This was the absolute worst stay of my life. I have absolutely no idea how this place is being offered on Hotels.com and the listing should be immediately removed to keep anyone from meeting the same fate. It’s giving, cr**k motel with rent by the hour energy. Nothing was clean, we only had a sheet on the bed and had to request a comforter after our first night’s stay. Was handed a crumpled blanket that we have no idea was clean or not. Very few amenities, no house keeping, few towels, the cabin had a ‘full kitchen’ with absolutely nothing available to use the kitchen with. No pots, no pans, no heating pads if you used the oven, no plates, paper towels, or silverware. I guarantee someone has died in the place based on the various ‘splatters’ on the walls. One of the adjacent rooms from us had the door open the entire time we were there with the TV on. One of the cabins looked like it was converted into an extended stay and likely isn’t available for anyone else to book with because the person living there looked very much like they LIVED there. We would have been better off being informed that this is a camping ground and we’d need to plan all our own amenities. We bailed for our final night’s stay and drove all the way to Reno, Nevada just to get away from this place.

I come to Nevada City three times a year to perform in the Gold Country World Dance Showcase, and I always stay at the Nevada City Inn. The location is very convenient to the theater, and there is a wonderful organic sandwich and smoothie shop a block down the street, called Fudenjuice. The inn and the neighborhood are always quiet, the rooms are clean, the water is hot, the beds are comfortable, and I really don't need anything else. This last visit I stayed in the Hard Rock cottage, which has a big gazebo right in front and another one on the side, and a nearby BBQ grill, very nice for enjoying a warm evening. I like to walk around the neighborhood after the show and look at the brilliant stars.

Parking was fine, and the person at the front desk was very polite. However, the room I was given was in extremely poor condition. There was writing on the wall, holes in the chairs, a broken toilet, and stains on the sheets. Unfortunately, the front desk did not offer to switch rooms or address the issues. I’m not sure how they can expect guests to stay in rooms like that, especially while charging full price. I hope they fix it, as it's not intended to slam the place, but hopefully, they will be forced to do better.

If you are looking for a location to shoot a movie set in a down and out motel, this would be perfect. It’s really a shame because it could be very sweet. It’s well situated near down town, walking trails and can walk to restaurants. The cabins and grounds could be very pleasant to hang out at if they weren’t so hammered.

The cottage was disgusting, dirty walls, gross floors, horrible fridge, disgusting furniture. The walls were filled with holes, in desperate need of cleaning and paint. The cocking on the windows was smeared onto the glass. The blinds were damaged and broke. Definitely would give less than zero score.

The most disgusting place I have ever stayed. Expedia should be ashamed to host any bookings. Mold everywhere, flooring is lifting. Smell of urine and worst of all, a blood soaked mattress that was clearly turned over and re-used. Absolutely unsafe for anyone to stay here.

I ended up having to pay to stay somewhere else. Upon walking into the room, the smell of cigarette and urine was over powering. There were bodily fluid stains on the bed sheets. Nacho cheese was inside the drawer, the toilet was dirty, there was dried blood on the counter top, a random piece of wood leaning against the bathroom door, mold and a leak under the bathroom sink, a “used” napkin under the bed etc. I walked the keys back to the manager and told him why we wouldn’t be staying there. It was an awful experience and I would like to request a refund.

Great location but overall very disappointing. The sheets and all bedding was filthy and hadn't been washed. Strained blood stains on the conforters, pubic hair's and god knows what else. The towels were still damp from the previous guests so needless to say we didnt shower during our stay. Its apparent they dont have housekeeping here. They just make the bed and rehang the used towels from the previous guests. The gentleman in the office was very friendly but the fact they dont clean/wash bedding after each guest is disgusting. I wont ever be staying here again.

Room unavailable when pulled up hour past check in. Booked two rooms together and they separated us. Vermin, feces stains, and cockroaches visible in room. Front desk attendant was nodding off from obvious drug use and could not stay awake or tell me simple check in procedures without drooling or passing out. Left and went to find other safer, cleaner lodging in grass valley.

This is an older property and the rooms reflect this. The beds were comfortable and clean. It was fine for us as we spent most of our time with family. The owner/manager was very helpful and friendly. We were in the end room and the Wi-Fi was weak there. He offered us another room but we chose to stay put. We could easily walk to the gazebo or just a bit toward the office to use Wi-Fi. It worked fine for us but it’s certainly not the Ritz.

Cheap and nasty accommodation. Looks fine in the photos, but in real life, everything was either dirty or grubby. The bed mattresses had huge dips in them, so were extremely uncomfortable to sleep in. The walls are paper thin, so I could hear the neighbor until 1.30am in the morning. Good location - but not a good place to stay. This place needs a makeover!

