Hotel Oliver, 198 Cromwell Road SW50SN

This was a nice property. The breakfast was good and staff was attentive. They make you leave your room key every time you leave the hotel and ask for a deposit for the tv remote which made us feel like theft might be a problem in the area but we didn't have any problems. The room has a fan which is good and our first floor room had a window which we could open for cross breeze. There is no air and it was very hot while we were there which could be a problem for others but overall it was a nice place.

Staff: were excellent, very friendly & welcoming Hotel: looking old, carpet in main areas & stairs was threadbare. Reception manned 24/7 Tea & Coffee is available 24/7 Room: Small, the entrance into the bathroom was very narrow, so narrow that I had to enter side ways as I couldn’t walk in forwards. Location: 5 minutes walk to Earls Court Tube, Bars, Restaurants & Shops. The Bed was very comfortable.

It should be importante to mention that the lift didn’t work the hole summer. I was with a person with des ability and we had to walk up to 3rd floor. In booking it was mention there is a lift! No body came to help for lagguage.

The hotel states it offers onsite parking - this is not the case at all! I chose this hotel simply due to there being parking onsite, the car park is across a very busy 4 lane road, around the corner and underground which can only be accessed by a key fob which a member of the staff has to get in your car and take you to it. The underground car park is so dimly lit and the member of staff said they would guide my husband back and told him it was okay to reverse and caused significant damage to his brand new car and then said it wasn't her fault. If you wanted to leave the hotel you had to leave your key at reception so they then had access to all of your belongings, if you wanted to watch the TV in your room or use the Aircon you had to go to reception and ask them for the controls to do so. The breakfast room was nice and airy although it was a vast selection of tea/coffee/hot chocolate then you got asked if you wanted cereal or toast and they then brought slices of ham, cheese slices in the plastic packaging and a boiled egg each with some orange juice, there was no menu to order from it was simply just that. The room was small it did the job of one nights stay as we spent most of our day in London seeing a show I'd just say to go a bit lighter on the air freshener or open the window slightly as it was so warm and the smell was just trapped in there till we arrived and was quite strong! I wouldn't personally stay here again as it wasn't suitable for a wheelchair user.

Wonderful location, close to a major tube station (Earl's Court). It was unfortunate that the hotel lift was broken during my entire stay.

Good points: The staff are super friendly and helpful. Location is amazing. Is a very good price. Easy to find. Car parking is very safe. Bad points: Hotel is a bit tired. Continental Breakfast is very basic, which was served as it comes with no choice. But overall, worth the money you pay when you look around at all other local hotels.

This is a perfectly okay hotel for the price. Sure the room is tiny and the elevator never works but that is standard in London in this price range. The bathroom was clean, there was plenty of hot water for the shower and the continental breakfast was fine. The staff are friendly and helpful and the hotel seems well maintained overall. This is a basic budget hotel. If you come with realistic expectations you will be okay with it. If you want large rooms or luxury you will be unhappy.

Hotel very much in need of refurb, room was shabby, carpet threadbare in places, furniture had bits missing, base of bed in two pieces not joined together, toilet roll holder missing, air conditioning not working properly - it was advertised as an executive room - no way! However, convenient for our trip

Was in good location and room quiet. Hotel needed lots maintenance. Light bulbs out, scuffs, fan not working, no remote for tv, just tatty

It's an ok place to stay, considering the pricing. People were mostly friendly. Breakfast was simple but nice, no complaints there. We enjoyed how we were served and the breakfast room is also mostly. Our room was not as clean as one would expect. It felt as if someone was there before us and they just arranged the bed. One of our towel was dirty (probably make up) and there were hair on it. We also found hair on the bed cover, the other towel, bathroom wall and floor. Other than that, bathroom was clean. A decent stay overall. Unfortunately, we'd not return.

