We stayed for one night at this hotel. Convenient location with lots of amenities around. No staff there upon arrival or departure, however the check in process was easy. Unfortunately there was no parking at all available. The room was clean and had a bathtub with jets. Comfortable bed and lots of clean towels. A nice stay overall. 2 coupons for a free breakfast at a nearby restaurant were a nice touch.

Motel is in a great location in this small town. Everything you would want to see or do is within walking distance. Nice variety of restaurants. Room was adequate, with a fridge, microwave and some kitchen supplies. No sink in kitchen area so had to fill coffee pot and water bottles from bathroom sink. Nice to have a balcony, but needed a small table out there along with the two chairs.

Our unit had a jacuzzi bath tub as well as shower which really helped soothe some sore muscles after a long drive! Beds were comfortable and cooking facilities adequate. The drinks supplies were amazing in their quality and variety. Great for an overnight stay.

The motel is in the centre of the village, you can't get a better location than this. The lake, Good Shepherd Church, shops and supermarket are all within easy walking distance. Lyn in the office is very friendly and welcoming. We stay in a downstairs unit, comfortable bed and spotless. has small stove top and fridge, enough for basic cooking. Car park is not allocated, it would be hard to park during peak period, but the public village car park is just next door with plenty of free parking.

The room was good. The bed comfortable. The sofa bed was made up which we did not require and did not ask for. It did not allow use use of the sofa so we put this away. There was no way of eating your own food despite a sort of kitchen area. There was space for a microwave but none provided. As a supermarket was very close by and restaurants were extremely busy it would have been good to have a way of heating food. Very few utensils or crockery were provided. So eating in was not an option except for takeaway food. The breakfast voucher was appreciated but the food in Dough Boys was not really to our liking. Bathroom was clean with a good shower. Toiletries provided. Nice balcony with chairs overlooking lake.

A pleasant one night stay at the motel. Very lovely lady on reception. Motel is right in the middle of Tekapo. Some OK restaurants nearby and a supermarket in walking distance. Parking was free outside the motel. Room was comfortable. Very useful to have laundrette facilities at the motel ($4 each for washer and dryer). Breakfast was a voucher for a nearby cafe and breakfast was OK. Overall perfect for one night, although compared to other stops we’ve made in New Zealand, it wasn’t the best value.

The apartments are in a convenient area of Lake Tekapo with views of the lake and cafes and shops nearby. The bathroom is large and very clean but the rest of the property is tired and the carpet positively disgusting. Our least favourite property in NZ so far. The owners are apparently refurbishing but in the meantime some efforts to clean the carpets are a minimum requirement. The rooms are fairly cheap but it's a false economy if you really don't enjoy you stay, as we didn't.

There were numerous issues with the room. There was black mold around the shower and the bath area. There was missing caulking around the bathtub. The shower door did not close all the way causing the floor to get wet when taking a shower. The Wi-Fi did not work in the room and would only work if we went outside. When we questioned the quality of the Wi-Fi they said it was because of the Alpine environment. Yet the Wi-Fi worked when we were outside the room. We feel the room was overpriced for what condition it was in.

There's not a lot of choice in Tekapo, especially over a holiday weekend. The unit was adequate but very small with only beds to sit on inside (a lovely little porch outside with chairs but no table). No hotplate, but worst of all, no kitchen sink or tap. I hate having to get a glass of water or fill the kettle in the bathroom. The bathroom, however, was spacious with a lovely spa bath. The most expensive accommodation of our trip.

Get what you pay for in a tourist hot spot, so can't expect too much considering the price vs other hotels. Shower is very small with roof that makes it feel tiny. There was a used tissue left in the shower also. Otherwise it was fine for the night, very handy location being in the middle of the village. Nice view from the deck in our upstairs room. It's a bit noisy with other guests on the wooden walkway and there isnt a blind for the frosted main door, so the room stays quite light during the night.

The motel is a bit dated. The room was so hot even with the heater on the lowest setting. We had to get up in the night and keep opening the door to let so heat out. The location is good - right across from the dark sky project and beach. The playground has a fun zip line for adults and kids. The huge complaint is the price of food. Some examples, $25 NZD for eggs and bacon, $32 NZD for a bowl a ramen?! There is a four square so I suggest picking up what you can there. If I went back, I would only get a room with a kitchenette to cook meals.

