The bedroom and bathroom were clean and tidy and tastefully decorated. We had booked a double room, the bed was very small, not adequate for two people, in fact when my husband turned over I fell out of the bed. So I am afraid we didn’t feel relaxed and refreshed the next morning. The dining experience was very limited, mainly Chinese food, obviously catered by a Chinese restaurant. The bottle of wine was very expensive, very over priced. Breakfast was good. We felt the host could have been more welcoming and pro-active.

A wonderful hotel in the heart of a small village on the outskirts of Taunton. A pub and Post Office/Shop only a few steps away. Such friendly and helpful proprietors. Spacious car park at the rear and a hearty breakfast included. Would definitely recommend.

This hotel is 650 years old and the owner is happy to share quite a bit of history about it. Breakfast was excellent. Just know that the kitchen closes at 9:30 AM. We had room one which was the oldest room in the hotel and had an incredible bathtub.

Quirky place, very old and it felt like it but for what i needed it was fine. Wifi was pretty bad.
