Diamond Hotel is a great property. There are not many worthwhile hotels in Chico. This was probably the nicest. Good centralized location. Great steakhouse about a block away. Several boutique-type shopping stores are just around the corner. Multiple bars and restaurants are within walking distance. The hotel is quiet and clean, offering massages and a steakhouse on the premises, although we did not use either one. We will stay here next time we come through Chico.

The parking garage was right next to the hotel. There was easy access and it was well lit and clean. Parking was free for hotel guests, so totally a win!

We hit the bonanza in finding this hotel on a road trip home. Two other layover towns were a bust for hotel and steak house. Driving father north, we looked into Chico. We have never been to Chico but were looking for a nice steak house and hotel. We found the perfect restaurant with this gem (Diamond) of a hotel to stay that was only two blocks from the restaurant. Free parking and free breakfast were added perks. The hotel was very clean, classy and comfortable. It felt and looked like a vintage, antique hotel but with all the modern amenities. Crazy enough, we would divert from I-5 next time just to stay here. It's great to know that we now have a destination hotel when traveling between Oregon and southern California. We had a lovely dinner, then walk back to hotel for a night cap at the bar. A perfect evening.

The Hotel Diamond was very beautiful and luxurious. Our room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The staff was super friendly and the free breakfast was a custom-made omlette with potatoes, fruit, and all the coffee and juice you care to drink. We loved being downtown within walking distance to all the great shops and restaurants. The free parking in the adjacent parking garage was an unexpected plus.

Our stay was excellent, the staff is friendly and the lounge downstairs food is great! The breakfast is grab and go, I wish there were more options for other than bagels and muffins. The location is central and if you are visiting for the holidays the decorations are beautiful, and Santa came to visit, for the Children I left my AirPods in the room and the staff mailed them to my house.

This grand old hotel has been completely refurbished and very well done indeed. The staff were always helpful and friendly. The room was impeccably clean. The location is perfect in the heart of downtown Chico. The only negative was the TV did not work properly. It was supposed to have the common streaming channels (e.g., Netflix) but even a staff person could only get network stations.

The Hotel Diamond was a great place to spend a couple nights. Staff at the front desk was courteous, the room was clean and comfortable, and the location can’t be beat. My only caveat is that a Saturday event hosted in the restaurant downstairs had loud bass and talking from around 8-11 pm (event ended at 10 pm) and the front desk didn’t have earplugs on hand. Friday night was very quiet, so weeknights are likely to be safer for early sleepers.

The hotel is wonderful. Clean, friendly staff, nice rooms, wonderful free omelette breakfast, very close to Chico State which was our reason for staying. It’s about a 3-5 minute walk to the college. Unfortunately there was one deal breaker-the bed was hard as a rock. I wish I could say I’ll stay here again, but I’ve already booked somewhere else for our next visit. Foam mattress toppers would probably make a huge difference. When I mentioned it to the front desk ladies, they were very empathetic and mentioned that the hard mattresses were brand new ones. And that the older mattresses might be more comfortable next time. (The ones where the springs were able to be felt on the surface of the mattress, they said) No thanks. I would LOVE to stay here again if they had better mattresses. My body is still recovering from the 2 nights I stayed! If you like hard mattresses, you will love this hotel. It really is perfect otherwise!

I had to request a change for my room. I was given a room on the 4th floor looking toward the garage. The a/c units were so noisy all night long even though I had earplugs. Definitely would request a room on a lower floor on the other side of the building where it is so much quieter! Breakfast included was ok. Nothing special. Liked the victorian decor and vintage photos in the halls.

It's a very stylish hotel with great facilities and excellent services of room and bar areas! Lovely decorated room. The only complaint is we were staying for a Friday night and there were some crazy noises on the main street at a very late time, like crazy people shouting and police whistles. Don't know what's going on.

The staff here are amazingly nice and accommodating. I asked for a different pillow, they brought me one. I asked to borrow a phone charger they had every kind. Both the lady at the front desk ( Madison?) and the lady at the restaurant ( server ) were extremely kind and welcoming. Five starts for this staff.

Staff at check-in & check-out were so friendly & helpful. The female staff member at check-in recommended a great restaurant, 5th street steakhouse! The male staff that checked us out (sorry not to get names) was quite personable & provided information on the history of the area. The breakfast was delicious both the fresh bread, & the omelette was made to order! Great place to stay!

