We stayed over a wet weekend and the Hotel was very warm and welcoming. We paid for breakfast but having a guide dog had to sit in the main bar area and not the restaurant which was ok but away from the buffet area. Staff are friendly and very helpful to provide additional or replenishable tea and coffee items as rooms are not cleaned every day. There’s a large car park at the rear of the hotel and be aware at this time of year the hotel puts on Christmas events so the bar can at times be busy, but as the event venue is in a separate building the music from the venue is muted. The rooms and the restaurant are a little underwhelming with little of no decoration save for 1 Santa and 1 tree at the entrance to the dinning room but little else to tell you it’s Christmas.

I use this hotel because it has a high stone wall in the car park that I can back my van up against to secure the back doors. Room , shower and internet are ok. Breakfast is loud and unpleasant with either loud staff or loud radios on.My last stay had a young staff guy talking non stop with other staff for the complete time I was in. Just a turn things down a bit like 95% of hotels do.

Sheffield Mosborough Hall was convenient for a short trip to Sheffield… easy 20 minute drive into the city centre. The hotel staff were friendly. Evening bar food was nice and there was a good choice for breakfast. Our double room was comfortable and clean although the bathroom and room decor were probably due for a refresh. Plenty of safe parking. Recommend for a short stay.

Stay was for one night, so hotel was well placed and convenient for what we required. Room was on the ground floor and had everything we needed. Lovely modern bar which was open when we returned from our concert in Sheffield.

Sympathetic extension to a lovely historic building. Rooms well sized and overall very good. Only criticism is various areas could donwith some TLC or maintenance. Staff were very friendly and efficient. The bar was pretty lively due to parties and weddings.

Beautiful old hotel in superb grounds. My 3rd visit. It’s dog friendly which is essential for me. Staff very friendly especially Angela who made such a fuss of our boy. Its excellent position means a great spot for beautiful dog walks, literally across the road. However I must comment on the room. It was absolutely boiling hot in there, totally unacceptable and uncomfortable, we were given a fan which helped a bit. One of the lights on the wall wasn’t working which made the room very dark. There was also no bath mat in the bath so it was quite slippery when having a shower. . It’s a wedding venue too, the Chatsworth suite in the grounds has its own bar but in the evenings the guests often use the hotel one. Which makes it impossible to find a seat or get served. I was given dreadful looks by some guests when we walked in with our dog. I will go back as it’s such a beautiful place and position and all the staff work hard. But it’s not cheap and the issues in my opinion should be raised .

Hotel is situated in lovely grounds and looks very impressive on the drive up. Room felt like it could do with a bit of updating but was clean enough and comfortable. Bar area and restaurant were also excellent with friendly staff. Wouls stay again

Nice building in beautiful grounds , so perfect for weddings. However the standard rooms are very tired, worn and dirty. Horrible bathroom with poor flushing toilet. Hotel states for environmental reasons theres no housekeeping, to call for towels etc.!! So no wonder the rooms/corridors look so shabby/dirty. Opt for deluxe rooms in the main building which look better, but these are on upper floors and there's no lift.

Did not get my free bottle of wine.. what is the point of being a platinum member and offered a free bottle when I book!! The room was nice enough apart from the smell of damp and dog urine... if your being a dog friendly hotel please clean the rooms properly. The staff are nice and friendly.. breakfast staff are great!

everything looked fine on check in. The hotel looks well appointed and comfortable, and that was the appearance of the room. However it started to go wrong at dinner when my steak was overcooked, swimming in oil and accompanied by a dried out closed cap mushroom, not the Portabella advertised - raised with server who just agreed it wasn't the right mushroom, but did nothing. The grilled tomato was mostly core and the stem and leaves hadn't been removed giving it an odd bitter taste. Then back to the room to work for a couple of hours before retiring to bed. I awoke in the night feeling very hot and itchy, which I shrugged off and went back to sleep. Waking in the morning and showering didn't help, the itchy sensation continued. Blotches and raised bites started to appear before I got to the clients premises. The general opinion was these were bed bug or flea bites. Not impressed!

OK for a 1 night stay. Staff were excellent: very helpful, friendly and courteous. Dinner at the restaurant was very nice. The food was tasty and well presented. We were allowed to take in the bottle of wine we received at checkin. The service was very good. Both the bar and restaurant menus had a diverse selection on offer. The room, number 215, was not exceptionally clean but the bed was well made up which was necessary because the mattress was so horrible. It was old, lumpy with many sinks from longterm use. We couldn't sleep. Asking for a room changed at 11.30 pm when we were ready for bed, would have been inconvenient. Before writing this review, I checked the previous guest comments to see if there was previously mentioned comments Re room 215. October 2025 another guest highlighted room 215 mattress as needing to be replaced. The shower tub combo could benefit from a tub non-slip mat to mitigate accidents. When you are in shower, and wet, calling the front desk to ask for one is too late. Prevention is better than cure or law suits. The plumbing drainage throughout the bathroom needs attention. The hotel location is lovely, well kept grounds and good parking. Looks like a good function (wedding) venue but less of a longer stay hotel. The hotel owners / franchaisee need to invest in some 'wear and tear' replacement.

