Rooms felt outdated. Dirty windows. Bathrooms fan was like a jet engine and automatic so you could not turn it off. The walls was so thin I could here every word of the women next door having a teams meeting 5am but worst of all the pool was closed for renovation and they did not inform us before arrival and not during check in. With two kids and temperature in the mid 80’s. We have planed to stay 4 nights but we got an ok to shorten our stay to two nights but during check out the have suddenly changed their mind and could not find any documentation of such a agreement so I had to spend 20 minutes arguing to get my rights

Unfortunately, we were informed that the pool and hot tub were not functioning and unavailable for our stay. We came for a wedding a day earlier, hoping to relax at the pool and have lunch, which we discovered wasn't served by the restaurant at all. Bummer!

Great location across from the beach. The grounds are nicely done. we used the pool and fitness center and both were well kept. Room was spacious, we had a 3rd floor pool view.

The property is so fun. They have a spa, heated pool, table tennis, cornhole and more. They have a restaurant as well. They have a small but very good snack place. They should add redbull to it though. Their coffee area is so yummy and I found myself sitting in the lobby have 2 cups every morning while I waited for my family to wake up. My favorite part about this property is the staff. Oh I loved the staff. By the time I left I really thought they were all my friends and family. The beach is right across the street. But just to observe. You will have to take a generous stroll or jump in the car to get to the place where you would spend the day. Easy to get to down town Carlsbad. We spent the day at Del Mar (total should), an hour or so at Oceanside and the rest enjoying the little town of Carlsbad. But they staff really made the property. Jay was amazing and my new bestie (can’t remember her name, but she’s got braids works the later shift and is faaaab). I’m a horrible new best friend. Anyways, stay here. So central but amazing.

It was very disappointing that the pool was cold and jacuzzi not working. Felt like this should be a higher priority for guests. May influence future choices. Nice rooms although price seemed high.

The hotel and location are great. Staff is friendly and attentive. The hot tub was "out of service" for the entire stay. I always book a place has one, so that was disappointing.

A wonderful location with basically a private beach in front (walk across road) and lots of fun things nearby (Legoland, museums, and The Flower Fields). Jacuzzi was a great temperature which is the main reason my wife picks a hotel. Uniquely they have fun games available for free to play (ping pong, corn hole, darts, etc.). Service was top notch and friendly. I loved their buffet breakfast though my wife was disappointed in their continental breakfast not having the berries and greek yogurt as advertised (only Yoplait and Mellons).

The Hotel is located on the coast steps from a coastal walk. The outdoor amenities were also really nice. We had great weather so we were outside most of the time. The room was clean but the air conditioner was a problem and the TV controller was a nightmare. I also had a massive problem with the fitness center. For a large hotel it was tiny! With 5 people in it at one time it was near to impossible for us to all work out undisturbed. There was not enough machines or space.

I wanted to first start off with there was still hair in my shower from the previous people. There was no conditioner on my first night staying there so I had to call customer service to bring conditioner .My coffee machine did not work and had to be replaced. My refrigerator stopped working throughout the night. and I had an ocean view hotel room in which I was unable to open my window because it was broken and had a safety lock on it. It was very unfortunate. All my neighbors had their windows open, and I wanted to do so as well. Then to top it all off before I could even check out the maid threw away. All of my clothes, stole my child’s food that was packaged up, sealed, as well as his juices as well as my waters as. But it’s not like she threw these things away. It was an hour before check out. She decided to clean out my fridge and take what she thought could be hers put it in a personal bag and when I confronted her and asked her if that was her personal bag she admitted to saying yes, so protocol is already broken there I will not be staying there again

Close to the beach and Legoland. Shower heads and water pressure were poor. Flat pillows and found a pill on the ground. It was ibuprofen but I have kids. I’m not sure how it was missed by vacuuming or sweeping.

