Leonardo Royal Hotel London City - Tower of London

Great location as walking distance to London bridge. The tube is right next to it which makes this a great location. Hotel is a bit tired looking and feel a bit worn out. The rooms are decent. Beds are very comfortable. Room itself is clean. Other public area is ok. The pool closes at 9 pm which is quite early in our perspective and couldn’t take enjoy the pool.

Hotel was good, but it was strange that children could not use any spa facilities like the hot tub, saunas etc..We chose the hotel because of the pool and spa, but were not informed in advance about the restrictions for kids.

It's a great place and would stay again. Our ac stopped working and they switch us to a different room quickly. It's not super close to the air port but only you arrive it's great location. I also would recommend taking the tube to the airport because it's right beside the hotel. The hotel was beautiful and the pool is huge and having the steam room and sauna was a huge plus for us. We would definitely stay again.

We booked a romantic New Year’s stay and spa, but unfortunately, we were let down by young children who were loud and disruptive. On January 1, 2025, at around 9 or 10 a.m., we noticed the children accessing the hot tub despite being repeatedly told to leave by staff. On New Year’s Day, the air conditioning in our room was not working, so I had to call reception. It took over two hours, and I had to make a second call to request a manager to come and fix the issue. The spa itself was pleasant, but the Jacuzzi and hot tubs had excessively high chlorine levels. This caused my wife and my eyes to burn from the fumes, and several other guests had to leave the hot tub due to the burning sensation. As a result, our eyes are still sore today from the constant burning. Whilst we would love to stay again, the experience of the lack of spa management, high chlorine levels, has left a dissatistifed experience.

Great hotel in a top London location. Staff are immaculately dressed (I loved this touch) and super professional. Lovely greeting when we checked and were well looked after throughout. If you stay, you must check out the pool. Luxurious and relaxing in one of the busiest and beautiful cities the world has to offer. Hotel is 2 minutes from the amazing Tower of London and the nearest tube… it’s nestled just inside London Wall . You’re central and can get to anywhere in no time. Great hotel, well recommended!

Love the location as it is within walking distance to the Tower of London. Hotel pool had restricted hours for swimming with children which was not always ideal. In addition, the hallways had no air conditioning and you needed to wait a long time for an elevator - I guess it’s eco-friendly but at the comfort of your guests. Hotel rooms were air conditioned and comfortable, and also a good size room for the UK and comparable to what we are accustomed to in North America. Loved the shortbread cookies in the Lobby, and now buying them back in Canada. The breakfast was excellent and was way better than any hotel breakfast we’ve had in Canada or the USA. I would recommend the hotel to friends/family if they were touring London with their family.

Pool was busy, a bit colder than expected and there were only 8 loungers so didn’t get to sit by the pool as hoped and had to just put stuff on hooks instead. Sauna and steam room nice. Hotel itself fine.

Nice size room, shower though small was powerfu. Enjoyed the spa, good pool and the steam and sauna were nice! Breakfast was worth the money especially the omelette

Hotel is lovely Having the lift out of service meant that it took almost 20 minutes to get to the ground floor and we almost missed our train! We really didnt expect this delay - very frustrating and stressful

Hotel was good, good location, easy walking distance to tube and Tower of London. Very slow check in and the lifts were diabolical. Be prepared to wait up to 15/20mins for a lift to your room or back to the reception. Not ideal when you’re on the 8th floor, but would probably still be faster taking the stairs. Spa facilities were good, sauna, steam and pool with hot tub.

I had stayed here many times on business before I retired and liked it very much. The location is superb and the health club is good. I also think it’s good value. However, when we went to our room, the bathroom had been cleaned but very poorly with beard hairs on the wall of the shower and long hairs on the floor. The hotel apologised and sent somebody up. We then went to the spa and on unrolling the robe on our room, found that it had been laundered but still stained. Not good

We have stayed at quite a few of the Leonardos around this area and this is normally our favourite but this time the Room was quite dusty and the remote for the tv control was disgusting

Bathroom not cleaned 1st night, coffee pods not replaced. Then sugars not replaced. Dirty spoons/cups not replaced.

The breakfast was lovely, lots of choice. Bathroom was spacious but a little tired in places. Disappointed the view wasnt quite as good as website advertises, as thats one of the reasons we picked it. Walls very thin as could hear noisy neighbours early morning. Door frames, switches all a little dusty in the room and in the corridors. Otherwise would have given it an excellent. Staff very pleasent and efficient though, couldnt fault them.

The location was great, the staff was friendly. Our room was dirty when we arrived- stains on sheets, dirty mirrors and windows. We cleaned the room before settling in. The air conditioning also didn’t have an option to run a fan all night and the windows did not open. There are no dresser's and we kept our clothes in our suitcases

Room wasn’t serviced, blocked drain, broken drawer, faulty air conditioning. You’re lucky we paid upfront otherwise we would be demanding a discount. We won’t be booking again.

