Kudos to the staff member who did not hesitate to move us to a better room as the first one was quite dirty with pubic hairs on the toilet floor and toilet was not flushed! He moved us to a very clean double room with AC, not all rooms have AC. There’s extra £5 charge for the pool/gym but when we got to the pool we were told they ran out of towels so we had to go back to get the towels in our room! Pool was not great too, hot tub not working as well. Breakfast was very standard. Overall it was ok, it was the bedroom that stood out, comfortable and clean!

Hotel dated and in desperate need of refurbishment. Old and dirty carpets, curtains, furniture. Broken tiles in the bathroom. Pool area old. Tiles falling off. Steam room out of order. The sauna was recently renewed, at least.

The property had everything you could expect.The rooms were modern, clean and spacious.The beds were comfortable and the breakfast had a good selection of both cold and hot food and beverages. We chose this hotel because of the swimming pool which was important for our 4 year old kid. The downisde was that they charged us 5 pounds for using the pool and they would not allow children after 7pm in the pool which really left little time for our boy to enjoy it. If you are traveling with kids please check the times they allow kids in the pool.

A wonderful stay, with good gym and pool. Breakfast being available from 0630 is excellent for business customers. I often find places I stay do not start breakfast until after I’ve left for work.

Good quality accommodation at a great price. The gym was very good the swimming pool was extremely disappointing not much more than a play pool. Rooms are large and well appointed. The breakfast is good and inclusive of the room rate. All in all a good experience.

The hotel & facilities were very good, room was clean, bed comfortable, it was a hot & muggy night, obviously windows had restricted opening onto a busy road beyond and no air conditioning in the room. There was only 1 fan which was not enough in the circumstances which led to an uncomfortable sleepless night. Having at least 2 fans available in the room would maybe have helped for a more comfortable experience (giving the hotel cannot control the weather but could mitigate the effects within its room(s) moving forward). The staff were very welcoming & helpful and facilities were excellent including free parking.

We live local to the hotel and our stay was because our house uninhabitable owing to major electrical work. We have used this hotel many times in the past for office Christmas parties, wedding receptions, dinners but it has clearly become very run down since then. We saw very few staff during our 3 night stay and housekeeping was non existent. One of the car parks was strewn with debris, old chairs, bedding etc. Breakfast was, to say the least, basic and the breakfast room was unstaffed as far as we could tell on all 3 mornings we were there. It appeared that the hotel clientele was mostly tradesmen. We have good memories of this hotel in past years but it has obviously suffered a steep decline. It is not a hotel for a leisure break.

The rooms were dirty! I had to clean the bathroom before we could use it. The rooms had very poor lighting , thats when we could get it working. The breakfast was expensive for what they had to offer. Would not recommend at all.

The room was quite dirty, the floors had dirt & hair on them, the grout in the bathroom was brown, the loo roll holder had a thick layer of dust on it. Sheets and towels were clean. The room needed a light in the middle of the room and plug sockets near the mirrors.

The Village Hotel is a great line of hotels! nice and unique yet modern design throughout. Restaurant has lovely food. Could be a bit cleaner, rooms were a little dusty. Otherwise, a great stay! Will be staying again!

A nicely located hotel, busy with a prom party but otherwise friendly staff and nice rooms. It needs some tlc in the communal areas, and the rooms could desperately do with air conditioning as they were warm.

Staff and facilities were nice, bathroom could have done with some repairs, tap was loose and tile grouting looked a bit gross. Not sure what was going on with the heating as was boiling in the room, had to have the wi does open and fan on at the end of November

Super spacious room - by far multiple times bigger than other accomodations we stayed at in UK. Safe area and easy access to restaurants etc. But the rooms and facility are very dated. Still a good value.

Rooms very tired looking. TV ok. Accessible room poor with very low beds. Very limited number of disabled parking spaces. Noise from bar outside space below room 186 was excessive on 2 nights till after 11pm. Stayed in other new build Village hotels which were excellent however ic this was typical of all the old de vere hotel refits then would avoid in future.

Great location and price. Good facilities. However, if you have a room on the South side with warm weather, the room temperature becomes an issue. Road noise prevents having windows open. Even with windows closed, traffic noise an issue. Together with the heat, not a good night sleep. Be prepared for self check in as reception area is now not used and a credit/debit card required for small security deposit.

Very large room for the 4 of us, and plenty of space to stretch out, one of the lights were flickering, it was reported, but advised no-one would be able to look at it until the week (we stayed over the weekend). Ironing board was broken, so the room was a little tired. Overall however, we were only here for 1 night, and it served as a useful stopover mid journey, and the beds were very comfortable.

On arrival, a number of guests were waiting to check in, however no acknowledgment was given whilst waiting and only person was on hand to allow you to check in, there were 4 people waiting At the check in, I asked what were the pool times I got told they closed at 6pm week days and 7pm at the weekend Which I found extremely disappointing, I asked if she could check that as I’ve never known other hotels with times like that, she confirmed they were the hours Once I was in my room- there was a card detailing the facilities of the hotel and the pool times contradicted what I had been told I took it to reception to clarify, the lady said sorry I told you when the last times for children were My room was extremely dark, I wanted to complete my days work unfortunately the poorly lit room wasn’t functional to work from Upon stepping into my room it smelt damp as it the air needed to be circulated Breakfast in the morning - upon entering the area, you had to wait to be seated After 7 minutes of waiting as there was not a single member of staff in the restaurant I went in on my own accord, eventually some one came out, no greeting at all This was a very poor example of a VILLAGE hotel A poor overall experience, and that has meant when in this area again, I wouldn’t look to book in at this hotel

I like the spacious room and bathroom. There is a bath tub if you want to soak and relax. The parking space is big. The check in and out facility is quick. And if you’re not used to the modern tech there is always someone to help you. There is a pub and restaurant on the ground floor level plus a Starbucks cafe. As soon as you go in your room there is electricity. You don’t need to use your key card all the time when you are in your room to turn on the light or other electric equipment. And the TV has got many channels that we normally watch. The staff are polite and smiling.