The location was great! The building was cool, albeit a little old. The staff person on Wednesday night was awesome. The staff person in the morning had an attitude of “what do you want? I’ve got work to do.” Not good. When I was waiting in their tiny lobby she started dusting the stairs and pictures on the walls which sent dust everywhere and I have asthma. I’m used to more consideration at a nice hotel.

It's a very stylish hotel with great facilities and excellent services of room and bar areas! Lovely decorated room. The only complaint is we were staying for a Friday night and there were some crazy noises on the main street at a very late time, like crazy people shouting and police whistles. Don't know what's going on.

Beautiful hotel. Well kept while being reminiscent of the past. We will be staying again. Only thing that could use improvement is the continental breakfast.

Staff at check-in & check-out were so friendly & helpful. The female staff member at check-in recommended a great restaurant, 5th street steakhouse! The male staff that checked us out (sorry not to get names) was quite personable & provided information on the history of the area. The breakfast was delicious both the fresh bread, & the omelette was made to order! Great place to stay!

The Hotel Diamond was very beautiful and luxurious. Our room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The staff was super friendly and the free breakfast was a custom-made omlette with potatoes, fruit, and all the coffee and juice you care to drink. We loved being downtown within walking distance to all the great shops and restaurants. The free parking in the adjacent parking garage was an unexpected plus.

We LOVE this hotel! Historic, great location, nice size rooms, We like the restaurant, The Grill, and like that it’s inside the hotel. The staff are so kind and helpful. Thank you for a great visit!

This hotel hit all the marks for us- great location, walkable to restaurants and parks, free parking, clean, comfortable, beautiful building, great restaurant (the Grill) and friendly staff. I would enthusiastically return on my next visit to Chico.

Wonderful historic hotel with convenient upgrades that retain the character of the property. Fabulous location and excellent breakfasts served in dining room - included in room price. Only place we will ever stay again in Chico.

Our stay was excellent, the staff is friendly and the lounge downstairs food is great! The breakfast is grab and go, I wish there were more options for other than bagels and muffins. The location is central and if you are visiting for the holidays the decorations are beautiful, and Santa came to visit, for the Children I left my AirPods in the room and the staff mailed them to my house.

Our stay was excellent, the staff is friendly and the lounge downstairs food is great! The breakfast is grab and go, I wish there were more options for other than bagels and muffins. Nice place walking distance to the venue I was in town for and lots of restaurants. Nothing crazy fancy but wasn't lacking anything I would ever need. Will stay again when visiting downtown Chico.

Hotel Diamond is a very nice place to stay and in a very convenient location. The elevated door can be problematic at times. Hopefully, they get that fixed.

Amazing! I stayed at Hotel Diamond when I was working in Chico. It was the best part of my trip. The shower has good water pressure, I have thick hair so good water pressure is a must. Great service, clean, well appointed room. The restaurant at the hotel, The Grill, is the best place I’ve eaten in a long time. Fresh ingredients and cooked perfectly. I have a black pepper allergy and they were able to accommodate me no problem. The food was beyond good and the dessert made me swoon. My entire stay was lovely. I can’t wait to go back.

Hotel Diamond Chico is a beautifully restored historic hotel with large room, comfortable beds, and a fabulous continental breakfast. We stayed there 2 nights, from June 24-26, while in town for our son’s orientation at Chico State. The hotel is within close walking distance to campus, restaurants, farmer’s market, and banks. We reserved a two queen premium room and were assigned 219. The room was lovely and spacious with a bay window overlooking Broadway Street. We quickly realized there was a problem with the air conditioner. We could get the fan to run, but unfortunately there was no cold air. The room’ thermostat was stuck at 79, however it seemed to be broken as it became MUCH hotter through the night but the readout stayed the same. We called the front desk who sent someone to make an adjustment and told us to give it some time, but it didn’t work. At that point we were too tired to call back again and we went to sleep. At 2am I woke up very hot; at 3am my husband awoke from the heat as well. We tried cold showers to cool down but were unable to get back to sleep. The second night we were moved to 220 because the AC on that entire side of the hallway went out for every room and needed a replacement part. We slept well the second night. We were refunded $109 after asking twice, and the manager did not bother coming out to speak with us. While everything else about Hotel Diamond was a great experience, I don’t know that we’ll go back after this.
