This was our first visit to Santa Barbara. Apparently there are no big hotel chains in the wharf - downtown area. We chose the Brisas not really knowing what to expect, but it turned out to be a wonderful weekend stay. Our room was clean and comfortable, and MOST IMPORTANTLY--the MOST comfortable bed we have ever slept on in a hotel room, ever! The mattresses are plushy, the bedding is soft and comfortable, and the pillows are not crappy down pillows--they stay fluffed all night. Aside from the amazing beds, the hotel itself was lovely too. Happy hour with free wine and cheese every afternoon, a complimentary continental breakfast (the frittata with a bit of salsa was terrific), and a very friendly front desk staff who had a printout of my reservation ready to go as soon as I arrived. I think check-in might have been 30 seconds, which is way more efficient than any big hotel chain. Location was fantastic too--walking distance to the wharf and downtown. We were on a Highway 101 roadtrip and stopped in Santa Barbara for 2 nights. It was so nice to be out of the car and Brisas made our stay so much nicer. Thanks so much to this hotel!