The light in the bathroom constantly flickered so it wasn’t really useable. There was also hair in the bathroom so it wasn’t as clean as I would have liked. The bath/shower is high, so anyone with mobility issues will struggle getting in and out. Housekeeping also arrived at 8am which was well before check out time which I was not expecting, I was only staying for one night so I didn’t expect to be disturbed in this way. Reception staff were helpful as they let me store my bag as I had arrived early and checked in late after a day out in london.

The location of property is good. The hotel is in poor condition. Our group had 2 rooms during our stay. The room walls were not soundproofed but repurposed meeting room paritions that have been stuck together (they even had office partition labels still on it) so you can hear every noise and look awful. The rooms were not cosy as pictured. The bathrooms are flaking and out of date/mouldy. The sink leaked and the toilet made a lot of noise (air lock). Spoke to staff who moved us- stating yes some rooms have real walls, we will move you to one and fix those issues for the next guests. Interestingly as some of our group were next to that room they could hear it was not fixed and the hotel just put others into it in the hope they wouldnt complain. The 2nd room was better however the bathroom again dated, flaking and not what you would expect. Its a shame as we have always enjoyed leonardo but twice now in different locations we are seeing their maintenance standards slip and so we would not recommend staying with them.

Hotel a stone's throw from Tower Hill underground with amazing views over to Tower Bridge, Tower of London and the Shard. Rooms were spacious and appeared recently refurbished - very comfy and amazing views from the 11th floor. We only stayed one night and didn't have time to use the spa, pool or gym facilities. Only down side was noise from the lift - our room must have been near the lift shaft so every time the lift went up or down there was a metallic clanking noise. Would definitely visit again as very good value for the location.

Great hotel although the air conditioning didn't really work so it was hot in Summer

Very spacious luxury room with a distinstiive view of London including Big Ben and Tower of London. Lovely opening your curtains to an amazing sught seeing city in real life. Bed was very comfortable and pillows with a peaceful sleep,no noise disruption and quality sleep. Bedroom amenities have everyhing needed even to toothbrushes and toothpaste and a lovely coffee machine with my favourite biscuits,shortbread. Staff were very profesdional,caring and heloful with directions and recommendations to the cities attractions for our family for all age groups as we had children with us. Underground is a minute walk from hotel which is ideal. Would definately recommend this hotel. 5 star quality.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Huge room with 2 queen beds, a/c worked well, in room amenities were nice. On booking I noted we were celebrating our daughter's birthday and were surprised with a birthday card and treat in the room on our first day. They also provided a complimentary bottle of red wine which was a nice touch. The breakfast was great, many options to choose from and eggs made to order. Excellent location. Walkable to Tower of London and tower bridge; tower bridge tube stop is steps from the hotel which was very convenient and made getting around the city a breeze. The hotel pool was nice after a long day. One thing to note about both the shower stall and bathtub is it is a large step in and out which could be challenging if there are mobility issues. Would stay here again.

Great as always lovely hotel close to everything right on top of a tube station. Great pool and spa facilities. Only let down is the bathrooms are dated and could do with modernisation but still is great hotel.

Room was clean and comfortable. Location is great. Check in took 30 minutes of queuing. We hadn’t checked in on line before arriving but the friends who had still had to queue with the rest of us! Staff thanked us for being patient. The whole hotel, including our room, was uncomfortably hot and the aircon in our room wasn’t working. We asked a staff member to look into this but nothing changed. The hotel is quite expensive and we found it a bit disappointing

Spa and pool were cold. Disappointed that there are two Leonardo hotels with 1 word difference therefore friends ended up at a separate hotel. Rooms were hot and when you put on air conditioning it was extremely load. Opened the window but there was a train station platform almost directly out of our window therefore announcements made from early morning.

Room 802 suffers from the loud and constant noise of the lifts in operation.

The receptionist upon arrival was indifferent to our request to possibly check in early. We arrived at 9am after a red-eye flight from the US and asked if it would be possible to check in early since we were exhausted. She said the room would not be ready until 3pm. I asked if we could give her our phone number so she could maybe give us a call should the room be ready early. She refused. I’m a Marriott Titanium Elite member; I know how hotels work. All rooms are not cleaned at the same time; they become ready at different time intervals as the cleaning staff makes there rounds. The receptionist’s refusal to even consider our request set the tone for the visit and was a horrible first impression. We spent $1870 US ($1400 British Pounds) for three nights. Additionally, the air conditioning was horrible and therefore the room was too warm. The door lock on the door would make random clicking noises through the night that would wake us up unless we had a sound machine going for background noise. I mentioned these problems upon checkout with no impact other than a sorry. I’m tired of companies happy to make money, and sometimes overcharge, but take no accountability for poor performance. She should have offered a bit of a refund for our troubles. That being said, the location is convenient, but that’s it. I’m givibg service 3-stars because the maid service was good every day. We won’t be back. I’ll stick with Marriott.

