We really enjoyed the hotel overall and the spacious room, unfortunately the air conditioning was broken they attempted to service it the day we were out and it was unsuccessful, and the hotel was fully booked so moving rooms wasn’t an option. The pool was dirty (the vacuum wasn’t set up to run) there was a layer of dirt on the bottom of the pool and the jacuzzi was out of service.

Hotel is being remodeled and the rooms they are keeping in service are in bad shape. Missing handles and latches. Carpet is filthy and sticky. Linens had stains and holes. Pool and jacuzzi were not in working order. Ironic that we were warned at check in against removing anything from the room - that would have been an improvement.

My friend and I got a couple rooms for the weekend. We found some rotten pieces of an apple on the A/C unit in one of the rooms and thought "it's wtvr, this is just gonna be one of 'those' hotel stays". But as the night progressed we noticed a hole in the wall, burn marks on the blankets, and thennnn we spotted a bunch of roaches. After killing the roaches so the kids could calm down, I moved the upholstered chair in the corner of the room and found some decomposed stuff stuck to the carpet. Still not sure what it was but I threw it away. It was late at night, but staying in that room wasn't tolerable so we requested another room. The night-time counter clerk was sympathetic and nice, and provided new room cards quickly. We found rotten food in the new room as well... What the actual heck, guys. Pay your cleaning people better and maybe they'll care. The hot tub was out of service and the pool had what looked like a bunch of leaves and dirt in it. Won't be staying at this place again.

pool & jacuzzi were not cleaned and jacuzzi was not working. So if your wanting that, dont book this place its gross and jacuzzi doesnt turn on and employees dont know how to work it. The free breakfast is a joke, the coffee machines in both rooms we were put in were disgusting. Do not use.The first room we stayed in was 3301 in the building behind across the street. we did check out room when we got there, Due to bad reviews & we saw that 2 of the lamps in the room didnt have any light bulbs and they didn't work once we put one in.The wall in the hallway & bathroom had boogers and blood smeared from a kids height it appeared, so clearly the maids were not cleaning the rooms very well. The tissue box appeared like they stuffed used tissues that were taken out, back into the box. So that went right in the trash. The carpet looked dirty and comforters on bed were questionable. I took photos of everything, at night we went to shower after kids were asleep and realized the bathroom had mold covering 75% of the ceiling, which we didnt see earlier but was to late to switch so we stayed in the room and shut the bathroom door for safety so our kids werent as exposed to the mold. Next morning we asked to switch & complained about it and the desk manager asked us to come back after 930am to tell the main manager so he had to deal with it, then by that night they had put another family in the 3301 room, whilewe were in 3304. Smh Dnt reccomend save ur time & book elsewhere! Refund please

My room was so hot that I tried using the air and it didn't work. The bathroom fan didn't work. The pool was dirty and unkept. The staff was was in their own words just employees that work once a week. I will never recommend this place or Expedia if they are contracted with them. Horrible stay

The property has 3 buildings, with elevators available in the main building. This was helpful aa we were bicycle touring. There was a cute covered patio area outside the main building, but it was hard to enjoy as it seemed dirty and the trash bins were full.

Staff were great. Swimming pool needs cleaning. Hot Tub was not working. Cable was out for 2 days so no TV. Excellent location and easy free parking.

Wowza, where do I start? I’m not generally one to write reviews as I typically just don’t return to places if I’m not fond of them. For this, I’m going out of my way to help future guests steer clear. This place is a literal hazard. I can’t say I’m totally shocked given the price… but I’ve never stayed in a hotel, Inn or motel worse than this. The front desk person was nice and helpful, no complaints there. Once I made it into my room, I noticed the EXTREME staining on the carpet. I set my bags on one of the two beds before I noticed the glitter and crusty stains on the blankets. I’m not talking - washed but wont come out stains - I’m talking thick fluids that dried into a crust and haven’t been washed at all stains. To the point of near gagging, I stripped the comforter to inspect sheets. Big surprise, more stains and full of hairs. I called several hotels nearby but was unsuccessful in finding another room in the middle of the night on such short notice. I went back to inspect the bed again, and thats when I saw a roach - a literal COCKROACH - on the wall. On top of that, the panel for the AC unit was destroyed and not at all in a functional state, several of the lamps were having issues, the ‘furniture’ is dingy, falling apart, and missing pieces, there was a questionable odor, towels were dirty, shower had not been cleaned, the complementary shampoos were used, and the shower caulking was moldy and gross. Absolutely will not stay again, and I’d advise you don’t either.

