The location was perfect for travelers looking to explore the Residence and other historic city center sites. It is literally next door to the Houfbra Haus beer garden and many other interesting restaurants. The spa area upstairs was the best we experienced in Germany out of a dozen hotels we stayed at. Absolutely would return to this hotel.

Beautiful classy hotel, staff were lovely and helpful and service was excellent across the hotel. We had drinks in the bar, the excellent bar tenders looked after us well and there was a great choice of drinks. Rooms were comfortable, roomy and very clean. Excellent location right in the centre for easy walking access with the train station being just a few minutes walk away. Highly recommend a stay here

Beautiful central hotel. 2 couples staying in superior suites and they were very comfortable. Staff were very friendly. Bar staff and cocktails were excellent. Breakfast was fresh and varied.

La chambre était de bonne dimension avec un walk-in closet. L'emplacement de l'hotel est vraiment parfait pour visiter Munich. Le gym est très de base, il manque d'appareil cardiovasculaire. Bel hotel dans l'ensemble.

Wonderful stay!! From check in to check out I could not ask for a better experience. The front desk allowed us to check in early and accommodated an additional nights stay when our flight was cancelled. The onsite bar and restaurants were fantastic!!

The property is located right in the middle of a tourist center. Transportation, restaurants, shops all within walking distance. The staff is very attentive and friendly. The only thing that was a nuisance was the construction going on in one of the cafes in the lobby. Sawing and the smell of resins at times. Not a big deal to me but others may have been turned off.

une tache pégueuse sur la table de chevet n'a jamais été enlevée de notre séjour, Des amis avaient une chambre dans un autre étage ils avaient une Nespresso, nous non. des travaux de façade ont été effectués avec un échafaudage devant notre fenêtre avec des ouvriers qui passaient devant. enfin les ouvriers ont collé un film plastique sur la fenêtre se qui fait que nous n'avons pu ouvrir la fenêtre que le premier jour. Nous ont ils fait payer le fait que nous sommes passés par hotels.com au lieu du direct comme nos amis?

Clean rooms, big room suite. Best room of my euro trip. My only complaint is that the bed was hard as a rock and made it hard to sleep. Also they don't seem to change sheets daily for the beds. My wifes mascara was on the pillowcase still after they serviced the room.

Noise from the adjacent street at 01:30, 02:00, 03:30 disturbed my sleep - poor sound insulation on the window. Apparently I could have booked ‘a quiet courtyard room’ - didn’t know! 😳

This is an historic hotel and is in an incredibly perfect location - close to the train, Marienplatz, English Garden and more. Our room was on a noisy corner of the street but closing the window and the heavy, noise dampening curtains worked wonders. Beautiful bathroom. My criticisms would be that the light swtches and what they turned on and off were confusing, the minibar fridge temperature was warm (this might be unfair as we did not report it to the hotel and thus offer them a chance to make it right) , and the breakfast was just okay but truly uninspired. However, I would not hesitate to stay here again but would take a pass on the breakfast.

Almost everything about my stay was perfect. The hotel is lovely, the location is amazing and the room was spacious and very comfortable. The only down side was the noise from the Hofbrauhaus. It's great that it's so close to the hotel but the noise coming from there was really loud and it was impossible to sleep until at least midnight. I even tried earplugs to no avail. Perhaps the hotel needs to upgrade the windows on that side? Otherwise, I can't say enough positive things about this hotel and the staff and would definitely stay there again, in a different wing of the hotel.

