Hotel St. Lauren

The hotel was very nice , great view from the room, elevator and a balcony with an amazing view and it has loungers and tables and chairs!!!

Great hotel my only problem was that there is no functioning ice machine. All staff was nice and it’s nice to be away from the madness on the beach but still super close. Right next to Vons which was helpful

It was a very nice place to stay. It was clean and friendly. Wish the balcony on the 6th floor had good chairs to sit on. They were all broken. They did have lawn chairs but they were low to the ground.

Tried to enjoy the 6th floor balcony but got kicked off at 9 pm on a Saturday night because thats the time they close it for some dumb reason. The internet didn't work either for the entire stay.

Ice machine and water/soda vending machine broken on the 6th floor. We paid $2 and got nothing form the vending machine. No light in the walk in closet. The door in the bathroom and walk-in closet close automatically and can't be left open which is inconvenient. Noisy and very old A/C. Tiny travel blow drier. No fridge. Great balcony on the 6th floor.

Door key did not work every time we came back to our room. Staff had to reprogram our room key each time we went in. It made it inconvenient and frustrating as we were there for just one night and would have rather spent our time doing something fun. Hotel refused to hold our luggage after check out until our departure time which was only 4 hours later instead they made us roll the luggage across the island and pay a fee for each piece to pick up before boarding.

We have been wanting to stay here for a while now and finally did. VERY happy we did! Really clean inside, clean good-sized room and very friendly staff! The 6th floor deck was the best to hang out on at night!

BEWARE! The patio does not look like the pictures at all. Broken plastic outdoor furniture, no cushions, no plants, chipped red painted patio floor. Our window was also stuck open and we could not close it, an employee also tried and could not close it either. We did feel like the place was clean though and the staff was friendly.

Roof top patio has beautiful views of the harbor and surounding areas!

The main disappointments were that the WiFi didn’t work and there is no way to get drinking water on property (only tap water, no drinking fountain, and the vending machine didn’t work). It’s clean enough and comfort enough for a night or two.

Room was clean, well stocked and we loved the balcony! We watched the fireworks! Easy walk to the grocery store, shops and restaurants. Perfect!

This property was extremely filthy. The bathtub had mold all over in the drain and when I took a shower, the drain clogged and the fungus and mold, spit up through the pipes. The sink in the bathroom. Also spit up nasty dirt in the water. The sheets were clean however, you could tell it was a quick fix job to put them together on the bed I would not take your shoes off either. There is so much garbage on the ground and feels he might get fungus on your feet.

Property needs a huge upgrade. I had a balcony that I couldn’t use because the door didn’t open the door knob was lose and it looked so unsafe. The bathtub was horrible and rusty. Overall too pricey for what they offered for a smelly room.

I try not leave negative reviews but I feel compelled to share my birthday experience. Location was nice and hotel is charming on the outside and in the lobby. Unfortunately walls are very thin and noise travels. Woke up every hour between 11-6am with talking and laughing in the lobby or people walking up the stairs or down the hall. There was some hair left in the shower and the hair dryer smelled like it was about to catch on fire with a melted cord. No comforter and broken window panes. I’m sure some of the other rooms are nicer because I got ours on orbitz so it was probably one of the worse ones. The best part was the roof top deck but other than that I was very disappointed that what was supposed to be a restful getaway turned into a sleepless night.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Easy check in process, provided information about luggage storage since they do not store luggage after check out. The room was comfortable and clean, with a nice view. Very quiet at night, overall we had a pleasant stay.

I didnt like that the room was old and not clean enough. It could use some renovation and some sanitizing with air freshener

Took my Granddaughter for an overnight stay My room was spacious . Very clean. Had a partial view . Common ground balcony with an amazing view Staff went above and beyond. Hotel was also very quiet. I will definetly stay here again.

Our room was between the front door and the elevator. The staff talked about as loud as the guests through most of the night and beginning again in the early morning. The bathroom has long black hair on the floor, tub and basin. The ring was pretty bare bones and quite small. For the price we paid, we had higher expectations. When I complained to the front desk I was told, "I'll let my boss know." That was the last thing we heard from anyone at the hotel. The only positive I can take away from the experience is, are least it was only for one night.

Solid location. Easily walkable. Rooms are super basic but have everything you need. There was some construction going on across the street. But on the weekend wasn’t too noticeable. Was high season in Catalina so solid bang for buck here if you don’t mind more average room and amenities

The room we had was one of the only rooms that had a balcony. Fun watching the golf cart traffic going by and a nice view of the harbor. Air conditioning was great!

The only thing we did not like about our stay was the bed. It was incredibly hard and we got a very bad sleep.

Old building nice But no amenities ; no coffee machine , no frig , no micro , no privacy ; no carpet ; old vinayl floor . staff entered despite Privacy sign on door !. To make it worse , we were locked out of our room Twice because they kept changing the security cards . Wouldn’t repeat . Classless @ $500 a night !!!

Definitely over priced with no amenities other than coffee in the lobby (unfortunately we booked at the last minute).