Was told the kitchen was being refurbished as a result. Breakfast menu was canceller and it was self service of lukewarm food from tureen. So not impressed for the price. Room was reasonable but the shower head was mouldy as around shower screen. Also around the window pains

Nice quiet location. The bedroom walls are a bit thin. Like any old building expect a bit of wear and delapitation as part of your stay. The staff were all lovely and attentive couldn't fault them.

The room I stayed in was basic but clean. No socket near bed which was annoying. Children shouting and roaring in other rooms until 11 pm. Generally very noisy. Only a skeleton staff on duty, bar staff were also restaurant staff so had to wait for service at bar whilst customers were served in restaurant. Staff on duty were very nice and helpful. All in all a disappointing stay for the price

A friendly welcome. We were impressed with the size of the Deluxe double room. It had two chairs, excellent wifi, coffee machine, robes & slippers as described. They offered to carry our luggage upstairs on arrival. The only down side was a van arrived at 7.30am below our room to deliver his vegetables and supplies, which took approx 30 mins and was very noisy. The bar looked nice and comfortable to sit in. Plenty of complimentary parking. Didn't take long to heat the room up. There is a restaurant for breakfast and dinner, but we didn't use it as visiting family nearby.

The room was a decent size. Room 004 backs onto the carpark so we experienced noise from cars coming and going, and a motorbike starting up late evenings. Handy for Sheffield and surrounding areas. Mosborough high street has a pub and a micro brewery a 5 minute walk.

Beautiful old hotel in superb grounds. My 3rd visit. It’s dog friendly which is essential for me. Staff very friendly especially Angela who made such a fuss of our boy. Its excellent position means a great spot for beautiful dog walks, literally across the road. However I must comment on the room. It was absolutely boiling hot in there, totally unacceptable and uncomfortable, we were given a fan which helped a bit. One of the lights on the wall wasn’t working which made the room very dark. There was also no bath mat in the bath so it was quite slippery when having a shower. . It’s a wedding venue too, the Chatsworth suite in the grounds has its own bar but in the evenings the guests often use the hotel one. Which makes it impossible to find a seat or get served. I was given dreadful looks by some guests when we walked in with our dog. I will go back as it’s such a beautiful place and position and all the staff work hard. But it’s not cheap and the issues in my opinion should be raised .

OK for a 1 night stay. Staff were excellent: very helpful, friendly and courteous. Dinner at the restaurant was very nice. The food was tasty and well presented. We were allowed to take in the bottle of wine we received at checkin. The service was very good. Both the bar and restaurant menus had a diverse selection on offer. The room, number 215, was not exceptionally clean but the bed was well made up which was necessary because the mattress was so horrible. It was old, lumpy with many sinks from longterm use. We couldn't sleep. Asking for a room changed at 11.30 pm when we were ready for bed, would have been inconvenient. Before writing this review, I checked the previous guest comments to see if there was previously mentioned comments Re room 215. October 2025 another guest highlighted room 215 mattress as needing to be replaced. The shower tub combo could benefit from a tub non-slip mat to mitigate accidents. When you are in shower, and wet, calling the front desk to ask for one is too late. Prevention is better than cure or law suits. The plumbing drainage throughout the bathroom needs attention. The hotel location is lovely, well kept grounds and good parking. Looks like a good function (wedding) venue but less of a longer stay hotel. The hotel owners / franchaisee need to invest in some 'wear and tear' replacement.

Nice quiet hotel based on old building but tastefully extended. Only issue was recurring issue with room keys being wiped. Otherwise everything was perfect for a quiet stay. Breakfast was generally good. Dinner quite limited and expensive.

Staff are fantastic. Lots of updates in the decor around the hotel in the last 6 months, since I have last been. Only negative is that the mattress has had it in room 215 on the right hand side.

Did not get my free bottle of wine.. what is the point of being a platinum member and offered a free bottle when I book!! The room was nice enough apart from the smell of damp and dog urine... if your being a dog friendly hotel please clean the rooms properly. The staff are nice and friendly.. breakfast staff are great!

