Days Inn by Wyndham San Diego-East/El Cajon

Stayed for a place to sleep while on a work trip. The king size room was large and exactly what I needed but King Size Beds Deserve King Size Pillows (not a bunch of little square pillows.) Besides that, ample parking & close to the freeway.

Extremely friendly staff, very nice pool and spa. Convenient to shopping and restaurants. The

Good value stay. Very convenient, safe, and quiet location. Included breakfast is sparse and not replenished regularly, so good luck finding all available options. Jacuzzi was out of service, so points off there.

Great for the price. Comfy bed, Dennys and starbucks walking distance. Indoor jacuzzi. Plus the tv had access the the padres game

Large clean pool, plenty of sun loungers and large indoor hottub. 9am to pm pool & hottub access. Breakfast- cereal, toast, waffles, doughnuts, fresh oranges with a few juices and tea or coffee

The ice mashing was out of service.

Someone had recently smoked in the room or just outside. Distinct odor of stale cigarette smoke.

I didn’t like the amount of bugs that were in the bathroom it really irked me out.

There was bed bugs from room 120 and in another room our guys tripped over a big lump in the middle of the floor. Looks like the floor is raising from the bottom.

Overall stay was great! Found hair in the bathtub and table was dusty.

First, desk manager Maria was great. Our TV had a problem and she quickly came to room and replaced it. When that didn't fix it, she immediately got a new cable box. Our room was dirty, however. The floor needed to be mopped, and there was urine on the toilet seat. The manager offered us a room change. The pool and hot tub was great. Breakfast was minimal (toast, Eggos, cereal, hard boiled eggs). The surrounding area is a bit distressed, but seemed relatively safe (no police sirens, no wandering people). An OK stay, but a bit overpriced on the weekends.

Easy check in. Room was clean and comfortable.. Free breakfast very convenient. I will definitely consider the place for another stay.

There was roaches and my room was filthy upon arrival, it was in a super sketchy area and there was trash all over outside. I originally messed up and actually needed the room until the 24th and I only had it booked until the 23rd. I asked the hotel at the beginning to book me another day. When I went to complain about the roaches on the 23rd (because that's when I found them), they told me I couldn't book another night and I had to leave.

Very loud all night long. TV was set up almost impossible to work it. Floor in room was very dirty. Laminate flooring.

Our room had the highway right behind us and could be heard in the morning. We also saw 2 cockroaches. The staff was very nice and helpful. The rooms were cleaned up daily and well maintained. Looked recently renovated.

The room itself looked okay, but it wasn’t very clean. The folding bed still had a dirty blanket left from the previous guest. It was also quite loud since it’s right next to the freeway.

The "guests" upstairs bumped around until 4AM. But, our room and bath were clean with crisp sheets on the bed and plenty of towels. Both check in and checkout had friendly folks at the front desk.

The hotel room was pretty spacious and clean. The cleaning crew came every day and picked up the trash in the room, made the beds, replenished restroom supplies,etc. One thing I didn't like was the breakfast: For an $165 average per night, you would expect a better breakfast. The only protein was cold boiled eggs. It was missing bacon, sausages, warm waffles. The rest of the food was bread, fruits (oranges and bananas), coffee, cereal, milk, juice. Pretty basic breakfast. They could have done a better job by providing warm breakfast. Another thing I didn't like was the AC was very noisy. Overall - 3 stars. Area was old and the hotel too close to the freeway. Sometimes you smell the stench of marijuana when you go to the restroom, or when you go outside.

Beds are very old and uncomfortable.

This hotel is conveniently located next to a Dennys and a Starbucks but it’s also right next to the freeway so it’s noisy and there’s a lot of foot traffic. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. My one complaint is that the mattress was on a mesh metal platform that made a lot of noise which was strange. Overall for the price this was a good value. I was traveling alone and didn’t feel completely safe so I wouldn’t stay here again unless I was traveling with someone else.

The morning front seat manager has been the worse front desk person I have ever encountered

The over hang above the Inn entrance was falling apart. Concrete was exposed and hanging from it. Their were homeless people hanging out on the property and in the stairways. The room was nice, but needed more lighting. The level of service that I experienced was alarming. When I arrived to the lobby I was met with a sign that read “ Will be back in 10 minutes.” 40 minutes later the rude man stated that we could wait until he did a shift change.

Great customer service

Jesse, the front desk clerk, was so friendly! He was so kind to us and after a day of traveling, his smiling face and great attitude was just what we needed. The hotel is fine, it does the trick!

Guy at front desk is very rude. On his phone talking and playing video games instead of helping guest check out. And also the room had a square hole in the ceiling with insulation and cables hanging out. Doesn't provide a secure feeling.