Bar staff "mistakenly" gave me change for £10 when i paid with a 20. When queried she begrudgingly called over her supervisor to inform her of my query and then once the till was opened saw that i was correct with a 20 sat in the 10 drawer. A stunted apology was then given. Not good!!!

I’m working night so sleeping in the day when I get back. The first night a cleaner tried coming in my room at around 11 literally knocked and opened the door I was asleep but suddenly woke up and panicked. Second day the exact same thing happens again.. not only this but an hour later it happened again but this time I’ve been told to leave it’s passed 11 and I should be checked out… I explained I’ve paid for late checkout so I could sleep till 11:45. Now in tired and have to drive to hull. Went reception told them and they not even busy just said thanks for staying sorry basically.

The hotel is usually excellent in all areas however last night it took over an hour and a half to get my food to me. The staff were very apologetic and it was eventually dealt with very good. This will not stop me from returning to this hotel.

Our stay here was pleasant. And we got a quiet room on the 1st floor. Some wear and tear in the woodwork could do with fixing or touch ups. The lightin in our room was quite dark. One of the light fixtures was very dim so had to rely on the lamps. But wasnt really a bother. Great location for visitng surrounding towns and great distance to some nice picturesque towns in the cotswolds. And if wanting some entertainment in the evening, it has cinema, bowling and a restaurant. Overall the stay was very nice.

Great modern hotel, with quirky features and swimming pool with a hot tub. We went to the Swindon Designer outlet Christmas shopping. We came back and ate out at the Ridge which is across the road. The Village hotel is in a good Location for the entertainment park with free parking. The club room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. Check out is at 11 would have preferred a later time. The bar restaurant had huge tv’s and cinema seats. The only negative was the hall carpet was worn. I would definitely stay at another Village hotel.

Great location and price. Good facilities. However, if you have a room on the South side with warm weather, the room temperature becomes an issue. Road noise prevents having windows open. Even with windows closed, traffic noise an issue. Together with the heat, not a good night sleep. Be prepared for self check in as reception area is now not used and a credit/debit card required for small security deposit.

Great hotel with amenities nearby if your looking for something to do. We host a family event here and have a private function room for dinner/breakfast and staff are excellent. Rooms are very big and comfortable, room was a little warm but a fan was in the room if you needed it. We will be retuning and making it an annual event.

The hotel & facilities were very good, room was clean, bed comfortable, it was a hot & muggy night, obviously windows had restricted opening onto a busy road beyond and no air conditioning in the room. There was only 1 fan which was not enough in the circumstances which led to an uncomfortable sleepless night. Having at least 2 fans available in the room would maybe have helped for a more comfortable experience (giving the hotel cannot control the weather but could mitigate the effects within its room(s) moving forward). The staff were very welcoming & helpful and facilities were excellent including free parking.

Business trip and have used Village Swindon for 4 years now and invariably it’s an excellent experience - was not quite that way this time - I can’t fault the staff or rooms as usual excellent. But the Breakfast what on earth has happened - not sure if it was a bad day but the hot breakfast was all cold on the serving table - and a group of people were hanging around for Sausages. If it was my first time there it would have been enough to put me off! Would book again - pending the breakfast may not book again

Nice hotel, great gym (all-new equipment) and pool facilities. Rooms showing a little wear’n’tear but all comfortable and clean. Pub/grill on site was excellent, really nice food and friendly staff.

This hotel is look just a little tired now, but it's still buzzing with life. The room was comfortable, reception staff very helpful too. Breakfast was varied, though there was no porridge available on either of the two days we were there. On one of the days, my pain au chocolate seemed like it had been microwaved for far too long. When I bit into it, it was far too hard, and not at all fresh. Very disappointing. The next day though, the pastries were very fresh.

Stayed at your hotel in Swindon. Room was of a good size, clean with a good working area. Food in restaurant was good, not enough choice of steaks though. Paid the special £25.00 meal deal shich I found confusing!

This is an old Hotel, not kept up to date. You can’t control the temperature in your own room, but test by Management. The problem is that you have no choice of covers. All they give you only an heavy duvet, so that you have only two choices, either too hot with a duvet over or cold with nothing on you. The worst breakfast I have had in years. Terrible, terrible. Mostly full of pure fat stuff. Horrible English bacon cooked in the oven with coagulated fat stack to it, fatty sausage, dry as hell scrambled eggs, bottom of the barrel baked beens. The most horrifying coffee made by a machine whose manufacture should be out of business. The worst part is that I have to pay extra to get this terrible tasting poison.

Probably one of the shabbier Village properties that I've stayed at sadly. Also unfortunate that the bar staff were not particularly helpful. Having arrived there at around 9, I indicated that I would like to order food. There were no menus at the bar so I went to get one from a table. By the time I went back to order 5 minutes later I was told food orders had closed. Had they told me when I first arrived that orders would soon be closing I would have made a choice there ans then. Annoying but not the end of the world.

Plenty of parking, friendly staff, brilliant location, nice rooms and brilliant amenities. Only small issue was the car park beside attracts silly kids with loud exhausts into the evening… but nothing a closed window didn’t solve.
