We planned to stay again in this motel, after our last wonderful experience. The room we got had Queen bed, single bed and sofa. The room was big, spacious, cleaned, comfy beds with nice and clean bathroom (toilet & shower). The other amenities in room were TV, microwave, fridge, electric cooktop and heater. The views from the motel is great (mountains & glacier), close to restaurants, stores and Lake Matheson, parking in front of your room. Overall a good experience staying in the motel with no complaints, humble host and plus cheap deal.

Don't stay here. Very poor WiFi, no WiFi one night, no one helped. Extremely cold in the room, A/C is very loud and hot air directly blow to you adjacent to your bed. No bed making service, only new towels... We left one day earlier and (of course, no refund..) stayed at another hotel, which was much nicer and better customer service.

The shower was not great poor stream and at a strange height There was no dedicated air con other than a portable fan which was noisy and there was no flyscreen on the sliding door so could not open it due to mozzies and chickens - yes chickens !

The location is excellent — right on the road to Lake Matheson and very close to Fox Glacier Guiding, which was ideal for our early morning trip. There’s also a great view of the mountains from the property, which was a real highlight. The room itself was a good size and the kitchenette had enough plates and cutlery for a short stay. The receptionist was friendly and welcoming. However, as other reviewers have mentioned, the room felt very tired and in need of refurbishment. We had a room with a jacuzzi bath, but it wasn’t particularly inviting to use. The shower pressure was also quite poor. Overall, a convenient base in a beautiful location, but the property would really benefit from an update.

Tolle Aussicht auf den Gletscher von der Terrasse. Viel Platz und ganz gute Ausstattung. Leider sind die Räumlichkeiten ziemlich in die Jahre gekommen und muffig. Es riecht sehr unangenehm. Ich persönlich bin da empfindlich und konnte es nicht ertragen. Wen das nicht stört, kann dort gut ein, zwei Nächte bleiben. Allen anderen würde ich davon abraten.

The views from my room were magnificent. You could see the snow tipped mountains but there were also lots of misty fogs moving in and out, which provided a great visual. My room came with all the amenities, but it was not particularly clean. There were things under the bed and the carpet by the sliding glass door in the back was filthy. The water pressure in the shower is very faint. The staff was very nice and helpful, and all in all, it was worth the money.

Highly dissapointed and wouldn't recommend it at all. Wish we had read other reviews online as the unit absolutely stunk of urine. Unit doors were all open on arrival to disguise it I expect. Other reviews stated they had joy when dealing with managers and our payment had already gone through. We got out of there at 6.30am after a rough nights sleep and $184 lighter - an absolute rip off! How it can be left like this is very bad and possibly poses a health risk. What would have been a nice motel a few years back is not being maintained well at all. Tainted our stay in Fox particularly after two great nights in Franz and Hoki

This motel was just ok. I was surprised the room wasn’t cleaned daily like most motels, we stayed 5 night and had to ask for fresh towels and more toilet paper. The fridge was set to such a high temperature it froze all our food ruining everything. The bathroom didn’t have a fan, which meant the room fogged up each time we had a shower. I would not stay here again.

We’ve traveled New Zealand for three weeks. This hotel is by far the most realistic from pictures on their site. Staff is SO friendly and helpful, just awesome. Be sure to do the glow worm walk! We’d definitely stay again.
