I stayed 3 nights and it was great. Nice lobby and dining room. Friendly staff. Great room, clean, quite with great amenities. Free parking on premises and nice outdoor swimming pool. Complimentary breakfast was good and there are many dining and shopping options. Highly recommended

JACK HAMMERING THE POOL AREA FROM 8:00 AM TILL 6:00 PM EVERY DAY. COULD NOT THINK, COULD NOT WORK FROM MY ROOM. POOL OF COURSE NOT USEABLE. I PAID FOR A POOL AND A QUIET PLACE TO STAY

No hot tub

It was located conveniently to the airport and my family. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Sadly the fitness room was closed for construction.

Real nice staff, nice location, free parking is a plus. Sadly the pool wasn’t open when we were there but that’s bc they were still waiting for the inspection. There is a nice lounge area on the upper level tho so that was nice!

On the whole, the property is lovely. The breakfast was excellent. The staff all very pleasant and helpful. Some renovations were taking place at the time of our stay. The pool was not available and there were mattresses and bed frames visible from our room. This temporarily took away from the appearance of the property.

Affordable, comfortable and in the idea location for our trip. Would stay there again. Good breakfast, pleasant staff and comfortable room. Pool is closed until 2024 for refurbishing. That’s ok, it was a bit cold for swimming anyway. Seems like they take good care of the property.

Spiders in the room and roaches throughout the property.

Very clean room and comfortable bed. LED TV is large and connects to Netflix and Youtube. Breakfast is also better than expected. Staff are all very nice too.

My stay of six days visiting family was overall very pleasant. There was a high standard of cleanliness in the room, breakfast area and outside on the grounds. The foyer was comfortable and welcoming. It was good to see minor repairs and updates being taken care of around the building. It seemed that there was a genuine desire to make it a good place to stay. Thank you !

There was a little bit of blood on 2 the pillowcases. I thought they would have the decency to change them, but they simply put them back on. I took a picture for the record, but overall might consider another place.

Breakfast was amazing. Room had a very musty smell. I wanted to open the window in the bathroom, but it was so caked with dirt I couldn’t bring myself to touch it. The rest of the room was mostly clean. Walls and ceiling are very thin. Don’t plan on sleeping much if you are a light sleeper.

Shower head was dated and needed to be fixed. Room has an extremely weird smell.

The Best Western University Inn Santa Clara is clean but dated. If you're sensitive to a strong scent, this hotel is not for you. They use an odd cleaning agent that makes the rooms smell. Our room near the elevator was pretty dark and gloomy, and they didn't service our room one day.

Room 206. Like: Property had a good structure, well lay out and airy. Plus with the recent remodeling the full room that elevated the room quality significantly. Room was spacy. Bed was comfortable. Dislike: Bed base was a sheet metal wrap around that make noise and echo noise when my feet hitting the frame. Note sure why the facility chose this material that might cause pain if guest hit it harder. Bed sheets were older and had existing stain. Bath towels were mixed of old and new. Continental breakfast had one waffle maker that takes 2.5 min. Guests lined up in queue. Adding a second maker might be best. Coffee quality could be better. Overall, I would like to grade 4.5 star for the experience.

Front desk staff do not know their product very well. They don't know where the ethernet connector was. I had to look for it and it was behind the coffee machine in the room. They also did not know how fast the connection was--they just said "its very fast". Useless information. I measured it at its is about 80Mb/s down and 60M/bs up. Its not bad and the connection was reliable although there was now instructions on how to connect. If you have asthma, ask for a room that they didn't spray with some kind of perfumey air freshener. I was almost gaging when I first entered the room. Even though all entries to each room are from the outside (no indoor corridor), it is impossible to open the windows to air the room out--windows appear to be stuck. Hot water was almost instant and you never have to worry about running out while taking a shower. It was a pretty basic hotel that servers breakfast and not a bad value for $110/night. The location was really convenient and relatively quiet too.

Place us remodeled and clean. Good price for the area. Food was good. Parking felt safe. Over all good got stay. Two down side. Squeaky bed and we were on we Camino side so a bit noisy but still slept ok.

The staff were excellent. The only negative is that it's too close to the road so it can be noisy at times during the night. Also, there is very little noise insulation from traffic and floors above.

Room was good. Clean. Shower good. Seemed a bit noisy. Could hear you word of someone’s conversation right outside my door, and there was a high-pitched sound coming from the ice machine area at times. Didn’t see a hot tub…?

