Direct tv did not work but other than that room was fine. Didn't much like going up 3 flights of stairs.

✨ First trip to Catalina and I’m officially obsessed! The island is breathtaking — ocean views, charming streets, and the kindest people everywhere you go. 💙 I stayed at The Glenmore and it was such a vibe — cozy, historic, and full of character. The staff were beyond friendly and made me feel right at home. There’s no elevator (they offered me a first-floor room), but I chose the third floor for the view and it was totally worth it. 🌅 Highly recommend this spot if you’re planning a Catalina getaway. Can’t wait to come back! 🌺🏝️

We enjoyed the location. It was within walking distance to the beach/bay. The room had a view overlooking the street/main entrance. They offered a free light breakfast (bagel/muffin, coffee/juice). And there are restaurants within walking distance, with more complete menu of options, which we opted for. The staff were great. And the hotel is historical. Upon arrival you should know there is no elevator. So be prepared to hike the classic stairs if you're on the upper 3rd and 4th floors. If you want peace and quiet, it is a little noisy after sundown, if you're in a room facing the street. I suggest turning on the TV app YouTube for "sleep sounds". This helped while sleeping through the nights, drowning out the vehicles/noisy people out on the street below. The King bedroom with mini couch pullout was nice. It's perfect for 2 adults and a kid. It has a mini fridge and microwave.. but no coffee maker (coffee shops are just down the strip). The window blinds were problematic and needed careful finessing to open/close (a couple needed replacing). The telephone system was not working and the TV had no cable/satellite connection anymore. However we were able to watch some movies on some of the apps listed, once turned on (Tubi, Pluto). The bathroom shower was huge with an extra rainfall shower head.. however the knobs/use of them were mysterious (push, pull, turn, etc). All in all it was a good place to stay. I heard its better than the hotel across the street.

Good location, and better price than some of the hotels in the area in June. I like that there is a room for bags for when we are coming in and our room is not ready or for when we still have time after checkout before our boat arrives.

Staff very friendly and responsive. Hotel has interesting history and has excellent location. Fabulous jetted tubs in bathrooms. There is no elevator though so if you have a lot of loggage a room on a lower level might be best.

This property was great. So central to everything. We stayed in the Jack Kelly Suite on the 4th floor. The room was clean, the bed was big and comfortable and the dual sinks in the bathroom were nice. The only thing to know is there are no elevators in this hotel. The staff was great to help bring up our luggage but that hike up the stairs multiple times a day is not for the faint of heart. Would stay again for sure, just on a lower level.

This place was very good. Everything is close walking distance. They provided beach towels for us, which was really good. Also we were able to put our bags in a safe spot while we waited for our room and we could explore while we waited for our room. When our room was ready they called us and we were able to get in before the 3 o'clock hour.

A 4 stars experience in a 2 stars hotel. There was a spa tub in our standard room, lowest price! The room was beautiful and clean, with ice, fridge and all amenities needed. The location couldn't be any better, central and close to everything. The building is a gorgeous Victorian mansion remodeled into a boutique hotel on a quiet street (no bars or night clubs nearby.) This is by far the best budget hotel in Avalon, a rare gem that must be preserved! The only problem, which has nothing to do with this hotel, but is rather a growing problem in Avalon and the rest of Catalina Island is the severe lack of water, which is increasingly restricting hotels and businesses to function properly and provide the millions of tourists every year with the basics. The state of California is not providing sufficient amounts of clean water to the island and its population and awareness must be raised regarding this matter.

The hotel was nice and clean. There was no elevator in hotel so we had to climb 4 stories a few times.

I wanted to share what a wonderful time we had during our stay at Glenmore Plaza Hotel. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, and our room was both quiet and clean. The central location in downtown Avalon was perfect, allowing us to walk to everything within minutes. We truly enjoyed our visit.

The room was clean but it smelled like mildew, and there were visible mildew stains in the bathroom hardware, blinds, lamps, toilet.

The hotel is clean and the is extremely helpful, friendly and courteous. We would definitely stay here again.

No new sheets & towel on second day. Had to tell them for cleaning room and new towels.

The building is old, this is normal, but the carpets are so old that they make me feel unclean. I booked a room with certain specifications, and it was supposed to be ocean view , and I paid more than the rooms shown, but I got a room that I did not expect. I went and spoke to them, and they said they will change the room, I waited more than Three hours and they didn't do anything. It was a bad experience, but I learned from it. In addition to all this, there was a louse on the bed. I don’t recommend this hotel

No one ever claned the room, also shower didn't work. And toilet was... yikes.

Our stay was great. The location is very convenient. It is an old building and it could use some renovations. The sheets/bed comforter had marks on them, they smelled clean but seemed stained. There was also a lot of dust in the window.

