Arriva Hotel

Toilet wouldn’t flush, reported to receptionist who said he’d get someone to fix it, but never did. Lift was not working AGAIN! We were on the 3rd floor , I have bad knees, getting ourselves and suitcases down the stairs was a nightmare!

Property very basic, but clean. Had all we needed and was nice and warm. Was fine for one night. Could have done with another pillow. Staff very helpful, and friendly. Unfortunately the lift was broken the weekend we visited but could go up to next floor and walk back down or straight up which wasn't too much of a problem, and the desk staff took up our luggage for us.

The Building is old and not refurbished. The heater was through the roof and the lift was broken on the day and we had to carry our heavy bags across the stairs. you can hear the traffic quite loudly as well.

I stay here very often so all I can say is that the rooms are nice enough and the beds are comfortable and it's clean and there is a lift to go to different floors which is missing on a lot of places

When booking I requested a ground floor or a room with access via lift as my Dad has limited mobility and rooms close together if possible. After we had checked in we were advised the lift was broken (whch I apprectite is an unforeseen event) and the only available rooms had stairs to get to the room as people had requested to swap. Although a member of staff did assist with my dads case up/down the stairs, I was given a 3rd floor room and had to take clothes out of my case to take to my room as I would not have been able to take the case up all those flights of stairs. We were also 4 floors apart so I would not have been able to assist him if there was an emergency. If they were unable to fulfil the request it would have been good to know in advance so I could have made alternative arrangements. Although there was a kettle, t.v and a hairdryer in the rooms they are extremely basic. The carpet throughout the hotel has seen better days and is loose in some parts. There are many other budget hotels in the area which are far better, I would not advise booking.

Cheap and to be expected, 5 minutes from Kings Cross, good. Staff ok, cleaners friendly. Warning that the lift was out of action for our stay. Room was tiny, and cramped, couldn't get around foot of bed, and in need - like most of London - of a decent refresh. tB fine but so little room. Shower only, bathroom again tiny, if functional. Nice to be able to leave bags on last day, but anyone could have gone in, said "I have a bag left" and wandered out with whatever. Front desk staff didn't care.

No breakfast, terrible shower using 10 min to Get the shampoo out of my hair! Grumpy man in the front desk when we arrived. No ventilation, hot room. Elevator out of order. Small bed in doublerom. Will never use this hotel again!

We all know that London is expensive, and that you get what you pay for. Arriva hotel is basic, but convenient. It is close to St Pancras Station, and the tube, and after all, you have what you need : A bed, a shower and a kettle. The plus is also the storage room to keep your luggage before or after check in/out. Friendly staff.

Stayed 1 night stop by King Cross. Room is small but one night stay which is alright and no complaint, Price is worth for the quality. Convenient location. Friendly staff at Reception. Benefit to keep luggage upon check out.

Third time we have stayed at the Arriva Hotel. Always found it clean with comfortable bed and good shower. Staff friendly and approachable. Perfect for Kings Cross/St Pancreas. Good that it has a lift! Perfect for stop over. Good price for the area. Recommended.

Budget hotel but very clean in a good location. Room was basic but if you only need a bed for a few nights it’s perfectly fine. Lovely staff - all very helpful. At half the price of the nearest Travelodge and premier inn definitely value for money

Clean comfortable fresh towels every day beds made and top up coffee tea bags and milk right within walking distance from King’s Cross st pancreas stations and all bus routes definitely would book again

Room was old/tired and in need of serious improvement. Ben linen was clean, but everything else was grotty. Tiny room & bathroom. BT phone on wall was probably bright white 30years ago, now all yellow. Probs 30 years since room last decorated! £160 for night was way too expensive!

Rude reception staff and mice living in the bed in my room. From the sounds of receptionist wasn’t the first incident and didn’t even get an apology from anyone in the hotel. They refused a refund even though I didn’t stay more than an hour in the hotel and only got my money back from claiming against my credit card. If I could rate this zero stars then I would and don’t recommend anyone stay here for fear of your own health and safety.

In photos looks much better than the actual room. Hair on bed sheets, not very clean. Overall, decent price for London ,for a room for two, with bathroom, bargain.Does the job.

Saw a mouse running around my room just before going to bed. Found mouse traps under my bed. When I mentioned it to the reception in the morning, they said they have mouse traps in every room . Had to lift my suitcase off the floor. Rooms very very basic.

Very small and old room. Beds are super small with thin pillows.Rugs are worn and stained. I guess you get what you pay for in London.

Quiet overnight and comfortable stay rating high on cleanliness. Also excellent value for money and for this reason we will use the hotel again when visiting near St Pancreas station.

Tv too big for room couldn't even walk past without bashing it. Window was big enough to fit a whole person through so felt unsafe. Walls and floorboards are thin. It was okay for one night just not any longer.

Bare bones furnishings-no chair, no washcloths, little to no place to store things in bathroom, no A/C, located on noisy, busy street.

I had a basement room with no natural light which was not very nice. Despite it being advertised as having free WiFi, this only worked for 1 out of the 3 days I stayed so I couldn’t get my work done.

