Lovely heritage hotel right at the ocean. Fireplace lobby, rooftop bar and dining, close to everything of interest. Relaxing and stylish.

The property is in a great location in the city. The common areas were beautiful, especially the rooftop area.

Great location, walk to beach in less than 1 min. Rooftop bar has the best coastline sunset view in all of Laguna Beach.

Great location-- a short walk to restaurants, coffee shops, and boutiques. Most importantly, it's right on the beach with a cute rooftop bar. Really could not beat this place for the price.

Our room was small. We had an end unit so we could see the ocean from the third floor and you could open the windows for fresh air. The toilet was one of those industrial flushing kind you see at stadiums. There was little countertop area so only one person could use the sink area at a time. There is no pool and parking is off property up the street. The view from the rooftop bar/restaurant is nice but the food is mediocre.

This was a nice boutique style hotel. Very nice staff and awesome rooftop bar. Make sure to have a reservation. Woukd definitely come back.

We stayed on third floor and it had pretty good views of the ocean. There is a restaurant and bar above this floor and you can hear the chairs moving around during the day but it’s not horrible. It opens at 10am and closes at 10pm and then it’s quiet. It serves good food and drinks and has good views of the ocean. Parking for the hotel is across the street and a half a block away. The bus stops are within a block. A small beach is a two minute walk from the front door. Keep an eye on small kids as there are rocks off shore. The hotel has live music in the lobby occasionally. It was just a one or two piece ensemble and a nice touch. Check with the hotel to see if anybody is playing while you’re there. There is lots of shopping along the main drag. The Pageant and the Sawdust is a good 2 or 3 miles away. There is parking across the street from the Pageant, which is expensive but good for the day. We were there for the Fourth of July weekend and traffic was heavy, be patient, it does move and dies down in the evening.

Amazing Terrace View

Great hotel! Restaurant on property was great, place was super cute and cozy. Parking situation isn’t great…small parking lot down the street from the hotel and it was packed almost had to figure out paid street parking but was able to squeeze into a spot. The lot is very small…other than that loved it!

Incredible and clean. Treated like a king

A cozy and well kept boutique hotel. Very comfortable lobby and a warm friendly staff.

A bit old & run down but very clean & great area of Laguna beach. Close & walking distance to many shops & restaurants. My room had a pickaboo view of the ocean but walking distance to the ocean is few steps. Didn’t try the roof top restaurant so can’t comment on it. I would recommend the facility to clean the windows & definitely change the blinds. Overall a good place with modest price to stay.

Smells and rundown

The portable AC unit made the rooms smell but the weather outside was perfect just to leave the windows open. The staff was amazing. The room was nice and spacious. I didn’t know what to expect as this was our first time staying in Laguna Beach, and we had an excellent time. The restaurant at the bottom and rooftop bar was excellent. Will definitely stay here again.

Booked me into a room that has not been cleaned. The replacement room was not properly equipped and was weirdly like an add for some surf shorts company (there were 10 ads in the room as of they were art). Hallways smell musty. No hand soap in the bathroom.

Clean room,great staff, great location

Started off by getting in just after midnight so because the front desk closed out for the day they couldn’t complete the check in for us. But still gave us the room keys to stay. Immediately upon entering after a long day/night of working we were greeted by a giant cockroach while trying to eat our dinner. Then spent about 10 minutes trying to kill it. There was always several ants roaming around and found them on our clothes as well. The next morning they called me down and asked me to handle talking to Hotels.com because the check in process didn’t go through properly and they were sure if my card was charged even though I already had one on file. Pretty annoying trying to enjoy my morning and I’m then one who had to do their job. The staff was extremely nice the whole time I have to put that out there. They had beach chairs to use and towels at the beach that’s just steps away from the property. They granted a late check out since we got in so late the night before but after we got back from the beach there was a giant beetle crawling on the ceiling and just more ants on our clothes. So we decided to leave early. It’s a bummer because it’s a great location but for the price and what the rooms are, and the bug issues it’s simply not worth it

the room AC did not work the lighting was not working in room had to ask several times . chairs and umbrella for beach were broken. room was not vacuumed or cleaned properly. for a high-priced hotel felt like low class accommodations front desk girl was very nice but the restaurant on roof servers seemed as though they didn't care server in the happy hour downstairs was high on marijuana.

The rooms were really dirty. The beds were full of hair and when we got there the toilet had poop in it and the room Smelled. For the amount of money spent this place was extremely dirty.