The goods are friendly staff and that the hotel is located in a nice area, near an underground station, there are many dining options near by and you can walk to the Kessington Palace, Royal Albert Hall, National History Museum, etc. The cons are that the hotel is old and not good taken care of. Our room has a mold odor, the bathroom didn’t look immaculate, the bed clothing too old and one size of the bed was next to a wood piece that made me afraid that I could hit myself with while sleeping if I’d slept on that side. Breakfast was ok but only 1 option of eggs: boiled which is not my favorite. Coffee, toast and orange juice were good but the ham and the cheese didn’t impress me. Fruit was good.

Room had a strong odour, a bit like a wet dog. Cotton buds with earwax in the bathroom bin. Decor very dated and in need of sprucing up but the bed was comfortable.

It's quite an old property, but safe and clean enough. It's a good option for a few nights stay. The station is a few minutes away and a bus stop right in front.

I have to say, the staff is exceptional. The condition of the property though…. Lobby and public areas are absolutely fine. Our room… well, stained box springs, loose floor tiles in the bathroom, mildew in various places throughout, peeling finishes on the furniture. In desperate need of a deep clean and update. That said- again, the staff was lovely, if you are need of a place for one night, you could do worse. Well located.

Its a convenient Hotel not far from the Tube, Staff are friendly & helpful, Breakfast is good, Room at the front was a bit noisy due to heavy traffic, so if you a light sleeper, don't stay at the front, ask for a room at the back or get plugs for your ears.

Me, my mum and sister all shared a triple room at Hotel Oliver. We stayed in room 112 and it was amazing value! The room was super spacious, clean, it had everything we needed, and the bathroom was modern and spotless! There was plenty of sockets and storage units. The only very small con would be the bed sizes were quite small but that wasn’t a major issue as we only stayed the one night but they were comfortable and there was spare pillows/blankets. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommend staying in this hotel!

Perfectly average. I needed a cheap and convenient stay for work, and this was that. There was no remote for the television, the room was very noisy and quite small. But I can’t complain too much, the price was relative to what I got. The breakfast was very strange and random. A hard boiled egg, some ham and cereal.

Amazing location, and breakfast is good and a great start to the day. Staff are super helpful and kind. Room was super basic, a little musty (old, old carpets), and small, but it’s an affordable place in a great location for you to lay your head down. 3 mins to the Earl’s Court tube station— awesome! It’s run down and cramped, but we would stay here again because it’s all we needed at an excellent price and would stay there again for sure :)

We just needed a room to get our head down between 2 very busy sightseeing days. Hotel Oliver is perfect for that. Yes it has age related marks from peoples suitcases and the odd stain on the ceiling from a past leak but, it’s clean and tidy in general. Listen, if you’re looking for a luxurious and perfect place to enjoy your time at, then you really need to considerably up your budget as this is just a clean roof over your head for the night. Breakfast was filling and the staff friendly. Amazing location for west London so will most definitely be back when visiting this part of London 👍

Hotel Oliver is lovely, and you really can't beat the location. The property is cute & quirky. If you don't come with grand expectations of a 5 star hotel, you should be pleasantly surprised. The room wasn't nearly as small as expected given the price and the location. The beds were comfy and the place was clean. The staff were absolutely delightful, very helpful and even let us stick around for a cuppa after we'd checked out. I couldn't recommend Hotel Oliver more.

A five min walk from Earls Court Tube Station, The Oliver was a great choice to spend the evening in a quieter location after watching the boxing at Wembley. The staff are excellent nothing was too much trouble I will be using the hotel if possible in the future.

From the time we checked in, the team here at this hotel were all super friendly and guest-oriented. The property is a typical English B&B with clean and comfortable rooms, and outstanding service. It is located on Cromwell Road, just about 5 blocks from the Earl's Court tube station. Breakfast consists of a boiled egg, cereal, ham and cheese slices, toast, an apple, orange juice, and coffee or tea. Coffee and tea are provided self-serve in the breakfast room all day. There is a £5 cash deposit for the TV remote and A/C control, given back when you turn those in at checkout. I've been coming to England for 40 years, and really would recommend this place for a traditional and convenient B&B.

Very nice experience. Staff is very friendly and helpful. In the first day remembered exactly what we had for breakfast, seems like no big deal. But it’s attention to detail, and the fact they took the time to remember the things we liked means something they do care about their guests. Making us comfortable and feel welcomed.