My stay here at this hotel was a 2 night stay from September 22nd and the 23rd 2023. I stayed on the 3rd floor and drove home on the 24th. My ankle started to itch and I noticed that I had bites going up my leg to the bottom of my calf. I called and spoke to the manager and he told me that he would call me back a couple of days later to let me know what he found. I called him back because I didn’t hear from him and he then told me that his Ecolab tech, tore apart the room and found nothing. Then he tells me he’s sorry but we don’t have bed bugs in that room and the Ecolab tech said the bites were to small to be bed bugs. When I got home I met with my big guy and showed him my leg and he told me, yes, that’s bed bugs.I didn’t stay anywhere else except for that hotel so, I will not be staying there ever again and neither should you! If you stay there, good luck and hope you don’t get bit like I did.

Overall, it was not bad. For the price, I was very disappointed when we found a syringe with a needle in our room. The hotel staff was very nice and responsive. I am a little disappointed with the free parking compensation after finding the syringe with the needle in our room. Hopefully, they do a better job in the future cleaning and checking the room.

Property is nice. The pool was great and heated for the perfect night swim. Our room was not clean when we entered the room. There was dried vomit in the toilet and hair and makeup throughout the room. We asked for them to clean it and someone just cleaned the floor. The staff offered for us to go downstairs and eat (complimentary) while they cleaned the room but charged us when we left for the dining fee. There was not a safe in any room in the facility, which was odd to us because the Hiltons we have stayed at always has safes in their hotel rooms for valuables. The staff was always very nice, from the front desk to the grounds keepers. We were always greeted throughout the hotel. The bar had a live band and tasty drinks. There is nothing really “walking distance” to do. Everything required transportation when leaving the grounds. Unsure due to the fee and cleanliness of our room if we would stay again, but other than that it was a nice stay.

I would not recommend staying here if the hotel cannot honor an upper level room for you. The walls are paper, thin, and you can hear every single step of the people above you. It was a horrible stay for us as a family of five, the people above us, despite having requested an other room, let their children run around the room and jump off the bed until midnight at night and starting at 6 AM. It was unbearable.

The property was updated and have a nice ocean view. The things I did not like about the room I stayed at was due to the access door to the room next to us, which did not lock properly. There was no AC and have to rely on a portable AC unit. The bathroom fan does not work at all.

Across street from beach. Renovated rooms. Beds and pillows very uncomfortable. I’d love to stay here again , but dang, they need new beds. It’s going to take me a few days and a chiropractor to recover from the mattress.

The hotel overall was clean and comfortable however we were on the first floor and due to having laminate floor in the guest rooms as opposed to carpet we could hear a lot of noise from people walking on the floor above us

The hotel is across the street from the beach, which was gr8. I asked for an ocean view, i was in a room on the 1st floor towards the ocean, could not really see it and the window you can barely see out of. The property is alittle run down. Needs a face lift. There is no room safe, no rack for luggage. Check in was at 3pm, we arrived at 3 and they said room was not ready, 40 min later...as we waited. The male at check was very nice , the female i spke to a couple of times not so friendly.

We had paid an "up-charge" to have a room with an ocean view but when we arrived they assigned us to a room that was on the first floor and all that we could see was the hedge that surrounded the property. When we contacted the front desk after going to our room, they said that it was a "partial ocean view" and that nothing else was available. We were told that they would check to see if another room became available the following day and let us know. We had unpacked and changed into our night clothes when the front desk called to say that there was a room upstairs with a better view. We had to pack our things and get dressed to make the room change. It would have been much better if the hotel honored their agreement to reserve an ocean view room for us, and then when we brought it to their attention they should have found another room immediately.

Our room was not cleaned. We told staff twice and it still wasn’t done. We contacted staff again at 5.30pm to be told housekeeping had gone home and all they cd do was give us some new towels and send someone to make the bed. There was no ownership of the oversight. The communal areas are a bit shabby.