The property is in a good location and the rooftop bar has really nice views. Now for the room it was clean but there were numerous issues number one the phone doesn't work so we can't call the front desk for anything. Second the TV doesn't work completely we can only watch a couple apps and no local or cable channels. It was nice of the night front desk guy to come upstairs and get at least the couple apps. However this is unacceptable that we don't have a working phone and TV in a room that charged me over $200 a night. Also, the water being shut off this has not been a good experience at this hotel and for the price you charge I expected better than what I have received and I will not be returning or recommending this property.

Great location of an older, dated hotel. Views are wonderful and food was very good. Room was dated, hot and dark.

Our room faced the street & noise from cross walk kept us up :( We were also charged a “resort” fee that was not previously mentioned when we booked this room. Bathroom faucet fixture was broken.

Ocean view from our room and parking across the street. The room was small and quaint. Great location. WiFi is spotty. My only complaint is they had no coffee in the morning. The lady said they ran out of coffee and needed to buy some. My BF went to Jack in the box next door to buy some. The next morning they had it but it tasted so bad it was not really drinkable. The staff are attentive, friendly, and extremely helpful. I want to mention how special the rooftop bar was. The staff were fantastic. Drinks are great. Food was good. Views spectacular.

Our room was very small and felt not updated. There was a literal hole in the wall of the leading outside so they could fit the tube of a cheap standing AC unit (which was very needed) in the middle of the room. It made the room feel tacky and extra small.

Nice place to stay, next time will get a room with ocean view and bigger bed like a king size, the queen size bed and room felt a bit too small.

TV didn’t work. Cords like spaghetti on wall. AC/Heater unit loud. One window does not open. Room smells musty. Other than that, fine.

The view from my room was gorgeous to wake up to. The bed was super comfortable, the continental breakfast was adequate, but the staff made this stay the 4 stars I am giving it. Tanya especially, was so courteous and helpful. The area is safe, and beautiful, and the room had nice furnishings. Wonderful dining options at the rooftop restaurant as well as close by. The hotel itself is old, the rooms are super small and the walls are thin. There was a night crew doing work on the street, and I could hear early morning conversations through the walls. Not great if you need sleep. Overall, it would be the staff would bring me back to this hotel specifically, as there are other options close by.

We have stayed here a couple of times. Each time we had an issue with the room, from lights not working, remotes missing batteries, to TV not working. Nothing special is ever offered for the inconvenience each time, even when we had to wait for the handy man to change the light bulbs. Last month we came for our 10 year wedding anniversary and I had emailed the hotel asking if they can do something special to make this memorable for my husband and I as we had a rough year health wise, Never got a response via email nor was there anything special waiting for us as we entered our room. We really could have chose to stay anywhere but the rooftop bar always sells us and the easy access to the beach but I think the 3rd time was not a charm unfortunately and we will not staying here anymore. Such a disappointment.

Lovely older hotel with an amazing refurbished lobby. The hotel had a rooftop bar and restaurant, but service was poor. They lost our reservation, we had to wait for drinks and food. We mentioned the wait to manager and she addressed it.

Beautiful hotel and great location, but unfortunately that was overshadowed by our uncomfortable experience with some male employees. Our first night, the bartender Chase yelled at us from across the street in a way that felt inappropriate and demeaning. After waiting for awhile to go back to the hotel as to not be yelled at, we walk in the lobby to find Chase swaying back and forth, eyes closed and sucking his fingers. When we walked past, he tried talking to us again and we told him his behavior was inappropriate. He continued to make vulgar remarks as the young man from the front desk sat there, watched and did absolutely nothing. When we addressed it with him the next day, we were met with defensiveness and our concerns were dismissed. The following night, not realizing Chase was a bartender at the hotel, we walk into the bar and realized it was him. We were willing, for the sake of peace, to forget the situation and have a drink. Instead of an apology, he made remarks insinuating we fabricated the situation and it never happened. The behavior from the bartender and young man at the front desk made us feel unsafe, uncomfortable and unsettled. What should have been a relaxing stay became stressful and emotionally draining due to the lack of unprofessionalism. This isn’t just unprofessional, it’s dangerous. We hope management takes this seriously as the hotel has so much potential. No one should feel unsafe at a hotel, especially not by the people being paid to work there.