The rooms are really rundown and the place is understaffed. There is no manager on duty and no one else available. The first room #4 I was the key pad on the door didn't work, after them giving me 3 different keys to try again, it only opened with the Master Key. The second room #5 they gave me the air conditioning stopped working in the middle of the night and there were no screens on the windows. It was hot, and loud and noisy without the air on. The next night I requested help with the air conditioning to see if they could show me how it works but they said they couldn't do anything about it because there was no one else but the front desk person. The night staff person was lovely but couldn't leave her post to help so she changed my room. I changed rooms ( which was a hassle) but the bathtub didn't drain. . The day staff person should not be in the hospitality business. She has an attitude and does not know how to effectively handle issues that arise. She was unkind and not helpful at all. I have asked for a refund.

Unacceptable Security & Poor Customer Service I had a terrible experience at this hotel. I checked in around 6 PM, and shortly after, my daughter and I went out for dinner. When we returned, I realized that the door to our room wasn’t locking properly, leaving our room completely accessible to anyone from the street. Concerned for our safety, I immediately informed the front desk. The response I got was that "someone would probably come to fix it," and I was told to wait inside the room. Feeling unsafe, I had to call a friend to stay with us while we waited. It took five hours—until 11 PM—for someone to finally arrive and attempt to fix the lock. At that point, I was completely exhausted, so I was relieved when it seemed like the issue was resolved. However, at 5 AM, when my friend left, I realized that the door lock was once again not working. I was supposed to check out at 11 AM, but due to the security risk and my tight schedule, I had no choice but to pack up all my belongings, load them into my car, and check out at 7 AM. I informed the front desk again, but at that point, my frustration had already peaked. This experience was completely unacceptable. A properly functioning door lock is a basic expectation at any hotel. The lack of urgency in addressing such a serious security concern left me feeling unsafe the entire night. I will not be returning to this hotel, and I would strongly advise others to think twice before staying here.

Fast check-in. Our room was impecable and cleaned daily! Staff was beyond courteous. Would definitely stay here again. 10 stars for handicapped accessibility

Our family booked a 6-night, 7-day stay at this hotel through Expedia. On the 6th day, we decided to extend for one more day and made the reservation via Expedia as well. At the front desk, we confirmed that we could stay in the same room. However, at 1 PM the next day, the hotel staff called, saying they made a mistake. The Expedia reservation was for a room with One King Bed, so we had to check out immediately. She said that Expedia sometimes automatically changes the room type without informing the reservation holder. As we had a child, staying in a room only with a King bed was not suitable for us. I contacted Expedia to cancel the reservation and called the hotel to ask if I could check out later, around 3 PM, as I had meetings outside. But the staff asked me to check out right away. I had to cancel my meetings and return to the hotel room at 2 PM. Having to handle everything alone, I rushed to pack and move the luggage multiple times up the stairs, sweating heavily. During this stressful process, the staff, Dave, continuously pressured me to leave, even though he was aware of the situation. He repeatedly asked, "Are you done?" "Still more?" "Is this the last one?" “Are you listening to me?” and threatened me with late fees. I told him that I was almost finished, but he kept pushing. I managed to finish moving all the luggage in 30 minutes. I have traveled to many hotels, but I have never encountered such unprofessional and mean-spirited hotel staffs.

This hotel has been so far the best. Nice rooms clean, very nice layout. The front desk people the kitchen staff and cleaning staff are all professionals. Fantastic customer service all of them. Definitely my Hotel for ever when i go see my 49ers play.

I stayed here for a few days and the staff were friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed my stay here and would stay here again when I come back to San Jose.

The room was quiet and comfortable. The outdoor patio on the second floor was delightful. Breakfast was ample and tasty. All questions were answered satisfactorily. Staff were friendly and attended our needs. Other guests were friendly. Proximity to Santa Clara University was advantageous.

Breakfast could have been a variety of different foods daily as we kind of got sick of having the same thing for seven days in a row. And the pool towels were never filled. Over all a nice area and friendly staff.

The worst was the breakfast food. Minus 0. Cold and greasy. Worst breakfast we have ever had in any hotel. Seemed odd since everything else was so nicely presented.

Thanks for a good breakfast selections both hot and cold options. Offer daily housekeeping and plenty of parking space for SUV and truck. Bus stop is in front of hotel.

was quiet, clean and fresh. The breakfast was disappointing at best, inedible actually. Coffee was just weird tasting, like the eggs and what they called sausage. It was very kind of them to get up so early and prepare it, but dont count on eating it

The TV did not work and after the front desk clerk tried to fix it, we were moved to another room. This was a slight inconvenience as we'd already unpacked. Coil boxspring was odd and a little noisy but we must have gotten used to it. The mattress was comfortable. The washclothes looked worn, these should all be replaced. Breakfast was ok. Given all of this, i would stay here again as it was a quiet place to rest.

The bed is comfortable. After a long day, it helps me to sleep well. The breakfast is good. I stayed 7 days and ate breakfast every morning.
