easy to find. Area to pull in whilst booking in. car park on site. Staff very helpfull restaurant closed in the evening.

Great location, 125 rooms, but only 25 car park spaces, so arrive early. Breakfast is £12.50, but there are loads of places to eat nearby, which are cheaper. The hotel is old and a bit dated, but the room was clean and tidy. Would stay here again.

EVERY ROOM IS SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT, A LOT OF REFURBISHMENT IS EVIDENT AND THE ROOMS ARE RELATIVELY SPACIOUS, PARTICULARLY THE TWIN BED FORMAT. WE HAVE STAYED HERE A NUMBER OF TIMES NOW. THE STAFF ARE VERY HELPFUL AND THE FRONT DESK IS ALWAYS STAFFED. ITS A NICE TOUCH EVERY ROOM HAS AN IRON AND IRONING BOARD. THE COST IS ALWAYS VERY COMPETITIVE AND GOOD VALUE. BOOKING VIA EXPEDIA CONSISTENTLY PROVIDES US WITH THE BEST PRICE FOR THIS HOTEL. THERE HAS BEEN SOME ONGOING MAINTENANCE ISSUES WITH THE MAIN LIFT BUT THERE IS AN AVAILABLE SERVICE LIFT TO USE.

It was a surprisingly spacious room with a good bathroom and all I needed. The location is superb but parking is a bit of an issue. I found all-day free on-street parking less than 10 minutes walk away.

Old lift and lots of noise during the night.

I believe there are 122 rooms here and had to park in pay and display. I tried the minimal spaces but could hardly fit my car down the route marked hotel parking. Building is clean and staff are lovely but building in dire need of refurbishment. Could here the nightclubs and bars till the early hours even with windows shut. As i said staff were brilliant but unlikely to use this hotel again in the future.

I did go in as it was grubby and the parking facilities were laden with broken glass

WE EXTENDED OUR STAY, THE PRICE WAS COMPETITIVE AND THE ROOM NICE, ROOMY AND CLEAN. WE WERE ALLOWED TO CHANGE OUR ORIGINAL ROOM WAS ON THE 3RD FLOOR, TO THE FIRST FLOOR AT BOOK IN, AS THE LIFT WAS BROKEN FOR THE DURATION OF OUR STAY. IT WAS A TWIN NOT DOUBLE AS BOOKED, WE FOUND OUT ENTERING THE ROOM! THERE A NUMBER OF LATE NIGHT LIVE MUSIC CLUBS AROUND THE SCARISBRICK. THE MUSIC WAS THUMPING AWAY TO 3 IN THE MORNING. THE ROOM WINDOWS ARE TWICE DOUBLE GLAZED. THIS HOTEL IS MORE IDEAL FOR THOSE SEEKING A NIGHT LIFE EXPERIENCE THAN A QUIET STOP OVER. ROOMS HIGHER ARE PROBABLY QUIETER, IT WOULD HELP IF THE LIFT WORKED, ITS SMALL AND A BIT OF A NIGHTMARE WHEN WORKING, SMALL AND THE MORNING OF CHECK OUT OFTEN FULL OF CLEANERS AND THEIR LINEN TROLLIES OR GUESTS WITH BAGGAGE GOING IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION YOU WANT TO GO. TRAVEL LIGHT AND PLAN AHEAD. AVAILABLE PARKING IS OVERSUBSCRIBED AND A LOTTERY. THE BATHROOM HAD BEEN RECENTLY RENOVATED, AN IRON AND IRONING BOARD WAS IN THE ROOM.

Location great. Check in quick and efficient. Lift was not working when we first got there, but we was told we could use the staff lift. Room was a little dated, but all the basics were there and the room was very clean and the bed was comfy, so all good. Breakfast was nice and hot. The girl on the door to the restaurant was very pleasant and helpful. Overall I enjoyed my stay and would stay again

pleasant surprise staying at the Scarisbrick hotel given the number of negative reviews this hotel gets.. our room was spotlessly clean. large with a comfortable double bed. staff friendly. would certainly stay again. good value for money.

Yes there are shops in the area also cafes. There is a small parking area which is free when you book in. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The hotel was clean and the room was clean and comfortable.

Could do with a deep clean

Room was dusty nd cobwebs, tv signal was terrible, no fridge in room , carpet was very marked and looked dirty.

We had a lovely stay here staff friendly and helpful the cleanliness was excellent and great spacious rooms would definitely stay again 5*

Spotlessly clean

Rooms aren't cleaned during Ng your stay. Radiator taps removed so ready on was cold. Stench of effluent on stais from the lobby. Beds are terrible. One guest try to sell hard drugs to myself. The whole place is run down, dirty with a seedy vibe. Wouldn't recommend.

Just a reminder to you that this is a city centre hotel. I haven't had a night yet that wasn't accompanied by loud music until 3 a.m. or noisy early wakers at 5.30 a.m. If these things don't trouble you and you don't mind being very, very warm then you'll be fine.

