Asilomar Conference Grounds

Detta boende har passerat sina glansdagar. Trots sitt underbara läge och potential är denna anläggning nu delvis förfallen. Vårt rum låg i en länga där färgen flagnade, och mattorna utanför var trasiga. Rummet hade fuktfläckar på väggarna och handfatet var det stopp i. Ingen tv, ingen frukost, ingen AC.

This place is a mixed bag. Location is great and grounds are beautiful. Front desk staff also great. Condition of the rooms was not so good. First room had a broken window screen (no air conditioning, so the window needs to open). Also had a gap in the door bottom a rat could get through. Staff responded immediately when we complained and upgraded us to a room with a fireplace/balcony. This one was also in need of maintenance. The door to the balcony had a track so caked with dirt that it took two of us to open it. Woodwork scratched and stained. Got in the shower to discover no soap in the dispenser. We were afraid to light the fireplace, wondering if the flue would be blocked with something. This place could be great with some basic maintenance.

The landscape on and around the grounds was amazing. We loved the cozy fireplace and lovely large window and balcony. We would have appreciated a coffeemaker and a tv.

Was a complete disaster…super disappointing and super disgusting

It’s our first time staying at this place and it’s a welcome surprise. The place felt like a vintage glamping spot. A place to get active and unplug. There’s no tv in the rooms or a hair dryer but there’s wifi and the room is clean and bathroom fixtures are old but is working. We were assigned rooms in separate houses. The rooms are spacious and have a 70’s vibe. There’s a common area with a big refrigerator, microwave and board games. The grounds invite you to hike since a big property and the beach is accessible nearby. Our stay includes breakfast with standard selections but a big serving. Overall I enjoyed it and think of coming back soon.
