We appreciated that the rooms were newly renovated and we enjoyed the breakfast. It was also nice to sit out by the fire in the courtyard in the evening. Our biggest complaint was the cleanliness of the bathroom. You can smell mold as you approach the bathroom and the corners were moldy. We had family staying in a different room and this was not unique to our room, as theirs had the same issue. We also found some items like a package flossers left among the towels from previous guests. Staff was very friendly and it is nice to only be a short walk from the beach.

Did not use continental breakfast, but all other amenities were great and convenient, especially the laundry. Both of the two queen beds were great. Very large television in the room which was great for watching movies, plus the television offered access for external streaming (ex. Bluetooth connection to it). No complaints.

I like that the room was remodeled and walkable areas unlike other hotel rooms which are tight space. The bathroom vanity area had plenty of space but the actual sink was very small. The toilet and tub were attached together in a very very small space. The water pressure was excellent, however if you turn the water in the sink too high it would make gurgling noises. There is no covered area to get dressed since there is no door separating bathroom and bed area. There is a fridge/freezer and microwave. The room was relatively clean-did not see any bugs. Breakfast was adequate. There does not appear to be an elevator going up to the second floor so you have to walk up the stairs which may be a problem for some customers. I most enjoyed the 3-minute walk to Marina State Beach. There are no EV Chargers on the property but plenty at the nearby Target shopping plaza.

This was a great stay during a busy weekend. First time staying here and had a pleasant time. Friendly staff and quiet. Nobody had any complaints and our door Dashers were able to easily find our rooms to deliver dinner. And came with free breakfast and fire pits??! We'll be back

Nice hotel, liked that the beach is just 2 mins away, also loved that they had fire pits on the property it was nice to sit out there at night and enjoy that. Breakfast was good had alot to choose from. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Only reason I didnt give it a 5 star is because the first room we went to when checking in was not ready/cleaned so we had to go back and get another room also microwave didnt heat. Other than that I would stay here again.

The pros: The beds were super comfortable, and the amenities is very good. Lots of outlets for me to plug-in and charge my phone. TV looked brand new and worked great. There was a microwave and a fridge as well.Parking was also terrific. The staff was very friendly, which was a huge Plus. The cons: the floor in our room was actually pretty dirty and into the bathroom as well. Overall, I’d stay there again. Another plus was they are right by the beach.

This Best Western is located walking distance from Marina State Beach. It is quiet and cozy, with fire pits and a decent outdoor area. The rooms have recently been renovated and were quite nice although the bathrooms are not as modern. Towels are thin and pillows are a little sad, but quite in line for the price point. The drive into Monterey was easy, and we found some great food in Marina and Seaside that saved us from the traffic and chaos of Monterey st. I would stay here again (or across the street at the Resort if I splurge!)

So glad we found this place. Rooms are updated and wonderful. Breakfast looks great with daily changes & specials. Only issue was Ice Maker was broken. They did there best to provide Ice out of a cooler in the lobby.

Room needs some work: mold/mildew on bathroom ceiling, sink doesn’t drain very well, TV is crooked on wall, and pillows are lumpy. On the plus side, bed was comfortable (aside from the pillows), laminate flooring is nice, and breakfast was decent (although breakfast trash can was overflowing and floors were sticky).

Nice beach within walking distance, though wooden walkway on the way to the beach is falling apart. Rooms are kinda dirty, and mold is growing in the shower. Keycards for the room kept failing, and I had to get new keycards 3 times in a 2 day stay.

They ran out of towels. We got 1 towel for 3 people two nights. 2nd night we lost power for at least a hour. The TV cable did not work. The shower had hair from previous stay. The breakfast is nice plus though. The rooms have new furniture. And hardware floors were new. Fresh paint on the outside so it does not look bad on the outside.

We arrived 3 hours after checkin and the room we were assigned was a mess. Full of trash empty food boxes and not clean. We were told we could wait for a room to be cleaned. Our bathroom smelled like pee and was not updated like the rest of the room.

The shower did not drain there was mold floating in the water when we attempted a shower. Used tissues from previous guests stuffed behind the bed. Filthy walls and floors. When we complained the management refused to rectify, even after an Expedia agent reached out to assist. Spend the extra $50 and stay somewhere else!!! Do not be fooled by the Best Western name the company should revoke this from this particular MOTEL at best!!

