Sonesta ES Suites Tempe

We like the location staff is great especially Jayme at the front desk. We did loss power twice. There was a humming of and on in our room and the hot tub was not hot at all. Over all I would recommend staying here and we will stay again.

The hot tub didn't work, one of my TVs and toilets didnt work, and there was an abundance of mosquitoes that somehow got into the room. And the pool wasn't the cleanest.

the hottub was not working and had to pay for parking space each night per vehicle. parking should be included in the hotel nightly rates. otherwise enjoyed our stay and the rooms were very nice and spacious.

The room, towels, bedding sheet is not cleaning everyday. You have to go to the front desk, and return the used items. The breakfast every day is the same. Not alternative if you have any health conditions or food allergies. The pool was very dirty. The neighborhood is not safe. You have to pay for Parking, They said has security, but I never saw anyone in 4 days. Check in and out process fast. Across street an Outlet Mall, very nice.

I specifically chose this hotel for the amenities, norhing worked, pool, hot tub nor fire pit. Also only 1 bathroom worked in our suite. They tried to fix it but immediately broke again. The gentleman who checked us in was great, very personable. The girl on Saturday just shrugged her shoulders and said oh well like i was a nuisance

The hotel was older rooms but it was clean. The bed was comfortable. The room was a good size with a kitchen and sitting area. The light in the shower and toilet room was out and it took most of the day to get it changed but they were apologetic on the delay. The breakfast was a full breakfast and adequate. The pool did not work until our 2nd to the last day. Apparently it had not worked for 7 months. The staff were excellent and helped in every way. We were early for our check in and we also requested a bottom level room because there is no elevator. They accommodated us with both the early check in a a first floor room. It met our needs for our stay. Would rate the staff an A and the accommodations a B.

Our stay was brief, room was clean and very roomy. We went down to the pool and it was closed. Price was expensive to stay felt at least sit in hot tub would make it worth it. Other then that no complaints . Fyi this hotel is like apartment complex there is no elevators and the sit does not say that.

Amazing stay. Helpful and friendly staff. Spacious rooms, very comfortable beds, full kitchen and full size fridge (only appliance it didn't have was an oven or cooktop) Smart TV with great selection of channels to watch, smart outlets with built-in charging for use with both USB-A and USB-C cables. Breakfast was offered daily 7-9am and was delicious every time. Waffles, eggs + bacon, muffins + pastries, several choices of cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, juices/coffee Housekeeping doesn't bother you every morning like typical hotels, here they only come once per week to do a wellness check and otherwise get fresh linens daily from the front desk staff. They have large pool with chaise lounge chairs around and a Jacuzzi. Fitness center and business office area by the front desk. Unfortunately, the guest laundry facility was closed for an unknown period of time. Also, the water pressure in my room was so low it was ridiculous.

The hot tube was out of service but was not told. Was looking forward to using the hot tube after work

I don’t believe my room was properly cleaned before my stay a lot of the dishes that were provided were still dirty. There were stains on the bed and floors which were not made by me. I also left with itchy bumps on my legs from sleeping in the bed which weren’t there before my stay not sure if it’s the detergent or whatever the case maybe regardless i’m left with itchy bumps. Another thing was that neither the wifi nor the TV in my room did not work.

Probably the worse hotel I have stayed in many years. I arrived at 1:30 they had rooms but check in is 4PM they said they could check me in early for an additional $40, how ridiculous is that! The room is filthy, the bathroom tile floor was dirty sticky and broken. There was no soap dispenser only a patch on the wall had to ask front desk for some soap. I have never seen a dirtier filthier hotel in over 30 years since I was in college.

No soap at bathroom sink or shower. No shampoo either. Appearance of room was neat. I spilled water on the floor and when I cleaned it with a paper towel the paper towel was so dirty indicating that the floor was not mopped. Usually rooms are great. Last couple of stays we were disappointed.

The carpet was absolutely disgusting and dirty! The dishwasher was half broken. When we would walk, barefoot on the carpet or feet will get black!

The place was very dirty and run down, mold on ceilings nothing was wiped down, smelled horrible bedding did not smell clean lights didn't work and rust in toilet and tub nothing tub and sink wouldn't drain door knobs broken breakfast was a mess

1st room dirty dirty walls,doors,mirrors,toilets staind, oven dirty old food in it, french doors glass dirty, floors not vacuumed clean, chairs and sofa dirty from food or ???, top of refrigerator nasty dirty plus the pots and pans not clean 2nd room was the same but not much cleaner than the 1st room i have the pictures to show it

The property is right across from a mall and there are several dining options in the area. The traffic is very loud in the rooms and there are several long term stays mixed into the short term and they are loud coming in and out of the rooms. There was also trash outside several room doors that was sitting out for a long time. The room needs deep carpet cleaning because the smell of smoke is strong. Also, more designated smoking areas away from the rooms and AC units needed because people were smoking next to the units and it could be smelled into the room.