This could be a super cute property. The pictures make it seem like it already is, but they've got a long way to go. All I need is a roof over my head, I'm not a complainer, but yikes. Our non smoking room smelled like a wet ashtray, the shower sort of worked (some one changed the knobs but not the valve...), the bed had one thin blanket and the heater kind of worked but there was no way to adjust it unless you had a pair of pliers. The lock on our door ceased working at some point in our stay, and the onsite manager seemed to think that wasn't really a big deal. He did eventually fix it and offered to put us in a different room if he couldn't. Fri - Mon stay still cost just short of $400.

Very cheap, relatively speaking, should probably be cheaper though. Worst mattress I've ever encountered, and the place hasn't been properly cleaned in 30 years from the looks of it. Just grimy and gross. Bedding and towels were worn but credit where credit is due, that were clean. Better than sleeping in my car, but only because there was a heater.

The hotel room given to us was run down, the heater didn’t work so we had to huddle together to stay warm and the bathroom was really run down that we decided not to take a shower.

Waited until 3 pm check in time but no one at the desk until 3:25pm. Assigned me a room that had not been cleaned. Had to go back to desk for a different room. The toilet is loose and ready to tip over

The website made this place look cute and quaint with little cottages, except we were not placed in a cottage. Everything was falling apart. Can’t close the blinds. Booking site said continental breakfast but there isn’t one. “Murder cabin chic”. Smelled like weed constantly in our room- we don’t smoke.

I got the message suite room because I wanted to get in the bath tub. It was tiny I could hardly cover my body in the water. The room was old and not very clean. The bed sheets had red lint balls on them. Everything was cracked and old looking. The room was overpriced for what u get

This tiny little room was not worth $100.00 a night. It was old and run down. One electrical outlet doesn't meet the needs of today's travelers. The venetian blinds need to be replaced, they are old and decrepit. The carpeting needs to be replaced, it is old and dirty. The tiny little window air conditioner is inadequate. The only positive thing I can say, it that it had a good bed and it was clean.

We checked in early but our room was unavailable. when we returned in the evening and opened our room it was occupied by a man. No one at the front desk and no one answered our phone calls. Had to leave Nevada city and drive home. Worst motel experience of my life.

The office was unattended and took a long time for anyone to help us. Then they were unprepared and had to split our family across two rooms. The rooms smelt musty, there was left over food under the bed and in the cupboard, the room was unmaintained and didn’t feel clean. There was a spider in the shower and a dead moth in a bed. The heater was broken in one room so needed a portable bar heater which was unsafe. The exhaust fan was broken and very noisy in the bathroom. The other people in the hotel were noisy, there was a guy revving his car and cigarettes and weed could be smelt. The people next door to us could easily be heard yelling around midnight. Our children didn’t feel safe in this environment and we couldn’t wait to leave. On check out, the office was unattended once again so we left our key cards at the door.

The other people in the hotel were noisy, there was a guy revving his car and cigarettes and weed could be smelt. The people next door to us could easily be heard yelling around midnight. Our children didn’t feel safe in this environment and we couldn’t wait to leave. On check out, the office was unattended once again so we left our key cards at the door.

Tried to charge extra non-pubished fees upon check-in. Owner refused to remove waive fees, so we left without staying. This owner gave up a $400 reservation/stay over an $80 undisclosed fee. Stupid! This place appears to be a "flop house" for shady looking people.

do not stay at this property! I'll just leave the photos for you to see how disgusting this place was, and the photos that are on Hotels.com do not match the property, we paid extra to book a cottage, this was not a cottage! in the photos, it showed it had a new bathroom, kitchenette, and completely different set up for the room Layout, this room was nothing like the photos, disgusting clogged sink, dead flies, we left after checking in and when I went to return the keys to the property manager, I expressed my concern over the false advertising in the photos on Hotels.com he proceeded to yell at me call me a cheapskate and followed me to my car, screaming obscenities, as I tried to leave! I have never in my life experienced such a thing, the last thing I am in this world is a cheapskate, but when you book some thing you expect to get what you paid for, this place is a joke. Do not stay here. I'm gonna leave the photos here for you to see the condition of this property.

An older but funky place - it shows its age, and the room wasn’t ready when we arrived, but the housekeeper made it a priority and had it ready by the we returned from a local brew pub - so it worked out! Would stay again.

The location was good. Everything else sucked. People were noisy outside until 2am, the deadbolt did not work, there were no screens on the windows, and it smelled so bad that I had to leave at 6am just to breathe again.

