The bed was comfortable. Location. Easy to get to Downtown Solvang. I’m a movie person, parts of the film sideways was filmed there. Nice pool. Jacuzzi was very small. It was open to 10pm which was very nice.

I have been visiting Solvang and surrounding are for over 15 years. Now I have children and was super happy with the amenities at Sideways, which worked for all. Quiet hours are from 10-10. There is a bar/lounge on site with indoor and outdoor seating, open til 10. They also have a semipermanent trailer that they sell sausage and other smoked meats out of during afternoon hours. The pool was a huge it with my kids, they made friends every morning while swimming. Sideways also has access to the RV park right behind it. This park is nice with its own pool. So there is lots of area to walk around and kids to ride bikes. There is no adult breakfast, but they bring in fresh donuts each morning, which were a hit with my kids and the coffee was great. We used the tesla charger on site, there are 4. The chargers are level 2, so a slower charge. It was $0.45 kWh. Beds were comfortable, shower was clean and had good pressure. There were both a microwave and a good sized fridge in the room as well. We had a fantastic time!

Beautiful rooms and excellent service. I also love the lounge next door and that you have access to the amenities in the campground next door. There are also several great restaurants within walking distance.

Hotel is perfect if you’re traveling with children and don’t have a fancy RV to camp but still want to get the camping vibe. It’s in a great location. Fireplaces all over where you can sit and make some s'more's. They have coffee all day. It’s located next to flying flags resort which makes it perfect because you’re allowed to use the amenities which include two large pools. All you have to do is obtain a wristband. They sell alcohol and have delicious pizza you can buy. In the morning they drop you off a simple breakfast at your door which includes a donut, fruit, and a juice. We’re looking forward to coming back.

I’d recommend the property inspect and treat the room to avoid this happening to future guests. Other than that, the hotel is newer, with a nice seating area and firepit. Rooms clean and updated. Bathroom was updated, clean & had all needed toiletries. Property looked refreshed and decorated with string lights & fire pit with benches giving a modern vibe. Bed had a big stain on the footside. Located close to the freeway & very noisy & was challenging to fall asleep. No elevator, only stairs. Had kids and elderly in our group and getting them safe up and down lugging the luggage’s was a challenge in the rain. Breakfast was very limited to choose from and was dropped off at the door. For the price we paid and the noisy location and lack of elevators, we felt it wasn’t a good value for money.

Our stay at this place was excellent. From checking to checkout, the personnel were courteous and helpful. The room was spacious comfortable and most importantly very clean. I will definitely recommend to all of my friends and family.

I have stayed in this hotel and only had good experiences. When I booked through Expedia (the person at the desk said that was who I booked though!) I did get a pretty good rate but the room was not as nice as the others I have stayed in. Upstairs has no balcony and just seems run-down. The downstairs rooms seem much better and I was told they were all full (even though I booked way in advance) so I probably won’t be going back just because it wasn’t as clean and nice as I remembered.

Was pretty good, but Wi-Fi sketchy. Could not connect Roku. Bed was comfortable, was quiet, close to Solvang. Shower is a water saver, thin small spray.

Nicely renovated motel. Would return if in area again. Check in and out was a breeze. Friendly staff. ROOM: • Adequately sized for 2 adults and 1 dog. • Clean and tidy thought looks a little worn down in some areas (bathroom). • Barnyard sliding door for bathroom not desirable — no privacy! :( • Keurig, mini fridge, and microwave. 👍 • A/C unit needs to be replaced eventually, did not work half the time but we visited during winter so it was not a big deal. • We requested and were accommodated a room away from the pool that was facing the back parking lot. Day time was active w/ the campers at the RV sister property, but we did not mind, as it quieted down by evening. PARKING/LOCATION: • Plentiful. Easy to get in and out. • Location is not exactly pretty (next to freeway/gas station) but convenient. • Downtown Solvang is a 2 min drive. Chumash casino about 15 min. • We returned to our room around midnight and it was dead quiet even the hotel had a lot of occupants. • Dog relief area clean and conveniently located in the back parking lot area. LOUNGE/BAR: • Attentive, polite staff. • Good, strong drinks. • Nice decor, cozy size. • Crowd was middle aged 40 with what appeared to be some locals (good sign). Maybe younger crowds on the weekends. • Closes a little early at 10pm. Would have liked to have some drinks before turning in but no biggie we drank at the casino.

The front desk check-in went smoothly and the lobby is set up nicely with items for sale, a coffee station, and seating area. The hotel is kept up nicely although it feels a bit more roadside and less glamorous than the pictures. That said, the room was clean and the only complaint is the bed was hard. All in all I'd stay here again.

Great room but not sound proof, get a 2nd floor room if you can (although they charge more for this). All staff are super friendly. Lounge is comfortable and great for having something other than wine! I had to switch between heat and fan all night to deaden the noises outside and above me so if you are noise sensitive, make sure to get a 2nd floor room and not facing the parking lot (construction workers hang by their vehicles at night, get up early, and have loud trucks!). I will stay again because the room is super comfy.

Bed was OK, Amana Heaters (from 1968) were loud, no dresser. No vanity or shelf space in bathroom. Hanger clothes can reach the floor...I think you get it.

