Older style property with a very grand garden. We only stayed one night which may not be enough time to fully judge the property. Very close to Edinburgh Airport & plenty of car parking which is why we selected it

Fabulous team . Really sincere and helpful A shout out to David, James and the breakfast team :) Great access to the Spa as the pool is perfect depth for beginners . Excellent breakfast . Handy to catch the tram into Edinburgh even offering a shuttle for the short journey to the Tram stop. Would stay again for sure .

Norton House is a gem just a 15 minute drive from the Edinburgh airport, and you don't have to drive through the city to get there. The hotel and grounds are beautiful, the rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly and the food at the restaurant was very good. We didn't use the pool or spa, but it looked lovely. We greatly appreciated the free parking. I would highly recommend this hotel, especially as a final destination before your trip to the airport.

Norton House Hotel and Spa is absolutely lovely! The grounds are beautiful, and the staff is very helpful and polite. The breakfast is very good, the beds are comfortable, and the room was clean. The only part I didn’t care for was it saying “air conditioning “. We are from the Southern part of the US, so a/c is something we look for. Not every room has a/c, ours didn’t. So, ask for it on the front end if you sleep better with a cool room. Apparently we visited the area when it was warmer than their usual weather, so we were hot while we slept. There was a fan, so we had the window open with the fan on to help pull air in. Other than clarifying about the a/c, we have nothing negative to say. We enjoyed our stay!

We enjoyed our stay - the reception staff were brilliant. Helped us get an early check and taxis when needed. Until our room was ready we used the Spa which was nice. Pur room was excellent - their website and photos really undersold it... Big room, nice balcony, TV in the bath, separate shower... Other areas seemed dated and some.of the restaurant staff seemed new - but all were helpful and polite.

Room was very clean and spacious, had a flight cancellation and they were very accommodating with the last minute reservation and changing morning flight.

The original building and grounds are lovely. The "newer" hotel wing where I stayed on the ground level did not have much natural light and felt removed from the charm of the historic hotel. The bathroom had a noticeable unpleasant sewer smell. If booking this hotel, I suggest inquiring as to the location of your room. I was disappointed for the amount of money the hotel charges

Our room was spacious and clean with all the amenities including coffee/tea making facilities and fresh milk. The bathroom is large and well equipped with a rain head shower and a separate bath. There was also a flannel which I think necessary when using shower gel but not many properties have one. It's just a shame that we only had one night here.

We have stayed here many times, this time was for my mother’s 70th. Room was a nice size and clean. Starting to look a little shabby in places both in room and bathroom. We used the spa and gym, really clean has great facilities. Staff are always helpful and friendly. We ate at the restaurant on the first night only as there wasn’t much choice so would have just ate the same thing two nights in a row. Restaurant and public areas well kept and has a lovely atmosphere. Will see you next year

Love this hotel! Have visited several times and it gets better every time. Staff, accomodation, cleanliness, facilities all very good. Could not fault this hotel. Great location, quiet. Easy access to Edinburgh by car, bus, tram or taxi. Near airport but you barely notice flights taking off!!

Lovely hotel close to the airport. I stayed as I was attending a conference on-site. The surroundings are beautiful and there is a modern spa which is nice. My room was in an older part of the hotel which could do with a little TLC but there is also a large new build adjacent. Good hearty Scottish breakfast included.

This hotel is excellent, staff very helpful, room very comfortable, great breakfast in the morning. However, we were in a room next to the lift, whenever the lift went up and down, it made a kind of whooping noise. This meant my sleep was disturbed a couple of times in the early morning, when people used the luft.

It's hard to believe this property is less than three miles from the airport, with it's green lawns and small wooded area onsite. It was quite the counterpoint to hear the planes taking off one minute, then the sheep in the nearby field the next. Our room was a bit hot (mid-May), but the hotel did provide a fan which cooled things down. The towel warmer in the bathroom could not be turned off, and was very hot, which made us nervous, but we just made sure to stay well away from it whenever we were in there. Nice breakfast buffet, plenty of choices; dinner was a bit expensive, but delicious as well. One of our favorite places to stay when in Edinburgh. Will definitely stay here again in the future.

My room was lovely. Unexpectedly large with a luxurious bathroom and an unexpected balcony. The hotel was inside its own park with lots of room for rambling. The inside was a bit of a maze but in a quaint old building sort of way.

While our stay was overall good, our initial room presented a few inconveniences that required us to move. The air conditioning unit was disruptively noisy, and we were concerned to learn from maintenance that this was a pre-existing issue, raising questions about why we were allocated this specific room. In addition to the AC, this first room also had a non-functional bathroom TV and the wall outside the bathroom showed signs of wear. Despite these initial issues, we were consistently impressed by the friendly and professional demeanour of the hotel staff.

Norton House was even better than described. The junior suite had two bathrooms, one with a TV over the tub, daily maid service, and a balcony. Food was spectacular and the service perfect, like living at Downton Abbey. Don't miss the champagne afternoon tea.

