Clarion Inn Near China Lake Naval Station

This is old facility, strong bad smell in room, even ventilation did not help. I could not sleep most of the night secondary to horrible smell. Pool is not heated, gym is a joke. Positive - comfortable bed, cooked breakfast, air-condition worked very well. Location - closed to military base. Ridgecrest is closed to many interesting sites.

I specifically went for the hot tub which was not working . Was told that it was before I booked. Just disappointed

Like that the bedroom was clean, the tub & sink were clean, the toilet not so much. The baseboards throughout & the back of the bathroom door weren't cleaned recently. (It is in the desert :) Beds were too soft for our taste, but linens were clean. Front desk - welcoming & efficient. Housekeeping staff very friendly. Gave us extra towels, because we used the lovely pool & hadn't brought beach towels. Quiet place to stay. I think the restaurant in the same building was called Casey's, food was really good, staff very friendly, restaurant was very clean! Reasonably priced. Would recommend to fellow travelers for a short stay.

There are many choices for motels in Ridgecrest so when we had to pack up our camping site at Red Rock Canyon State Park in a wind emergency and find a place to stay on short notice while sitting on the side of Hwy 14, we had to decide quickly based on reviews & price. If you're willing to pay over $200 per night, there are probably very reliable places to stay. For under $200 per night, this is probably your best option. The breakfast is so good that after 9am it becomes a public restaurant and the local seniors and others flock to it. The pool & spa are well maintained. In general, it was a very nice campus. The check-in clerk referred us to Albertaco's for a late night bite and he was spot on. Another place to check out is the Ven restaurant near HD. And don't forget the Red Rock Books, a gem in the desert.

Like: room was clean and comfortable, breakfast was good and the staff was friendly, location. Did not like: the property all around need some TLC, they advertise the pool and the jacuzzi but the pool was dirty and the water was very cold to get in, the jacuzzi has some areas where the surface is peeling and the water was a little to hot to enjoy, the locks at the pool enclosure don't work a clear safety violation, the subfloor on the 2nd floor walkway between rooms 118 and 132 is soft it feels like you may go through the floor on some spots and the top coat is peeling creating a walking hazard, transient people roaming to the property looking into cars and in trash cans collecting stuff

for the price it was average. but it has a lot of competitors in the area. the pool was operational, but the heater didn't work so the water was freezing! But it does have its own sports bar and two restaurants.

I liked the gym and jacuzzi, clean room and friendly staff. We had an issue with noisy neighbors but were able to get another room that was quiet.

Nothing fancy...but reasonable prices...has a great pool area...

The staff were very helpful and kind, welcoming, and prompt. That's the good part. But... Our stay had quite a few issues. Our keycards kept needing to be reset; once when we were in towels after using the jacuzzi outside, and two other times, for a three night stay. And we were the furthest away possible from the office, the far building on the opposite side. The room had terrible lighting and the bathroom fan sounded like it was about to fall out of the ceiling. The refrigerator only worked as a freezer; if you turned the cooling down it just defrosted the small "freezer" section and dripped everywhere. So all of our drinks were frozen. The bed was comfortable, but the comforter was short, we could only pull it up to our mid-torso. The room desperately needed a deep clean. There was what looked like blood on one wall, and smudges of dirt and guck on others, and accumulated dust and dirt on all the baseboards in the bathroom. Lastly, the television was possessed. It only worked on 3 channels, and would randomly pause, glitch, or just shut off. The same happened when we logged into our Netflix; it would pick a spot and pause for 30 seconds, then fast forward to catch back up. All together it made relaxing very difficult, which was needed on a bereavement trip. The free breakfast was fine, although not many options if you have dietary restrictions or allergies.

Check in great . I had to ask for room to be cleaned maids never showed up and I ask for extra towels. Walked property in the morning for a morning walk and walkways sticky and filthy all over. My neighbor staying for construction in the area and their trucks loud and backed in and their exhaust was going right in air conditioning and they were loud as hell. Place needs a update.