I come to Nevada City three times a year to perform in the Gold Country World Dance Showcase, and I always stay at the Nevada City Inn. The location is very convenient to the theater, and there is a wonderful organic sandwich and smoothie shop a block down the street, called Fudenjuice. The inn and the neighborhood are always quiet, the rooms are clean, the water is hot, the beds are comfortable, and I really don't need anything else. This last visit I stayed in the Hard Rock cottage, which has a big gazebo right in front and another one on the side, and a nearby BBQ grill, very nice for enjoying a warm evening. I like to walk around the neighborhood after the show and look at the brilliant stars.

The location was great, quiet, about a mile from downtown Nevada City. The receptionist accommodated us with early check-in, extra blankets and an additional hour before check-out to finish a zoom class. Wifi and heater were fine. Rustic would be fine, but this was ratty. Stains on the walls and lamp shades, holes in the bath room curtain, stained bed sheets, someone's hair on towel, One inch space under door to let cold air in, unclean surfaces. No continental breakfast available at all, not even coffee!

If you are looking for a location to shoot a movie set in a down and out motel, this would be perfect. It’s really a shame because it could be very sweet. It’s well situated near down town, walking trails and can walk to restaurants. The cabins and grounds could be very pleasant to hang out at if they weren’t so hammered.

This is a run down hotel, that had rotted boards in and around the rooms with nails sticking up in places. There was building materials that had come off the building as well as trash on the grounds. The bathtub had not been cleaned and there were lace curtains in the bathroom. The sofa bed had papers and cereal inside, and it did not close properly. The space was efficient for a family and did sleep 6, had a small refrigerator and table and chairs. NO BREAKFAST IS PROVIDED, even if the ad says there is. This once cute property is just very tired.

This property is managed by rude guy. a) First room which was provided to us was smelling really bad with no window b) After my objection guy provided 2nd room where aircondition was not working and unable to open windows even after knowing problem office staff didnt do anything about it c) They say breakfast is included but they have stopped breakfast though on expedia still shows breakfast included d) In morning during checkout , I was doing carback . Receptionist guy thought that I banged some car behind and started behaving very rude even after explaining to him that those scratches were not because of us . Finally we got chance to talk with owner of car who said scratches on car which receptionist guy was claiming because of us were already there and not because of us if someone love dirty smell of moisture and smoke then this hotel is for you. Otherwise pls skip this hotel. We had bad experience about this property . Never ever is my recommendation

The picture online is very misleading. It is for the cottages, not the regular rooms. The room was unkept, the curtains had gaps and didn't hang correctly, the phone did not work, the covering for the fan in the bathroom was unhinged and showing a huge hole in the wall, the bed was very uncomfortable and there was NO continental breakfast as listed online.

The bed was comfortable. The management was helpful. The property is older and could use a lot of fresh paint, etc., but they're doing what they can to keep it maintained. It met our needs. One negative is that the Hotels.com website still says free breakfast. They haven't offered breakfast for 3 years... I would have brought hot chocolate and instant oatmeal if I'd known

The website made this place look cute and quaint with little cottages, except we were not placed in a cottage. Everything was falling apart. Can’t close the blinds. Booking site said continental breakfast but there isn’t one. “Murder cabin chic”. Smelled like weed constantly in our room- we don’t smoke.

The room had a strange oder, lacked a garbage can or wash cloth, and had a dirty floor. The mini fridge was broken so the door wouldn't open or close properly. The worst part was that the bathroom window wasn't frosted or covered and looked out to a work/storage space. Do not recommend, even for the low price.

Our room had been nicely remodeled and painted. Some backup came up the shower drain before and while we were there. The floors, new laminate, had not been mopped prior to our occupying the room. WIFI was not operational, and cell service was 1 to 2 bars. They didn't have replacement towels for us partway thru a 5 night stay. The queen bed was not comfortable, low quality mattress and you could feel the bed frame. TV was not functioning. Staff were nice, but we would not stay there again.

This is a place to sleep and shower, thats it. Theres no chair to sit or desk/table. No bench for opening a suitcase. No rod in the closet, just brackets with no rod for hangers--and no hangers - 2 hooks for the clothes I already had on hangers, thankfully. The soap in the shower sat on the floor, no wall mounted dispenser. The bed was not connected to the headboard so it scooted out when you sat on it to do anything like put on your shoes and if you leaned against the headboard to watch TV, the bed slowly scooted away from the wall.

My room had just been renovated so it was clean. The amenities were terrible; no table or chair in the room, all windows painted shut, air conditioning very poor, had to unplug the refrigerator in order to use the coffee machine, refrigerator froze all my food making salads, my mainstay, ruined, the plastic key didn't work more times than it worked, thus requiring a trip to the office, nothing but decaf coffee available in the pouches, and the TV didn't work. Although the staff was pleasant they were pretty cavalier about my complaints. I had no other choice but to stay there because of the 4th of July, but I would never do so again.
