Great hotel. No parking on site, go directly to parking Ramen not far

Buona struttura per visitare il centro storico di Gent. Comoda per chi arriva in auto (è vicina a un parcheggio a pagamento), l’albergo coniuga lo charm storico di un palazzo antico ai moderni confort. Personale educato e disponibile, camera pulita e buona posizione (a pochi passi dei principali punti di interesse). Consigliato.

Great hotel and nice rooms. Convenient parking 2 blocks away. Close to the tourist attractions.

Booked two suites (based on pics), first one was 1:1, but second suite (called loft) was a disaster: dark, two floor with steep staircase and low ceiling where normal sized people hit their head, furnitures very old (not even sellable on flea markets). Luckily we could change it on standard room (but for prize of suite). Did get vouchers for the bar as kind of compensation. The bar: no guests, bar tender was guy from reception, ingredients for mocktails were not available. We (3 people) did get Bar peanuts ( one shot Glas full). Instead of light bar music the only noise came from an old refrigerator. The comfortable suite was basically ok. Windows are very old, noise from the street not avoidable. On the other side is a Supermarkt, deliveries started at 4 in the morning. Hotel is in an ancient building which is illuminated from the outside. Quite romantic but as curtains did not cover all of the windows, it was not dark at all. Located at the entrance of the old town. This was comfortable, parking lot 300m away with very fair prices (around 30€ for two days). Hotel staff was supportive and friendly even after the long discussions and the complaints from our side. But hotel was not worth for this price. Also standard room was more than old fashioned with a certain special smell.

We arrived at this hotel to find it was a building site as they had tradesmen in the main hotel fixing a drainage system. We had only booked the hotel within an hour of arrival to learn it was not as advertised. We were walked over to the other part of the hotel across the street by the building works manager where we learned that the actual hotel main building was close and the hotel staff and rooms were operating out of their ancillary accommodation which we would not have selected if they were being honest when we booked. They refuses to offer a refund as we arrived shortly after booking the hotel. The staff were nice but totally inflexible

Stay was very pleasant. Only disappointment was that the hotel bar was poorly stocked. Apart from running out of certain beers, It had limited choice of drinks and was missing many of the popular late night drinks after dinner like Baileys and Ti Maria as examples.

Bij ontvangst begroet door de mevrouw die onze kamer had schoongemaakt. Die ons de receptie wees. Ook daar een vriendelijk onthaal. De kamer bleek verderop in de straat te zijn in een afzonderlijk gebouw. Prima kamer alleen is de toegang voor zover ik kan bepalen niet beperkt. Binnenplaats is open net als de gang naar de hotelkamers. Misschien iets minder praktisch voor mensen die bijvoorbeeld alleen reizen.

Parking is a bit of a problem at busy times

Nous n’avons pas pu garer notre voiture sur place, car il paraîtrait, d’après l’accueil, qu’ils n’ont que 5 places et que ce sont les employés qui les utilisent ! Donc, parking public à 300m non sécurisé ! Et nous avons dû porter nos baguages jusqu’à l’hôtel ! En arrivant dans la chambre, après le resto, la chambre était à 27,8C ! Nous avons mis la climatisation, mais celle-ci, malgré le flocon indiquant que l’air serait frais ! Nous avons eu du chauffage!! J’ai voulu appeler la réception, mais pas de telephone dans la chambre ! J’ai dû utiliser mon portable pour appeler en bas et la dame m’a dit qu’ils avaient arrêté le climatisation pour l’année ! Sans compter que nous avons eu le droit à des verres en plastique ! Des tâches d’une fuite au plafond de la salle de bains, des taches au plafond du salon, d’insectes écrasés, la Tv qui était plutôt côté conjoint et pas au milieu du lit. O

Very good location walking distance from affortable Pgarage Ramen and the city centre. The hotel is older but it has its charms. Our room was clean and had a very good shower. Breakfast is however far overpriced.

El hotel es precioso y tambien su cafeteria. En cuanto a las habitaciones que dan al patio interior que es donde nos alojamos, la limpieza de las mismas brilla por su ausencia. Tampoco te ayudan a subir y bajar las maletas porla escalera esterior de las habitaciones que dan al patio. Los empleados encargados del desayuno no dan a basto. Poco personal en mi opinion. Los recepcionistas no se esfuerzan en absoluto. Las 8ndicaciones rapitas y en 7n ingles con demasiado acento.

