Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Monterey Beachfront-Marina, CA

this spot, but i'm a gym buff and I like to enjoy a hot jacuzzi, but the reception said they closed it during covid and extending the yard to a court yard :( I was sad

It say’s in their website that the property is beach front but the beach is a little far from the beach. Swimming pool were closed, my son were disappointed.

Finding this property was a breeze! Staff was great from check in to check out. When I booked this Expedia said they had a pool. They no longer have the pool/spa. This was disappointing. The bed was comfortable and for the most part the room was clean. The smell of the cleaning products was overwhelming the first day and gave me a headache. There is zero room for walking around. Plus side there's no room to lose anything. The room and hotel both seem like they are under construction. Our room was missing a lampshade on the desk lamp and the bedside lampshade had a stain on it that looked like blood. The front desk replaced it right away. The bathroom baseboards were filthy and needed a deep clean. The bathroom mirror with a built In Light was a nice touch, however the hole from the old light fixture was still there. Overall it.was fine for the weekend but if your looking for something for more than just a couple nights I would continue your search.

Hotel was shabby, at best. Missing outlet covers, many outlets that didn’t work, walls and ceiling very dirty. Bathtub was a mess. Pool and hot tub covered with plywood and astroturf.

Motel was ok.you get what you pay for these days. Bed was comfy swimming pool was non-existent. Staff helped with our car needs.

Seems a little run down. Needs some repairs and stairs look dirty.

Shocked that Radisson would allow their name to be associated with this place. There was construction everywhere. My room had the windows covered in plastic for the painting. The room had no TV, no soap, no washcloth and the security latch was broken. The smoke detector had a missing cover and several sprinkler heads were covered with cloth. The place is a dump.

Location was good. Across from Marina State Beach right of the freeway. Good costumer service. Unfortunately the hotel is worn down and rooms are dirty, we found roaches and mold in our room. The stairs are not safe when it rains. We had a person from our party slip and fall because of the wet stairs. 3 floors and no elevator. The rooms are small. Not adequate for 2 beds. We had one of the beds literally next to the AC and window and the other next to wall and it didn’t give room to walk.

Location is great. First room they gave us didn't have heat. The showers didn't work properly. Not enough linens.

I would sum up this property as an HGTV-flipped Motel 6. It looks good from afar, and the materials in the room look uodated, but everything was way below what i was expecting given the connection to Radisson. The swimming pool and hot tub seemed to be permanently out of commision and were covered over with astro turf. There was no remote for the TV and no extra rolls of TP. Luckily we didnt run out until the last morning. We couldn't call to the front desk since the phone did not work. The biggest factor though was that I had to change rooms twice before settling in because the deadbolts could not be fully engaged. The first room had plenty of space for our two queen beds, but the final room hardly had a walkway between the beds and the desk. There was also a lot of light spilling around the bottom of the door from outside so I put a suitcase there to minimize that. All in all I was very upset with myself for being lured in by lower prices and not doing enoigh due diligence to avoid this location.

When I arrived and went in my room, it was infested with COCKROACHES, so infested they were in the refrigerator. The property was run down and dirty around the premises. When I spoke to the front desk person he was rude, Yogi, I believe was his name. I immediately called Expedia and sent them pictures of the cockroaches all of the room. Expedia made it right and refunded me but I still see this hotel listed on Expedia…I would neverrrr

Location was nice, as it was really close to everything and walking distance from the beach. Now on to the important stuff! The room quality was like anything I’ve experienced before. There was mold on the bathroom walls, stains on the bedsheets, fire alarms were covered with painters tape as there was no fire alarm. We also found some men’s underwear behind the bathroom door. This was a trip with my daughter, so no man was traveling with us! Would we recommend staying here??? Absolutely not! Now it makes sense on why there’s no deposit required!

The room was dirty. There were makeup stains all over the bedding, dirty chair, dirty bathroom walls and tiles. We were given two towels for three people with no wash rags or hand towels and no towel to put on floor in front of shower. The TV remote was broken.

Don’t stay here if you have kids. Great location, but you’ll hear everything from other people in other rooms. The floors are so dirty here kids feet were black from walking inside the room, also you’ll get the smell of mildew the minute you walk in the room. Owners need to upgrade this great location motel. Lots of potential.

This place was gross. We got to our room and the floors and walls looked like they have never been cleaned before. The shower had hair and pubes in it, and the handle to turn it on didn’t work. Hot water was nonexistent. The towels had stains on them. The caulking had mold. The door to get into the room didn’t have a cover and the batteries and wires were exposed, which is completely unsafe while having a toddler with us. THEN we get back from dinner to find the door to our room was OPEN. Thankfully they changed our room but to be honest, the second room wasn’t much better, at least the remote to the tv worked in the second room.