This wasn’t a proper room, there was no proper window, just a sealed up door directly onto the pavement with a radiator running in front. This was effectively part of the original hall of one of the converted houses. Road noise and conversations from the pedestrians who were actually only a metre or so from the bed made sleeping almost impossible.

We were assigned a basement room with a lovely view of the utilities closet. The room was nothing like the photos. It was only one night, though, and close to our next-day connection at King's Cross.

I have to admit, I was REALLY pleasantly surprised with the hotel, especially being as cheap as it was. The room was small/compact but it’s perfect if you’re just needing somewhere to put your head down for the night. The only things I’d say that really let it down is the water pressure in the shower, fairly thin walls and no aircon but for the price, can’t really grumble. Would definitely be a return customer if I find myself in the city again.

The location is amazing - super easy to get around, close to Kings Cross. The hotel wasn't very lux but with 2 stars I didn't expect it to be - it was sufficient. The main downside, and it was a big downside, was the noise. I've never stayed in a more noisy hotel - you could hear construction, doors shutting, people walking down the hall and boards creaking, people talking in the rooms next door, etc. It was awful and seemed to go on throughout much of the night, particularly on the weekend. I guess you get what you pay for.

Convenient location and clean. However the walls between rooms are thin/badly insulated and traffic noise from what is a busy road made sleeping very disturbed.

Great location, great staff and a decent basic clean room that was comfortable. Good value for the cheap price I paid. Only issue is the walls are so thin you can hear everything from the neighbouring rooms and the street is busy so you get a lot of traffic noise if you are on the front. Take earplugs even if you are a deep sleeper

All the members of staff I met were very helpful and friendly.

The staff was very friendly even when i forgot what number room i was in you wasn't allowed to take the key out with you so you had to hand it back in every time you wanted to go out apart from that i enjoyed my stay i have been to a lot of hotels in London over the past few months it was quiet for being in Kings Cross i will stay there again

We had to book in at another hotel as this hotel was awful. The man at reception had no manners, he was rude. The hotel was a horrible condition, there were dirty marks on the headboards, everything was worn out and scruffy. The room was so hot you were sweating the minute you walked in and the window was open. The room smelled of smoking.

It was a couple stay start at the hotel was very homophobic and judgmental stay away from this hotel

I forgot a folder full of printed train tickets and entrance tickets in our rental car that was returned. The man who was working at the front desk helped me reprint all my lost tickets. He was so kind and so helpful! I can’t remember his name but he was from Argentina. He went above and beyond to help me and I really really appreciate his kindness! He deserves a raise and I highly recommend this hotel. The location is great. It was perfect for us.

The check in at the Arriva hotel was seamless! The room was basic but had everything we needed, including a hair dryer, towels and a kettle with tea/coffee and cups! There was also a fan in the bedroom and we were facing the back of the building, so it was pretty quiet! There was a working TV with Free View channels!

See the reviews regarding bed bugs and called to speak to them as my son has hypo-allergic skin and the staff member I spoke too was completely unhelpful with no empathy, he was restrictive of me speaking to management and felt completely uncomfortable with what I had read just before checking in. For customer service within a hotel it was appalling.

Property is a bit dated. There was construction next door so mornings started out early! But overall, great value for what you get. Great location. Minutes to Kings Cross Station and the Tube. Convenient to everywhere.

The main attraction of this place is that, for London, it's one of the less expensive options. My room, number 25, was on the ground floor. The bed was comfortable but placing of lights and switches was awkward. The pavement was right outside my window and, this being a non-smoking establishment (good!) there were people who went outside to smoke and it wafted in through my window (bad!). It's quite a busy street too, so not quiet if you are in a room at the front. A restaurant was mentioned in the hotels.com description but post-covid it was closed - so you're on your own as far as finding breakfast is concerned. The people at reception were pleasant and helpful. So, in short, it's a basic, acceptable place to stay; I thought it was OK in its price bracket.

It was stated that breakfast was served between 7.30 and 9.30am. The dining room was closed with a notice taped to it stating that because of covid, breakfast was not being served for the safety of staff and guests! Quite happy for everyone to stay! Staff not wearing masks! If they are that concerned, they should not be open. They could have the dining room open, with cereal and bread/toast available for guests to help themselves

There were only bar soap and shampoo for amenities in the bathroom and the shampoo was not a shampoo that it didn’t bubble at all. Location was great. Staff were very nice. They kept our luggage before check in and after check out. The room was warm and ok just to sleep.Too bad there wasn’t a breakfast anymore.

The reception staff were pleasant and friendly. When the television in my room didn't work, I was immediately offered another room. The room was clean and perfectly adequate for my purposes. No breakfast was available, but that didn't matter as there were plenty of eating places nearby.

Around the metro and station King’s cross. I have made my prenotation only for sleeping and the price is good for 4 night. It’s in a silent street, and aroud have some shop and restaurant but with the metro will be easy go to the center. The all staff is very kind.
