The view is amazing! The breakfast is worth the price. The facilities are kinda old but the room is clean and big. There is a plaza nearby with lots of restaurants and shops. But it's not walkable in the night time cause there is no light on the street.

The room was ùnsuitable for someone with mobility problems as the living space & kitchen were up 12 stairs & the bedrooms & bathroom downstairs! This was not advised! Despite being advertised from 6pm, we were refused room service until after 8pm as they "were too busy!" One of the venue's own vans was parked in the sole disabled person's carpark! Very disappointing for an upmarket accommodation venue!!

The property it self is well located to the township, which is within a walkable distance. However the room was a cupboard, once you put your bags down you couldn't get round the bed; no other furniture in the room, not good for the price you paid, no views of the lake and parking wasn't enough for the rooms allocated in that area. Room Service facilities is also poor, they would only deliver food not drinks (water). Upside was the breakfast buffet is good.

Pros: the property is very close to the lake and within walking distance of the main Lake Tekapo area. Cons: check-in took a lot longer than it should have, and staff seemed rather blasé. Was expecting better customer service from its other reviews. Also worth noting - they have 2 washers and 2 dryers. Don’t do your laundry here though- they’re not maintained well. The dryer took over 2 hours to get anything dry.

The room was clean and the views were beautiful. Location is great, right on the lake across from the restaurants and star gazing tours. Parking area was full and difficult to find a space near the room. Overall, it was a very good choice to see and experience this beautiful lake.

Peppers was close to town however that's the only thing it has going for it. Our room was a shoebox which wasn't what I expected for how much we paid, and I think the photos do a good job of masking this. The bathroom exhaust was broken so our small room was also dank, damp and had black mould growing on the ceiling and between the tiles in the bathroom. The bathroom door had water damage and peeling paint. When this issue was raised with reception they offered to change our room but then quickly realised they couldn't do that as they must have been fully booked out for the weekend. Instead they said housekeeping would check on it (in a tone that suggested they didn't believe us), and subsequently nothing was done about the mould or the exhaust. Would not come back here, you're better off staying in a hostel.

Staff was excellent but the rooms have seen better days - it smelled like Old Lady perfume was used liberally to cover up musty smell. The bathroom had peeling paint and mold/mildew growing over the shower. I can see that these rooms were once excellent but they’re generally tired and need maintenance / almost all the walls needed paint touch ups. The rooms were clean and bedding fresh, but I wouldn’t stay here again.

This review is specifically about the room type "hotel king". Our room number ended in A. I've never been so glad to leave a place behind. The check in was pleasant, if brief. The reception area entrance was shabby with small signage. The key we received was an old school plastic keychain with a metal key, and the key and doorknob were difficult to use. There are stairs down to an unlit outdoor entry, a raised threshold into a tiny (lit) room between your and the neighbor's doorways. Many bugs were present here. The room itself barely fit the bed. There was not enough room to store two suitcases at the foot of the bed. The mattress was quite firm. The sheets were clean and the mattress and box spring or bed frame appeared new. The bathroom was tiny with barely any counter space. The room phone was dead. The lamps were not plugged in, the bedside outlets are hidden behind mattress. The aircon was on 18° C and it was FREEZING. It was hard to change the temperature with no instructions on the thermostat. There was a large, live fly in our room when we arrived, and a dead bug in the windowsill. We opened the window to let the fly out and maybe warm up the room again, and within two minutes, a bee flew into our room since there are no screens on the windows. The bathroom is updated but there is still chipping paint around the door. The bathroom door had water damage . Could hear neighbors easily and doors slamming in the shared entry . Just awful.

The property is lovely with great views but our room wasn’t cleaned properly. We splashed out to stay here and were disappointed. Glasses in the cupboard were dirty and not even washed. No linen on our beds when we checked in and dirty tissues on the floor next to the bed.

I booked a twin bedroom. It was a fire hazard with 2 people and no room for a small suitcase each. No room on bedside tables either. Sink was blocked which they did fix for us. How the hotel ever got permission to allow room of that size for 2 adults is beyond compression!