What a great discovery this was!! Super close to the beach and access to the highway but far enough to not hear a beep. The place is impeccable, the restaurant is really good and the best part was the staff which were always helpful, great attitude and hospitality! We stayed there 1 week and it was perfect!

The location was great. The restaurant was awesome with very nice staff. The ocean is right across the street which makes it great for a morning walking. My only negative experience was when I got there they didn’t have the ocean view room which I’ve reserved and paid for. At first, the person gave me some random explanation (I am suspecting they overbooked it). Eventually the manager, reached out to me and he refunded me for the difference and gave me free breakfast pass and free parking. Although, this was very a small issue, and I was satisfied how the manager handled it, I just feel getting the ocean view would have been the cherry on the ice cream (first world problem). But that aside, the hotel was great and the swimming pool was very nice

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hilton Garden Inn mainly because of the staff as Andrew (from reception) was a delight- very accommodating and welcoming. We also enjoyed the breakfast and the lovely waitress who helped us. The hotel is across the street from the beach and Carlsbad village is a 3mile walk if you don’t want to deal with parking issues. The room was very spacious and overlooked the pool and courtyard. We had a very nice stay.

The property is so fun. They have a spa, heated pool, table tennis, cornhole and more. They have a restaurant as well. They have a small but very good snack place. They should add redbull to it though. Their coffee area is so yummy and I found myself sitting in the lobby have 2 cups every morning while I waited for my family to wake up. My favorite part about this property is the staff. Oh I loved the staff. By the time I left I really thought they were all my friends and family. The beach is right across the street. But just to observe. You will have to take a generous stroll or jump in the car to get to the place where you would spend the day. Easy to get to down town Carlsbad. We spent the day at Del Mar (total should), an hour or so at Oceanside and the rest enjoying the little town of Carlsbad. But they staff really made the property. Jay was amazing and my new bestie (can’t remember her name, but she’s got braids works the later shift and is faaaab). I’m a horrible new best friend. Anyways, stay here. So central but amazing.

I arrived at 3 to check in. Front desk told me my room would be ready in 15 minutes and that they would text me. I waited for an hour and a half only to come back to a full lobby and the gentleman who checked me in recognized me but didn’t acknowledge the issue. I waited in line and was given breakfast vouchers and upon giving the vouchers to the waitress was charged full price for our meals.

The hotel is amazing but the customer service at the front desk horrible! The restaurant was good but the front desk would stare at you till you talked first. The manager and staff never smile and talk crap about guests checking in asking for early accommodations. Luckily the location and hotel is amazing. The food was really good and affordable in the restaurant. I would get rid of all the front desk staff and start over with customer service training.

The following days of conversation with you and the other employee working with you made the stay and experience fun and a would come back. The restaurant at the location made the mornings or end of the day an easy choice to grab food and a drink and chill by the pool and courtyard.

Was a great hotel to stay located across the street from the ocean. Weather turned out to be beautiful. Spent two nights at this Hilton on a week long trip to San Diego for our Anniversary. Would come back to Carlsbad to visit. Downtown district is great for food, shopping and entertainment.

The property is clean and very close to the beach. The staff was hugely helpful when we had to leave early because our dog was ill. Nice outside areas for relaxing and a casual restaurant with good food and reasonable prices. We will happily stay there again.

Location, although not in walking distance to any stores, was convient to the freeway and a few minute drive to anything you needed. And directly across the street from the ocean, a fantastic place to walk along the water and catch nightly sunsets. The staff was friendly and helpful. Food at the restaruant was good. Pool area was nice, gym could be better. Rooms were nice but I would get an interior room facing the courtyard/pool area next time and not the parking lot or train tracks. Overall a good stay and I would stay again while in this area.

Nice hotel with lovely outdoor sitting area. Our room was spacious and well-appointed. Two things to be aware of: there is a $22 per night parking charge and yes, you need a car. The hotel is across from the beach but on very, high eroded cliffs so you can't actually get there. There is beach access about 1/2 mile down the road with limited parking.