We are home from a wonderful long Easter weekend as a family at Norton House. I had been hesitant about booking for a family stay as I hadn't seen much in the reviews about peoples experiences taking children here. Suffice to say, I'm incredibly glad I booked! We upgraded to an executive room before arrival which was really straightforward to do. When we got there we were greeted by the kindest women at reception and the manager(?) who surprised my son with an Easter egg. David who showed us to our room was fantastic at making us feel welcome and gave us loads of great information. Our room was beauitful, clean and spacious with excellent amenities - our sons highlights were the tv in the bathroom, having his own "VIP" bathrobe, getting the double sofa bed to himself and the room service milk & cookies before bed - he really was a VIP! The spa and swimming facilities were excellent and every member of staff we came across over the weekend (here and in the hotel) was so warm and friendly. We were spoilt for choice with breakfast both mornings courtesy of the lovely selection of continental options, the breakfast buffet and the added made to order options on the menu. All the personal touches throughout our stay really made it a super special weekend and we will definitely be back the next time we return to Edinburgh.
We are home from a wonderful long Easter weekend as a family at Norton House. I had been hesitant about booking for a family stay as I hadn't seen much in the reviews about peoples experiences taking children here. Suffice to say, I'm incredibly glad I booked! We upgraded to an executive room before arrival which was really straightforward to do. When we got there we were greeted by the kindest women at reception and the manager(?) who surprised my son with an Easter egg. David who showed us to our room was fantastic at making us feel welcome and gave us loads of great information. Our room was beauitful, clean and spacious with excellent amenities - our sons highlights were the tv in the bathroom, having his own "VIP" bathrobe, getting the double sofa bed to himself and the room service milk & cookies before bed - he really was a VIP! The spa and swimming facilities were excellent and every member of staff we came across over the weekend (here and in the hotel) was so warm and friendly. We were spoilt for choice with breakfast both mornings courtesy of the lovely selection of continental options, the breakfast buffet and the added made to order options on the menu. All the personal touches throughout our stay really made it a super special weekend and we will definitely be back the next time we return to Edinburgh.

Had an excellent overnight, every single member of staff was so friendly and helpful. Our room was great, really spacious, clean & had everything we needed. The bed was so comfy, we had a great night’s sleep. Breakfast was delicious, lots of choice for the hot options. We came for our wedding menu tasting which was amazing, the food & wine was so good and we were well looked after. Thanks so much, can’t wait to have our big day here & are even more confident our guests will love it too after our experience last night.

This is a wonderful hotel. Everything was amazing. The staff were kind and incredibly helpful. They have boots “wellies” you can borrow to keep your feet dry during muddy excursions. As well as some really nice umbrellas ‘brollies’ to keep the rain at bay. Even though it’s a little ways away from the castle area of Edinburgh there is a park and ride close by. Uber’s are around 20 pounds each way. The spa was also a wonderful experience. Finally, the food at the hotels restaurant was top notch. We will be back when we are back.

I arrived late from the airport and was greeted by friendly reception staff and even had someone help deliver my suitcase to my room. The room was a good size, very comfortable and had higher end additions such as fresh milk in the fridge and lovely bathroom products. The spa was great. So nice to start the next morning with a swim followed by a tasty breakfast. There was a great menu to choose from. Loved my stay and wish it could have been longer!

The property was a way out from Edinburg but easily accessible from the Tram at Ingliston park and Ride. The hotel offers a shuttle to the tram at specific times. The hotel is very nice with a beautiful spa and the staff was extremely accommodating.

I highly recommend it. The staff is kind, the surrounding area is beautiful, and the food is amazing. The spa area is really great and well-organized. It’s a bit far from Edinburgh city centre, but still very nice.

25.00 price for breakfast is poor. They say it’s 15.00 when booked at check in but we didn’t know if we wanted breakfast and didn’t want anything apart from coffee and a pastry which at 25.00 each is poor and feels a bit of a rip off.

We have stayed here many times, this time was for my mother’s 70th. Room was a nice size and clean. Starting to look a little shabby in places both in room and bathroom. We used the spa and gym, really clean has great facilities. Staff are always helpful and friendly. We ate at the restaurant on the first night only as there wasn’t much choice so would have just ate the same thing two nights in a row. Restaurant and public areas well kept and has a lovely atmosphere. Will see you next year

Excellent alternative to an airport hotel with beautiful countryside surroundings. The spa was convenient and large (open to locals as well), and the restaurant was outstanding. Congrats for making our last night in Edinburgh a delightful experience.

Beautiful resort just on the fringes Edinburgh, spectacular spa facilities. The room was spacious, clean, with lots of character. The indoor swimming pool is clean, modern, with sauna room, hot tub and other amazing alternatives to relax. We travelled by car and we found it very easy to visit the old city by dropping our vehicle in the nearby park and ride and catch a tram from there. The restaurant is great, excellent steakes, atmospheric and a gigantic pizza for the kid...the only small complain is that the service was a bit distracted for this kind of fine dining experience, asked for the dessert menu three times then decided to just ask the bill. Just a minor issue, overall great experience and we'll try other options from the same hotel chain closer to home.

The chairs outside were filthy and large hamoc/chair broken. Simple, just don't put them out until they are ready. Service/friendliness not great considering the fact you are paying high end rates. Room was luxurious, good was great, spa area was lively - massages skip, paid for 25min and got about 15min for a high price. Basically you pay,for the day,spa + the massage, at,minimum it should have been a full 25min.