I think the property is overrated. In that the price paid for a stay, does not meet expectations. Stayed in a lake front 1 bedroom suite, where our view was largely obstructed by a building. Steep stairs up into the living area, with a very very small bedroom. The room was at the front of the property with the main road in front, at times very noisy, with trucks etc. Carpeting looking a little worn. The beds were too soft. However to be close to the lake is a bonus.

Great greeting at reception. Room allocated was way too small for two adults travelling the South Island by car. No room to pass each other. Had trouble storing both bags in this tiny room. I ended up putting mine in the bathroom after showers. Our error for not reading room dimensions. The allocated unit was situated at the back of the two units. we heard every movement made from the occupants in the other front unit. The noisy stairs and the squeaky bed. Very disappointing. Best thing was walking distance to shops, lake and food and free parking but at nights this could be dangerous as the rocks were uneven and limited to no lighting. Way over priced for this facility. Very disappointed.

Good room - comfortable big king bed, lovely shower. Room was small and wifi was spotty. But nice for a one night stay. The hotel rooms are very small for the tariff and any more than 1 night, I would recommend a larger room. But pleasant staff, easy checkin and quiet location.

Our room was the smallest we have ever stayed in. We couldn’t even open our cases, had to put them on the bed. Really hot and we were on the ground floor so didn’t feel happy opening the window and the air con didn’t seem to work. Second night some really noisy people arrived upstairs. Couldn’t lock the door from the inside. Don’t expect your room to look like the picture on the website, only a couple on the water, we had no view. All that said it was clean and comfortable bed

The receptionist had a cold attitude. I did not feel welcomed. It was a mechanical/ robotic way of key handover on arrival. Credit card was asked without explanation. The room was standard but was like a shoe box. In all, not a pleasant experience.

The rooms are very tight, check in was not ready when we arrived. Check in time is 3 pm and we didn't have our room till 4:30pm. Ordered some dessert at their restaurant on site they took over half an hour to give us the take out because they forgot. It is a little disorganized for the amount they charge.

Excellent service, especially from Sunita (I hope I recalled her name correctly—the Indian lady at the front desk). She organized transport to get us to our bus stop in heavy snowfall. Big thanks also to the lady (of Zimbabwean origin) who gave us a ride.

We tried to check in an hour after the earliest check-in time and our room still was not ready. So we could not actually check in until after 4pm. The room itself was tidy, but with the living upstairs and bedroom downstairs, we had to walk very carefully after our daughter went to bed, because the floor creaked a bit. We could hear our neighbours quite clearly at night, so there was not much sound proofing. Bathroom was small and cramped. The upstairs living space was big and the view was amazing - I guess that is what we were paying for here because the rest of the place was like any average 3 star motel.

インターシティバスの降車場所から、坂道を10分ほど歩きます。上り坂をかなり上がった所に受付のある建物への入り口があります。坂の途中にホテルの看板がありますが、そこから入ると階段なので、重いスーツケースでは困難です。バス停まで送迎して欲しいものです。

Very pleasant and friendly check-in staff. Room was well appointed and functional. We were quite late arriving and settled on room service for dinner; not a bad choice at all. Breakfast was included and thankfully we were warned off about arriving before 0830 and having to contend with the tour groups. We had time to spare on the next leg of our journey and heeded the advice, rolling into the breakfast area around 0840. The staff were doing their best, but it was obvious the breakfast buffet had been ravaged by the hordes now boarding the tour buses just outside. No juice of any type, no sugar for tea or coffee, a hot buffet with more empty trays than full etc etc. You get the point. Not an easy problem to overcome but it’s also the reason I typically choose not to go with the brekkie option. Overall, then, friendly and efficient staff and comfortable, well appointed rooms made for a pleasant overnight stop on our journey. Just avoid the breakfast bar at peak times.

Room was nice, roomy, just the bed was horrible, kept falling in the gap over the beds being joined together and quality of bedding was of a low rated hotel. Dining at the property was also very unimpressive, wouldn’t recommend eating dinner there.
