The first clue to a lack of quality was that the airport shuttle did not arrive as requested. A couple of phone calls to the staff did not resolve the issue but it appears the van ran out of gas and would not start. We took an Uber. The hotel did reimburse but it was very frustrating taking over an hour to go 2 miles from the airport, Nex was at the reception desk where an apparent computer malfunction had some guests getting keys to rooms already occupied or had not been cleaned. Kind of a long wait to get checked in. Carpet in the room was old. The rooms and common areas are outdated and tired looking. Weird odors in the hallway left a bad impression. Then getting the shuttle back to the airport seemed to be a surprise to the driver despite that we had reserved a time to depart with the desk. Driver complaining to us – the guests—that he was not told. Oh well. All in all, it was kind of a depressing place--but it was close to the airport for a long daytime layover so…we survived.