Excellent experience on every aspect of our stay. Spacious rooms, practical amenities ( microwave, fridge, etc) , furnished balcony, large bathroom with eco friendly toiletries, very comfortable bed, plenty easy parking on premises. Nothing but praise for everybody at this hotel for professionalism, friendliness and for showing what hospitality should look like. Highly recommend this place for everything it offers.

Terrible first day (loud construction outside our room, no upgrade offered and ran out of donuts in the morning). Much better when I talked with manager, Jake. We were moved to a much quieter room and had donuts in the morning.

It was a very busy weekend with lots of CHP in the hotel due to President Biden being in the area. Front desk clerks were noticeably frazzled or incompetent. Not friendly at all. Don’t know if that is par for the course in wine country but they seem to have a captive market.

Not a pleasant experience. Electronic lock battery ran out on door and we could not reenter the room. It was 10 pm and air temperature had dropped. We waited 1.5 hours outside the room. Service people who fixed the lock were kind and helpful. However, no attempt was made by establishment to apologize for our inconvenience. We did not ask for a discount or any other accommodation, however seems like a basic politeness to extend this. The room itself would be ok for a low budget motel, not exceptionally clean or well appointed. Stark and sterile, a bit lifeless frankly.

The service was outstanding, the check in person was very friendly and explained everything to me. The room was great, the bed was a little soft for my liking but I still slept great. We were right next to the pool and it was loud but right at 10pm, the pool closed and the kids had to stop which was nice. The donuts in the morning were great and a nice touch. All in all, will be back again.

Excellent experience on every aspect of our stay. Spacious rooms, practical amenities ( microwave, fridge, etc) , furnished balcony, large bathroom with eco friendly toiletries, very comfortable bed, plenty easy parking on premises. Nothing but praise for everybody at this hotel for professionalism, friendliness and for showing what hospitality should look like. Highly recommend this place for everything it offers.

Great location in Buellton, minutes from wine country and Los Olivos. Property is dog friendly and is connected to the RV Park behind the hotel. Nice Pool in the center of the hotel property and they offer fresh donuts in the morning with your coffee in the lobby. Overall a great getaway hotel.

I had a fantastic stay at Sideways Inn! The location was incredibly convenient—right off the freeway and just a short drive to Los Olivos. The inn was peaceful, quiet, and perfect for relaxing. Everything was spotless, and the staff were genuinely kind and helpful. I’ll definitely be returning the next time I’m in the area. Highly recommend!

It's a fun hideaway, I didn't like the location (behind gas station subject to heavy traffic) but it was comfortable place for a weekend. I didn't have a chance to visit the grill or bar...maybe next time. The front desk staff were helpful and friendly. Nice visit.

The room was spacious and clean. Also the bed was comfortable and the check-in was easy, altough it was already 10pm. Unfortunately, we we‘re really disappointed by the so called breakfast, which only consists of donuts and coffee.

Nice location, very quiet and check in was easy. King room facing pool very nice. Used pool and jacuzzi was very easy and comfortable. Nights had fire pits on and market lights around. The only thing we didn’t like was breakfast options. Donut, oatmeal or a roll similar to a dinner roll . Donuts everyday is too much as we arent oatmeal people . Better off if they had muffins or sweet rolls instead or a breakfast room. Nice that they had coffee in lobby. Would recommend! And has a Ev charging station!

This property was ideal for a quick two night stay. The room was clean and outfitted appropriately . The area has nice areas for sitting, a pool and a nice lounge and food trailer on-site. Two observation are no breakfast capability and minimal dinner options other than sausage and appetizers. I would stay here again if I did not need or want to spend time in Solvang..

Great location to be with anyone RVing at Flying Flags, close to Solvang. We chose this spot only on the location to be near our family that were in the RV park. The properties are attached. We drove to Jalama Beach twice. Staff got us in early, which was appreciated. The room key stopped working twice which was a hassle, luckily the desk is open 24/7. The daily breakfast delivery wasn’t great, but there were many restaurants nearby. They don’t daily clean so you’ll need to ask for extra towels and coffee.

Breakfast service was ONLY continental, and orders delivered were incorrect. Online ordering system didn't work. Bathroom sliding door derailed trapping me inside bathroom. Charged resort extra charges upon arrival despite paying full in advance on Expedia.

Conveniently located near the 101, but insulated enough that you don't hear the traffic. The Sideways Lounge is a clean, hip setting for a drink, but it was disappointing that the kitchen (sausage truck) was closed for the majority of our stay. The provided doughnuts were tasty, but danishes would be more on point considering the proximity to Solvang.

This place was a wonderful weekend getaway. The rooms were large and well kept. It looked like they were recently rehabilitated and come to find out it was over 10 years ago. The lounge staff were great too, especially Mario, our bartender made the evening full of laughter and great service. We look forward to returning again soon.

It was just ok. The bed is very hard but we still slept ok. Ground floor room was alright but it didnt have a good closet or tv reception, with image buffering on every channel every few minutes. Very annoying. Moreover, they wont clean your room each day so at the end of our four days, it was getting pretty gross. You have to get your own fresh towels from reception yet there is still an in-room tip option. Unbelievable.

Sideways Inn is a very unique property. The Lobby, Fitness Center, Lounge, pool, fire pits were all well proportioned and convenient. Us dog lovers really appreciated the water bowl and bowl full of treats for our fur babies, and I didn’t even bring my dog:-) An added plus was having Flying Flags walking distance for us to visit our friends and eat at the Pizza Restaurant.