Room had ants, hand towels and bathmat had stains, bed spread had crusty material on top. AC and internet worked. Asked front desk if there was an ant trap or something, he said no but he would upgrade me to another room instead. New room had stained towels and hair on the bathroom floor. AC unit did not function same way as in other room, I wasnt sure whether it was broken or user error. First room had instructions, this one did not. Knobs had been pulled off the actual unit so it looked possibly broken. I opened the window because I did not want to deal with figuring out the AC because I was so tired from my drive and had a big work event in the morning. But there was a huge slash through the screen and I didnt want bugs to get in. So called the front desk. The phone had no dial tone, but the cord was there so I plugged it back into wall). Front desk man quickly ran through the instructions. I tried it and it did not work. I asked if there were written instructions so I could try it a few times. He interrupted to say they anything like that. I tried to speak again multiple times and he interrupted me to go on about how he would not be able to move me again because they were sold out. I said I didn't want to move, I'm pretty good with tech so even if you have an old booklet on the unit I could try figure it out myself. He said, "I appreciate that you think youre pretty good at tech but youre not going to be able to fix our AC tonight." Internet did not work whatsoever.

Only giving this a 1 star because I can’t give 0! My family and I decided on a last minute beach trip, I found this hotel for just under $200, the pictures looked decent so we figured we’d just stay the night. We don’t usually spend much time in the room, besides sleeping. It’s an older, run down hotel so we weren’t expecting much, but it was DISGUSTING. We walked into the room and were immediately hit with a stench. The floors were stained, our bed had not been made. There was trash in the trash cans, cups full of liquid on the nightstands. The air conditioner didn’t work, the tv wouldn’t turn on. I called hotels.com to request a refund so that we could go stay somewhere else, but the manager wasn’t going to be in until the morning and did not care to make things right. The front desk attendant said he could give us a different room, fine. We walked in, it was a bigger room, and a little bit cleaner but not by much. The air conditioning still did not work, so the room was hot and stuffy, the tv wouldn’t not turn on, the shower drain was clogged and there was mold and rust in the shower. We wanted to at least get in the hot tub but the water was green. The floors were cover in stains, we found a tongue ring and TOE NAIL clippings on the ground by our bed, food on the floor the furniture was broken, the railing on our balcony had missing screws and was barley hanging on, being on the third floor with my toddler was horrible. I expect a refund based on this ridiculous place.

My family and I decided on a last minute beach trip, I found this hotel for just under $200, the pictures looked decent so we figured we’d just stay the night. We don’t usually spend much time in the room, besides sleeping. It’s an older, run down hotel so we weren’t expecting much, but it was DISGUSTING. We walked into the room and were immediately hit with a stench. The floors were stained, our bed had not been made. There was trash in the trash cans, cups full of liquid on the nightstands. The air conditioner didn’t work, the tv wouldn’t turn on. I called hotels.com to request a refund so that we could go stay somewhere else, but the manager wasn’t going to be in until the morning and did not care to make things right. The front desk attendant said he could give us a different room, fine. We walked in, it was a bigger room, and a little bit cleaner but not by much. The air conditioning still did not work, so the room was hot and stuffy, the tv wouldn’t not turn on, the shower drain was clogged and there was mold and rust in the shower. We wanted to at least get in the hot tub but the water was green. The floors were cover in stains, we found a tongue ring and TOE NAIL clippings on the ground by our bed, food on the floor the furniture was broken, the railing on our balcony had missing screws and was barley hanging on, being on the third floor with my toddler was horrible. I expect a refund based on this ridiculous place.

The front desk person was very apologetic and tried getting us another room but even he wasn’t able to get 2 other rooms to open up (the doors were broken). At that point we just decided to get a refund.

Don't be fooled by the pictures of the Lamplighter Inn! The room was dirty. The carpet was old and stained. There was hair and mold in the bathroom. There was no handle to close the shower door and it would not close all the way. The electrical outlet was so worn out that my phone charger could not stay plugged in. We went to get coffee in the morning at a local coffee spot and upon returning our keys would not open the room. We had to go to the office at 7:00 am to get the keys recharged and were hasseled for ID. It would have been better to sleep in the car.

The room was clean. Unfortunately all of the knobs/dials were missing off the a/c unit and it was impossible to control the room temperature. There was a safe in the room but it was not working. This is an older hotel which appears to need a lot of work. We would probably not stay here again.

The worse part was having no wifi. The network was so weak, it didn't even appear as an option. The landline didn't work and they couldn't get anyone to fix it. The person at the desk was apologetic and wanted to offer some sort of discount for this basic problem, but she said she couldn't help because I'd booked through a 3rd party. The whole room looked like they'd slapped a coat of paint on an old property and hoped for the best. If the price of the room had been less than half what it was, it all would have been ok. But because it was Labor Day weekend, the price was insanely high for the condition of everything.