Great hotel only 5 minutes walk from center, the hotel and rooms are a little dated, but staff were very friendly & helpful. The AC unit in the room was old and very noisy! We were trying to watch TV with the air on and had to turn the volume up, but then were called to turn down the loud TV (at 8p)!!!

Everything was wonderful! Room was nice and clean, front desk staff was very friendly and helpful! The only hiccup was that WIFI in the room was extremely slow.

Hotel staff got into my room and opened my luggage took my ring from my jewelry box! I’m a traveler and this is the 1st time happened to me. If hotel treat us like this how we trust anything?! I stayed in this hotel last year and liked it because location is middle of everything so we decided to book 2 separate rooms due to family member has sleep issue so we booked 2 rooms here. However after we checked in we went out to go to beach and while we were about their staff came to our room and opened my luggage and steal my ring, then she also went to my other room to took one of my mother’s earring and we still don’t understand why she took only 1 earring and left the other one still… anyways we went to see receptionist and reported everything but she is keep ignoring it and same time she was very nervous. Her name was Jessica and she advised wait until tomorrow to see the Manager guy… I also tried to return one of the room key because we are not feeling safe in this hotel by robbed their staffs so decided to stay in same room and cancel the other room but she didn’t accept it so we waited until next morning. Then we see this guy who is little better than other 2 ladies that I deal with, he has better custome service than those 2 rude ladies, fortunately he returned my ring that their staff stole from my luggage and he said they found it on the floor of lobby or something. I gave him one of the room key back and he promised that we can get our refund but this never happened even

Staff was very nice checking in was very quick checkout was smooth. I love my stay it was great.

Could never reach the hotel by phone or email (tried 30+ times). The hotel did not offer to hold our bags before we could check in or after we checked out. We had to go back to the port to pay to have our bags checked (time and money waist). Bed was SO uncomfortable. Paint chipping, stains in the bathroom, no amenities (e.g., lotion in the bathroom). Was told to go to the grocery store to get water. No recycling. Catalina seems to have a monopoly on everything so they can charge 5 star prices for 2 star accommodations. BUMMER!

Not bad at all! My friend and I only stayed one night and we were able to check in earlier than 3pm! unfortunately it’s so hard to get ahold of the front desk, I left a portable charger and tried to call multiple time to see if they happen to have a lost and found but never heard from them!

Unacceptable customer service

I got locked out of my room becuase my card didn’t work and I got locked out of the hotel at 2 in the morning and no staff were awake or near the doors and I couldn’t get hold of anyone

Highly recommend for a Catalina trip , staff is beyond nice and helpful ! Perfect location walkable to everything

First time staying at the St. Lauren. Clean room and centrally located near the market and shops/restaurants. The lounge on the 6th floor had amazing views. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The only dislike was that not all ice machines were working on all floors but definitely not a deal breaker.

This is a cute little property. Just note this hotel is on top of a hill. The address is also not correct on the GPS. You are looking for the pink building on top of the hill. Rooms are thin walls. But for a place to test your head at the end of a nice day it's not bad

Once construction began across the street at 8am we knew sleeping in was not to be.

Great location easy to walk to boardwalk. Our room was on 1st floor and could hear people checking in and out.

Staff was sweet and beyond helpful. Hotel sits about 3 blocks back from beach and up a slight hill. If you are out of shape it will give you a workout. Rooms are a decent size but smaller than chain hotels. Bring bottled water since there’s no drinkable tap water on the island. Light definitely comes in from under the door and you can hear other doors shutting throughout the night. Overall a great safe, clean and quiet hotel.

Adorable pink hotel not a far walk to shopping and the beach. When of the low cost hotels that was clean and comfortable. Free coffee and tea in the lobby. Would stay there again.

The hotel is close to the water and the location is good. I had an ocean view room and there is a deck on the top floor with lounge chairs and a great view. On the negative, the hotel is old and the rooms haven’t been updated. There’s also no restaurant at the hotel. It’s a quaint, old-school place. It was much cheaper than other hotels I researched and I don’t see why you would pay up for one of the others.

Coffee is served in the foyer every morning. No coffee convinces in room. Morning coffee was not ready at 7:30 am. I had to wait. Creamer pump was empty and grimmy. Ice machine was out of order. Bedroom floors were dirty. The location is nice if you dont mind the incline walking back to the hotel from main beach area. We thought this hotel was overpriced for the tiny accommodations. Definately an old apartment vibe.

It’s a 5 minute walk to everything. They offered coffee in the morning. And the supermarket is also a walking distance. The view from the 6th floor patio is great! If you’re just looking for place to get a good nights rest. This is perfect.

I believe it advised that breakfast was included when I booked for the hotel. Nothing was provided but coffee and tea. I would have been great if they have what they advertised.

Reached out prior to my stay to see if I could postpone and get a voucher. Were hesitant and said someone would call me back the following day but no call. I can accept no cancellation policy, but customer service goes a long way. Coffee only served in the lobby.