The room I stayed in was basic but clean. No socket near bed which was annoying. Children shouting and roaring in other rooms until 11 pm. Generally very noisy. Only a skeleton staff on duty, bar staff were also restaurant staff so had to wait for service at bar whilst customers were served in restaurant. Staff on duty were very nice and helpful. All in all a disappointing stay for the price

Gorgeous property! I loved staying there so much I extended my stay for another night. The staff is excellent, they go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. I would absolutely stay there again. Thank you!

This hotel was selected due to location of where I needed to be. The hotel is lovely, the staff were very friendly and helpful, and willing to accommodate. Thoroughly impressed and would stay again when back in the area 👍

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel has a WhatApp number for you to contact them if you need anything. We contacted them and they were at our room within 5 minutes to provide what we needed. Lovely hot bath. Comfortable beds and spacious room. Good choice for breakfast, both continental and cooked. Staff courteous and couldnt do enough for us. Altogether a very enjoyable stay.

everything looked fine on check in. The hotel looks well appointed and comfortable, and that was the appearance of the room. However it started to go wrong at dinner when my steak was overcooked, swimming in oil and accompanied by a dried out closed cap mushroom, not the Portabella advertised - raised with server who just agreed it wasn't the right mushroom, but did nothing. The grilled tomato was mostly core and the stem and leaves hadn't been removed giving it an odd bitter taste. Then back to the room to work for a couple of hours before retiring to bed. I awoke in the night feeling very hot and itchy, which I shrugged off and went back to sleep. Waking in the morning and showering didn't help, the itchy sensation continued. Blotches and raised bites started to appear before I got to the clients premises. The general opinion was these were bed bug or flea bites. Not impressed!

Really good week here.. room was good, comfy and warm. Reception staff were fantastic, really friendly and nice. Just a shame I had to start work really early and miss out on the scrambled eggs.

Sheffield Mosborough Hall was convenient for a short trip to Sheffield… easy 20 minute drive into the city centre. The hotel staff were friendly. Evening bar food was nice and there was a good choice for breakfast. Our double room was comfortable and clean although the bathroom and room decor were probably due for a refresh. Plenty of safe parking. Recommend for a short stay.

Well situated for South Sheffield and surrounding areas. Lovely staff on duty. Good sized room which was clean and tidy and a lovely bar area. T.he corridors look a little tired and breakfast was quite poor for a hotel of this standard, compared to rival chains. I’d happily stay again.

The room was a decent size. Room 004 backs onto the carpark so we experienced noise from cars coming and going, and a motorbike starting up late evenings. Handy for Sheffield and surrounding areas. Mosborough high street has a pub and a micro brewery a 5 minute walk.

Staff super friendly and helpful. Hotel run well. Bedroom needs repainted and bathroom too, some water damaged around wet areas. But im sure it on the list. Over all nice hotel and location perfect for getting into the countryside and the center of Sheffield.

Do not stay at this hotel! My brothers and I were staying for a family funeral. First impression looked fine. Check in no issues. Got into the room, looked okay until I went into the bathroom. Big black hairs over the bath, toilet and sink!! The toilet was disgusting! The skirtings, toilet roll holder was full of dirt! Very run down. We had dinner the first night! Abysmal!! I asked for a trio of hummus to be met with three pots of the same hummus, one with curry powder and one with cumin! The tortilla chips tasted of oil. Got the chicken and dauphinoise potatoes, let’s just say no dauphinoise just potato and don’t get started on the chicken!! My brothers and steak and said it was just gristle! The poor girl was doing everything she could but was run ragged. Bed was ok but the pillows were awful! Didn’t get a decent sleep for doors banging! Will not be back!

Was told the kitchen was being refurbished as a result. Breakfast menu was canceller and it was self service of lukewarm food from tureen. So not impressed for the price. Room was reasonable but the shower head was mouldy as around shower screen. Also around the window pains

Superb hotel. Staff were lovely and couldn't have been more helpful. Will definitely stay again. Dog friendly was a plus for us and location was easy to find. Thanks for a great stay.
Superb hotel. Staff were lovely and couldn't have been more helpful. Will definitely stay again. Dog friendly was a plus for us and location was easy to find. Thanks for a great stay.

The hotel grounds and rooms are very neat and tidy but the rooms are bare and show signs of water intrusion, water collecting bucket in the corridor is a recent sign of ingress. The dinning room and breakfast was very pleasant with the usual good breakfast fare. They now run a self check in and out system which is very cold and unwelcoming as you don’t have the personal touch

No staff at check in as desk is no longer in use self check in in the bar area. They appear to have events most Fridays and Saturday evenings so some party sound until late but quiet during the night. A few loud guests banging on doors prior to midnight, but quite after midnight. It’s a different quieter atmosphere at breakfast with good availability of the usual breakfast fare.
