A great place to stay in the Cotswolds. Comfortable room, great food and beer in the pub downstairs.

A fantastic setting, by the river Avon over looking a weir, nice sound and wildlife to watch. Very warm welcome, spotless, crisp bed linen and very comfortable. Well finished and clean bathroom and kitchen with ample tea, coffee and milk in fridge. Excellent food with a choice to suit all tastes and largely locally sourced. Staff very helpful and pleasant, all in all great value for money and a good place to relax. Would definitely stay here again.

I had an enjoyable three night stay in a newly redecorated room. The breakfast was excellent too. The bathroom is shared, but was clean. There is a spacious shared kitchen, which is open to be used by guests.

Really friendly and welcoming. Even offered to keep the kitchen open for me. Clean and comfy room. Lovely view over the river. Plenty of parking. I had a great night’s sleep and there was a spacious kitchen with tea and coffee available. Plenty of parking!

Stayed for a couple of nights. The location is very convenient and the inn is situated in a nice quiet location by the river Avon. Nice walking routes around the inn. The room was clean and presentable. It was off season, so sharing bathroom and kitchen facilities was not an issue. Good selection of food and reasonably priced drinks. The only issue was considerable noise transfer between the downstairs pub and restaurant and the room upstairs. They host karaoke nights on Friday and Saturday nights until late. It would be helpful to provide guests with ear plugs as the rooms get loud.

From initial booking through to our stay was good. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable, although no en suite the bathroom was modern, clean, and easily accessible. The area around the premise is very picturesque, and although we didn't get on any of the nearby walks there was plenty around and easily accessible. Meals were good in pub, and good selection of beers. There is an adjoining kitchen with kettle, cooker, microwave, and fridge freezer for use by the guests. Would recommend.

Bed and bedding good. Nowhere to put anything - no hanging space. The kitchen was uncared for with a full, dirty dishwasher, a washing machine in use by management for 2 days and one undeveloped frying pan and a tiny saucepan as the ‘cookware’. The pub closed on Monday and then closed at 8 pm on Wednesday.

We could not stay at this property as the suite as they called was not fit to stay in. It was dirty, the carpets were filthy, the curtains were shabby as was the settee. The glass water bottle had a rim stain around the top. Tbags opened in a bowl. The bathroom was not fit for purpose and the shower should have not even have been in use. The tiles were black as was the shower trays surrounding mastic. It was a disgrace they were charging £90 for this room that was supposed to be a suite and most expensive. The stairs whereby we entered were filthy as was the carpet and the outside had a pungent smell of drainsThe whole place was in need of a complete refit. we then had to find somewhwere else to stay. They did refund our moneyI hope that they sort their rooms and bathrooms out before anyone else has the disppointment and shock that we had. Ours was the only room with an ensuite which was why we had booked it all the other rooms had to share 1 bathroom, this also was dirty.

A very nice gentleman showed me our rooms, which were nicely decorated and had all that we needed for a night's stay, we both had a shower but felt that the shower could have been cleaner, dirty flexi hose and a lot of black mould around the edges and dirty grout, the glass shower screen also needed a good clean & polish. Even though, the bed and the rest of the apartment was clean. There was complimentary tea & coffee in the room, but no milk. When we were ready we went down to the bar to get a drink before dinner. The bar /dinning room was full and there was only 2 staff serving which wasn't enough for the amount of people in there, then one barman went into the other room to serve leaving only one. we waited in the queue while a lady took ages choosing her drinks and had the barman running around getting an ice bucket and ice for her bottle of wine, then she couldn't decide which wine to have, while others in the queue were getting increasingly restless, and looking round at us as if to say don't push in, which we wouldn't do. We stood there for a while then because the atmosphere seemed to be getting increasingly hostile, we decided to call it a day. We went upstairs packed our things and left, if it took that long to try to get a drink how long would it have taken to get a meal. The staff were working really hard but there definitely wasn't enough of them. So we paid for a nights stay and only used the shower.

Not too great, kitchen area grubby, bathroom (shared) wasn’t the best, loo rolls and paper all scattered outside the window. Wasn’t 100% sure bedding was fresh as hair inside and on top of bed covers. Get what you pay for sometimes.

The room was filthy dirty, there were bugs in the bathroom and it stunk of damp. There are mould spores along the window frames, it is a very unhealthy environment. the welcome was shocking, I walked in to check in only to overhear the receptionist on a call moaning as her last guest hadn’t arrived to check in yet and that she was annoyed! Charming!

The bed was comfortable and the food was great. Thw staff were great too. The only let down was very loud karaoke both nights I was there that went on until after 11 and made it impossible to sleep. Had I known about this before booking I likely would have booked elsewhere.

I arrived when bar was busy for bonfire party and shown to my room. No information in room. Hotels.com information indicates free WiFi but none of my devices could connect and also refers to a communal kitchen which i wasn't shown and didn't find. No kettle or drinks in rooms (maybe the elusive kitchen). Slept well in comfy bed and shower room was clean, tidy and well equipped.

