Jerusalem Gate Hotel is conveniently located in Jerusalem for business and job. Not a fancy hotel with a lot of facilities, but nice staff, good bed, ok network and a gym. Whether you are on government business, need to go to Tel Aviv or want a stroll to the Old City, this location is the best.

The mall connected to the Hotel is the best part. Extra food and shopping options if needed without having to venture out was really nice. I found that some of front desk staff was not good with customer service, (but some were). The Shabbat food was good, but I preferred breakfast at Prima Park in Jerusalem better, and Shabbat dinner in Roxon urban spa (the old Ramada) in Tel Aviv better.

This hotel is an absolute disgrace. The rooms are filthy to an extreme level, with rust in the shower and broken wall panels. You can hear everything from the neighboring rooms—there’s no peace and quiet whatsoever. The service? Practically nonexistent—it’s clear the hotel has no interest in its guests. The elevators are unbearably slow, and the dining area is pure chaos—overcrowded, messy, and completely unorganized. Not worth a single penny. We strongly recommend staying far away from this place. A completely negative experience on all fronts!"

Very, very good location. Breakfast buffet is not as good as other hotels in Jerusalem. Noisy at times. The parking is under the building and fills up on the upper floors often. You have to walk up and out of the garbage to get into the hotel after 10:00pm.

Big advantage is locations which is very central and convenient. Parking is annoying you need to go to a crowded underground mall parking lot and get ticket stamped and access to hotel is a up flight of stars etc. The A/C is not on in the winter even when its mild outside so you are forced ot keep window open and its very noisy in daytime. The Mikvah water was not heated Staff was pleasant and helpful

Just make sure to drop off your luggages before parking since some stair climbing is required to get from the parking to the hotel. Also make sure to book with free breakfast. House keepers did not change our bed sheets at all for a week. Bed is not comfortable at all. Our room supposed to have a queen bed but our bed was like two single twin bed put together. The beds moved apart and made noise and the mattress was only 2 inch thick. Bath tub was clogged and bed frame and window curtain was dirty.

The room was spotless and newly renovated. The shabbat meal was superb and the dining area was huge. The lighting of the Hanukkah candles was spectacular. The staff was friendly and professional. It seems to be a well run hotel.

Hotel is so old it desperately needs a full renovation. The carpets are old, doors and furniture cheap, and whole hotel makes one feels like the clock stopped for them in the 80’s. Beds were so old I kept on waking up due to the pain the bed spring would cause on my sides and back. I visited with my wife and instead of sleeping in a full bed or better yet a queen bed, I got two old single mattresses side by side it made it imposible to sleep next to each other. Definitely not worth the $160 per night. The restaurant had old tables that looked like patio tables/chairs and the staff were dry and mean all the time as if they hate their job. So the lack of hospitality made it worst.

The location is busy and noisy. The building is cheap and looks like unfinished. The shopping center underground is not impressive at all. The rooms are extremely small and ugly. Tiles looked dirty. Small windows (prison size). Tiny bathroom, under 4 sq m. The shower splashes on the bathroom door. No bathroom ventilation. Poor customer service makes you feel unwanted. Food was good!

The property in general is well presented and in good condition. The room I had was excellent, newly renovated, spacious and comfortable; the best room I had on this trip in Israel. I did find the staff though to be relatively unfriendly, everything requested was an effort and they certainly didn’t go out of their way to assist and show good customer service. Despite the staff, I would stay here again in the future.

The hotel was a short walk from the station. The staff are polite but could be more helpful. The room was ok but tired. The a/c didn’t work whether to heat or cool. The bed was comfy and the cotton sheets were nice and soft. Limited wardrobe space. The bathroom had been recently refurbished with a decent shower and was nice. The double glazed window didn’t prevent street noise coming in so honking horns and sirens could be heard all night. The main lobby area is airy and comfortable. The restaurant provided a good breakfast and better dinner. The shops and cafes underneath the hotel didn’t amount of a great shopping experience. The room was modern and clean. Same with the bathroom but there was a slight rim mark on the bath. The beds were comfortable if a little narrow . The bedlights we're really clever, only focusing light where needed. The storage facility was woefully inadequate in that the hanging space was tiny for 2 people. Breakfasts were beautiful, with a good range of foods. All in all it was a very enjoyable stay.

My stay included Shabbat. The hotel was host to a number of different simchas, so we had a lot of choices for davening. It's not a new place, and in some areas, it's showing its age. However, the hotel is comfortable. Our room had been remodeled, so it was a modern room leading out to a hallway that probably hasn't changed in over 30 years. Location is very good. Staff is friendly and helpful. Overall, a good value and a pleasant stay.

I liked the Hotel, with the many types of guests. The children can be very loud at nights and during the day. There is no solid wall between rooms. A TV was left with high volume all night, several nights. The dinner was EXCELLENT, and the waiters were very good. Over all very good. Will return next year.

The service was terrible, starting with the receptionist who placed a different airport entry card in my U.S. passport that was of an Israeli citizen to charge me taxes (tourists are exempt). When I pushed back and proved him wrong he threw the passport back at me and checked me in. The bed was uncomfortable, the noise from other rooms was unbearable and the room lacked basic needs.

This time was very disapointing At check-in the reception guy didn't find my booking and refused letting me in even after I showed him the order confirmation that was sent to me from the hotel few days before. I was forced by him to creat another booking in higher price. That was big mass. The hotel didn't take respinsibility for their mistake, didn't appoligies, and no any comansation for the very bad welcome.

Very, very good location. Breakfast buffet is not as good as other hotels in Jerusalem. Noisy at times. The parking is under the building and fills up on the upper floors often. You have to walk up and out of the garbage to get into the hotel after 10:00pm.

Good location near bus routes and light rail. Easy food shopping in adjacent mall and Central bus station short walk. Room was plain and basic: shower/bath, closet, table& chair, outlets near beds. very clean & well maintained. The buffet breakfast was excellent, many choices hot and cold, served until 10AM. We would definitely stay again.

This hotel is an absolute disgrace. The rooms are filthy to an extreme level, with rust in the shower and broken wall panels. You can hear everything from the neighboring rooms—there’s no peace and quiet whatsoever. The service? Practically nonexistent—it’s clear the hotel has no interest in its guests. The elevators are unbearably slow, and the dining area is pure chaos—overcrowded, messy, and completely unorganized. Not worth a single penny. We strongly recommend staying far away from this place. A completely negative experience on all fronts!"

The room was spotless and newly renovated. The shabbat meal was superb and the dining area was huge. The lighting of the Hanukkah candles was spectacular. The staff was friendly and professional. It seems to be a well run hotel.

When we checked in (4 elderly travelers) arriving at 6a.m. after a 24 hour journey, we asked for a luggage cart, and were told to go and get it ourselves. One of the electronic keys (we had 2 rooms) did not work and in one of the rooms there were no lights working. When I went back down to the front desk they told me they would fix the lights after 7 a.m. When I complained that this was unacceptable, as we could not see anything in the dark, they told me I was disrespectful. They did fix the key and grudgingly turned the power on. The noise from traffic, even honking, could be heard all night. The following day the workers were more helpful and friendly. We asked for a wake-up call on the last morning of our stay, but it never came. The rooms were small but acceptably clean.
