Property was in a handy location, easy walk to the waterfront, shops, cable car and museum. Staff were friendly and helpful. Two bedroom apartment was comfortable and spacious although the bathroom was quite small. Parking was across the road in a Wilsons Car Park - $40/night if arranged through Quest on Johnston.

We had a brilliant few days staying in an apartment here. The room had everything we needed and was very comfy :) Only slight criticism is that the gym was quite small and would be better with a simple bench and some dumbbells, but overall the hotel was great!

It started off poorly right at check in. On the Expedia app it’s clearly advertised as “parking available”, which is one of the reasons I picked this hotel. Little do you know, you have to read the fine print and parking is limited. The hotel staff then proceeded to tell me she didn’t know what to do because she just returned from a vacation herself. I will also add here that the bathroom had mold all over the shower and there is clearly a musty smell, just disgusting. The next morning, this same employee (Tamara) proceeded to call our hotel room at 7:00am multiple times just to say parking isn’t advertised as available. We go to the front desk on our way out and she continues to say parking still isn’t available. She gave us horrible attitude and essentially told us off, HORRIBLE customer service. We return to the hotel just before 8:00pm and a different front desk employee offers us parking for additional $40 a day when we have now already paid to park the car elsewhere.

Overall a great place to stay. Very clean and nice up to date decor. Staff very friendly. Well equipped. Downsides were no aircon so was too warm overnight. And everytime someone showered the plumbing system made loud sound like a foghorn which woke us up and was at an intrusive pitch. If you’re not bothered about that then this place is good value for money and in a great location for walking around the city.

This is a good downtown spot. We had a two bedroom - second bedroom had no storage but otherwise ok. Enough of a kitchen to have breakfast. Parking is across the street (only 6 or 7 places so we were probably lucky) Very easy walking to tourist sites, restaurants. Washer/dryer unit washed but did not dry clothes - either we didn't figure it out after multiple tries or it didn't work. Housekeeper brought up a second drying rack (annd hung our clothes up!)

This is one of the best accomodations I’ve every stayed in. The two nights before I’d stayed at a fancy hotel which I didn’t like nearly as much as the Quest. The anenites in the room were great. The service was fantastic. The suite as large. I think it was possibly the cleanest room I’ve ever stayed in. I highly recommend Quest to anyone staying in Wellington and I’ll definitely go back if I’m in Wellington again

This was a one night booking to bring two teenagers down to WOW. Location was ideal, right in the heart of central Wellington, just 6 minutes walk to TSB Arena, and within moments of some great cafes and shopping, plus the waterfront area. Paid more than I should have for a 2 bedroom unit to give us all some space. The lobby is basic but what you expect from Quest. The unit appeared clean but we didn't use the kitchen. Beds were reasonably comfortable. Bathroom quite pokey. Perfectly functional for a short stay. Only complaints were two: there was no soap in the shower soap dispenser (annoying to discover once you're in the shower) and secondly once in bed/lights off discovered with my feet a cap inside the sheets at the end of the bed. This was somewhat disturbing and made me question if the sheets had actually been changed after the last visitors stayed in this unit. Both concerns were raised upon check-out and to her credit the staff member immediately apologised and acknowledged the unpleasant finding of the cap, and refunded me 20% of the rate paid. This was greatly appreciated.

Disappointing, room very small and dark, bathroom very small, shower tiny, could just fit in shower. No airconditioning, noisy, very hot in room so very uncomfortable. would not stay here again and definitely would not recommend. Not sure how they can get away with some of the room issues. Website very deceptive.

Our room was a studio on the 11th floor, the room was a little on the small size, the shower particularly so (comer unit with diagonal sides). Being on a side street you heard little road nose. There are plenty of food options within easy walking distance of the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, we were able to check in very early which was excellent.

Room was clean and had everything required. However for a 1 bedroom apartment was very small. Was long and skinny with not enough room to even open front door fully into hallway. Had 2 small windows which let in little natural light so you needed the lights on all the time even when a glorious sunny day. Sure there must be other rooms in building with better space this wasn’t it I won’t be staying here again to find out.

DO NOT BOOK IF you suffer from motion sickness or anxiety. The building sways in the wind in such a way that the bed moves and its difficult to be steady on your feet. I was there on a very windy night and had to spend an hour sitting in the foyer to avoid seasickness. It felt a lot like being on a boat or in a rolling earthquake so not great for wellington.