Unfortunately, we were informed that the pool and hot tub were not functioning and unavailable for our stay. We came for a wedding a day earlier, hoping to relax at the pool and have lunch, which we discovered wasn't served by the restaurant at all. Bummer!

A wonderful location with basically a private beach in front (walk across road) and lots of fun things nearby (Legoland, museums, and The Flower Fields). Jacuzzi was a great temperature which is the main reason my wife picks a hotel. Uniquely they have fun games available for free to play (ping pong, corn hole, darts, etc.). Service was top notch and friendly. I loved their buffet breakfast though my wife was disappointed in their continental breakfast not having the berries and greek yogurt as advertised (only Yoplait and Mellons).

Cleanliness: Overall the hotel and room were clean however the pool needed some attention and had many bugs and debris in it, which was disappointing when we came specifically to hang by the pool. It also get quite busy on Saturday. The service: Front desk staff was great. We asked for the third floor room w/ sliding door for best view and airflow thru room and was granted an upgrade immediately as well as given early access to the room. Service in the bar and restaurant was not very good. Craig is a real bummer behind the bar, and acted like we were bothering him to order drinks. The second night we enjoyed the live music on the patio but had to get up to get any help and the waitress never returned after our drinks and food arrived. -FYI- They DO NOT have room service, although listing claims otherwise. You must order in person at the restaurant and take it to your room. Food and drinks were good however. Location was great quick drive/uber to anything you need and walk across the street to the beach. *Extra note: They do have free on-site electric car charging station on the back side of the hotel. Update the hotel listing to reflect this. Overall I would stay here again.

The beds were hard. There was no working lock on the bathroom door. We ate at the Coast restaurant and the salmon was so bad we got sick. The pizza and kids’ food were good. Their bar made amazing cocktails. The staff made good suggestions on where we should go. My poor rating for this hotel is because for the price we paid (equivalent to Shutters on the Beach), we were expecting a certain level of comfort (bed and sheets) and dining experience. We opted not to eat their breakfast buffet as dinner the night before was not great food quality.

Nice clean hotel, unfortunately breakfast is poor and bar only open 4pm-9pm every day. Nothing much near the hotel so would advise to hire a car.
Nice clean hotel, unfortunately breakfast is poor and bar only open 4pm-9pm every day. Nothing much near the hotel so would advise to hire a car.

The stay was really nice with great views and location. They offered a FREE shuttle to and from a little (kind of) private but still public section of the South Ponto Beach. The pool was really nice and so was the hot tub!The only thing we didn't like was the $46 (basic) breakfast that's NOT included but was still not bad considering it was California prices. Overall great stay for the price and great location by the beach (walking distance)

This is a cute little hotel by the ocean. Although we were only there for 2 nights, our stay was jam packed at Legoland. Had we more time, we would have taken advantage of nearby beach access and enjoyed the ocean even more. Our room was cute, a few spots in the bathroom needed more cleaning attention and there are signs of an aging hotel. The carpets in the halls are understandably dirty from foot traffic, but quite noticeable if you’re looking down. Beds were comfortable, however we could hear the neighbor snore and the upstairs guests jumping around, which means they probably heard our loud conversations, haha. Reasonable price for ocean views and overall nice place.

The hotel is well located across from the ocean which we would walk along every morning. Our room was very clean and attractive. Bed comfortable. Refrigerator and microwave. Could use two chairs instead of one. Nice view of the garden and pool area. Chairs outside by fire place area too large and uncomfortable for 5 for 3 inch self. Attractive looking lobby with a pleasant "Coast " restaurant. No free breakfast but several breakfast choices or a small buffet. Main issue was only one elevator at each side toward back of building. Awkward to get into building and walk to room. Need to add a lobby elevator. Must pay $20 for parking and use card to access in and out of parking lot.