The Lake Tekapo Village motel is located in the very centre of town. Across the road from the Dark Sky headquarters and next to all of the restaurants and shopping in the town. Our room was very comfortable and the view to the lake was lovely. Our only issue was that the Wifi in the room was almost non existent..

Had room on 2nd floor with lake view, not much of one, but a lake view. Had no sink to wash dishes in, was given a tub with dishwashing liquid & cloth, but no tea towel. Ended up washing dishes we used in bathroom sink. Rooms aircon setting (on wall heater) also didn't work, glad room had ceiling fan

Had a view of the lake from the balcony between some buildings but couldn't have been closer to just walk to the edge. Room was a bit disappointing - tired and in need of some tlc - stained carpets, old microwave which smelt, no sink for washing up. It didn't match up to other similar priced motels we stayed at. In fantastic place though.

This was a spot for a night stop over. We arrived at 1805 and the sign said the office closes at 1800. They left a key but no lights on the way to our room. We had to use a flashlight to unlock the room while carrying our bags. The room had a bad smell which may have been a new carpet but something like BO. Never interacted with staff. The free breakfast was worth the price. The village was not that nice. We moved on right after breakfast.

One of the Indians at the hotel reception was very rude! I arrived around 10.30pm and the front desk was closed. I tried to da a lot of phone calls and knocked on the front desk men but there was no response, my mailbox said the key would be in the box outside but it wasn't, then I kept knocking on the door and she opened the door very angry and scolded me, I said that I had booked the hotel for one night but hadn't given me the key in the box, she said it over and over again and scolded me angrily and had a bad attitude! Why are you scolding the guest when you are not doing your job properly? I was very angry. The only good thing about the hotel is the proximity to the Church of the Good Shepherd.

Had booked 1st floor to stay, but there is not lift. We asked for changing to ground floor. The staff was very nice to help us. Overall. We were happy to stay there and just walk less than 5 mins to reach lake , restaurants and market. Would happy to stay again next time .

Overall had everything we required for our night stay. Clean and tidy. A nice view of the lake from our balcony. However the exterior veranda light coming through the frosted glass door was very annnoying and it couldn’t be switched off plus it didn’t help that the heater in our room worked really too well. We couldn’t regulate or turn it off so we tried to let outside air flow into the room which was hard the night we stayed because it was raining and the rain would blow into the room. Thankfully there was a ceiling fan which helped a bit but our disturbed nights sleep was very hot and uncomfortable. Couldn’t advise anyone in the morning as office was unattended when we checked out.

Reception was only open for four hours. When we arrived at about 7pm (having been there previously at 1pm) after collecting the key from the board, I found that there weren't single beds in the room. It was resolved by a phone call and converting the sofa to a bed but I'nm not sure what would have happened if we arrived later and no-one answered the phone call.

Beautiful spot in a very special part of the world, the views were breathtaking and the facility was really easy to access. From our room we had lots of options for dining out and were a 1 minute walk from a supermarket to stock up on items for the trip. There was a playground next to the rooms for our 3 year old also. Best of all was the staff, they were so welcoming, helpful and friendly and put in extra time and effort for our son which he loved. Will stay there again when we return

We stayed for one night at this hotel. Convenient location with lots of amenities around. No staff there upon arrival or departure, however the check in process was easy. Unfortunately there was no parking at all available. The room was clean and had a bathtub with jets. Comfortable bed and lots of clean towels. A nice stay overall. 2 coupons for a free breakfast at a nearby restaurant were a nice touch.

Die Parkplätze auf dem Grundstück können kostenlos genutzt werden. Das Motel liegt zentral, die Restaurants und Geschäfte sind fußläufig erreichbar.

We loved our stay at the Lake Tekapo Village Motel! The location is excellent--our room looked out on the lake and we were within minutes walk of the lake and all the main attractions such as the church and the Dark Sky Project. The staff were so friendly and happy to accomodate all of our needs. The complimentary breakfast/lunch is an excellent deal -- voucher to spend at adjacent Doughboys Restaurant which features noodles as well as homemade dumplings (order 20 minutes ahead but so handy to motel so very convenient). Thank you!

We enjoyed our stay here even though it was only for 1 night. Lovely to have a partial view to the lake.. Room had everything we needed Very close to eateries.. I would recommend you eat early or book when you arrive as it was busy when we arrived at 6pm