Rooms have had a refurb, very nice but hotel can be loud due to nightclub underneath

I had to give up at 2.45am and go to reception as the music from the bar down below was so loud. I was moved to another bedroom as i was informed it could go on till 5am!!! The rooms were so hot as well. Could do with some TLC but can't complain overall.

The room was advertised as coming with free wifi, but when I attempted to connect, it asked me to pay. My room was next to a function room, & I went to sleep listening to the sounds of a disco: famous pop songs all retimed to 120 beats per minute.

Room was above a club and live venue very noisy untill 4 in the morning hardly had no sleep

Noisy hotel, live music venues close by until 3 to 4 am

room was clean and fresh, tall cielings and overall decent. Rooms are right adjacent to the clubs and so its impossible to sleep with the noise and vibrations from the club next door. Fom the minute I checked in at reception, staff told me it was going to be noisy over the weekend - so they are aware of the issues - i ended up checking out early and booked another hotel Never staying there again

Very noisy bar open late nearby. Window was screwed up deliberately so no fresh air available.

The hotel itself is quite run down and in need of refurbishment and a good clean! Our room had worn carpet, stained and broken curtains that wouldn't close and we were greeted by a horrible smell from the toilet which hadn't been flushed before our arrival! As we weren't planning on spending much time in the hotel itself, it was tolerable but I certainly would not stay again! Oh and no free WiFi either! If your room was on the first floor, you're fine but we were on the second.... So £7 for 24 hours it is.

The hotel was adequate and reasonable for the money. The majority of the staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. My main issue was somebody (male) opened our bedroom door about 11:30 pm. We did not see who. I said hello and the males shouted lots of swear words. The female who was with him giggled a lot and then they both ran down the corridor. I did not follow as I was naked in bed. In the morning I went to reception about it. The person on the desk could not have cared less. She informed me that sometimes they give people the wrong room number and a key to open the wrong room. All of this left me feeling the hotel was not a safe place to leave things and I was not valued as a customer.

Booked this hotel not knowing it was a Britannia Hotels site and having had bad experiences in the past with them I might not have booked it had I known. BUT - Really pleasantly surprised by this experience, staff were very helpful and available even late into the night. It's a grand hotel that's seen better days as many Brittania Hotels are but this one is better kept than others I have stayed at. It also had lively bars on site, was very conveniently situated close to the station (5mins walk) and my room was definitely a good enough, probably better standard than I would expect for the *very* low rate I paid. I appreciate that Southport has probably seen a downturn in tourism over the last year or two after recent events (I was on business locally) which may have played into the low price but still, it really was a very good rate. Really generally pleased with this stay of 2 nights. The breakfast buffet is cheaper booked at reception (9.95 if booked at check-in) but I'm afraid whilst it was a reasonably wide cooked breakfast choice I attended later in the time slot and it was old and overdone from sitting out under heat lamps. Perhaps my fault on timing not theirs. Wetherspoons is less than 5 mins walk away on the same street for an alternate breakfast choice plus a number of cafes nearby

The staff were marvellous they got the luggage from the car and helped us to the room. They couldn’t have been more helpful during our 5 days. Paul McGregor

We had a couple of bad nites very noisy no sleep but the lovely blonde lady changed our room was very nice and polite

Hotel is fine for the price , we always stay here when we go for a night out as the hotel is close to what we need . The receptionist sue is lovely and always helpful .

Stayed here many times, our preferred choice in Southport. Conveniently situated with obliging staff.

Was not happy with original room allocation but this was resolved straight away with a larger room with better views outside. The receptionist was very helpful and cheerful.

The hotel is absolutely fine. It’s just the rotters that stay there. I would have had a perfectly fine stay if two scallies hadn’t started a massive row and fight in the main corridor at 2am. Like proper yelling at each other - customers are intervening, and scallies are screaming “who the are you telling to shut up!!!” I don’t know what went on. I was almost going to ask, but chained and locked the door instead. Bed was good, TV worked, they have Twinnings tea bags, door security seemed adequate from scallies, breakfast was good. So yeah, the hotel is fine but seems to attract the odd unsavoury character thriving on mass drama (not me).

Sue on reception cannot do enough to help you. She is excellent.

I stay here often. It is a big, old hotel. To be fair Britannia are carrying out subtle renovations. The desk staff are superb, especially Sue and Nat.

We had a great 3 nights at the hotel,our room was spacious and clean,breakfast was plentiful with a good selection of hot food ,porridge was a nice surprise.The hotel was great value for what we paid.

Booked last minute ie Friday night and went sat morning till Sunday morning room 308 was clean twin beds were super comfy room had bath tea/coffee facilities nice tv breakfast was good but think they need covers over cooked items to stop them from drying out so rate breakfast 7/10 plenty off choice and will book this hotel again 30 sept to 1 Oct 2023 MR T

Only problem was breakfast was cold

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, it was only for 1 night, the room was perfectly fine for us, very clean, breakfast was nice. Reception lady was very pleasant. I would reccomend this hotel we went for a wedding near by but wish we had gone into the bar and function room maybe next time because we would definately return