Most loudest room I’ve ever stayed in. It’s a clean and renovated place but walls have NO padding. Your next door neighbor feels like they are in your room, you can hear anything they do. So bizarre. Breakfast is hit or miss but was OK. Ok location

Badly in need of further maintenance in some areas and needs some amenities like a Jacuzzi, fitness center, etc Pros: * Location is within walking distance to the beach and a short drive to other local attractions * Breakfast provided and decent coffee * Bed and pillows reasonably comfortable Cons: * Hotel staff were not very pleasant * No amenities * We had ants in our bathroom area * Air conditioning unit in our room sounded like it would shake itself off the wall making sleep difficult * While the room had recently been renovated and was pretty nice, the bathroom was a disaster. The bathroom door was broken, shower was a mess with broken or shoddy repairs and the bathroom was so small it was uncomfortable

Great location and the rooms are newly renovated. Very clean and bright. Big room too. The bad... The heater was sooooo loud that it made sleep difficult. Also, there is no weather stripping around there door so the wind blows right in making the room very cold and drafty, plus increasing the start/stop of the heating unit and the noise from outside the room. Overall it was a great deal, great location, nice room but needs some help with the AC / heating unit!

Batteries for the key card reader on our door had to be replaced at check in with us standing outside for 20 minutes waiting. Then the key cards had to be reprogrammed multiple times even though I kept them separated from anything that could deactivate them. Door had such a large gap between it and the frame that light from outside shown through. It was large enough of a gap for bugs to easily get into the room. Our shower was not very clean and towel was either stained or they folded up a dirty towel to be used again. Won’t stay again.

There was no privacy. Staff gave the key to our room to another guest who tried to enter our room at 12:40am. Staff let themselves into our room while we were there even though the do not disturb sign was on the door. One evening we came back and our key would not open the door. Staff were perplexed. They kept insisting we'd asked to move rooms. We had not. The area is nice, next to a state beach however, the freeway noise is loud and when we had neighbors we could hear the screaming children through the walls.

It was a 3p check-in and we arrived at 530p but no rooms were available. We returned at 7p. It would have been nice to get a call in advance so we didn’t have to kill time. Also, I worry about the cleanliness of the breakfast. The staff person wore gloves but left them on indefinitely, even when she was texting on her phone. Yikes Thank you

We've stayed here multiple times, and it is always a pleasant experience. The staff is so helpful and friendly, the facility itself is always very clean, the complimentary breakfasts are amazing, and the rooms are always so clean and fresh with an included AC unit. Best Westerns are always our first choice and they are usually a very affordable option as well. Also, this one is very close to the beach, only a short walk away!

This was THE worst hotel stay we’ve ever had. We were locked out of our room for hours. They gave us 5 different keys. Finally they came after not believing us that the keys wouldn't work. Turns out the battery for the key fobs on the door was dead. They said they'd re key it and it would take a few hours (a few hours turned into half a day) so we had no access to our room. Well, then the next day the air conditioner doesnt work. They finally switched us rooms. The hair dryer doesnt work and the shower is clogged. The manager wasnt in at 8:30 in the morning even though we were told he comes in at 7. When we asked for a refund he said he would give us a discount next time we came to town. This is unacceptable!

Clean, convenient, all the amenities of a basic hotel. Walls are very thin and the convenience of being right off the highway means you hear a lot of traffic. Walkability to Marina Dune Beach is a super highlight!

Decent stay walls are thin so you can hear in the next door room talk and hear the freeway traffic. Walking distance to marina state beach was nice. Hotel needed some work but it looks like they are trying. If you going into Monterey make sure you give your self more time during rush hour times. During afternoon it took us 15 min to get to aquarium area. During morning drive in @730 am it took 35-40 min to get there. Overall not bad

No ocean view from property, but conveniently located about a 10 minute from Marina State Beach. About a 15 minutes from Monterey Bay Aquarium, and 20 minutes from 17 Mile drive. Property clean with friendly staff.

On our arrival, there were 3 police cars making an arrest and we couldn’t get into the parking lot. It just felt unsafe around the area.

The location is walking distance to the ocean. It's away from the business of Seaside and Monterey. The rooms have walls that are paper thin. You can hear your neighbors. The breakfast was nice. The clean up was slow. The garbage can was overflowing.

Loved the almost instant hot water and pressure. Easy parking and lovely location across the street from the beach. We chose this specific hotel for the breakfast but they were wiped out of everything by 8:30 am so we had to spend money on breakfast both mornings. That was very disappointing.

The motel went though an excellent makeover. Everything looked brand new. I stayed here many times in the last 20 year and I could tell the difference. The complimentary breakfast was better than I expected. Even with sausages, eggs and good coffee. Beach is within walking distance and restaurants only minutes away. Great place to stay.

Positive things first. Location! Very helpful and kind team working the front desk. Free parking. Reasonably priced for the location. Negatives next. Says sound proofed windows, not the case at all--can hear traffic from the highway. Says free wifi, but zero in our room. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable, sagging a huge amount. I ended up moving to sleep on the very tiny lounge seat in the room because even though I hung off the end of it, it was that much more comfortable than the bed. The outside areas of the place needs a lot of cleaning up.
