The Vermont Hotel Newcastle

Location near quayside about 10 mins from Central Station. Breakfast was good, gym was nice. Rooms a nice layout, but cannot turn off the heating and was boiling hot and ruined my stay.

Actually, the only week link of the entire state was the breakfast buffet. Items not hot. Fresh fruit embarrassingly limited. Coffee was great. And the staff excellent.

In theory this should be a great hotel however it’s so noisy at night. Should have realised when we got to the room and there were ear plugs at the side of the bed. Rooms are so hot and no air con so you have to open the windows then you get the noise. Should be told when booking that you won’t get to sleep before 2 am due to the noise of the bars around the hotel.

Lovely room, welcoming staff and well located. A couple of noisy guests going back to their rooms but noise was short lived. Toilet didn’t flush well but great overall experience and we will definitely stay again. One more point to consider, Parking is not free. We think it is too expensive and should be nominal or free with your stay.