Ventilation duct work was dirty. Pull out sofa was not clean. Room smelled funky

I've stayed in a Sonesta before, but not this particular one. Check in was normal (wish they would have told us there was no wi-fi unless you signed up for it), but the toilet was not clean and had, well, other people's bodily fluids on it. I was so tired that I just went to bed - only to listen to the basketball game under my window, which was broken btw... In the morning the coffee cups still had coffee stains on the outside of them, so I washed them before I used them. By then I was go grossed out that we didn't stay for the free breakfast. I was afraid of what I might find in the food or on the dishes. I would stay away.

I was pleasantly surprised with this gem of a hotel. The room was clean and very spacious and included a kitchenette. I will definitely consider this hotel when I need a hotel stay.

The Hotel was fine, would recommend a room farther back on the lot. I was placed in a room right on the corner and heard traffic ALL NIGHT

Travelers beware – this is not a nice place. I would consider it bottom of the barrel, like slightly above a Motel 6 or a similar cheap stay. It's more of a long-term stay motel than an actual hotel. There were outlets that didn’t work, the sink and the tub drains were both clogged, the bathroom sink sprayed water everywhere instead of coming out of the tap in a stream, the WiFi is terribly slow - and it’s an open network with no passwords so your data and devices are at risk. Loud tenants above and on either side, up all night screaming at each other. The included breakfast was very poor quality and not good food at all, I was gagging on the eggs. The lobby has a very small selection of essentials, like travel sized aspirin and antacids, but nothing else - no disposable razors or other frequently needed necessities. Not in a good part of town. Very dirty and loud area, police and fire truck sirens all night long on both nights. I should have just paid the difference and stayed at the Holiday Inn that’s next door. I will never stay here again and I cannot stress enough, if you’re traveling for business this is not a good place to stay.

There was some street noise because being on a main road but we had white noise to drown it out. Bed was very comfortable. The room was very roomy. The shower was good with great water pressure. It did have some signs of age but not terrible. The room felt more like an apartment than a hotel room. We would stay there again. The staff was very friendly, helpful and accommodating.

It is very nice but could use some new carpet and a good wall scrub down. But for being so close to Tempe the price was pretty nice. Out looking a main Street noise wise it was pretty quiet. Wouldn't mind staying again if they renovated some units.

The location was in a busy location but it was very quiet. Blackout curtains were nice as we slept during the day because we were on night shift.

Room had a complete kitchen. There were no disposable coffee cups - so there's no way to avoid washing dishes. The room setup seemed a bit odd though: no dining table. There were lots of noise from adjacent street.

People above us were extremely noisy. Sounded like they were coming through the ceiling.

The manager was absolutely rude, refused to give me a complimentary upgrade. He stated that he had no rooms available, however when I showed him he did have rooms available he stated that he could not give a room up grade because a hurricane was expected to come Sunday. I checked in Friday and scheduled to check out Saturday ! When I explained to the manger that I would be leaving before the storm he then said “ well I cannot give you one because were not to give complimentary upgrades to 3rd parties. There were no wash clothes the bathroom floor was dirty and there were no extra blankets/ sheets in the top of the closet to utilize on sofa bed. When I asked for the general manager’s business card. I was given a torn white piece of paper when the incorrect number. Sonesta in Tempe is nothing like Scottsdale. It’s a shame to have to travel to Scottsdale to be treated with kindness and consideration. I’m glad the Sonesta in Scottsdales is not Terrible like the one in Tempe.. The general manager looked disheveled and instead of greeting me with an introduction he greeted me saying “ What is your question” I hope they have audio recording to see how unprofessional he was and how he made several excuses( lies for reason why he could not offer a complimentary upgrade) SONESTA IN SCOTTSDALE PLEASE TRAIN THE STAFF IN TEMPE. Amanda at the Sonesta in Scottsdale needs to train the staff WORKING AT THE SONESTA AT THE TEMPE LOCATION! They also do not provide wash clothes in the room!

Oddest experience. Checked in. Guy tries charging me for the room. I tell him I’ve already paid. He argues so I SHOWED him my receipt. He still argued. So I SHOWED him the transaction on my CC. Still argues and says it was a pre charge for incidentals but will fall off. So I show him that it says “posted total” and I showed him how my balance was zero and showed him where I made my payment, then showed him the receipt again. He gets quiet for a minute then blames it on the person who was working when he was gone saying they left a note in that payment needed to be collected. Why he believed a note over my proof is beyond me. Then he takes the keys back from me, gives me new keys and tells me we’re done. Why the change of room? No clue. We get to the room and it’s on the road side (you hear cars all night) both locks were broke on the exterior door.

Front desk is extremely rude, management doesn't seem to care either. Poorly managed, they hang up on people when they don't feel like attending a patron. AVOID THIS PLACE!!!!

