Glorietta Bay Inn

The hotel charged me a resort fee and parking fee daily. The fee would have been waived if I had booked direct through the hotel site. Warning to hotel.com customers. The lesson is don’t book on hotel.com.

Raj was great to work with. The facility needs a deep clean and a update. The internet was extremely slow. The pool/spa area closes at 9:00. Why? This was one thing that drove me nuts. At least stay open until 10.

Paid for an upgraded bay view, view was across parking lot, over a couple buildings and if you stood in just the right spot you could see far from being worth any extra money. Room floor was dirty. Trash and debris on property. Hot tob was broken, pool was dirty. But location to beach was decent.

Glorietta Bay Is conveniently located to the beach, The Del, and downtown. It is reasonably priced for the area, which makes it a good choice for these aspects. However, The rooms are old and outdated, the property gives the appearance of being rundown, and there is a high-level of noise from rooms above you. The $40 a day Resort charge in $30 a night parking fee is unreasonable. There is very little parking and it is not a resort. It has a small pool and that’s about it.

What a great secret tucked away in a wonderful spot on Coronado Island! The room was spacious and clean. All of the staff was kind and welcoming. The pool and hot tub were both awesome and clean. The beach is 2 minute walk across the street and the hotel has beach towels, chairs and bodyboards for you to use. The breakfast was a wonderful surprise as well. I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel and this location.

Was surprised by the "resort fee" that was buried in the fine print. If you have to pay the fee but don't get anything extra, then it is just part of the room rate, and it is sneaky to add this fee in the fine print. Rooms are really old and look like old Super 8 rooms. The pictures of the lobby (which was very nice and clean) are nothing like the rooms, which are cheap and old. The rooms are more like a "motel" and certainly not the type of room you would expect to have a "resort fee." They should have more accurate pictures of the rooms and be honest about their rates by not having a sneaky resort fee.

Stayed here cause the Del hotel is way too expensive. This place is walking distance from it and from the beach. Hotel doesn’t look as nice as the pictures depicted. Very old outdated rooms with dirty carpet and a very old AC. The pool was so small we didn’t bother going there at all. Best thing about the hotel is their breakfast buffet.

Property was located in a great place; walking distance for everywhere. Rooms looked noting like photographed; very old and outdated. A surprise $40 daily fee for the use of the mini pool, towels and breakfast (served with paperplates and plastic utencils. Hotel looked nothing like advertised, nor did the room. I expected a 4/5 star facility for the large amount of money. Won't stay there again; not worth the price and the $40 daily fee for things we did not use.

Great location and awesome property for the price. Decor fits well with the area. Only downside is they charge $30 for parking if you don’t book directly through them. Which sucks because that makes you feel like you are being punished. It should be the same for ALL GUESTS!

Not very clean, there are far better options in Coronado

The employees make The Glorietta Bay Inn such a welcoming place. They offer rooms of all sizes to accommodate solo travelers to family. I have been staying here over 25 years and will continue to return. I do feel the property needs some updating, however, it is spotlessly clean, room are painted nicely and bedding is comfortable. The included breakfast is delicious with many options.

Nice looking property in good location, well maintained outside. Very dirty carpets, lots of stains, not even vacuumed between stays. Carpets like a low end motel. Who is cleaning this place??? I was afraid to walk barefoot around the room. Bed okay, but not great, too old, starting to dip in the middle. Too expensive of a hotel to have these type of issues in my opinion. Front staff very nice, however.

It wasn’t as clean as it should be. Some os the bathroom facilities were very grubby and the stains on the carpet were awful. Staff at the front desk were helpful but couldn’t off much in the way of tourist advice.

The carpetibg was old, multiple huge stains, and bad odor upon entering the room. I expected a lot more

Unfortunately our experience with the room was not great. It smelled of mildew, and upon returning from dinner we found it infested with ants; they were crawling on our toothbrushes. The young man at reception was very sweet and changed our room immediately, but the presence of insects is hard to forgive. There was no hotel manager onsite when this occurred, and the management is ultimately responsible for guest experience.

Room smelled like a moldy basement. They even had odor/moisture collecting tubs in the room. Stains on walls, dingy feeling rooms. Holes and stains on sheets. There’s zero chance the owner of this hotel would ever sleep here. The only nice thing about this place is the location.

Service was friendly. Housekeeping was quick. The suite we were in needs to be remodeled. Very dated look. Bed and sofa squeaking. For the price per night, I could’ve gotten something more modern and cleaner looking. But the service and staff were friendly so that made it easier to stomach.

I’m sure and it’s day this was a beautiful property. The architecture is quite lovely, The front desk attendants were very helpful and very pleasant. The breakfast that comes with your stay is very basic. The room was in a huge disappointment, it is very old and dated . The carpet was worn and had black stains on it. I honestly did not feel comfortable in that room. The pool we never used we actually went across the street to the Del Coronado and got day passes to use their pool. I ended up leaving early and spending the weekend at the hotel Del Coronado .