I booked this as an overnight and was happy I chose this location. The breakfast buffet was great, and the room was spotless.

This hotel has seen better days. It looks and feels run down. The white towels are all light grey. Even the more modern annex building down the street is weird. The bathroom isn't enclosed. The walls don’t up to the ceiling. So you have to open the window, even if it's cold outside, to avoid steaming up the bedroom. The mirror in the bathroom is installed so high, I could only see my forehead. The shower, while large, did not have good drainage so you inevitably flood the floor, which was painted poured concrete and got treacherously slippery. When checking in and out, the front desk was unmanned with a sign saying they would return shortly which turned out to be a while. If you have them storing your luggage, do so at your own risk as you have to put it in their small closet yourself. They take no responsibility for it. When I asked for a receipt at check out the woman seemed baffled and asked me what I wanted to see on the receipt.

Good location for discovering ghent,all staff were helpful and friendly, rooms were clean and comfortable,did not have breakfast, thought it a little overpriced, but apart from that i would recommend this hotel and would stay again if in ghent

Fantastisch net hotel in centrum Gent. Zeer ruime kamer met dito sanitair, alles nieuw. Het mooie centrum is op nog geen 50 meter met vele restaurants en bezienswaardigheden. Top locatie en top hotel.

Underbart hotel, inte bara på grund av sin historia, men också pga personalen, renheten, maten (vi hade frukostbufén). Också läget, vara några m bort från Korenmarkt, Gravesteen, Vrijdagsmarkt, Kouter, mm. mm. Jag hade tagit så många bilden så mobilen la av. Men de ladade den för mig, utan kostnad men med ett leende. Toppen hotel!

This hotel has seen better days. It looks and feels run down. The white towels are all light grey. Even the more modern annex building down the street is weird. The bathroom isn't enclosed. The walls don’t up to the ceiling. So you have to open the window, even if it's cold outside, to avoid steaming up the bedroom. The mirror in the bathroom is installed so high, I could only see my forehead. The shower, while large, did not have good drainage so you inevitably flood the floor, which was painted poured concrete and got treacherously slippery. When checking in and out, the front desk was unmanned with a sign saying they would return shortly which turned out to be a while. If you have them storing your luggage, do so at your own risk as you have to put it in their small closet yourself. They take no responsibility for it. When I asked for a receipt at check out the woman seemed baffled and asked me what I wanted to see on the receipt.

Nuestra habitación estaba en la 2,ª planta, en un patio interior muy bonito pero al que había que acceder por una escalera empinada con escalones muy estrechos. Por lo demás, aunque sólo estuvimos una noche, nos gustó. La ubicación es perfecta: a 2 minutos del centro. De hecho, al girar la calle y darte de bruces con las vistas te quedas anonadado.

Everything was fine, except the room was very warm. The only AC was a floor fan.

Was voor de tweede keer in dit hotel. Aantal weken geleden kreeg ik een kamer waar het 27 graden was. Reactie van de medewerker was dat hotel de airco had uitgeschakeld en dat ik dit maar moest accepteren. Gisteren kwam ik op mijn kamer en die was nu 13 graden. Verwarming kon aan maar het duurde tot 22:30 uur voordat het 20 graden was.

Ik verbleef onlangs in Hotel De Flandre in Gent en hoewel er veel aspecten waren die de moeite waard waren, was er één groot probleem dat mijn verblijf minder aangenaam maakte: de airconditioning. Bij aankomst werd ik vriendelijk ontvangen door het personeel en de gemeenschappelijke ruimtes van het hotel zagen er prachtig uit. De kamer zelf was schoon en goed ingericht, met een comfortabel bed en alle basisvoorzieningen die je zou verwachten. Echter, het comfortniveau van de kamer werd aanzienlijk verminderd door de airconditioning. In plaats van een traditionele airco die zowel kan koelen als verwarmen, bleek dat deze alleen kon verarmen op dat moment. De kamerteratuur was dfoor het warme weer al hoog, maar door de airco te activeren was het binnen een paar minuten meer dan 26 graden… De kamer werd erg benauwd en er was geen manier om de temperatuur te verlagen. Het openen van het raam was niet echt een goede optie vanwege het lawaai van buiten op zaterdagavond. Dit zorgde voor een oncomfortabele nachtrust, aangezien de kamer de hele nacht warm bleef. Ik begrijp dat verwarming belangrijk is tijdens koudere maanden, maar de mogelijkheid om de kamer te koelen is net zo cruciaal voor een aangenaam verblijf. Het personeel was beleefd en deed hun best om te helpen, maar kon geen oplossing bieden voor het airco-probleem. Dit aspect alleen zou me helaas doen aarzelen om in de toekomst terug te keren naar dit hotel.