Cockroaches, ants, dirty shower that barely worked. No smoke detector or hair dryer. Burns on the blankets. Their claim of a full breakfast is too generous. I think this is the worst hotel I’ve visited. I also noticed some structural beams completely rotted out, and the pool was drained.

The room was extremely dirty with stained sheets, dirty pillows and towels. Full of cockroaches and other insects and bugs. It was disguising. We have booked for 2 nights but stayed for couple of hours only and checked out. Still waiting for a refund…

Room was not the most clean. But it had to do. Not super appealing. Pulled down the blinds and there was a fly. Microwave was missing a plate. Rust in shower. Multiple flies appeared from somewhere throughput our stay. Trash outside the room near the stairwell. Leaking AC on the outside of the room. Fridge was not plugged in, im assuming it didnt work because it stunk when i opened it. Chair was dirty as it if had some sort of dirt on it. Little bits of trash next to the bed behind the bedside table. I think there was a huge lack of attention to detail my whoever cleaned. The baseboards were dirty. I could tell that the room wasnt mopped well enough because my socks were brown on the bottom. TV was large which was nice, bedding was comfortable and breakfast was good, but overall not a good enough stay to come back again. The fact that i could look around the room at Multiple spots where it just hadnt been cleaned was so unappealing.

As just a place to sleep while sightseeing, was adequate. First room was dirty, no towels, and water issues. So we moved, mostly due to not being able to flush the toilet. Second room was a bit better but stains, holes in the bedspread. Again, screws half screwed in holding things, like first room. Loud neighbors whose cigarette and weed smoke came in under our door. They also made loud noise until about 4 in the morning. Water issues continued. Some cold showers. Breakfast was actually not too bad, but will not return to this place.

I had high hopes for this hotel and was left a little disappointed. The photos make it look modern and new but with closer inspection it’s not wearing too well. We booked two rooms, mines was literally unable for cat swinging, the beds were hard against both walls and only a few inches between them it was certainly not a queen room. The other room we booked was a better size. The air con was very noisy. The noise insulation non existent, even next doors air con kept us awake let alone the idiot reviving his engine in the car park at 4am. Our fridge contained a previous occupants fruit drink, looks like it had been there a while. The spa was drained and covered over. Onto the plus, location is great and the breakfast was really good.

It was a great location to drive along the coast and get to Monterey. The Marina state beach is within a short walk. The room was very small and the bed wasn’t too comfortable. we had to get towels from the maids because no one came by during our 3 night stay to clean or check if we needed anything. It was adequate for our needs. Nothing special.

Old building. Rooms are small. I had an uncomfortable bed. But it’s Clean. Included breakfast, it was fine. Nice staff. Moderately priced.

For $300, I expect more. Small, cramped room, no overhead lights (literally), filthy small window looking at the stairs, crumbling bathroom. Won’t fall for this one again.

The surrounding area going up to our room was very dirty. Our room was pretty clean for the most part and it was close to the beach so that was great. What I really disliked was just that it was very, very small there was nowhere to put our clothes away and the closet that they had in the room was small also with like 3 hangers. I guess if you’re there just for the night it would be ok but anything longer than that I wouldn’t recommend it. The breakfast wasn’t that great either just a few items to choose from.

The room was so small I couldn’t do yoga. We could barely walk between the bed and walls. There wasn’t an overhead light. Just one lamp on the bed side table. The other lamp on the desk was without a bulb. Although the rooms appears to recently have been updated - trim was missing on the door, something was wrong with the trim in the bathroom, the shower was almost impossble to turn on , there was one towel, when we asked at the front desk we did get another one, but it was obvious we had interrupted his doom scrolling. bathroom. It was not clean. Ended up staying only for one night. Food is carb heavy and no protein. Dont get fooled by the pictures. Room is tiny as well! They were barely able to fit 2 beds into the room.

We chose this hotel because it was beachfront, knowing it was a basic place that wasn’t updated. It was a one night stay on our way north. Bed was okay, the privacy shade allowed us to look out but no one to see in, but at night there was no additional curtain to draw to keep light out and there was a walkway light right outside the door. Made me very uncomfortable and I had a poor night’s sleep. Breakfast was good and quick. The staff were very nice and accommodating. It served its purpose, but need more room privacy in the future.

Good place, they texted to see if there was anything I needed, I replied with one request and got nothing back. Other then that they were very good

Easy check in and courteous

We waited many minutes for a front desk person to show up during typical check-in time (after 3 PM). Room was not clean. Floor hadn't been swept. Found hair on towels and shower curtain (not our own hair). Hole in shower curtain. Broken shower amenities. Soiled couch and patchy paint job. Not worth the over $300 we had to pay.

Second time booking at this hotel. Breakfast is served early and is always fresh. Staff is great and always helpful!

I always travel with cleaning supplies but rarely use them...I used them here, just in case, because of the reviews but our room was decent, hot water worked, ac/heater worked, tv worked. Half the lights did not. It was a bit noisy but nothing crazy. Great location for my little family. We enjoyed our overnight stay.