AC is vrtually NONE it's freaking 33C outside, the wifi sucks, if you live above 2fl you have NO to little Wifi reception, and my room is Euro 580 per night.....go figure

Great central location for best of Munich. Service for the most part was excellent, especially the waitstaff at the breakfast restaurant. Clean rooms, great job by maid service. Front desk personnel were hit or miss; some were super friendly and went out of their way to accommodate and others did not wish to be bothered. Asking one, for example, about ordering a massage, he seemed really upset about having to inquire about availability. The young lady who worked evenings was super friendly and offered us bottles of water when we asked. We had a bad start with notifications of room availability, but appreciate being checked in sooner. The queen size bed is not appropriate when it has to be pinned to two walls to accommodate two adults — how is one supposed to climb in/out over the other or to crawl to end of bed? Thank goodnesss we’re not that old yet or have any physical disabilities. This should be better disclosed upfront; just not something to expect from a 4-star hotel. Also, the noise was unacceptable, and both outside the hotels’ controls, but should be disclosed: 1. Rooms facing Haufbrauhaus with loud noise well past 1 in the morning and 2. Construction noise starting well before 6 in the am. Overall, nice hotel, but for the money we expected a 4-star experience and instead it was very average.

During my check-in, the attendant told us that the breakfast for one of the rooms was included. But this information was completely wrong. She told us twice! The room is not soundproof; we could hear not only outside the hotel but also inside the hotel. Last, but not least, I put the “Do Not Disturb” card on the door, and the staff knocked on my door at 8am to check whatever they wanted.

Had two minor issues: 1) air conditioning in room did not work, and it took a long time to get moved to a room with A/C. 2) we asked hotel to line up a taxi to the airport. Driver cheated us: demanded 2x a typical fare and claimed that he could not accept a credit card because of internet connection (despite fact that he advertised taking CC). Do not know whether to hold this against the Platz desk or not. Wish they would have called a reputable driver, though.

A cute and lovely hotel However the male night manager was rude and was that bad one guest I overheard said “don’t Germans like Americans” as he was rude to her and his only response was “I am Hungarian” I even observed him chastising another staff who was trying to help us with a late checkout due to our flight.

Hotel was excellent!! The rooms were fantastic, the location of the hotel couldn’t be any better. We were able to walk to everything. The lobby bar was a great place to grab a drink at night, and the staff what beyond wonderful. We definitely recommend staying here during your trip to Munich.

Can't ask for a better location. Around the corner from the Marionplatz down a quiet street. Near the action and great food stalls, shopping, and restaurants an easy stroll away. Hotel was large and friendly, with a cafe for morning coffee. We enjoyed our stay.

Excellent location, good service, very clean. It is a bit noisy at night being across the street from the bar and plenty bars/restaurants on the street but it did not bother me. This property may not work for someone who needs it to be quiet at night.

Great location! Very comfortable bed. Breakfast buffet was quite good with a variety of options but pricey at €34. Shower was my only negative - the drain was slow and the shower pan was shallow so I had to cut off the shower to avoid overflow. Plus, it didn’t keep an even temperature. I’d visit again for sure.

The rooms were average hotel rooms, which we expected. Rooms were clean and housekeepers was offered daily! Location was WONDERFUL!! It was easy to get to the train station, restaurants etc! Breakfast is overpriced. It was difficult for staff to keep up with during busy periods.

Everything is great, location, services, esthetic, very clean. I chose a bigger room and it was comfortable, so their small room must be a closet, don’t do that. Breakfast was amazing, totally worth a little extra fee!

The breakfast buffet was amazing, as were the wait staff. The front desk folks were very helpful. The little bistro in the lobby of the hotel was great with very nice employees. I wish there was another elevator that could be used to get our luggage downstairs (perhaps open the service elevator for taking luggage to the lobby). Two elevators were not enough, and we ended up “lugging” our suitcases down several flights of stairs; we were a couple minutes late for our taxi! All in all, it was a great place close to activity, lots of restaurants, and the city’s center.

Platzl Hotel is in a beautiful location, close to both the old town areas and Marienplatz as well as the fancy area around the Max-Joseph Platz. The immediate surrounding area is packed with food and drink options including the world famous Hofbräuhaus. The hotel as such is a small affair built in a classic Bavarian style, maybe the most authentic luxury style hotel we’ve been to. Really, nothing in this hotel tries to be generic and international like the big hotel brands. Breakfast is great, solid German style. The most international thing we found was hoummus. Lactose free options were good, but if you’re into vegan options, such seemed not to be a thing. Sleep quality was excellent. All in all, a very solid hotel.