Great staff but the room interiors are getting old and need updating / repair. Also, don’t stay in a “Loft unit” if you’re taller than 1800 / 6’-0” tall 🤕

Bed was super comfy, lovely shower and the air conditioning was fantastic after a long day’s walking around Ghent

Everything was of excellent quality and the staff were super friendly and helpful. The location is very good. Fairy quiet but very close to the centre with a good supermarket opposite.

We stayed here for 4 days in May-June 2023. First time ever in Ghent and Belgium. The place is nicely located. You can walk to the boating in the canal, eating places of all sorts, bus, tram, St Michael's church, St. Bavo's etc etc.The staff was very helpful providing us a few extra services we needed. Almost did not want to leave the place! Will definitely return if we come to Ghent again

I absolutely loved this property and will stay here again. I was here 17 nights and because of the length was in a business apartment that was fully loaded. That being said, hosue keeping came by 4 days a week at random time but always when I was in my underwear with my head phones on. Lol, I dodnt mond, but Im sure I scared them enough. A do not disturb sign, specific cleaning times everyday at 11am or just coming on Monday like it said in the welcome pamphlet. I had enough towels and sheets for a week easy. Again, loved the hotel, the room, the check in staff, but that was a little annoying.

Hi, We reserved 2 single beds but we were given a room with queen bed with 2 seperate blankets. There was no hot water to take shower. I took shower on NYE with cold water. The person on front desk brought an open and half used bottle of Champagne to our room with a spoon hanging on bottle neck (to keep the bubbles inside probably?!) I think he found half used bottle in other guests rooms when they checked out. Of course we didn’t drink it but I found that offer rather offensive. Thanks and regards, Alia

Very nice hotel with friendly staff. Like everywhere in the whole city, service doesn’t come quick but it was an enjoyable stay in the second building across from the main hotel. Comfy, modern rooms, very good bed. Ideally located. Probably as good as it gets as you are one minute walk from the main canal with all you need for bar/restaurants etc all with a few minutes walk from there. It’s a fabulous city and the hotel is ideally placed to pop in and out of during a day of wandering around

Very nice hotel with friendly staff. Like everywhere in the whole city, service doesn’t come quick but it was an enjoyable stay in the second building across from the main hotel. Comfy, modern rooms, very good bed. Ideally located. Probably as good as it gets as you are one minute walk from the main canal with all you need for bar/restaurants etc all with a few minutes walk from there. It’s a fabulous city and the hotel is ideally placed to pop in and out of during a day of wandering around

It was central to everywhere and very quiet . We were over the road from the hotel - it was a wonderful hideaway, we didn’t have breakfast as it was quite expensive, lots of cafes so close.

I booked this as an overnight and was happy I chose this location. The breakfast buffet was great, and the room was spotless.

Prima hotel, centraal gelegen maar toch rustig 's avonds. De kamer was mooi en schoon, het ontbijt uitstekend. Wat wel fris was dat de verwarming uitstond toen ik de kamer inkwam en het 12 graden was. Gelukkig warme de kamer snel op de de airco.

Prima hotel gelegen in een rustige straat. Fijn en veilig om te kunnen verblijven. Het matras was wat aan de harde kant, maar het is altijd moeilijk om het iedereen naar de zin te maken. Het ontbijt is flink aan de prijs, €22,-. De gekookte eitjes waren op en werden niet meer bijgevuld. Heb daar verder ook niet naar gevraagd. Maar ik vind dat het personeel dat in de faten moet houden.

Was even schakelen dat we bij het inchecken te horen kregen dat we in een bijgebouw zaten, maar dit zijn prima kamers, Het ontbijt voor 21 euro was niet echt een luxe en wij zaten in de laatste shift waardoor aan aantal dingen al op waren. Positief was het drankje dat we kregen ivm oud en nieuw, het was er echter 1 en niet voor beide 1.

It was central to everywhere and very quiet . We were over the road from the hotel - it was a wonderful hideaway, we didn’t have breakfast as it was quite expensive, lots of cafes so close.
