Couldn't fault the staff, cleanliness or amenities. For the price, it's a great value option. The parking charge is too steep but it's possible to free-park on the street only a few hundred metres away.

Stayed here before for work so had no issue booking again. We enjoyed the bar area for a social drink with friends and the buffet breakfast in the morning. The staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, our stay was pretty bloody good. However, we had one issue, I booked parking and arrived to be told that there was no parking available as they were full. Our room overlooked the car park, and this was not the case. On checking out they attempted to charge me for parking as it was included on my booking, needless to say I was bemused. But I learnt that on the weekends there is a lot of free parking on the street so save yourself a round of drinks and park on the street. The Rydges did not disappoint, and would we stay again, that is a yes.

It was a short break. My son loved the swimming pool and the bar service was amazing. Room was a bit dated but very clean. Loved all the facilities and within walking distance of great restaurants and waterfront. Staff was lovely

Perfect location as our Liberty Balloon flight left from here. Received room upgrade and complimentary drink on arrival. Staff were warm and helpful. Pool and spa were fantastic and warm and we had them all to ourselves on a Monday afternoon. Extremely comfortable bed. Some improvement suggestions- 11am check out however they came to service our room at 10:30 making us feel like we had to get going immediately. When we had buffet breakfast at 9:00am there was no butter, no bacon, no croissants and no raisin toast left. The only things that got topped up between 9-930 were sausages and mushrooms and they brought out butter. For a $32 buffet I would expect better. Overall we had a great stay. Really liked Rydges and would absolutely stay again but have breakfast elsewhere.

The hotel is in good condition and the staff are friendly. My biggest beef is that you have to pay for parking. This should be free considering they charge $330 per night. This is a regional city not Melbourne central.

The room was very quiet and the hotel's position is convenient to the waterfront and restaurants. However, it all looks a bit tired. The room's carpet was thin and the towels were as well - like something from a 1960s country motel. Also, there were just the basic free to air TV channels.

Staff were unhelpful when you could find them! Wait at reception was so long! We had faeces on our sheets when we moved into the room and the staff at reception dismissed it without an apology! The cleaners who changed the sheets though were disgusted at the situation!

Very disappointing experience this time after having stayed there often. Room was second rate being small for its type, no face washers, broken cupboard door hanging off, bathroom door belonging in a hovel, uncovered power point, nowhere to plug the jug in but next to the toilet, hairs in the basin and and most disgusting chicken bones on the floor between the beds!!

When checking in was warmly welcomed and when Taylor checked us in was so kind, caring and compassionate, and kindly upgraded us to king room when discovered reason was for a funeral. All staff were so kind and helpful. Cannot fault the hotel at all was clean, bed and pillows so comfortable, will definitely go back when it is for a happier occasion. Will always be grateful to Taylor for the stay we had.

Only one thing wrong, they tried to charge us for breakfast and asking us are we sure we didn't multiply times. Trying to explain that we didn't have breakfast was very very frustrating. This also happened at the Canberra Rydges. Rydges need a better system 😪 So check you bill before paying.

I booked the room I did for the included buffet breakfast and it was terrible. Most of the food was too cold to eat and when we advised the bar staff of it, they simply said it was not their fault, it was the kitchen, without even offering to go tell the kitchen about it. Not sure if they wanted us to head on into the kitchen ourselves and tell the chef! One waitress was very rude when we did ask how we were meant to heat up the waffles as they weren't allowed in the toaster machine and just felt the need to tell us we'd be charged $2,500 if we put the waffle in the toaster. I have stayed here twice before and never had such terrible service and rudeness of staff. When I told the front desk staff about it she just said oh we have new staff on today, must be their fault I'll talk to them. Did not even offer to give us a refund on the breakfast or anything else. It was terrible. The room was tiny for four adults and the bathroom was ridiculously small. I guess maybe I'm used to a better quality of motel but when I pay in excess of $450 a night for a room with breakfast included I expect to have more room in the bathroom, it definitely felt like it would be lucky to call the room a 3 star hotel room and the breakfast abbout 1 star.

Sorry but the food was awful, like really bad. I saw someone order Uber eats at our awards function because the food was so bad. Breakfast both days was cold and dried out. Staff were helpful but when we asked about air con not working in our room we were advised it is not turned on when it is cold outside and we should just open the windows. They brought us as pedestal fan as it was so hot in our room and we couldn't sleep without air circulation.

The breakfast was $32 per person and it was the worst I have ever had with very few options for the price we paid. A broken coffee machine and a very long queue for limited options. You could pay the same in a 5 star hotel in Melbourne CBD and it would be 100 x better.

Great location and close to the main street and action. Hotel was quiet and room spacious. Would have been nicer if the food and beverage offering was available more while we were there. No dinner on Sunday or lunch during the days for some of our stay. Food and drinks when we did order were great. We had small children visiting us and they loved the pool. Staff very accommodating and hotel good value for money. Will stay again if we are back in Geelong.

I booked a one night stay here to visit an exhibition at the Geelong Art Gallery. The hotel is perfectly functional, low key and quiet. My check in was very swift thanks to the friendly staff member at reception. My room was quite large for a hotel of this type. Everything worked and was in good condition. The room and bathroom were clean. The supply of tea & coffee could be a little more generous, but there's a Foodworks just down the street if you need more. Unfortunately I discovered the hotel bar & restaurant are not open on a Sunday so I missed out trying either of them.