The staff was excellent and the room (a ground-floor car-accessible one) was clean and well-outfitted. But! Access to Orange Avenue by foot (including Hotel Del and restaurants) was completely blocked, limiting my interaction with Coronado severely. Also, rotten, slow Wi-Fi.

After my recent stay here, I’m surprised this hotel has such good reviews. My husband and and I booked a bay view room for our recent stay on Coronado Island. When we arrived, we felt like the room we got was essentially an upgraded motel 6. The view was okay, but the room was dark, dingy, and had a very strong musty, chlorine smell. I’ve never in my life asked for a different hotel room, but this time I felt like I had to based on the smell alone. Based on this room, I would give the hotel 3 stars out of 10. We told the front desk about our disappointment in the room and asked if they had anything else available. They switched us to a room in the main house that didn’t have a view, but was a significant upgrade in all other ways. The room was bright, airy, and odor-free. Based on this room I would give the hotel 8 or 9 stars out of 10. In terms of the other amenities at the hotel, the pool was a little sad and the parking cost was steep. Parking is included if you book directly with the hotel instead of through hotels.com, something I didn’t think was stated clearly enough on the hotel website. The breakfast included with our stay was convenient and had good variety, but the hot breakfast options varied a lot in quality by day. Overall, as much as I liked the second room we got, I don’t know if I would stay here again. I feel like the room quality is too unpredictable and there just weren’t enough upsides to balance out the drawbacks.

The room was large and clean, and the staff were friendly. Great location an easy walk to the beach. However the "patio/balcony room" we booked turned out to be a tiny patio, right up against a sidewalk under construction and a main road, facing the parking lot. That was disappointing. After the "resort fee" and the parking, we paid over $900 for two nights. It was not worth that cost. The marketing photos make this property appear much more up-scale than it is.

For the location, this hotel is a good deal. It is directly behind the Hotel del Coronado and very centrally located. We booked a Harbor View King and that's a stretch but the room was comfortable and clean and staff was very friendly. If you want a view you may want to pay more and stay somewhere else, but if you're okay with a subpar view in a stellar location, this is a great option.

Great location across the street from the Del, very close to the beach and within walking distance of everything in the town of Coronado. Service was great, friendly and very accommodating. Our room was a little on the older side but clean and roomy with 3 queen sized beds. Our room was close to the main road so a little noisy but all in all, I'd recommend as a much lower cost option to the Del

The hotel is walking distance to the beach and shops. It was spacious and the breakfasts were good. The carpets were stained and the balcony views were of other balconies and parking lot. I would stay again, but not extra for view. Very safe

The manager was fabulous and treated us so very well I would return just because of him.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Raj, Reservation Manager, was so nice and helped with an error on my part regarding our reservations. The location is perfect to stroll the cute town and meander along the beach promenade.

Ray was the best! So friendly, accommodating and helpful! The entire staff is amazing So happy to have stayed there!

The location, architecture, history, comfort and amenities including breakfast were superb and only exceeded by the warmth, hospitality, friendliness and professionalism of the staff. Raj was exemplary as manager.

The staff at Glorietta Bay Inn went above and beyond to make my stay wonderful. I enjoyed my stay so much and I can’t wait to come back. I’m extremely thankful with the front desk staff, they made me feel welcomed and appreciated.

The two ladies at the front desk were very welcoming and helpful. We were new to the area and they provided direction to various places to visit. Additionally very customer service centric as they were both accommodating.

Nothing was unique about this property , in fact it wasnt worth the actual cost . It would have been more worth it to spend the extra 40 and stayed across the street . At the Coronado resorts . Way better for the money . I was extremely disappointed with breakfast offering. Coffee machine that didnt work

Breakfast food is really bad

Rooms are very dated (circa 1995). Bed was nice and comfy but the balcony is minimal compared to the photo provided. The main house is beautiful and I wonder if those rooms are better appointed. We were in one of the addition buildings and it’s just meh. Breakfast on the veranda was lovely but it’s very much a holiday inn self serve style with cereal, machine pancakes, and paper plates/plastic cutlery (great for kids/families). Biggest perk is the beach chair/umbrella/towel/toy loaners they have but I’m sure other places have this too.

The Glorietta Bay Inn was fantastic! The convenient location across from the hotel, Del Coronado gave you easy access to the beach for sunsets and morning walks. The staff were incredible and very accommodating with an excellent breakfast every day. We will definitely be back.

We stayed in 2 bedroom suite for 3 nights. Lovely suite and very large. Love everything about this hotel except the breakfast, simply horrible!!! But the location is the best 👌

Very hospitable and welcoming. Easy and convenient parking. Great location. Great breakfast! Rooms could use updating - stains and wear and tear on rugs. Bathroom tiny. Comfy beds.