I booked a studio room but became a two-bedroom flat. What a surprise!, also the view out in 13 floor is so amazing, I have the best view of the city skyline. I totally recommend, and will be staying here when I come back to Wellington. Thank you.

We were upgraded to a two bedroom suite, spacious and quiet despite the city centre location. The staff, especially Tamara, were super helpful. The suite kitchen area was fully equipped. I did have trouble with the washer, but Tamara whisked away our laundry to be done free of charge, and returned to our room that afternoon. Upon leaving we booked another stay three days later before our ferry to the South Island.

The Quest on Johnson is in an excellent location, just a few blocks from the harbour and with lots of great restaurants nearby (highly recommend Avida, just across the street). The bed was comfortable and the room was quiet as long as you keep the window closed (4 AM garbage truck). Shower is small but good water presssure. Kitchen is reasonably well equipped. The unit had a bit of an odd layout and the TV in the living room is mounted too high to be able to watch comfortably. Two very small windows opening to an alley resulted in a dark room, but it was fine for a short stay.

This was not a great stay - according to the staff, they replaced the mattresses recently, but unfortunately they chose very poor quality ones. I could feel springs against my legs, there was no topper or insulation against them. They also had not cleaned out the washing machine from the previous guests, so I had to remove used powder from the wrong slot, and it had not had a decent lint clean out for a long time, so it took three drying cycles to dry my clothes. Also, the “security lock” on the door is installed backwards, so just falls off when the door is opened, defeating the purpose of the security lock. Lastly, beware, this hotel will take reservations after their check-in counter is closed - which means you need to wait 20+ minutes to call a service centre on the intercom, then wait for a duty manager to come to check you in. Overall a very poor experience, would not book again.

A well-run hotel. I know this affects the room price, but it would have been great to see a staff member over the two day’s stay. Slightly impersonal in that way only.

It started off poorly right at check in. On the Expedia app it’s clearly advertised as “parking available”, which is one of the reasons I picked this hotel. Little do you know, you have to read the fine print and parking is limited. The hotel staff then proceeded to tell me she didn’t know what to do because she just returned from a vacation herself. I will also add here that the bathroom had mold all over the shower and there is clearly a musty smell, just disgusting. The next morning, this same employee (Tamara) proceeded to call our hotel room at 7:00am multiple times just to say parking isn’t advertised as available. We go to the front desk on our way out and she continues to say parking still isn’t available. She gave us horrible attitude and essentially told us off, HORRIBLE customer service. We return to the hotel just before 8:00pm and a different front desk employee offers us parking for additional $40 a day when we have now already paid to park the car elsewhere.

We were upgraded to a two bedroom suite, spacious and quiet despite the city centre location. The staff, especially Tamara, were super helpful. The suite kitchen area was fully equipped. I did have trouble with the washer, but Tamara whisked away our laundry to be done free of charge, and returned to our room that afternoon. Upon leaving we booked another stay three days later before our ferry to the South Island.

The staff were amazing. I had to travel to NZ for a funeral. Nothing was an issue with the stafff at the hotel when I asked for assistance.

Convenient location in the heart of Wellington's CBD. Walking distance to shops, and restaurants. The apartment was generously sized with 2 seperate bedrooms with double beds, & lounge / kitchen.

This was our second stay at this hotel, the other having been the previous week. unfortunately our ferry crossing was cancelled because of a storm. Eric was able to extend our stay one night stay for a further night with parking, but sadly they were fully booked for the two extra nights we needed. The location can’t be beat, next to a variety of excellent dining, shopping, and the port area, all within walking distance. We would definitely stay here again.

We booked and arrived outside of the reception hours (closes at 6pm) due to evening flight cancellations. There was an after hours process which included calling a contact centre who then needed to contact the duty manager to check us in. They couldnt reach the duty manager so we waited in the lobby for 20-30 minutes before she showed up, along with a few other travellers in the same situation. The manager was very apologetic about the situation and did make up for it by giving us an upgrade however I would not recommend this hotel if you need to check in after their normal reception hours. The hotel was basic but clean and comfortable except for the elevator and lobby floors which were very sticky.

Full kitchen to cookin. Woolworths supermarket was about a 5 minute walk away. Its is next to the bus stop, just around the corner. Comfortable bed.nice lounge room to relax in.