The windows did not open and the a/c is a portable one that takes more space than it should. AC should be built in. The bathroom windows should open and close at will according to desire.

The location of the hotel is perfect! Just wish the room had a full length mirror. The bed was very comfortable.

Air conditioner was leaking water all 2 days we were there. Maintenance didn’t fix it.

The tv in the room didnt work. The ceiling fan didnt work either. There was a small a/c unit but it wasnt cooling the room sufficiently. Overall i liked the hotel. Its a very old hotel so has a lot of history.

Great location. Our window faced the street, good view, but loud. The locals hang out after a night at the local bar and yell and make a lot of noise up to 2am, each night. Other than that we had a great time. Room and bathrooms are larger than expected and newly remodeled. Easy walk to the beach, pier, and Catalina Express. Owners were very helpful when we asked for recommendations or directions.

The portable air conditioner was ridiculous for a room the costs 400.00 a night. The size of the room was just big enough to get a king size bed in. Your head is literally 3 feet from the door. Over all a poor hotel experience

Denise was absolutely amazing! Her customer service was right on point. My husband got food poisoning while we were staying on the Queen Mary but was still sick once we got to Catalina. Upon checking out of our hotel, the Glenmore, he was still not feeling well. Denise agreed to let us stay in the room until 3:30 pm, the time we had to get to the ferry to get back to Long Beach. The location of the hotel is perfect, right downtown, and the hosts are absolutely amazing, wonderful and so welcoming. We will absolutely come back and stay at this hotel, no hesitation. Thank you Denise and company 🌞

Excellent customer service. They allowed us to store our bags before we could check-in and then called us as soon as our room was ready. They let us use the lobby restroom even after check out as our little one wanted to keep playing in the sea. It’s super close to the beach and centric to the rest of the fun activities we had planned on the island. Would 100 percent recommend and will return when we take another trip to Catalina.

The Glenmore Plaza was amazing to stay at. Hailey at the front desk was extremely sweet and welcoming. I can’t wait to be back in the summer and I will be recommending the hotel to others.

The staff is great, the hotel is nice and the bed was super comfy. My room had a view of a ladder and roof and there was a lot of “industrial” noise all night so I wore earbuds. Its right in the heart of things and very walkable.

We went for the July 4 holiday. Very fun. Hotel is a short walk to anywhere! It’s very quiet. Bed was comfy… though I reserved a queen bed and our room had a double bed. That was the only downside.

Old historic spot with its presence in Avalon since 1891. it is an old Victorian building but rooms are upgraded and clean. Location is excellent with its close proximity to most Avalon attractions.

This was a wonderful place. It was quiet, the people were so very friendly and helpful. It's in the middle of everything and you can walk everywhere. It's a short walk from the dock. Everything in the room was clean and worked well. There was coffee in the rooms and muffins and water available daily. We had a large bed and a sofa bed, both of which we used. We are thinking of making an annual trip to Catalina and stay at this hotel!

Great location, but the breakfast was poor and the key didn't work on our room so we had to get the front desk to open the door each time.

We chose this hotel because it said "breakfast included". Well, there was no breakfast. Just all guests walking around looking for it. No sign why there is no breakfast, no explanation, no refund were offered. A gentlemen at reception said " I don't know what happened" We paid $244 for the night (vs $140 for a hotel that was available with no breakfast) because we didn't want to go out to eat in the morning. We ended up going out a ways, and spending another $60 to get a breakfast at the restaurant. My friend from another country that I brought to Catalina for a weekend had her eyebrows high in the sky. That's quite unlikely we'll ever stay at this place again. To be fair, the room was nice and clean, but you would expect that for the price.

The Hotel Desk Clerk was attentive informative and professional. Check in and check out were pleasant. The Woman in the breakfast area behind the bar saw me trying to toast a bagel, instead of assisting me she took someone elses bagel and got in front of me and proceeded to toast theirs. I threw my bagel in the trash and left feeling discriminated.

Beautiful family owned and run hotel, I believe the oldest still going in Avalon. Great service. Coffee in the lobby. Lots of restoration work has been done. Everything was clean. The trash trucks from the Town of Avalon were a bit noisy for Sunday morning; wish they would keep that for a wee bit later in the day! Alas, the town was hopping the night prior, so that makes sense they need to get rid of the trash, sigh.

The Expedia agent when questioned said that the hotel had breakfast and an elevator, neither of which was true.

Lot of stairs. LOTS OF STAIRS…. Overall nice hotel, very clean. Continental breakfast was crappy. The dining area was very nice and clean but all they served for two days were bagels,cream cheese but no jellies. Some fruit, OJ, coffee, muffins, bottled water. Expensive hotel and they can’t have descent breakfast.
