Much lower quality than advertised. Does not match the pictures. Everything is old and falling apart. A/C does not work. Toilet and shower were not in good condition. The door had a 1-inch gap all around it, giving easy access to pests. The parking lot is undriveable due to tree roots raising the concrete a foot. Overall quality was surprisingly bad for a hotel that looks decent online.

Photos are misleading, we stayed in the Queen Bed lodge and only this and the reception images are applicable. It was a simple typical motel style, chair & table, TV, bed and bathroom, no extra space and breakfast was not laid out like shown, instead bagels, toaster, some hot & cold drinks in reception was breakfast which you take back to your room. Watch out if you drive to the other side of the road, there are tree roots lifting the brick weave and it is not marked, only when you drive over and hear crunch noise, do you notice the lack of clearance in a car. Otherwise perfect location, 5-10 min walk down the road to restaurants, longer walk or short drive to the coast to watch the sea otters or sunset. Parking for the room just outside no no dragging bags we had at some other places.

Checking in, my room's refrigerator temperature knob was broken off. I went to the front desk, and she said she'd send over maintenance. Maintenance never came. I went back & told her I was in hurry, if they could just switch me to a different room. She didn't want to, until someone, I assume was her supervisor, ok'd the move. The woman seemed irritated, and I have NEVER been treated poorly there at all before. The rooms need to be cleaned better. Cobwebs on the rafters on ceiling, mold in the grout on the shower. The refrigerators do not get cold enough, probably time to replace them. Floor was dirty. Balconies were filty. I asked for a late checkout, yet the maid knocked on my door to clean even before regular checkout time occurred. This is my favorite place to stay in Pacific Grove and it was disappointing. I'm hoping they will take care of these issues next time I stay there.

We had crawling insects in our room. Front desk clerk at checkout said Pest Control told them the time of the year contributed and they only come every 15 days (clerk was totally unconcerned). Coffee maker in room broken. Went to breakfast area which was not open yet (15 minutes early) knocked on door employee came tried to explain he shrugged his shoulders, mumbled something and walked away. At checkout told the clerk and his response was housekeeping knew AND said they were out of replacement coffee makers. PITIFUL and BAD responses.

Rooms look to be in need of not just upgrading but in need of basic maintenance. Windows are falling apart, could not open due to wood framing splitting apart. No screens on most windows. One window with screen was torn. Coffee pot was old and missing parts. Outdoors, driveways are in need of restoring. My front end of car scrapped and hit lump on roadway in front of building in property. Trees are uprooted causing uneven driveway conditions. Pricing high considering the condition of buildings. Overall would not stay here again if other hotels were available. And actually this was the case this time as hotels were pretty much booked for this weekend.