Check-in was simple, room was spacious, and having a restaurant on the premises was convenient. However, there was not enough towels in the room. More importantly of concern, their linens had stains; a pillow case had a dark stain, the towels had blood/mud stains, and the comforter had a nickel size dark stain that appeared to be blood. These stains were addressed with hotel staff and clean linens were provided upon my request. Overall, it was a nice place to stay at, but their linens need to be addressed and improved!

The first time i stayed was about 5 months beforethis last stay im not sure what changed in such a short time but the first stay was great perfectly maintained room and the last stay was completely opposite bugs in the room bathroom vent not working and the room mainly the walls and floor were disgusting the toilets didnt flush well and bedding was in bad shape please be aware to check the roomnas soonbas you can

My specific room - The door lock was broken. The TV has such terrible burn in from the menu screen I couldn't watch it, and the water wouldn't get any hotter than lukewarm. All the rooms have paper thins walls. I was able to hear my neighbors entire conversation with his wife. Overall, this was a pretty miserable stay.

It's a fine place to stay for the value. Just older, very worn and no way up to date with electronics like USB plugs.

The walls were thin and was not well insulated around door. I was enjoying family time and watching a movie and service associate came to do and said it was loud coming from our room. Did not be specific on what the noise was. Tv had to be loud could not hear on low volume. He blamed noise in kids. Need to understand there is going to be noise when family is on vacation and enjoying family time watching television and playing a family game.

Great stay, but the tv didn’t work. Someone tried to fix it but it couldn’t be fixed… no recourse… oh well

Room was nice and spacious. Huge bed which was surprisingly comfortable...however pillows were awful. Shower was the absolute worse.. barely warm enough and that was on max heat. Fridge was also very noisy... but room was nice and staff were really nice.

A/C very noisy and had to turn off to sleep. Bed mattress not comfortable. Pool lounge chairs torn/ripped and in need of replacement. Nice breakfast and reception area and rooms were clean.

There was no cold water in the room. It was warm or hot. The room had just been renovated, upgraded. Even the toilet bowl had warm water! The staff was informed.

My main issue was that there was no hot water. I was there doing a work assignment out in the desert. My coworker in a different room also had no hot water. There were minor annoyances like the inability to adjust the volume of the TV (maybe I could not figure out how to work the remote?), single-ply toilet paper, generally old "tired" furniture, and a very basic/bland breakfast offering at the "restaurant" next door. On the plus side, the bed was comfortable and the AC unit fan was very good at making "white noise" for sleeping.

Bring your iPad or something to read. The TV does not work! They told us at the front desk that not all rooms had TV service but it was just really too bad they could not do anything about it. So... if you are looking for a place to unwind and watch TV, this is not the place. Otherwise the hotel is nice enough, bed is comfortable, room is quiet (very quiet), and breakfast was okay.

Our door lock was broken — keys would not work. Every day the key card had to be reset or an attendant would have to open door for us after repeated requests for it to be fixed. Several guests reported same issue!!! I tried to get refund through Expedia for our early departure and hotel manager kept hanging up on the Expedia service rep. She said would waive the refund and cancelation fees to me but didn’t in the end. I will not stay there again and would not recommend

Staff was super nice. Kept have issues with my TV, they responded immediately to try and fix the issue. Room was clean and comfortable.

This is a quick stop need to rest place, with breakfast. The room was pretty much clean and neat. However the walls had weird holes in them and weird paint patches. Also the doora weather stripping needs to be repalced, you can awkwardly see through to the outside. The AC was great, the TV gudie doesnt work, kitchenette applicanaces were fine. Breakfast is at the restaurant and its ok. We had eggs, sausage, potatoes, and waffles. They had fresh individual milk for cereal. Standard pastries, muffins and toast. No hot ceral but you could order it at the restaurant. Good coffee creamers. Standard juices. The ladies made it clear you couldnt take any food back to your room, so that was inconvenient for us but maybe not to others. When we checked in, the host was blasting music and appeared to be on a date with a girl on the couch. I didnt care until i realized he was trying to rush us out and didnt give us any direction or basic assistance about our room, wifi, where breakfast would be located or anything. The worsr part were the visible mouse traps in the hall way. I didnt see these until check out.