The location of the hotel is good but the front desk is horrible. First we arrived at 2 and were told we would need to pay 20 extra pounds to have a room at 3. We paid it as we had traveled all night. Then at checkout, we ask to extend until noon and it was agreed. They they called our room 4 times before noon to ask why we’re still there. The female operator sarcastically said “it did not appear that we had an extended reservation”. This was all done despite the hotel agreeing to extend check out an hour. They really need to work on their customer service. It is very poor.

The staff was incredible. Absolutely incredible, every one of them. They all needs raises.

Check in again ridiculously long- way too complicated- all details provided- how does it take 10 minutes?

Reception staff pretty unfriendly. Did not get a superior king room like I booked. No couch or table, no luggage wrack, just a bed and desk. Fridge was locked like a cheap motel. Small bathroom but seemed clean. My view was literally a concrete wall. Safe was broken, had to walk around London with all my money and passport the first day. They did fix it though. They had drinks in the lobby every day for guests, but nothing was mentioned to me about it. Twice housekeeping staff walked in after a quick knock and no time for a response. Very strange. Overall disappointing.

The property was perfectly located right outside the Tower Hill tube stop and I got to see the Tower of London just outside the door every day, which is one of my favorite London sights. Hotel was clean and the desk staff was friendly. The desk staff offered additional benefits and tried to accommodate us when things didn't go as expected (see below). The pool was a nice bonus although, I wish the family hours were a bit more flexible. The breakfast buffet was great too. The maid/cleaning staff was very unsatisfactory. They contributed to us getting in the room late at check-in, even when I requested to get in earlier if possible. They wouldn't answer the phone for the front desk staff when they called to check on the status repeatedly. Also, the first day we requested cleaning, they took our tip from the room, and didn't clean it! I had to call down to the desk about it and they offered fresh towels and apologized. The cleaning staff ended up coming that evening again as we were leaving for dinner. That experience on top of the late check-in made us feel very uneasy about using the cleaning services again and left a bad taste. Other than the poor cleaning service, I'd recommend the hotel again.

Lovely hotel, staff were brilliant. Especially the reception and breakfast staff. The pool was a lot bigger than I expected. Great location, close to tube station and site seeing. We will be back.

Great location, next to underground, Tower Bridge & The Tower of London

Very convenient location close to Towerhill Subway station. Lovely fragrance in the lobby area. Family room with 2 double beds was comfortable and spacious, very reasonably priced for central London. Bathroom was a bit dated but functional. Breakfast was tasty and there was a good variety of options. Would stay again.

The hotel is conveniently located near the Tower of London and walkable to many attractions. It’s also very close to the Tower Hill tube station.

Just steps from Tower Hill Station and within walking distance of Tower Bridge and nearby attractions, this location is perfect for exploring the city. The rooms were spacious, impeccably clean, and the beds exceptionally comfortable. To top it off, the staff provided outstanding service.

Great location. Steps away from the tube/subway. Quiet safe neighbourhood. Large comfortable rooms - very comfortable for families. Great buffet breakfast with excellent staff. Can’t wait ‘til we can return!

Excellent hotel in great location next to Tower Hill Underground, with views of the Tower of London and London Bridge. Very friendly staff, nice room with a great view and an excellent breakfast. We will certainly stay here again.

A really comfortable stay. The breakfast provided plenty of variety. The swimming pool was nice and clean. Staff friendly and great location to stay and get around.

The actual hotel was great! BUT the restaurant was not! We sat and had to order drinks right away even though we told our waitress to come back. Well after 20 mins of not getting our drinks or seeing our waitress again...we got up and walked out. The following night I called down and asked for ice.(there is no ice machine) Nothing, so I went down and got it myself, ok. Then the following night I asked for more ice and cutlery, after 45mins, my husband went down and got it. The service from one particular staff member not very good. I was not impressed and was willing to pay good money. So we never gave the restaurant our business and never would.

Amazing place, clean luxurious next to the Tower of London and has good security. Excellent buffet breakfasts and an egg chef. Special thanks to breakfast staff Aldini , she went out of her way on 23rd May to bring me gluten free toast to my table, and to the super helpful breakfast greeter. I will definitely re-visit . Thank you 🙏

Very average. Paid a small fortune to stay her over the Xmas week, and very disappointed. The good points: comfy bed, good shower, good breakfast, close to the tube & railway station The bad points: Leo’s restaurant food is awful - give it a miss. Soup from the kids menu was vile, fish “goujons” tasted like sawdust, club sandwich was awful & service was pretty crappy as well. Aircon in the room just blowing out hot air, so room was way too hot. Asked for adjoining rooms but they couldn’t/wouldn’t do them (even tho advertised); lifts are painfully slow and super busy;

Excellent hotel with great access to London subway via Tower Hill station. Friendly staff, and great amenities. Best to start your day with breakfast in hotel which offers a lot of veriaties.