We had an amazing weekend at the Fish and Anchor Inn and highly recommended it to anyone looking for a relaxed and value for money getaway while visiting Stratford or the Cotswolds. As it's an inn we checked in at the bar, then accessed the room via a separate entrance at the rear of the pub. The pub does karaoke on Friday and Saturday nights, and the patrons are very welcoming. Our room, no. 6, was amazingly large and inviting, and we loved the firm bed mattress. As mentioned in the hotel description the bathroom and toilet are shared, which was no issue for us. There was also a full sized kitchen with a small breakfast table for self-catering, so be sure to bring own pots, plates and cutlery to use it. The bath towels were small, so you may want to bring your own as well as a gown. Definitely highly recommended and we'll be back!

It was not obvious from the booking that there was a shared bathroom, it’s there, but if you aren’t expecting it or looking for it it’s easy to miss. I dislike the fact that they bring it to your attention by e mail after you have made a non refundable booking. The wifi didn’t work. This was critical to us as neither of us have phones on a UK network. The room itself was nice, clean spacious and comfortable, however half the lights didn’t work and there were limited power points in the room. The heating didn’t come on until late which made the room cold in the evening. Bed was very comfortable. Overall not bad for the cost, but very little attention to detail.

Check in was subpar - staff seemed more annoyed than welcoming. Then came the ridiculously loud music in the evening that kept us up till 1.30am. Shower pressure was basically non-existent. Wifi didn't work. Check out in the morning was unclear so we just left the keys in the door.

Friendly, helpful staff. Clean, comfortable room. Very good shower. Tea and coffee facilities in the kitchen across the corridor. However, the room info said the bar closes at 22:00 on a Friday. It did not, and the awful out of tune noise of people doing karaoke at high volume carried on until 20 past midnight right below my room. Unacceptable.

In all my travels I’ve never ever met a bunch of staff that were ALL so lovely. Nothing too much . Totally exceeded my expectations ! Thank you.

Room clean, though one towel between 2 of us, and it had that horrid damp smell so didnt leace ua feeling clean. Unfortunately check in staff were confused about the booking, not in diary & had to check what was available physically. Wasn't given the room I chose, should have been panoramic with large double bed & river view. Shared bathroom meant that we could hear numerous people opening & closing the door next to us and creaking along the landing. Only 1 towel for use, no glasses in room to be able to get a drink of water, nor any bottles of water provided. Ideas definitely need updating. The bed, pillows & duvet were comfortable. In the morning we tried to get into the main area to get breakfast at 09:45 but nothing was open and no one about. We left & drove to a cafe instead. Won't be returning the this accomodation.

When I booked I assumed the room had a bathroom, my fault. 6 bedrooms share one toilet and shower. There is a communal kitchen for making tea etc. The restaurant was closed but we were given a tasty supper. Breakfast was not on offer unless we waited till After 9am. Would we stay there again? NO!

What an amazing place to stay and eat, staff absolutely brilliant, making us feel at right at home. I highly recommend giving this place a try.

On arrival the instructions that had been emailed prior to arrival didn’t work. When we entered the pub one of ‘the locals’ was rude to us. We felt like an inconvenience to the proprietor who said she couldn’t leave the bar to see to us then told us our key was in our room door but didn’t tell us what room number we were staying in. She left us in the room whilst she went downstairs to get another towel as only 1 towel had been left in the room. We quickly left and booked a Premier Inn locally. We didn’t stay at the accommodation. Very disappointed. By no fault of Hotels.com, we didn’t read thoroughly the accommodation we booked had a shared bathroom with the other residents so that was a misunderstanding on our part so I can’t really comment on the cleanliness of accommodation because we didn’t visit the bathroom. This accommodation should be advertised better as ‘a hostel’ and it should be made more clearly that the washing facilities are shared. Very disappointed but the Premier Inn was great.

Admitted to hospital for a medical emergency beyond my control. Called the hotel as soon as I could. About as compassionate as as a brick. Grab the cash and run.

After a very long day at work I was rewarded as a returning guest with a lovely welcome and the best room in the house. So Special to be acknowledged. Thank you to the whole team. I will return !

Had a really nice stay. The staff were friendly and the room was well looked after. It is in a lovely rural location with riverside and hillside walks and views.

Lovely country pub with nice view over the river, staff very accomodating and welcoming so service A1 *****. Food was also very good in evening and they accomodated my request for a continental breakfast also. Parking easy very large car park and nice outdoor rear garden overlookign their touring site. Only down side was the sharred bathroom , if it was not for this I woudl 100% stay again.

Lovely welcome on check in. Apartment spacious and comfortable. However bedroom was above area in the pub where karaoke started at approx 10.30pm ending at 1.15am. Not the best nights sleep. Nice bar area and food in the restaurant was good apart from the wait. Waitress and bar tender very apologetic about delays, and felt sorry for them. Somewhere we may have considered returning to prior to karaoke time!

Our stay at the Fish and Anchor was fantastic. We had a panoramic room with a view of the river and the room was lovely and the bed was really comfortable. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and couldn’t do enough for you, we eat there and the food was very nice and the breakfast was superb and all locally sourced. Also if you are staying there you get discount off your food and drink which is brilliant, we stayed there as we were visiting our daughter who lives in Bidford on Avon and on the Saturday night our granddaughter wanted to stay which they were more than accommodating and on the Sunday morning our granddaughter had breakfast with us at no extra cost which was very much appreciated. We will definitely be staying here again. Also there is a nice pub 5/10 minutes drive from the fish and anchor called the Bridge inn and Ferry well worth a visit.
