. Bed was comfy and like small reading light by the bed. Also like hotel has introduced refillable water bottles in rooms and plenty of water bottle fountains.

Great location. Walking distance to many attractions and public transportation. Room was clean, bed was super comfortable, shower had good water pressure. Cost of breakfast was reasonable, especially when paired with coupon for skipping housekeeping. Water refill stations by elevators were very convenient. Fantastic hotel. Would definitely stay there again.

Clean room although mould in several areas on the bathroom. Shower had very low water pressure meaning washing hair was not easy. Only 2 lifts working so sometimes had to wait 20 mins for a lift - not good enough for a wheelchair user. We had to use a different lift and then drag ourselves up the stairs on two occasions.

Excellent facility with a great 24hr gym. The staff were all fantastic always with a smile on their faces. The breakfast was great - but the coffee needs some work! It was close to many wonderful sites in London Will definitely return!

The Strand Palace was well located and within easy walking distance of many of London’s attractions, a great perk for exploring the city. Charing Cross station is just a five-minute walk away, making it easy to arrive by train and avoid spending too much money on taxis. The hotel itself was clean and well-equipped with all the necessary amenities (breakfast is available for an additional £15 per person, which is worth it), and the staff were all great. There were a few drawbacks. The rooms were on the smaller side, though this was hardly an issue as we spent most of our time out and about. The lifts were extremely slow, with only three serving hundreds of rooms, and one was out of order for most of our stay. Our check-in experience was also frustrating: we were initially offered the wrong room, and the one we were eventually given was already occupied, which was exhausting after a long day. Despite these inconveniences, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found the Strand Palace to be an excellent base for a London visit.

Very convenient location, friendly staff. Room was clean but very small and dated. Had an issue with the toilet that was not completely resolved, resulting in noise. On one occasion we left tag on door to not clean room, returned to find the room partially cleaned and the door left ajar so that anyone could have pushed it open and entered.

Shower water pressure was poor. Shower grout was mouldy. Shower gel was water. Small room for the price.

I was very disappointed with my stay at this hotel. Upon checking in, the bathroom had a strong, unpleasant odor and the towels smelled like vinegar. I immediately brought this to the staff’s attention, but instead of offering a proper solution such as changing the towels or cleaning the room, they simply offered me an air freshener. This is unacceptable for a hotel stay, especially at check-in when the room should be in its best condition. A more proactive approach and better customer service would have made a huge difference. Unfortunately, this experience left a negative impression and I will likely consider other options next time.

Impressed by cleanliness of room--bathroom seemed brand-new. Breakfast buffet had many options, every table received its own carafe of brewed coffee. Staff was very friendly. Would highly recommend.

Room small considering it was supposed to be a queen room. Had to move furnature to use wardrobe or fridge. Bathroom small, toilet too close to wall and shelf directly above.

Impossible to open/shut the window. AC slightly noisy. No chairs in the room. Otherwise, we were very pleased with our stay.

I stayed in a classic single room with a twin bed and it was great. The room was nice, the bed was comfortable, and there are shutters for the window to block the light for an amazing sleep. One word of caution, if you are tall, the shower in the single rooms might be really tight. While the breakfast is convenient, it is not great, honestly. You’re better off going elsewhere. All in all though, a great, walkable place to stay close to everything!

Staff courteous, room temperature was hard to control, either cold and humid or warm and stale air, no flow. A lot of street noise through drafty windows. Elevators limited, one out of order 3 from the 5 days! Breakfast poor!

Staff lovely but room too small for 2 people. Should be classed as a single room. No chair or table to be able to sit on or work at.

The first room I checked into had a terrible man in the room next door- shouting and kicking the shared wall. Security did not hear anything, so I requested a change of room. Staff quickly took care of that, which I appreciate, but the next room had a lot of hallway noise- doors slamming, some kind of cool structure in a room nearby. For such a nice hotel in a convenient tourist location, and for what I paid for the room, I’d have expected it to be a little quieter and frankly a little nicer.

We had a nice time however check in was really difficult. They required physical ID which I didn’t have on me. I am from the UK and have never been asked for this before to check in to a hotel in my own country. They also tried to charge us for breakfast when I clearly showed my booking information staring breakfast was included. I was told to ‘wait’ whilst they obtained authorisation from elsewhere. We’ve stayed here before. I think it’s gone downhill with customer service.