Staff manager was very rude and seemed suspicious of being on some sort of illegal substance due to the behavior and rudeness and lack of accomodation and especially saying as soon as me an my spouse walks in the front door he immediately says we don't accommodate that here. Upon arrival, we experienced a significant delay at check-in. While the front desk staff member was polite, he appeared to be working alone, overwhelmed, and facing technical issues. We waited approximately 20 minutes while he assisted other guests, then experienced similar delays during our own check-in. pool & jacuzzi were not cleaned and jacuzzi was not working. So if your wanting that, dont book this place its gross and jacuzzi doesnt turn on and employees dont know how to work it. The free breakfast is a joke, the coffee machines in both rooms we were put in were disgusting. Do not use.The first room we stayed in was 3301 in the building behind across the street. we did check out room when we got there, Due to bad reviews & we saw that 2 of the lamps in the room didnt have any light bulbs and they didn't work once we put one in.The wall in the hallway & bathroom had boogers and blood smeared from a kids height it appeared, so clearly the maids were not cleaning the rooms very well. The tissue box appeared like they stuffed used tissues that were taken out, back into the box. So that went right in the trash. The carpet looked dirty and comforters on bed were questionable. I took photos of everything, at night we went to shower after kids were asleep and realized the bathroom had mold covering 75% of the ceiling, which we didnt see earlier but was to late to switch so we stayed in the room and shut the bathroom door for safety so our kids werent as exposed to the mold. Next morning we asked to switch & complained about it and the desk manager asked us to come back after 930am to tell the main manager so he had to deal with it, then by that night they had put another family in the 3301 room, whilewe were in 3304. Smh Dnt reccomend save ur time & book elsewhere! Refund please

I understand this is not an expensive 5-star hotel. Still- our room had ants and the desk clerk did move us to a new room, but within a couple of hours this room had an ant trail in the bathroom. The hotel advertises “breakfast included”. this consisted of a tray of packaged small muffins and cookies of some kind in the lobby and the eating space was closed. My daughter and I are gluten-free and so couldn’t even eat the little bit offered. Not quite what I had in mind for a place that was including breakfast. We had to eat out each morning, a cost of $40-$50 at local restaurants I didn’t expect to spend for this trip. The rooms all overlook the pool and there was therefore no way away from the noise. This was the last stop on a 10 day road trip, and the worst stop in the group. When we checked in we were giving a room. When we got to the room we discovered there was other luggage in the room. I called the front desk, agreed to take the luggage to the front desk and inquired about breakfast time. 2 hours later the previous occupants tried to get in the room. I called the front desk and was told, "what do you want me to do about it" I asked the previous occupants to go to the front desk. In the morning we went to get breakfast, to be told they don't do breakfast. While packing up, we found items that were not ours in between the bed sheets. Tried to reach out to the property through this sire and an email, to no response.

Rooms were clean, but somewhat rundown. Some peeling paint in bathroom and mold beginning in a few areas of the tub caulk. No beverage cooler. Safe was locked and staff didn’t know how to open it. Said they were going to remove safes because they were too bothersome. Breakfast was minimal; prepackaged breads and coffee.

My room at the Lamplighter Inn was clean and in good condition, and when I booked it the very best price in town. It had a pleasant staff, fridge, and a pretty view of "Mount Madonna" peak. So 5 stars for that. But I deducted a star because it didn't have a microwave (they said it had probably been stolen, but they heated up my stuff downstairs). And the hot tub, which was featured in the very first photo on the ad, and one of the reasons I chose the hotel, was out of order (they said the had just gotten it repaired, but then it broke down again). Those things will probably be fixed, I hope. A HORRIBLE loud gas-powered leafblower destroyed the peace calm of guests and neighbors in the morning. A light breakfast of coffee and cellophane-wrapped local Edna Bakery pastries was included (but no fruit or yogurt). I'd stay there again.

I had picked this hotel because it had a pool and a hot tub. After a weekend camping, I was looking forward to a nice hot soak. The hot tub was COLD, the jets didn't work, the chair for handicapped people (didn't need it) had a plastic seat that was deteriorating. The pool was freezing. The elevator was slow, and the carpet in front of the elevator and the hallways just looked dark, dingy, and dirty. We couldn't turn the A/C lower than 70F. So it was stuffy, and we had to open a window. Which could have been fine except there was a huge gash in the screen about a foot long to let bugs in. So we got to sleep with the window open, listening to car noises all night and trash truck noises in the morning. The bed was comfortable enough, with tiny pillows, and the bathroom large enough but it had problems as well. The iron bathtub had rust spots in it, and the shower curtain rod was dipped at an angle that the curtain kept sliding down and uncovering either end. (Letting the bathroom get wet.) There was no Kleenex, other than TP, and the mini coffee maker in the room had 4 DECAF pods. The breakfast room was closed, but they had good coffee in the lobby with some muffins. So that was fine. We were upgraded from a Queen to a King, and was nice, except the room was bad. Parking was good. Location nice, a GOOD pizza joint within crawling distance. (Benny's). The room had a safe and a large mini-fridge. Only a 2* hotel so expect that, and nothing more.