We arrive there at 12:30 AM and the employee end up giving us a room which was already occupied. We were trying to open the room and we heard a person inside the room. When we went back, the employee didn’t even apologize. After that, we got another room on this room. The AC didn’t work. The shower tub was clogged so we were not able to shower. Also, it didn’t have an iron as well. I suggest no one booked this hotel.

I would have given them a higher rating however i had quite a bizarre experience checking in. Checking in was fine but when I got to my room and tried to unlock the door, it kept giving me an error. I repeadedly attempted to unlock the door when someone inside abruptly opened the door who was twice my size and weight! He asked me "what the hell? Why are you trying to get into my room?" I thought he was going to flip out on me when i quickly showed him my room keys and sleeve which read "room 119". Room 119 had been taken and woukd be taken through the weekend. The man and his wife were in the room and luckily had the door locked from the inside. I was mortified thinking what if they hadn't locked the door, what if they were sleeping, showering, or who knows what else. Can you imagine someone walking into your hotel room while you and your spouse were in, let's say, a very private moment!! Or just as bad, how about if they weren't there but their personal belongings were in the room? Let's say the person walking into their room was shady and/or not honest. Imagine the liability!! Insult to injury, the couple in the room looked at me sideways as if i were lying. It wasnt until i showed them the key and repeated over and over how embarrassing it was for me. I quickly suggested we both go to he front desk to get this staightened out. Unfortunately i had to wait about 30 minutes to get my room reassigned. Was stuck listening to the front desk argue fault with other customer.

I was concerned about the horror stories some prior guests left, so I’ll address the most prominent issues. As to the deposit, they asked for $100 which I put on a credit card. My full deposit was refunded within 2 business days of my stay. The staff was friendly and helpful and the maids honored my wishes for privacy and supplied towels and other items like coffee on request. The jacuzzi was a pleasant surprise; it was clean, hot, and for the most part private. We used it 2 out of the 3 nights we stayed. We didn’t use the breakfast as Denny’s was in the same lot and we went there each morning. The one biggest issue was the hot water in the room as others have mentioned. It was fine the first night but stayed cold the rest of the time. We mentioned it to the desk person and she said they were aware and trying to address it. The room was big, clean, and featured a coffee machine, fridge and microwave. We used all three with no problems. I would stay here again as overall it was a very nice experience.

The chk in was fast and w/out problems. The desk staff was very helpful. All in all I would do it again.

This is s 2 star motel/hotel. Not someplace I would stay more than a night, and definitely not a place I would "hang out" at. Its more motel than hotel. Its a place I would crash on a road trip. Rooms are clean but very basic. Laminate flooring so no carpet which can be a good thing. Frig, microwave, and small single-serv coffee machine. Again, its 2 star. Bed is fine. AC worked. Lobby and "breakfast" are all in one place. Breakfast is very, very limited. Toast, frozen waffles, packaged danishes, cereal, hard boil eggs, coffee, tea and juice. No fruit, no oatmeal, no bagels, no eggs or meats and not muffins. Poor. I guess you get what you pay for. I wouldn't vacation there, just a night to crash. Lastly, neighborhood is sketchy. Dennys and Starbucks in the same parking lot.

Convenient location

The room we had was very nice and it was bigger that I thought it would be. Denny's and Starbucks on the same lot was super convenient too.

The room was clean but there was a smell like someone was smoking in the room sometime ago. It was not super strong and hotel probably attempted to get rid of it but it was not completely gone. The worst thing about this hotel was breakfast. I have been to many hotels in US and other countries and this one was easily the worst. The area around hotel was average. There were restaurants and shopping in the neighborhood but also homeless people staying next to hotel. Overall, it felt like a cheap hotel

Room was clean. The place was quiet. There was barely any water pressure to the shower though. Hardly enough to wash away any soap. The breakfast wasn't that great so if you're booking the room based on having a breakfast available it was pretty slim.

Room was okay, found a dead cockroach in ttd bathroom. Was rushed to get out of room. The continental breakfast in the morning was very sparse. For the price of the room per night, should have been much better.

Very basic roadside motel. Next to highway. A bit noisy. Our room smelled like stake cigarettes the minute I walked in. It was too late and we were too tired to change the room. Breakfast was dismal. Nothing appetizing. Just cereal and toast really. Stop over on a road trip so all we needed and price was fair. Next for to Starbucks and Dennys. Staff were friendly.

Clean, good value, comfortable & plenty of room. Not much offered for breakfast, but having a Denny's right there helps.

The rooms were dark, dingy and smelly. I had to go to my car to get out a beach blanket and my own pillow because the sheets were scratchy. I was very disappointed with the breakfast. It consisted of toast, Eggo waffles, cold hard boiled eggs, oranges, and packaged pastries. That was it. I wore sandles so my bare feet wouldn't touch floor. Gross