The front desk staff are the best part about this place. They were friendly, gave good recommendations, and helped problem solve the many problems we encountered on our stay. It is located within walking distance of main Laguna and right at the beach. We did not have a chance to eat at the restaurant. It’s a nice touch that they offer coffee and pastries in the morning. The building is old and the walls are thin. Due to issues with the heat, we had the unfortunate opportunity to stay in three rooms on three different floors over the course of a two-night stay. A place on the second floor with an ocean view and a king bed was a nice size room. It had a lovely bathtub. The other rooms were very small. The beds are comfortable and everything is clean. We were there on a very rainy and cold weekend. Our first room the portable heater didn’t work so they moved us late at night. The second room was right by a service door that kept slamming all night and didn’t have a window. The third room was the best but the heat stopped working twice. The cleaning staff was also extremely loud in the morning, banging doors, talking, and hitting things with their carts. Overall we made the most of our stay. But if you’re a light sleeper, either bring earplugs or stay elsewhere.

Checked in late 7:30 Monday night. 2 new front desk clerks. Couldn’t find reservation waited 1/2hr while they added the reservation. We asked for our usual room from 301-305 not available Room 310 the window would not stay open. We asked for a different room non available. The next morning woke up 7am to loud pounding noises of workers renovating a room 8:30 went downstairs for coffee was told not available. Overall, not a pleasant stay.

We will be back. Staff was great.

This place was in a convenient location. The beach is two houses down from the hotel. It had a rooftop restaurant and the access to that area passed in front of some of the guest rooms. So you could hear conversations as people passed in front of your room. The room was nicely updated and was really well done. Unfortunately there was an odor in the room that did not dissipate and we were told it’s an old facility and they have been trying to rectify it. Staff was awesome, accommodating, friendly and quick to respond to concerns. There was plenty of food options within walking distance and the place had a relaxing vibe. We would stay there again.

Fantastic property and staff—accommodating, and cheerful. My room was uniquely designed and very comfortable—I wished I could have stayed more than one night, I will definitely be back. Great beach literal steps away. I strongly recommend researching the parking situation before you arrive, they have a loading zone in front of the hotel which was in use when I arrived and led to a frustrating situation because I didn’t realize they had a free lot across the street—this was my bad, not theirs. Even though I came in frustrated the woman working the desk turned my mood around immediately. The upstairs restaurant was fantastic—I’ll definitely be back.

Arrival was a bit shaky - parking off-site and difficult to negotiate. I was surprised that the desk clerk did not offer assistance with my suitcase up some stairs to the elevator (I am a female senior). We were disappointed that The Rooftop closed an hour earlier than the time posted on the website (website says 10:00 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays - we were told that they close at 9:00 pm.). Last call at the restaurant bar is 10:30 p.m. It would be nice to have a nightcap after the theater, but neither venue is open late enough. The room has little place for clothes - no dresser whatsoever. Also, I expect housekeeping from a hotel, even if the linens and towels are not changed due to environmental concerns. Housekeeping is provided only after a 3-day stay. Otherwise, the staff was nice and seemed eager to please, especially in Comedor. The location is nice - steps from the beach and trolley to the Pageant.

Very much enjoy this hotel. Very close to the beach. Downtown Laguna Beach is also very nice. The room itself, however, is very small. But if you don't intend on spending much time in the room, the overall hotel is nice.

The staff here is beyond kind and willing to help with any questions I had about the area. Service was overall a 10/10. I would like to personally thank Tanya for making my anniversary trip with my girlfriend a wonderful experience! Also the rooftop lounge has delicious food with an amazing view of the water.

Basic but with character. Good location, rooftop bar very good

Overall it was a good stay at this property. Recently remodeled, super cute inside. The rooftop bar was convenient although the cocktail options were minimal. The bed was not very comfortable though and the surrounding area was not quiet. Was woken up at 5:30am by loud music that went on for an hour. By that time I just ended up staying awake. Also, no coffee maker in the room. The staff was very friendly and helpful though. Definitely pros and cons with this stay.

La Casa del Camino is a lovely old inn with many nice features but could be improved. Unfortunately its famed roof bar/lounge was closed when I was there due to rain and there were no other food or beverage services available in the inn. My room was spacious enough and had a nice bathroom, but needed rugs on the floor, a luggage stand for my suitcase, and instructions on using the stand-alone heating/cooling device. And morning coffee service should be accompanied by pastries or something, as a sign in the lobby says would be available.

This is as our second stay here. The rooftop bar is amazing with views to die for. The cafe downstairs serves up live piano music on Sat night so that was a plus. I like the old decor and atmosphere here. We’ll be back.

The Dining Options are limited and they no longer Serve Breakfast. This is a really big disappointment 😞 However the Staff was wonderful and the location is great. 👍

Amazing stay for the price. Right at the beach. Resorts charging $600-$700 a night within walking distance so this was definitely a steal. Wish I remembered his name but the bartender/waiter in the downstairs restaurant (they have one on the rooftop as well) was AMAZING. Super friendly, relatable and informative. All around amazing experience. Highly recommend.
