Not worth the cost per stay I was expecting a lot more considering the room rate. Majority of the front desk staff were rude and made us feel very unwelcome. Me and my wife didn’t get any info about the hotel, the room was very small the bathroom is tiny and had mold, coffee maker was sticky. The pool was unavailable for use due to a private event Saturday and Sunday no one told us this in advance I would have reconsidered the booking will not being staying again and will more than likely avoid Andaz properties in the future

I was a bit disappointed to learn upon check in that there was a "pool party" going on at the hotel. I only picked this property due to the pool and proximity to Gaslamp. I wanted to unwind after a long day of moving my son into his apartment and ended up having to share a pool area with a ton of young adults and a loud DJ. There were no seats at the pool but we were able to sit at the bar to get a drink. The hotel was very loud at night, so much so that they have ear plugs and white noise machine on the night stand. I\'ll think twice about staying here again.

Was SHOCKED to discover the $65/day parking fee (Valet only - more on this later) and the $40/day Resort Fee (I shouldn't be shocked at this shameless industry-wide tactic). Hotel was grossly understaffed with the front desk agent parking our car, schlepping our luggage as well as checking us in. Valet parking was unexplainably expensive with ONE valet attendant having to drop off and fetch your car from some distant car parking lot. A number is provided to call for your car, but twice it went to voice mail that was not even set up. The wait to get your car was in our case about 45 minutes and we missed an important business meeting as a result. The room was equipped with a white noise machine and earplugs (I can only guess why, but then we didn't stay over a weekend). Finally, the hot water in the shower was a mystery. In addition to having very low water pressure, the time it took for hot water to get to the room was annoying - as well as figuring out (finally) that in order to get hot water at all, you needed to turn the handle 2/3rds of the way to the red dot. Coffee in the lobby was luke warm with coffee grounds in it. On the positive side, the room was nice, clean, bright and modern - and right in the middle of the famous Gaslamp District. We will not be staying here again.

Great stay other than the pool area being closed on 1 of our 2 days for a private function meaning we had to vacate by 4pm and couldn’t use the bar for food and drinks without having to order them through room service. Great location in the Gaslamp District. Easy access to tons of amazing shops, restaurants and bars. Museums, parks and zoos nearby as well as Petco stadium. Service was top notch and I loved the rooftop pool. One of the best places I’ve stayed at recently!!

Place is great and super staff. The noise outside was terrible, though. You can hear EVERYTHING all night long! It was Friday so there were people screaming in the street coming out of bars and so many sirens! Definitely not going back to that location

There was no help with luggage at all, the room had a view of the wall next door, and the worst part was that between the bathroom and the room, there was a glass wall with zero privacy. Even if I were on the trip with my significant other, I would be extremely uncomfortable. My friend and I ended up using the bathroom in the lobby. When we expressed our discomfort to the concierge, they explained to us that they were fully committed but did not offer any compensation or resolution for the awful discomfort of a very expensive room.

Very convenient. Rooftop bar was fun. Only negatives is we couldn’t check in earlier than 4pm and then even after 4pm we had to check with the desk to get our room because the text that is was ready “didn’t go through”. Also it was discovered late at night after we got home that our AC in the room didn’t work. Staff was very friendly and accommodating

Not worth the cost per stay I was expecting a lot more considering the room rate. Majority of the front desk staff were rude and made us feel very unwelcome. Me and my wife didn’t get any info about the hotel, the room was very small the bathroom is tiny and had mold, coffee maker was sticky. Good location and there are some good breakfast cafes nearby. And I left my child’s a stuffed animal after check out. My son was very frustrated and depressed. But they kept it and sent it back home. Thanks a lot for your service!

Great location in the Gaslamp District. Easy access to tons of amazing shops, restaurants and bars. Museums, parks and zoos nearby as well as Petco stadium. Service was top notch and I loved the rooftop pool. One of the best places I’ve stayed at recently!!

Staff was great, rooftop was nice with good vibes. Room was nice except the AC wasn’t working well the first night and the hallway was stuffy and had a smell. Over all the hotel was good and I’d go back again. I was surprised to see the amount of homelessness around the area and the streets were dirty. They kept it off the block but it was 1 block either direction. I felt safe at the property itself. Staff was wonderful and helpful!!

We arrived prior to the official check-in time and were told there is a room available. It’s not an upgrade, but for $50 you can have that room early. I found this to be a very tacky policy to extract money from a guest. I’m not sure if this policy extends beyond this Andaz to other or all Hyatt properties but it was a real turnoff.

The Andaz San Diego was great! It was perfectly located to do all of the must-do's in San Diego, and it was a really nice property with helpful staff. The first room we had was above STK, which was a bit too loud for us traveling with a toddler, but they were great about moving us, and the new room was great. We'll stay there again and would recommend it to anyone going to San Diego!

This hotel was very clean but weirdly dusty. Take a right outside the hotel and you have a bunch of awesome restaurants and clubs. Take a left and there are blocks of homeless people (it was very sad to see).

The rooftop staff offered amazing breakfast service. And I had a great experience inside the hotel. The room service staff were also great. However, the un-sheltered situation around downtown San Diego is unacceptable. The area around the hotel (the surrounding streets) does not look sanitary and does not feel safe to walk around. Please be mindful when walking on foot in this area.

Great stay other than the pool area being closed on 1 of our 2 days for a private function meaning we had to vacate by 4pm and couldn’t use the bar for food and drinks without having to order them through room service. Ian at reception offered a bar credit as means of apology and Emily at the pool bar done what she could to help

Inside the hotel was ok. Good staff. But It's located in a ghetto area. Lot's of homeless and drug addicts. Trash everywhere. Human feces on the sidewalks. I would never recommend this hotel to my family and friends. There was brawl fight in the middle of the intersection next to the hotel. Overnight parking valet was expensive. Not worth it.

The room was really nice and well maintained. There was an unusual odor on the entire 6th floor however. Large homeless encampments were one block over on 7th street, but where the hotel was located, none were on or in front of the property. Staff were very pleasant and room was cleaned daily without having to ask. Good television reception. Ice was bagged and there was plenty of it. Multiple outlets by the bed and near the desk area. Water was hot quickly. Sofa was comfortable.

Outside is very deceiving with a lot of homeless around, but once you’re inside the hotel is so nice. It’s clean and smells great. The pool is small and very little seating. More like extremely limited seating. But the atmosphere is fun. Fitness room is great! Staff was nice and they allowed a late check out. Parking isn’t great at all. It’s either find your own parking in a garage space somewhere and walk back to the hotel or pay $70 for valet during your stay. We only stayed one night, $70 is overpriced. But overall it was a good experience