He was very rude to me. I have been there plenty of times he’s not a manager. He refused to get the manager try to charge me $100 deposit because I live in town and I already made a reservation online with the last of my money and still would not let me read room there and I’ve been there so many times it was ridiculous. He would not let me and I’ve never had any trouble.

I had to stay an extra night due to the weather and the front desk was very accommodating. I never had to check out or leave my room until they called me to come sign paperwork for the extra night. it was very helpful. Breakfast was decent as they actually cook eggs properly.

Very friendly staff, seamless checkin and checkout experience. Very helpful and attentionate staff also around the pool. The infrastructure is in good condition and everything work well. Bed on the soft side, but still comfortable. TV system on the other hand is very sluggish, and could do with an upgrade (like a chrome cast or sth similar).

We thought eewould try this hotel sinceit had a restaurant on site for d8nner and breakfast..Big Mistake...We had to be moved in the middle of the night (after midnight) due to rowdy room next door. Was told the restaurant would be open for dinner even though there was a Christmas party going on in the dining room. They drug a diner table from the back and put us in a corner (not very comfortable for the $145 dinner bill). There was no cook to order breakfest in the morning as the cafe was closed even though they told us about it the night before and assured us it also would be open. The 1st room had broken and loose floor boards in the threshold between the room and bathroom and the 2nd rooms bed was broken down and sagging, the toilet ran all night and the staff just didnt seem to care...dismissed us with a "yeah sorry" hotel policy wont let us do this or they must not have known, but have a nice day" We come to this town several times through the year to visit our daughter & Granddaughter we will spend the extra $30 and go back to the Hampton Inn where we have always had steller service.

Was visiting for a birthday party nearby. I stayed here before and really enjoyed the pool and free breakfast. I will make this my staple when visiting again. Only was disappointed when the bar was closed on Sunday. This is really close to the CA welcome center. Try out the VR experience of Death Valley if you can!

Great location. Close to shopping, restaurants and a park. Pet friendly and good food on site.

Great little hotel for our one night stay on the way to Death Valley. Kind staff. Great value for the price.

The room is comfortable and easy to access. The hotel is in a safe area and the staff is very nice and friendly. Checkin was very easy. The bed is a little "tired". The bathtub dripped and took a very long time to drain, so was annoying all night. Breakfast was nice enough and filling.

Nice hotel in great location. Parking an issue with a full size truck, Avis uses a lot of parking slots and a tight parking to begin with.

Staff was amazing very helpful and friendly. Pool and hot tub had a lot of stuff floating on top. I would have liked to have gotten dinner in the restaurant but they close at 2pm. I prefer to eat in my room and the bar did not have takeout. I had to go elsewhere to eat except for breakfast which was fine. Overall It was nice.

The breakfast took over 30 minutes for scrambled eggs and was ice cold. There was only 4 other people waiting for breakfast at the time.

no cold water!! old beds!! noisy A/C cheap breakfast, rubber sausages, soggy eggs, bread even had fungus growing on it.

While checking in I was told the restaurant would close at 9:30pm and when I went for dinner they were closed at 8:30.

Stayed there 15-20 times over last 10 years. Going downhill Room looked alright, but door wouldn’t close easily, bed was awful with big valley in the middle. Bathtub drain cap just sitting loose. Air conditioning unit very loud. Breakfast, with limited menu, used to set Clarion apart from others. A deal maker when choosing lodging. Post covid change to buffet at first was nice but watery eggs and other basic choices are the level to which it has deteriorated.

A little bit older hotel but still in good shape. Convenient breakfast in the morning with a good choice of food. That was a plus since it started at 6. I'd stay there again.