Hotel was just fine for an extended stay hotel but the front counter staff were hilariously lazy and inept. After confirming that I had paid for late checkout, cleaning staff arrived *before* my established checkout time and then my door was electronically locked while I was moving out my belongings (again, before the checkout time I paid for). I asked for a paper receipt of my stay and was told I would be emailed one. I was not emailed a receipt. When I asked to be emailed one, the woman at the front desk placed me on hold for almost 20 minutes only to tell me she couldn't even email me a receipt. Thankfully Expedia's automated assistance worked harder and more effectively than Sonesta's in person front counter staff. The owners/franchisees would do well to check in on their employees as they seem to need a little additional training.

Jamie and Kassandra (sp?). Have been the best and most helpful. They are very knowledgeable and very helpful and friendly.

Both Jimmy and Nancy were fabulous! We arrived early due to coming from out of state and our room was ready. Jimmy checked us in & was friendly and efficient. He remembered us throughout our stay and always said hello. Nancy helped resolved an issue with extreme pleasantries. We will be staying here again!

I arrived to check in at the hotel and Allison, the desk clerk was very unprofessional and had a nansty attitude. I REFUSED to even continue to check in or spend any money at this hotel. This was a bad experience and not a good look for Sonesta Suites name. I have had great experiences with this name in other states, but as a Black educated and professional Healthcare worker, TEMPE ARIZONA, has been the worst ever and iI will NEVER EVER, attempt to stay at this location in me entire existence. I suggest she be in Good Customer Service 001

The customer service was exceptional! I checked in at the property at 1.30 am and I informed the front desk that I would be checking out at 6.30 am. I was told that the breakfast would be available at 7.00 am. When I told the receptionist that I have a sightseeing tour booked at 6.45 and so I will have to skip the breakfast, she said that she will try to see if anything could be made available earlier, and to my pleasant surprise she had a breakfast pack, with bread jam, muffins, fruits and water kept ready for me when I came to check out at 6.30 am. I would like to appreciate the thoughtfulness and hospitality of the representative, Leah J.

Great front desk and cleaning staff. The breakfast was fantastic! Well maintained property.

Great location for a long term stay it gives a home vibe verses hotel vibe I would highly recommend staying if you have kids the units are very comfortable the breakfast is great the staff are kind and helpful and the surrounding area has almost every convenient store including Arizona mills malls just a walk across the street.

Property was centrally located but quiet. Great staff. Well maintained. Quiet. Offered free breakfast and WiFi. Very affordable.

The hotels location was very convenient. It was right by the mall and a lot of restaurants. The room was spacious and clean. It did have a musty smell when we first walked in, but the staff brought air freshner right away and it did the trick. We felt very safe walking from the parking lot to our room. The area was well lit..

Where do I start? This area isn’t safe and the lack of elevators to get to the second floor especially when you need them. There is no way I would be able to carry my 7 month old with luggage across the property and then go upstairs. When I called the front desk I asked about handicap or ground level rooms and I was told “we must be out”. I should have known better to have booked a room in this area. It is not safe even with the security guards in the parking lot. Couldn’t stay in the room cause I couldn’t get to it. Waste of money. Never again!

I was surprised about having to pay 5 dollars a day for parking and then parking availability was not that great. I did not feel that safe if I was going to be alone to walk to car.

There was a hot breakfast every morning and there was only one woman working. She did a great job! The front desk Staff were helpful and kind and accommodated my late checkout. They also helped with directions. I loved the room and the kitchen to prepare meals. Centrally located for where I wanted to be and easily walkable to the oasis waterpark.

nice location with lots of shopping and restaurants near. Property needs more trees or coverage around pool area and breakfast area was always out of a lot of juices, pancakes, etc. Not a very good breakfast area

Breakfast late and tacos every day

Breakfast was NOT good. The juice machine was broken 3 mornings, the eggs were runny, the toaster onlu worked if you ran it twice, the pancakes were dry and tasted poorly. The pool didnt have towels 2 days out of the 3 we went. The pool was gross and had a bunch of stuff on the bottom of it. The hot tub didnt work 1 of the days. The "sofa bed" was a tiny twin bed. It didnt have extra blankets so we had to go ask for blankets and they didnt give us extra pillows that we asked for. We grabbed snacks and I stood there for 5 minutes until the agent would help me pay for my items. She knew i was there because she looked up when I sent my family off to the room. The laundry service was broken so we had to pay to use a laundromat. We will NOT be back.

We enjoyed that this property was quiet and low traffic with regard to it not being very busy. However, the continental breakfast, all three days we were there, was AWFUL. Not only was it not put out on time, the food was obviously used from previous days, only half of what was advertised was put out, the juice machine was broken, the pancake machine was broken, and the only thing safe to eat seemed to be the muffins. It was very disappointing and dirty. My daughter got sick after putting some sort of hot-sauce on her food that looked like no one has been washing the container and the sauce seems to just be put out constantly then refrigerated again. It was gross. Same with the milk.

Wish they had a better breakfast choice instead of the Same thing every day would be nice if they switched it up every now and then .other than that I loved it