I would say unless your desperate this place will do. There were too many problems when we first arrived. Tv didn’t work and telephone wasn’t working so every time we had a problem we had to walk down 3 flights of stairs and I’m disabled. Front desk man didn’t seem friendly nor concerned about our inconveniences.

The place was in somewhat bad repair. We had to ask for clean towels and bathroom tissue. We were there for 7 days and the room was not cleaned during that time. The staff was nice and friendly.

Property was very busy. I felt safe but you had to take your own trash out and get your own clean towels. Housekeeping never came to change anything in 5 days. It was very clean when I arrived and breakfast was good. I would stay here again.

The service was good. First room the door frame was completely broken, anyone could have broken in during the night. The room was dirty and I asked to change rooms which the man let me. Second room was still very very dirty. The bathroom had pubic hair all on the floor and the walls were covered in yuck. Shower had other ppls hair in it. I went to wash my hands and again other ppls hair. The shower wouldn’t get hot water so I was unable to shower which was not ok! Over all I will never stay here again. Bed was hard too and it was so gross I didn’t even sleep in the covers! Never again. Nothing against the people. Nice and friendly.

Walking Distance to the beach, however; beach area was closed. it is close to tourist area in the monterey bay. location and price was good

So close tot he beach. Maybe a 5 minute walk. Its an old hotel so theres quite a bit of repairs that need to be done. Very clean. Comfortable beds. Staff was very friendly. Thin walls! You can hear everything. But its a hotel we slept theought the party next door. Breakfast included and really good price for our stay. Will definitely comeback.

It is just off highway 1 and Monterey area is easily accessible. Just on the other side of Highway 1 in Marina are numerous stores and restaurants.

Dank, dismal, decrepit, dilapidated, depressing. I was snookered in by the deceptive title “Monterey beachfront-Marina”. This property is not in Monterey on the marina beachfront. It is 15 minutes away from the town of Monterey, in the small town of Marina, across the street from an enormous sand dune and luxury resort. No waterfront in sight, no beach access near hotel. State beach is a ten minute walk. More like a $65 room rather than a $200 room. The grounds are filthy, the pool is covered and non operable. All of the exterior stair railings are peeling with rust and rot. The door to the room does not fit the frame, with gaps all around and the u shaped security latch is broken and halfway unscrewed from doorframe which is broken and cracked with rusted nails protruding from casement molding. (It appears that door was kicked in at some point) The toilet tank lid was completely cracked in half. The room was dusty and there was only one towel provided for a King bed room. Newer sink. Newer fiberglass bathtub insert. No stopper in the tub. The curved shower curtain rod was sagging due to improper installation, so the curtain did not hang to the edges, resulting in water all over floor while showering. Towel rack above the toilet is down sloping so anything on it falls into toilet. Bathroom door hinges are completely rusted. Only one bedside table. The mattress was sagging and had a 2” foam topper. Pillows were undersized squares full of foam chunks. Lots of road noise.

Walking distance to the beach. Friendly staff. Breakfast was good and with different options on the first morning, but on the second morning options were minimum.

This is our place to stay when we are looking for a great priced room with an excellent breakfast, excellent location 5 minute walk from Marina state beach, and clean rooms. My only recommendation is to have the one or two transient types that occasionally loiter sent along otherwise great.

I know it was a lower budget hotel but you come to expect better from a Country Inn and Suites. When we arrived we had zero towels in our room. No hand towels, no bath towels. The AC did not work so it was sticky to say the least. Breakfast was better than I expected. Powdered eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy, waffles, cereal. Pretty standard but good. One of the worst things was the shower curtain. The bar it was on slouched in the middle so the curtain did too. It would not stay closed regardless of what you did.

Breakfast included food options were limited and not accommodating for people with dietary restrictions. The bath towels were limited to only 2 body towels. No hand towels or wash cloth. Only 1 bar of soap provided. The toilet paper roll in bathroom was broken. Overall, the property didn't seem to be well cared for, but the location was nice for the price.

We had a mouse visit during the first night, and incredibly noisy neighbors. Requested to change room, and in the morning realized there were no bath towels in the room. Got towels from réception, then discovered the shower in the new room wasn't working. Not impressed for a 2 night stay. Breakfast was okay.

Great location but attention to detail was bad. Opened the door to find the light switch cover broken in half exposing electrical. In this shower was conditioner but the holder for the soap had no soap. Breakfast had eggs and potatoes but not meat selection. Even the OJ was orange water at best. Will stay somewhere else on our next visit.

Great Location and they have done some work to update the rooms. I felt the bed was too firm but it was clean. The floor and blinds seemed dirty. Breakfast was lacking but the waffles were good. Overall, we got what we paid for and we enjoyed the stay.
