Full of character (with a museum in the basement). Close to restaurants and other sights (the cathedral/museums etc...). Self catering in rooms is basic - better to eat out. About 120 Euro taxi ride from Catania airport. Reception is not 24/7 so arriving out of hours needs some advance planning. Reception staff are very helpful. Ortigia itself is tiny and you can walk everywhere. Don't forget your afternoon siestas.

Dette er det mest spesielle hotellet jeg har bodd på. Ingen luxus, men utrolig mye sjel og en helt spesiell opplevelse! Nydelig sted og veldig god service. Er et gammelt adelshus, med en koselig bakhage. Ligger midt i smørøyet i den gamle delen av Siracusa. Er en del trapper og har ikke restaurant/bar så vær obs på det. Men opplevelsen er svært autentisk og noe man husker lenge!

It's a beautiful hotel indeed, with a lot to offer: a historical embience, elegant decor, spacious rooms, convenient location (both Duomo & Fontana di Diana are within a 10-min walk), simple yet adequate breakfast.... But all these good qualities are offset by a lack of maintenance of its facilities (shower head that seems like breaking down and keeps leaking water from its handle, air conditioner that shuts itself down within 30 mins of operation...) . Service-wise the front desk is only manned for limited hours a day and you won't be able to seek help or advice outside these hours. I reported the facility defects to the front desk staff but at the end of my 4-day stay, they were not fixed. All in all, a mediocre stay that should have been great. Full potential wasted!

If you like rustic and history, this is undoubtedly the place for you. We loved it. Your neighbors are local people and you feel completely immersed in the local experience. The jewish baths were a plus, although we felt the charge for a 20 minute dissertation seemed a bit steep ( 7 Euros) The buffet breakfast was worth the convenience, light but pleasing enough. Our beddings and pillows was like lying down and smelling down feathers! This is how we sleep at home, and never, ever get down beddings in any hotel or bnb. The staff, especially Jess were very helpful. They let us check in early and put us in a room that didnt require climbing steps, since my husband had a fairly recent knee surgery. I would absolutely stay at this place again! There are restaurants near by and everything is in walking distance. Wear comfortable shoes. Ortigia is mostly old cobblestones.

It's an apartment, the rooms and bathroom are in the second floor, which has a very low ceiling, if you are 1,75m or more you can't walk standing up straight without hitting your head! The shower had no effectively box, so all the bathroom gets wet. The external window of the main bedroom was broken, and there was no black-out curtain, so we have sunlight in very early in the morning. The breakfast could have more fresh fruits once it's a hotel in Sicily! Also the bread was over 9h20 and there was no refill! They call this a hotel, but the reception is there only for a few hors a day and they can't help you even to call a cab!

We cannot recommend staying at this hotel. In fact, we didn't even stay and chose to book elsewhere after check in. The photos in the listing are in no way comparable to the actual rooms. The furnishings were worn down, uncomfortable and not well kept. The bathroom had visible mold and was extremely old, not in a charming way. There is no AC in the bedrooms either. The clerk was not particularly welcoming or accommodating. There are many other hotels in the area, choose a different one.

Las fotos de la propiedad son una mentira. El cuarto estaba en pésimas condiciones, enchufes rotos góticos fundidos, la secadora de pelo rota colgando. E papel de baño lo ponen sobre una silla oxidada, las llaves de agua y la regadera están oxidadas, solo alcanza el agua caliente para una persona. Llegamos a abrir todas las ventanas por el olor a humedad y aromatizante. Hay un tapete que se te pega a los pies de lo sucio que está. My room was so far from the front desk down an alley with limited wifi. I asked them to move me the 2nd day. The bathroom had mold in the shower and the kitchenette needed updating. The blowdryer was broken and the mirror was old. This has a great potential for a hotel but needs updating. The room was big and could have been 2 rooms.

La struttura merita il soggiorno, una esperienza da vivere in quanto a location. Purtroppo la vetusta di molti particolari inizia ad esser evidente e manca totalmente l’assistenza e la cortesia da parte della gestione nei confronti dei clienti. Rapporto qualità /prezzo corretto, dato il pessimo servizio evidenziato che si contrappone alla bellezza della struttura in se che probabilmente, se fosse accompagnata da una doverosa attenzione al cliente, avrebbe tutte le carte in regola per posizionarsi su una offerta di prezzo ben più alta dell’attuale.

Struttura antica ma le camere sono sporche . La cosa peggiore è che le camere sono molto umide ed emanano un odore molto invadente , sembra di dormire in una cantina. In più dalle travi del soffitto della mia stanza cadevano pezzi di truciolato che aggiungevano lo sporco alla stanza e al letto..... Colazione di scarsa qualità con prodotti preconfezionati . Persone non troppo professionale che ci ha parlato male di altri clienti appena arrivati .

This is easily one of the most charming and wonderful hotel stays that we have had in years. We would not only stay here again, but highly recommend it. We enjoyed this hotel. It was charming and close to everything. Just one road away from the sea. Could use a few updates, but we didn't spend much time in the room for it to bother us. The staff were helpful and friendly.

Die Unterkunft ist in die Jahre gekommen. Das Bett war sehr hart und unbequem. Die Unterkunft liegt für Erkundungen des Ortes sehr gut. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und die Frühstücksräume sind historisch, einfach sensationell.

Sehr schönes und historisches Hotel aus der Mitte des 18 Jhdts. Wir hatten ein Apartment mit Balkon sogar Meerblick, auch wenn über die Dächer der Häuser vor uns. Klimaanlage und die Fensterläden erlauben einen erholsamen Schlaf. Frühstücksbuffet voll in Ordnung.