Very disappointing stay at the Strand Palace (22–24 August). I’ve stayed here five years in a row, but this time the experience was poor from start to finish. Check-in queues were extremely long, with only 2 of 5 desks staffed, and neither of my rooms were ready after the 3pm check-in time. Staff showed no empathy when I explained I had an elderly parent with me. The first night was disrupted by loud neighbours until at least 2am, and although security attended, no one followed up. Finally, the view from the room was a brick wall, which felt very careless given I’d booked two rooms. Overall, the service fell far short of previous visits, and I left feeling let down and exhausted.

Check in was busy but the queue moved fairly quickly. I asked for a quiet room and although it was away from the road, there was noise from an air conditioning unit. When I got to my room the tv did not work, after a call to reception the issue was resolved by one of the maintenance team but it was a bit of an inconvenience

Absolutely fantastic stay from start to finish. We were greeted my Joseph the porter when we arrived and was helped with everything we needed. The staff were truly amazing nothing was too much trouble, very clean & tidy, room very comfortable and food and drinks were lovely. Highly recommended we shall return

Great central location for London. Huge hotel with plenty of rooms, early check-in was not a problem for them. Staff extremely helpful and were happy to hold onto our cases for the rest of the day after we had checked out.

Location was great for going to the theater which was why we were there! Excellent front desk and everyone was super helpful. Would stay again!

It took 3 trips to the front desk on check-in to get a working key. We left the placard on the door to have the room cleaned, went out for about 6 hours and came back to find the room had not been cleaned. We had to contact the front desk to have it done, at one point, needing to actually go to the front desk, since no one was answering the phone, either in housekeeping or reception. The day before we checked out, we opted to have a light breakfast in their "Gin Palace" room. The menu stated there was a breakfast deal of any coffee and one pastry or any coffee and one sandwich, which is what we had. When I got the bill, we had been charged separately for each item and I needed to ask for the bill to be corrected. It's a shame because the hotel is lovely and the location's ideal, but I feel we should have been offered a free drink or SOMETHING for the poor services. That would be the classy thing to do. And we paid top dollar, since we had a more expensive room. Meanwhile, our friends were staying around the corner at the Waldorf Hilton. They had a problem with the electricity and had to move to another room. They were greeted with a fruit basket and given 4 free drinks for their trouble. I thought to speak with the manager, but opted not to, as I am not one to be a "complainer". but I feel that the staff should have taken the reins on this.

Receptionist needed some customer service skills on check in. He wasnt welcoming. Also yold me a security fee was being charged to my account? Whats that all about. It wasnt explained. Everything else was good

Everything was as I had expected, it is a reliable, comfortable, hotel. The service is excellent, and the breakfast is the best you'll find anywhere for quality and variety. It is my first choice for a stay in London, the location is ideal for seeing many of the main sights on foot, and of course has plenty of public transport. It's close proximity to Covent Garden, and the Opera House, is a real bonus too. I highly recommend the Strand Palace Hotel.

Great location, very clean, friendly staff. Great tube options making it very easy to get around. Direct tube from Heathrow to Covent Garden and its a short walk to hotel.

The Strand Palace Hotel is a very nice hotel in a great location along the Strand - within walking distance to the Charing Cross rail station and other places of interest such as the Somerset House. Oddly, they could not link my extra night booking to my original … so I had to check out and back in!

Super convenient location close to Covent Station (Piccadilly line) from Heathrow. Walkable to Thames Bridges (but not Tower Bridge - easy Tube ride away), Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus, Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, etc. Rooms are air conditioned if very hot outside and a typical European size - cozy but functional. Excellent restaurant on ground floor. Coal Hole Pub is right across the street - Sunday Roast Beef was the best!

Location for the theatres was perfect , we were welcomed by the doorman who carried our bags up the lobby for us, very clean and modern

My stay at Strand Palace Hotel was excellent. Everything about the room was perfect, and the location was terrific, especially for if you are seeing any theatre productions.

The Strand Palace Hotel was an excellent stay, beds comfortable, rooms lovely, staff amazing and wow what a lovely breakfast. We were lucky enough to eat in the Haxells restaurant one evening and had an amazing steak! We would recommend anyone to stay here, not the cheapest hotel but well worth the extra to stay here. Great central location, and even though on the Strand the windows sound deadening wooden shutters were great at noise cancellation and blacked out the room.

Breakfast! The Strand needs to go back to self service! One chef plating your selected items is ridiculous, guessing they are trying to limit how much food you take however as a result to this, the queue to get food was at 8am at least 20 people waiting, When I left there was probably another 30 people waiting for a table. Not very good!!

We were excited to stay at a prestigious London Hotel.. However the Strand Palace is pretty much a TravelLodge in disguise.. Breakfast is expensive, pretty poor and non refundable. Walk out to the street, turn left and two doors down you can find a wonderful cafe with what looked like a fantastic breakfast for less...