There are interesting rules but they make sense and weren’t a bother. The place was clean and the staff were very friendly and kind. I loved the area, lots of food options and stores. Underground is a short walk away with several good lines available. I really liked my stay and will keep it in mind the next time I visit London.

Worst experience, issues were explained regarding shower, wasted lot of time with staff. Hotel manager was very rude while making complaint. They don't care about your stay. Better to be careful and check everything before check-in

As an architect, I would love to get my hands on this historic building and transform it into the bijou hotel it's destined to become! Although my room was tiny, it had all the necessary amenities. However, the furniture and fittings felt quite tired. Despite the small size, I slept very well which was the main reason for my stay. The true highlight of my experience was the staff—they were incredibly friendly, helpful, and obliging, making my stay perfectly enjoyable Special thanks to Stasy, Lume, Irene and Poly!

Staff were all so helpful and friendly. I have no complaints on that front at all, they were great. Location was also perfect, and the price wasn’t high. The hotel has seen better days though. My room had signs of leaking water in the upper corners of the room and the shower was pretty bad, as was some kind of mechanical squealing that thankfully stopped sometime around 10pm and started up again 7ish. But it was clean enough and the bed was comfortable.

Booked in at the last minute when my original hotel closed. Very friendly, welcoming, and helpful: staff from Reception to housekeeping. Includes breakfast: ham, cheese, toast, hardboiled egg, coffee, tea, OJ, hot coco. Short walk from Earls Court Tube on busy Cromwell Rd but good soundproofing and there are very quiet rooms at the back. Excellent free WiFi. Rooms clean, basic and comfortable with in-room safe, hairdryer, basic TV. Excellent value for London. A real find and now my go to option for future trips to London.

Hotel a few steps from bus stops and a few blocks from Earl's Court train station. Lots of eating and shopping options close by. Breakfast is continental, but plentiful.

This hotel is close to everything. Public transportation and public entertainment, as well as popular restaurants and sights to see.

Well situated for Natural History, Science Museum etc, plenty of restaurants, cafes nearby. Enjoyed our stay.

Breakfast is served. No trust to help yourself. Instant coffee in a tea pot and a boiled egg boiled for days. Dropped dot of soap provided in shower but shower so small couldn’t pick it up.

Location great for nearby attractions and getting around London easily. Staff very friendly and helpful. Everything clean. Breakfast area bright and comfortable. Also space to have a hot drink anytime or eat anything bought locally. This is helpful as room was very small. Small beds small space small clothes storage for 2 1 towel each 1 chair for 2 small window small soap with no shower gel. Good sized shower room but no window or fan so bit stuffy. There is a fan but so hot even in September hard to sleep. Little air came through small window. You could keep fan on but noise keeps awake. Am used to road noise so not too bad. Nice to get a breakfast but it is the same every day. Cooked food is the hard boiled egg. Quality is very basic so don’t expect too much. Overall good but 3 nights enough. Bearing in mind above it was an ok stay and staff and cleanliness very good. I think everything tends to be small for price in London and this was at cheaper end so not bad value in comparison with others stayed in. Don’t often get a breakfast included and although basic was plentiful. Thanks for stay

The photos are a fair representation of the rooms. They’re small but the bathroom was surprising big and in good condition. Good shape for a London hotel at the budget end of the spectrum. Towels only changed after three nights. Breakfast was a hard boiled egg, cereal and toast. Juice, tea and coffee were also provided. Not super close to the tube but walking distance. I’d stay here again!

This is a budget hotel and pretty run down, but it is in a great location, only 5 minutes walk to the subway. The breakfast is surprisingly good.

Perfect location for an event we were going to in Kensington. Really friendly staff on reception and at breakfast. Comfy bed, clean bathroom. I’d noted people previously moaning about the breakfast of boiled eggs, plastic cheese etc however it was perfectly fine for what we needed after a night out. What’s not to like? Bread - good, cheese - good, tea and coffee - good, ham - good, fruit - good! Basically a continental, no complaints here.
